  1. Horrible customer service - refused to discuss damages.

My representative [NAME EDIT] did not respond to my questions about the damages that were caused by obviously negligent handling of my property. The refused to contact me about my damage claim, return phone calls or respond to emails after my move. They were quick however to respond to my credit card company when I disputed their charges due to the damages. Obviously they've done this before and this is their M.O.

  2. Claims.

I have moved many times in the last 20
years with Sorensen Moving and Storage and have always had a good experience until this last move, which was from TN to Florida in June 2015. The crew did a great job, showed up on time and finished all the packing and loading in one day.

My belongings were moved into Sorensen's “climate controlled” warehouse in Melbourne, FL.During the year that my items were in storage, I once paid for warehouse access to remove a few unboxed items. I discovered that there were a few items in my crates that did not belong to me. So I told the warehouse employee to remove those items because someone will be looking for them.

In September 2016, they delivered my belongings to my new home. They also tried to deliver someone else's belongings, including a sofa, shoes, and some other items, and I refused them.

After unpacking, I realized I was missing some things (coats, clothes, some tools, lawn equipment, and some small kitchen appliances), which I can only imagine were delivered to someone else. I also discovered molded lamp shades and books stuck together and mildewed (climate-control?) Additionally, I
found that several pieces of my furniture were dirty and/or damaged
(ie., my buffet had a broken leg, gouges in the top, and blue moving
blankets stuck into the stain). I took photos of the damage, as did
    the delivery crew.

When I told Sorensen all of this, the claim processor sent me a claim form and told me that my claim would be processed in 30 days. I submitted my claim, after which they sent
a furniture repair man out to assess the damage. Without discussing
anything with me, he told Sorensen that most of the damage was old
and predated the move, which is not true.

Since then, I have called a number of
times to try to find out the status of my claim. Initially, I was
told by the claim processor that she had to get help because she had
never seen a claim with so many missing items. After not hearing
anything for a while, I left a message with the office manager, and
then later with the owner asking for assistance with my claim. I was
afraid that the “trail” for my missing items was growing cold. A
couple of weeks later, the dispatcher called and rudely told me that
I needed to stop calling and harassing them, and that if I “behaved”
he would send me the reimbursement for the cleaning of my two sofas,
and he would repair two pieces of furniture, and he might compensate
me in some way for the lost items. He told me he would have it
settled and off his desk by the 15 of November. I have
heard nothing since. Here it is mid December, and I still have not
    heard anything.

I share this experience to warn others not to do business with this company.

  3. Terrible Company.

Beware of the insurance coverage! This company is extremely deceitful, they marked every piece of furniture I have as badly worn, scratched, or dented. Of course all my furniture is not damaged and some pieces were even brand new. Then use this as an excuse to not honor your claim because (they say it was damaged before it was shipped) The sheet is every hard to read and with the stress of moving I missed this and foolishly signed. I only had three things damaged (not a big claim at all) and they flat out refused to do anything. They even forgot my safe at the house and had to send it via FedEx. When it arrived it was badly damaged. I called as soon as I received the package and they indicated they would cover it. When the claim was submitted they told me FedEx would have to handle it. This is a very shady company! Its a shame.. Be careful hiring them!!

  4. Highly recommended. Yes we are serious.

Okay, so the move wasn't perfect. The real test of a company's moral compass is how they treat you when something goes awry. We expected a litany of excuses, but instead we were treated with the utmost respect. Tiffany Coats, our contact at Sorensen, acted like the events had happened to members of her own family. She proactively stayed in contact (by phone as well as email) until every detail was sorted out. She was very professional and compassionate, and she was more than fair. Excellent resolution, offered in a very timely manner, with a personal touch. Highly recommended. .

  5. Moved me from Florida.

I have moved many timed and even to other continentd and this had to bed the most unprofessional organization that had to deal with..they do not keep their promises and couldn't even get my delivery date right..was like pulling teeth to get accurate information from Sorenson logistics and administration staff..to often they would tell me they would call with an update and just did not bother to do so..didn't deliver my complete loafd..then could not tell me when the rest of my goods were coming..what a mistake this was!!
Do yourself a favor and use some one else..NOT SORENSEN.

  6. Sorenson Moving and Storage.

I was 110% pleased with this moving company and would use them again They were prompt and started to work as soon as they arrived at tmy house.  There was an elevator for delivery and this did not cause them any problem.  The movers were working the whole day and I did not even see them stop for lunch  They are very  clean and I was very please with the job.

  7. Many Thanks to a Great Company.

Sorensen was excellent to work with and really helped me understand the process of moving to another state.   I really appreciated the efforts Sorensen made to satisfy my time frame. Everything worked beautifully for us.   In addition to their help, I cannot begin to say enough wonderful things about their crew who moved our belongings.   Sal and Eddie were amazing!    I have never seen two harder-working people in my life.  They arrived early and worked until the job was complete.    Not only did they take great care with our things, they helped ease my nerves and kept me calm during a very stressful time.   They were so kind and respectful to me and my children. In my opinion, they are true assets to the company!     Sal was so wonderful at explaining how things would work and Eddie did an amazing job packing our things. I don't know how I would have done this without their help and guidance.   I guess the most impressive part of the move was that they finished packing ahead of schedule in Frankfort and unloading ahead of schedule in Melbourne.  Many of our friends have moved and have had horrific experiences.   I am so glad our move was so easy and trouble-free.   Again, thank you Sorensen and your moving crew for all that you did for us.  If we ever move again, I know who I will call and recommend.  .

  9. Sorensen/allied movers.

These guys were great came early loaded everything in record time. rolled out carpet over house carpet, wrapped everything, disassembled and assembled everything. record time saved 2 hours off the quted rate very professional, will refer everybody I know to them. Willie.

  10. Worst Move Ever.

This was the worst of 6 corportate moves for our family.  Before we even left our home in FL the movers/packers stole money from my kids change jar so I had to call the police to file a report.  The packers treated our items like junk.  Things were randomly thrown into boxes from several rooms in the house (for example, bathroom items mixed in with garage items and items from the kids rooms).  Things were not packed properly so many of my items are broken.  The management of the company could care less about the poor service.  When I reported the incident of the cash being stolen they basically called me a liar and did nothing about it.  Then, the driver was late for our delivery because his truck broke down.  He threatened to move my stuff into storage because I wasn't available to have it delivered on the 4th of July when my truck was supposed to arrive on the 1st.  DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.  The sales pitch is great and they go on about their excellent customer service and being "one of the most admired companies of the space coast".  I don't see how this is possible. It was a terrible experience from packing through delivery..

  11. Movers.

My experience was a local move using only Sorenson, however we were cleaning up a mess left by another moving company.  The move included several locations, emptying storage units, sorting, organizing, re-storing or transporting boxes, and furniture..It could have been utter chaos and very frustrating, but the crew sent by Sorenson was on time, courteous, great attitude, very professional and helpful.  I actually ended the day smiling instead of wanting to rip out my hair.  I would defnintely recommend this company, and I would certainly use them again.

  12. Theft From Sorensen Moving and Storage Melbourne FL.

Earlier this year my family and I moved from Melbourne FL. to Tulsa OK. We contacted Allied and 4 other comapnies to find the right price and the right company. Younger gentlemen about 22-24 yrs old came to the house and was VERY respectable. I like the company and chose them over the rest (they were not the cheapest or the most expensive). We had set a date and the date changed 4-5 times with th company from over booking, that in turn had to change my start date with my new job 4-5 times (very inconvieniant). Any how when the movers came, it was a whirl wind of people that showed up to pack and load out my house. When all was said and done.. I had no idea what went where and when things were leaving the ouse to be loaded. They dd a final walk through when the house was empty, and then they left just as fast as they came.
Delivery was a nightmare. First Sorensen got the bright idea to split up my house hold good into two shipments. They were supposed to be at my house on the 2nd and showed up on the 5th with only one half of the shipment. They didn't even tell me that they split the shipment up until I called to findout where the other half of my table was and there the other 293 boxes were. that's when they told me that the other half of my house was still in there warehouse!! NEEDLESS TO SAY I WAS PISSED!! Soooo after all was said and done they delivered my "over flow" of house hold goods 3 WEEKS LATER. Our hand made European table was broken along with the matching cupboard, my daughters kitchen set ($550.00) was SMASHED and multiple items and boxes (34 items and boxes) never showed up. Soooo Not the best move for me in my life. I am missing fishing poles, Bose head sets, coffee maker, luggage, and ruck sacks just to name a few things.. I would NEVER recommend them to ANYONE in MELBOURNE FL. or the surounding areas. PATRICK AFB beware!! Dont let them take you like they took me and my family!!
