This moving company sucks. I am disgusted with the whole experience. My grandmother's oil painting never made it off the truck. All of my stuff was mixed in with other people's deliveries, it's no wonder stuff was lost. A discussed cost of $1000. Plus labor and materials jumped to $1500. Plus labor and materials once my stuff was loaded and in the truck. All said and done, this move cost over $1,800. Materials bought at my storage facility for $93. were then billed to me at $205. Shady credit card practices, holding my possessions hostage... Do yourself a favor and move it yourself. Or hire a professional. Update: my grandmother's irreplaceable oil painting, along with three other items were left behind in New York at my storage unit there. After the driver lying and saying he unwrapped it in the unit here in Florida, it was located in the unit in New York. Johnny Blaze (owner of Stars and Stripes moving) said he "wanted to make things right" and bring my items down on another Florida bound truck but excuse after excuse, I was strung along and blown off. I would NEVER recommend this fly by night shady excuse for a company.
THEFT
One of the drivers accidently drove off with an expensive piece of glass for a designer cabinet and will not return the glass or calls or texts from the owner or myself. Theft is not good for a business. Let's see if owner steps up and pays for replacement designer glass since his driver will not even call him back. Not good! And the driver was paid even though he is now classified as a thief and the police have had to be invovled.
How they saved the day!!!
Jon at “Stars and Stripes Movers” ended up LITERALLY SAVING US FROM A TRAGIC SITUATION!
My son had just come back to MacDill Air Force base in Tampa, FL on Saturday after being granted humanitarian leave for two weeks to NC. While on the final days of leave, he received his discharge papers he’d been waiting on. He had exactly ONE WEEK to complete his “out processing” for his “HONORABLE DISCHARGE due to medical injuries” after serving our great United States ?? Air Force ? for 5 years. He had to “out process”, pack, get his U-haul, and turn in keys to his apartment!
Friday afternoon, both people lined up to help my son move completely ghosted him!
I said a prayer and opened Google to begin my search, feeling hopeless as I even did so. There were various companies that came up. One name caught my eye immediately!
STARS AND STRIPES MOVERS. For obvious reasons this caught my eye as my son served in the Armed Forces!
I quickly call the number and JON, the owner, operations and logistics manager answers the phone. I begin to just honestly tell him the story about my son and me, our circumstances and why he was moving home to NC.
From the moment he began talking, he had such a commanding voice, but one filled with such care and compassion. ?
He began asking me the specifics of the move for my son the next morning.
My son’s reservation to pick up his U-haul was at 10am. Jon was going through his list of moves for the next day and asked me if my son was able to get the U-haul earlier. I think Jon intuitively felt my anxiety rising and in such a kind and compassionate voice said, “Meleah, we ARE going to get this figured out one way or another… and we will make this happen!” I think you could have picked my jaw up off the ground!!
My son was able to change his reservation to earlier in the morning so I immediately called Jon back. He said that he could have 2 guys come out and help him for one hour!
I quietly asked, “Jon, how much is all this going to cost us?” He replied back with the rate that it would normally be, which was far beyond our budget, but quickly followed up with saying that he felt there was a reason that God had our paths cross as well. He quoted me a rate that was right at our budget limit! INCREDIBLE!
Saturday morning, Jon reached out to me personally and told me that about 90% of the ENTIRE APARTMENT was loaded into the U-haul! I was STUNNED!
My son called me about 15 minutes later… He told me “… the ENTIRE APARTMENT is packed! The 2 guys packed all my stuff carefully in the U-haul, and those 2 guys that moved me ‘were the coolest guys ever!’ … and they did it all in less than a hour!”
I truly and honestly cannot adequately put into words how JON at “Stars and Stripes Movers” not only saved the day for us in so many ways, but was so kind and compassionate the entire way throughout this experience!
I honestly cannot recommend this moving company more! Not only because the movers did an excellent job, but because at the very CORE of this company’s values, they believe in doing whatever they can to actually HELP PEOPLE, even IN A CRISIS! They don’t take advantage of their situation, and in fact did the exact opposite!
Jon has personally left a lasting impression on my life and I’m forever grateful for our interaction together!

He said they have trucks going up far north like New York all the way down south to Florida!! IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO MOVE!! LOOK NO FURTHER!!! Owner Jon was communicative from the start. I could tell the pride with which he ran his business from our first convo. Likely the same focus & professionalism with which he served our country.
The crew assigned to my job was nothing short of exemplary. Respectful from the onset and they made fast work of my life belongings - with the same care I would have if I could do have done it all by myself.
Overall experience? I would give 10 ⭐️ if I could. If you have to move, do yourself a favor and contact Jon @ Stars and Stripes.
I was lucky and randomly picked his company out of a line-up. You don’t have to be lucky - I just saved you the trouble.
Stay Away From Stars and Stripes!
I was so pleased that I would be using a company that is owned and operated by a Veteran. Well, the two who showed up almost three hours late have never served. Though the movers arrived almost three hours late, things were fine. Then I noticed a split in the wood of my armoire. I never came out and accused anyone yet one worker toook offense to me mentioning that I heard a cracking sound a minute earlier. He proceeded to question my motives and integrity. I have no idea how the split in the wood happened and as I had indicated. I never received a word of apology from the company or even a phone call. Forget a partial reimbursement for my time waiting for them. Not even a ohone call indicating when they would arrive. I was told by the driver that they couldn’t call because their phone was dead, yet it was used to take pictures a few minutes later. Dead? I guess not! Terrible experience. My son is a 100% disabled veteran, this company is an embarassment to those who have served. What ever happened to accepting responsibility?

I have had some pretty terrible service before, but have never felt the need to write a review until today. No matter who you speak to (I spoke with many different people on the phone), this company provides the WORST service I have ever experienced. Not only was my car was not picked up for five days after the requested date with NO ONE returning my phone calls, they also decided to up my price $200 the day of transportation.
After finally getting a driver scheduled to pick up my car, he was and additional two days late just to show up! And charged me ANOTHER $200 because my car was loaded (which S&ST said was okay). When speaking with SST about this they were rude and said it wasn't their problem it was up to the the driver - who did not clarify this with ME before leaving with MY car. When I got upset with all the additional costs, Alex even had the audacity to challenge if the car was even my property! This company provided horrible service, does not even begin to know what customer service is and was just not worth my time. Honestly, I would give them negative stars if I could.
