  1. Moving a Home Library.

Student Movers gave me a free estimate and stayed with the estimate the whole way.. They moved 10 book cases and 30 boxes of books to a storage space at another site. They cleared a way into the storage space and packed the furniture in the back liked I requested and how they knew to do it. They brought back stuff from that storage space for me to discard. All completed at the low end of the estimate. Kwane and Marcus are strong and professional movers. They work well together and are a great team.

  2. Do Not Recommend.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. UNPROFESSIONAL MOVERS AND STAFF. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Please note, this is a company owned by Buehler. At first, I refrained from writing such a negative review since at the end of the day, most of what I needed was moved and nothing was broken. But, after signing off on the paper work for a certain amount, I was charged extra without being notified. I moved on 8/31/2012. The extra charge hit my credit card on 09/10/2012. As of today, I have left two message for Ron (the manager or so I'm told) and have not heard back by phone or email. My movers were scheduled to come between 8 and 9:30 on Friday, August 31st. 9:30 came and went,  so I called and was told the guys were on their way. They had trouble finding the building, though they did arrive around ten. I had two guys moving me from a third floor one-bedroom apartment to a first floor one-bedroom apartment in the same building. Brad was great, friendly and unfortunately, did the brunt of the work, I have to exclude him from the negative comments. His partner, however, George, reeked of marijuana and looked completely dazed. Whle I recognize that George was trying to be friendly, he repeatedly asked me if I was seeing/dating anyone and wanted to know where I hung out in my free time. I did nothing to encourage this behavior and he didn't pick up on my not responding--kept hounding the issue. He also asked me how much my new apartment costs and then tried giving me and my mother business cards for his uncle's landscaping business. Are you kidding me?!! Needless to say those were thrown in the trash. Once again, Brad did a great job of packing things. George kept standing there trying to talk to me and my mother. George wouldn't listen when I told him that I needed the furniture and boxes moved and to not bother with the things that hadn't been boxed, I planned on moving those on my own. After two hours, I told them they were done, signed the receipt and bid them on their way. Today, I spoke with Tammy (I believe) in accounting. She had trouble explaining why four hours instead of two were on my receipt. I signed off on two and their quote indicated I would pay a fuel surchage and $94/per hour. The guys only worked for two hours and I did not agree to pay for lunch and this wouldn't have been an issue had they shown up on time. I have now contacted my credit card company and am going through them to handle the dispute since when I do get someone on the line, they are unable to help me and I keep being transferred to someone who doesn't return my messages.

  3. Do Not Use Student Movers.

Do not even consider using! We decided on service days and hours over a 4 day period. I was providing help to a renter moving out of my home in another state. We ordered packing for 3 days, and then move out day on the 4th day. They were to contact me on that 4th day before charging my credit card.
They never did! They showed up an additional day (the renter was to finish the job themself) and charged me 8 more hours. They never called me about this. No where in our paperwork did I request service on this day. A stranger signed the legal liability form on this day!! This nearly tripled our agreed upon cost. A piano was moved and was supposed to be a $100.00 fee. They said it was a grand piano and charged $250.00. I have pictures to prove what type of piano it was. In dealing with my credit card co. and Student Movers, they submit lie, after lie after lie. Michelle, in the office should be ashamed of herself!
