Lies, Lies And More Lies!! Franklin Van Lines.
Gave 1 star because I couldn't give 0 stars. We hired Franklin Van Lines to move us from Nebraska to Michigan. For starters it really isn't even Franklin Van Lines it's Sunshine Moving of America out of FL. You call their customer service line and it says Swift, the salesman I worked with was out of Denver the dispatch person is in FL. And their claim department is movingclaims.net. You never really know who you are working with and they are all separate. IE the salesman doesn't know dispatch. The delivery person was on owner operator so they brokered my load out. Of which the salesman told me didn't happen. Everything that could be lied about to us, was. Lied to about the price, type of payment, delivery date, etc. We were told our things would be delivered to us on 7/25 and we are just receiving them today 8/2. Anyone I called or emailed asking about where our things were acted like we should have already had them. After initial contact about where our things were our phone calls didn't get answered, they have caller id, our messages didn't get returned and our emails didn't get a reply. The dispatcher told me I'd get called back in 20 mins no call back so I called after about 3 hours and left a message. Of course no call back and when I called back the next day I got hung up on. We thought that they had lost our things. We had to spend over $1000 waiting for our things as I started work and had no work clothes or shoes, had to eat out as no pots and pans, my service dogs special food and meds on truck to had to reorder those as well. Upon delivery they only except cash or money order from post office. Talked to a gentleman with claims about when we were to get our things and that I wanted a discount. He asked what would make me happy and I told him I didn't want to pay another dime give us our things and go on your way. I was told ok so when I talk to him the next day to tell him our things are coming and driver is expecting full amount in cash he says good and you owe him the money. I was dumbfounded because I thought we'd get a discount. He then informed me I have to wait for my claim to go through. So really in a round about way he, the claims supervisor, even lied to me. I found out from the delivery driver they had our things in storage in Omaha. I could go on and on but in short DO NOT HIRE SUNSHINE MOVING OF AMERICA DBA FRANKLIN VAN LINES to do our move unless you don't want your things on time, lied to, and ignored. I also reported this company to the FMSCA, they can't do anything legally but they will put your complaint on file with Sunshine Moving of America's DOT number so that others can see and read the complaint. Didn't fill in the moving companies email because there are too many emails you have to deal with when working with this company.
