Final cost was DOUBLE the estimate. Job estimated to take 4 hours took 9 and only because I told them to leave a lot of my stuff behind. Workers broke three pieces of furniture, including a solid oak table. They somehow forgot to unload one of our large boxes from the truck and we've been trying for 2 solid weeks to get it back - they swore we'd have it this morning, but nobody came. Contents of box around $1000, will be charging them to replace contents. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau about them.
I would use them again!
I have to say I was pretty impressed with Travel Van Lines. The salesperson I dealt with was staright up and honest about the price. I was not left in the dark about anything. My move date was 4/5/12 and they said they would be there between 8-9am The movers were a half hour late but called me to say they were stuck in NY traffic and would be there as soon as possible. I appreciated the fact that they called me. Once the movers arrived they got to work and did a great job. They were friendly and efficent. I will reccomend Travel Van Lines to all of my friends.
Awful. Beware.
Travel Van Lines goes under the guise of another company with an "A" rating, when they are actually Certified Van Lines with a "D " rating. Upon arrival, they had changed all the rules, and all the fees on me, and presented me with papers to sign from Certified Van Lines, telling me for the first time that they're the same company. When I contacted "JR" the person I had originally scheduled the move with, he relinquished all responsibility and said he had nothing to do with the plans anymore, his job was done. They threatened me with paying the balance in cash only, upon arrival, without opening any doors. I felt like it would be like "Let's Make a Deal" and they'd take my cash, and then open the truck only to reveal a goat and confetti. My parents had to run to the bank to get cash while I sat with them. I felt like I was being held hostage in these mafia-style plans, and it was an extremely horrible experience. All of my things were there, but they did manage to drop a box, and break a piece of glass. BEWARE of Travel Van Lines and Certified Van Lines!
