  1. Great for long distance.

    Choosing a moving company is pretty scary, don’t get me wrong. “It’s just stuff”, sure, but you’re basically trusting people you’ve never met with all of your material possessions, hoping they show up in one piece on the other side. I recently changed careers, and part of that transformation was wanting to move out of NY. I mean, I loved it, don’t get me wrong – but I was ready to start a new phase of my life. After securing a place outside of Washington, DC, I was referred to We Move U by a friend who’d used them to move to New York from Virginia Beach. I did have a bunch of stuff, but the quote I received was more than reasonable. My actual out-of-pocket cost was basically right on target with the quote; a pleasant surprise, to be honest.

    Upon unpacking in Virginia, I found that even the more delicate items – I have some vacuum-tube amplifiers with many delicate glass components – were completely unharmed. The We Move U guys did a great job, considering the quality of the roads they had to navigate down I-95 to get to my new spot! If you’re moving in or out of the Tri-State area, I really have to recommend We Move U for your needs, whether they’re large or small.

    It was a pretty bumpy road relocating my mom from Pennsylvania to Arizona after my dad passed away. It was a very stressful situation and so I went online to start looking for a mover. Dozens of movers started calling me but one company caught my eye because they were so detailed with me regarding the whole moving process. That was We Move U. From Jack at sales; who initially booked my move; to James at customer service, they were all very helpful and patient with my mom and I so I want give special thanks to the We Move U team!

    I recently moved from New York to Dallas Texas for a new job and choose we move you to move me after doing tons of research on many different companies I choose to go with them because of their great reviews. At pick up Tyson the foremen was great, he explained me everything and reassured me I was in great hands. It took about 7 to 10 days to get delivery at delivery driver should up with a great crew and offload pretty quick they were some minor damages done to my book case but for the size move I did it was expected.

    My husband and I have lived in Bridgeport, Ct for 37 years and were considering to move to Florida to be closer to our grandchildren. We are avid antique collectors so you can imagine how nervous we were to even think about people we don't know moving our precious collections. We didn't know anyone that could refer a moving company to us but were telling us the terrible things they have heard about movers breaking things, losing boxes and stealing jewelry. We were petrified at the thought of finding as mover we could trust. I, reluctantly, put a quote request on the internet and within minutes received so many phone calls from moving companies from everywhere promising me the lowest price, the fastest service pressuring me to make a reservation and hurry to put a deposit or there probably wouldn't be a truck available if I waited, it was overwhelming. Then I got a call from Mike Holland with a moving company called "We Move You". I don't know, I just felt comfortable speaking with him about what I was thinking about bringing to Florida. We talked about my grandkids and about the weather in Florida..just no pressure at all. Mike explained that we would get a phone call a few days in advance before the movers would arrive (which we did) and what to expect on move day. I spoke with James, I think he was the dispatch manager, who assured me that we didn't have to worry about anything that he would make sure our move would go smoothly. It went fantastic! The movers showed up when they said they would, they protected all of our antiques, they took apart our bed and headboard, loaded everything very carefully on to the truck in a little more than 3 1/2 hours. I couldn't believe it.

    I got a phone call from James a few days later telling me that the movers would be at my home, in Florida, in two days between 11:00am and 1:00pm. Sure enough, they showed up a little before 1:00. The guys went right to work asking what room would I like the boxes, which room would I like for them to set up the bed. Now believe me when I tell you, I was nervous about my antiques and I inspected every one as they took them off the truck. Not a scratch, nothing damaged, everything came off the truck as it went on, perfect. I was so relieved. Everything went exactly as Mike and James said. I bought the guys pizza and pop for doing such a great job and even gave them a $200 tip. They really deserved it. They took care of my furniture, my antiques and my high blood pressure.

    I not only recommend "We Move You", I insist you call them first. They were not the cheapest quote we received (or the highest) but they were the best decision I made and I'm so happy I trusted them.

    I could not be happier with this company. I have moved alot and finally decided to hire a company and I will never use anyone else. They made the process so easy and did everything for me.

  6. Very upset.

    There are not enough words to describe how how upset, inconvenienced and hurt my husband and I are by this company. This was our very first time moving and having to use a moving company at that. When we first called we were excited everyone was really nice and explained everything up until we made that deposit and they had us as a customer.   After that we become the worst customer who they hate to deal with. everything changed, quotes went up etc. fine! We agreed that we will pay as we already made a deposit which we would have lost And was crunched with time to go finding another company. They changed our agreed moving date every single time and told us to read the contract next time. Okay we finally did not have a choice but to wait till the date they did say was our move date. The very last window day and the very last hour with only two men. We were so sorry for them. After so much driving to have two men move so much stuff The worst of it lots of missing items and damage and broken. We verified the truck and the driver said it was clear of all our items. The stuff remains were other customer. Now this is late evening at 5 with two tired men. They were not able to wait for us to check our boxes. Upon opening that night. It was devastating. After waiting so long and paying so much. All our sofa cushions missing, DVD player, our kids Wii and ps 4. A box of VS an bath n body works which I sell. A red cooler an iron table to name a few. Tried calling the driver which was like 30 mins after realizing no cushions I emailed the company. No response yet. please as consumers stay away from companies like this that treats you well enough to get you money and then don't even care after its like whatever. It was my worst experience ever. It was hard for us moving to another state in our new home to go through such horror.  .

  7. Do NOT Use!

    I had a wonderful experience with my first call.  Denise was lovely.  Then came moving day.  The movers showed up 4 hours after scheduled.  They loaded all of our belongings and then told us the cost would be almost $5000 more - but they would cut us a deal and only charge us another $2200. over what they already quoted and what we paid.  Our stuff was gone so we had no choice.  We rushed to out new home - because they said it could be as little as 24 hours and if we weren't there we would be charged for storage and re-delivery.  14  days later - with no information and no calls back - they showed up.  The move-in guys were nice, but the truck arrived at 9 and the helpers arrived after 11.  As they unloaded, we saw that much of our furniture had been destroyed.  It was like the old Samsonite commercial - where the luggage goes on the conveyor to the back and the big gorilla throws it around.  No care was taken with our belongings.  My couch was slashed - the big screen TV that they packed was shattered.  My Xerox machine was cracked and dented and no loner works.  I cannot even begin to list the damage.  It is disgusting!  Boxes were missing! Mattresses were filthy and stained!  I have never seen anything like it.  Of course, they no longer return my calls and have essentially said it is my problem - offering 60 cents a pound.  This was not an accident or mistake.  There is no question this is recklessness and blatant negligence.  I have contacted a lawyer and will be suing them and I plan to make it as public as possible.  This company betrays trust and will be reported to the Better Business Bureau.

  8. Horrible Experience.

    I have never encountered a more unprofessional company in my life. I was moving from Pa. to Fla. and did not have much to move so I thought I'd try WeMoveU. The sales pitch that I got from Michelle S. seemed great. I filled out my initial moving inventory list 3 months before my move. I included everything in my apartment. Two weeks before the move I readjusted my list, deleting a queen size mattress and box spring, 2 large living room chairs and a table. My quote was reduced by 260.00, but then I was told that upon delivery I needed to have a shuttle truck at the cost of 250.00. Now my quote was right back where it was with much less furniture. On the day that my things were picked up, the pick up time was changed 3 times! Finally when they got to my place, the foreman said that they did not have half of my inventory on his list. After revising my list, I was charged an additional 1050.00. I was told that my sofa which was regular size, was considered oversized, my boxes were too large, etc. I had called Michelle S. to confirm with her before the move what the correct size of the boxes should be, she assured me I'd be fine. Michelle also said that even though my contract said that my move could take up to 14 days, I would have it within a few days because they has 3 shipments going to Fla. a week. I waited 12 days for my things to arrive broken, in crunched and ripped boxes. And a couple of my boxes were not delivered as well as 2 rugs. Like I mentioned earlier, I paid 250.00 for a shuttle. Much to my surprise a 53 ft. truck  arrived and when I told the driver he was supposed to deliver in a shuttle he acted like he had no idea what I was talking about. It was written clearly on my contract. I then had to call the company and tell them I was going to deduct the 250.00 from the remaining balance. Michelle S. told me I'd have to pay the entire balance and they would send me a refund. There was no way that was happening. The driver was given permission to deduct the 250.00. However all money must be paid prior to your belongings being taken off the truck. I included a tip, which in retrospect I would not have done. They would not put together my table and desk that they took apart prior to the move. They agreed to put the bed together. When my son got in bed that night, it collapsed! So here's the best part, upon leaving my development, they drove over a water main that is in front of a fire hydrant and broke it, plus damaged other things. When approached by maintanence, the driver yelled out the window for them to call the company and they'd handle it. So far WeMoveU has not responded to phone calls or faxes. Avoid this company like the plague. They are horrible to deal with and will not call you back to rectify any problems after they get your money. .

  9. Movers beware.

    First time using a moving company, and my last. MOVERS BEWARE My TV was taken out of  the house so fast, it was not logged on my inventory list, brand new sofa ripped, legs to my dining room table missing, legs to my ottoman missing, box that was claerly marked GLASS was crushed by them putting heavy plastic containers on top of it. Now I am left to fight with a insurance company for reimbursement. I say this to warn hard working people from being taken advantage of. I even gave these guys a tip, a set of china and a pair of sneakers. Very frustrated
    And I was also told that James Cisco, well he doesn't speak to customers, but he is the owner, and this is a family owned business.
    Contacting the BBB again and again til this is resolved.

  10. The guys were friendly.

    Can't say enough good things about these people. I called on a Thursday wanting to move THE NEXT DAY and they made it work. Although I was disappointed that they couldn't schedule me until 8pm on a Friday, I said yes anyway. At 6pm on Friday I get a phone call saying they're running AHEAD of schedule and would I be interested in moving earlier. Obviously I said yes, and we had everything out of my storage unit in Chinatown and into my Brooklyn apartment in just over an hour. The guys were friendly, organized, and got the job done quickly, and the price was reasonable.

  11. Worst experience of my life.

    To say I am upset about this move is an understatement.    1. We used because you were "family owned" and it was supposed to be a "personal" experience - Michele over committed and over sold. 2. You were the most expensive quote we got but we liked you a a felt we could trust this company.. and they would pack my kitchen - BUT they did not wrap a single item and over a dozen things showed up broken.  3. The movers were two hours late and I had to call you to see where they were. 4. I am paying an additional $500 because the furniture  went over some line in the truck.  5. I land in Charlotte and call "customer service" and spoke to Whitney. She was short with me and said she could send an email to the driver and that it could take up to 21 days. You told us 2-7 business days- this is absurd. Whitney said she was the manager and I could file a complaint- which I am prepared to do..   I am not sure how in 2015 you aren't using gps on your trucks. My whole life is on a truck and NO ONE can tell me where it is or when I will get it.    The movers show up in NC and demand more money because of stairs when Michele said IN WRITING via an e-mail she would waive that fee but never put it in the contract.    I am unpacking and most furniture is damaged and over 12 things are broken.    I call and no one is helpful. I cannot get a manager on the phone and this company does not care because they have their money.. I am left with family heirloms shattered and my furnirture beat up. .

  12. On time and did a fantastic job.

    The movers were right OO. Very professional and cordial. They were moving our daughter, and my wife and daughter were very pleased with the entire process. My wife was so impressed she gave them each a very generous tip. I need to do some work for my wife and see if she tips me as generously. LOL      Prior to the move we were in constantly by email verifying everything about the move. Thanks to everyone at We-MoveU.

  13. A horrible experience.

    Through the quote process I was happy with We move u - the customer service was great. However that all changed once they picked up our stuff. I called several times prior to adjust the amount of stuff we had. I had every box counted and measured. As far as furniture, they reassured me over and over that they didn't need exact measurements. Once the truck was packed, I was informed that exact measurements did matter and I was way over and going to be charged that overage at a ridiculously high rate. The guy in charge (Anthony) was extremely aggressive and hostile when I questioned the overage. He was also livid that I wanted to pay the half up front with a credit card, which we move u had said was totally fine.
    I was called 5 days after pick up (Wednesday) and told that they would be delivering our stuff the following day. The day of expected delivery we never heard from anyone. After calling the driver several times, he finally called me back Friday and explained that his truck had caught on fire and there would be a delay. He needed to take his truck to a garage to be fixed, was renting a box truck and hoped to deliver to us Saturday. All day Saturday passed with no word and finally at 9pm the driver called to ask if we would accept delivery at 1am on Sunday. I explained that this was not ideal but if necessary we would take the delivery. He then said he would deliver by noon Sunday. Sunday at around 2pm a crew of two in a box truck arrived with our belongings.
    They struggled to carry our stuff, constantly needing to sit down. We were worried that one would have a heart attack so we offered to help. As they brought our stuff in, we started opening boxes and found that a lot of it was broken. All of our vintage china was smashed - as if someone had driven over it. It seemed every box we opened was in the same shape. They had also broken the legs off our hutch and the legs they removed from our bookcase to keep from breaking, never arrived. The table top glass that was packed by itself to avoid breakage never showed up either. Our bike that we paid extra to move, never arrived. Boxes and boxes of CDs never arrived - NOT ONE! The xbox never arrived either. They lost pieces of our bed frame and our new mattress which had been bagged for protection looked like it had been driven over as well. When I asked the driver about all of this he simply said that he had never seen a bike and for me to call we move u. He also informed me that he did not work for we move u and was simply contracted to deliver our belongings which was contradictory to what we move u told me. we move u told me in the beginning that they do not contract jobs and do their own deliveries.
    When I called we move u, they (Mare) told me to file a claim. So much of our stuff was missing or stolen and she said just file a claim. She told me that if our belongings were in the warehouse that they would find them and deliver them. It has been 4 months today and I have heard nothing. How do you misplace a bike?
    We believe that our stuff was stolen.
    And the customer service we received upon hiring them is now non-existent.

  14. Stay away.

    This movers showed up and demanded $1000 more than quoted.  Nothing was different on my list. They said the furniture looked bigger than described.  Keep in mind I spent a lot of time on the phone describing the furniture and working out an inventory list.  They said it was antique and was bigger than ususal and that I never sent pictures---they never asked for pictutres.  DO NOT USE THEM UNLESS YOU WANT TO EXPERIENCE EXTORTION.  I disputed the down payment with the credit card company.

  15. I have in the future.

    We-MoveU has done a great job in arranging the moves I have asked them to do over the past five years. They are great representatives of your company. The movers have all been great as well. I could not be happier with the service everyone from them And Truck has provided to me over the years and I will continue to use them in any moves I have in the future.
