  1. Excellent customer service.

Recently I have received excellent costumer service from 1st Generation Moving company. Their service and professional care exceeded my expectation. Three most important things that makes them the best in business: Friendly approach, affordable price, and able to deliver their service ahead of schedule. I would recommend 1st generation moving for anyone that need best moving service.

  2. Great Movers.

I had 1st generation moving move me and my family from Texas to Illinois and everything went as planned. From the first phone call the rep. Was very informative and helpful. To the men coming to my home and loading all my furniture. They took care of everything very carefully! I would recommend 1st generation moving to all of my friends and family! Thank you very much for all of your help 1st generation and their crew!

  3. Big Mistake.

DON'T DON'T use this company.  The claim they are professionals, they are not.  They broke into locked boxes, stole a gun, jewelry, personal identification, bank checks, etc.  This items were in lock boxes.  Didn't live up to anything that was told to me on the phone.  Also used the bait and switch costing me $500.00 more than quoted.

  4. Big Mistake.

Big mistake on my part to give them my move.    - They gave me a low quote on the phone, but when they came over to move took the price was way higher.   - They take 50% of the money upfront in cash, so beware. They take your stuff and money and after that hold you hostage on delivery   - My delivery took almost a month from pickup date, and had to call multiple times with no status update from them - After almost 20 days from the pickup, they told me the move was very hard for them as they could not find anyone to deliver it to my location. Why could they not tell me upfront before they took my money and stuff ? They knew where I was shipping it since the day I asked for a quote.   - The service after you give them your move is outright pathetic. It was almost like dealing with criminals.   - They never called to tell me my stuff has been shipped, only to be called by the driver who wanted to deliver it at 10:00 pm in the night - The Delivery guy again looked for reasons to charge extra, had to pay him $200 more for taking it one extra floor - Did not assemble the bed properly, cause he had lost a few screws. - The delivery guy kept on asking for tip (more like threatening to tip him, or else).   In the end the whole experience felt like a day light robbery.

  5. All Damaged Items & Horrible Customer Service.

**DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!**RUDE, FALSE QUOTES, INCONSISTENT PERSONNEL, DAMAGED ALL ITEMS 1st Generation moved our household items from Dallas to Seattle and operated in an unethical and illegal demeanor. Most items were COMPLETELY damaged. When beginning our contract with 1st Generation, we were quoted an estimated amount of our final bill, which increased by over 50%. Charges were incurred that were not originally discussed, like having stairs in our town home, which was clearly communicated to 1st Generation. When the movers arrived early to our home, the insisted on packing boxes themselves to speed up the move-out time, which also caused the rate to increase due to their box sizes that were supplied. Additionally, items were thrown into boxes and also dragged down the stairs by one individual, causing damage to the bottom of multiple items. After they left our home, EVERY conversation that occurred between the company and I was due to us contacting them or having to leave multiple messages with no contact. Our items sat in Dallas for two weeks without any progress and then when the truck left Dallas, it remained in Colorado for another week. When trying to determine the status of our items and schedule, we were either ignored or treated in an unprofessional and rude fashion. I then had to begin managing the account myself with the driver to remain in contact with him to receive updates on our stuff. The poor and nonexistent customer service, and inability to provide a quality service was originally upsetting, excluding the fact that the price greatly increased from what we were quoted. Then, when they called to say that they were expecting to arrive the next day, they wanted to charge another $400 to provide shuttle service from the truck to our home, even though our neighborhood does have access for 18-wheeler trucks. We were able to get that cost waived due to it being completely unethical, but then immediately afterwards received an email with an attached letter that the company wanted me to sign. The letter was asking me to forfeit my right to file any claims against the company if anything was stolen, missing, or damaged beyond repair. That of course made me incredibly nervous about the status of our valuables and furniture. The driver arrived later than estimated and was incredibly rude. He would not accept the money order because it was not from a post office, so we had to go out and get another one before the bank closed. The driver said if we didn't give us the money in 5 minutes, he would leave with our items. After we were able to provide him with the desired form of payment, which was never articulated to me, he then said he would not move the items off the truck until I signed the paper stating that we forfeit the right to sue or file a claim based on the status of our items. I had to then tell him I deleted the email, which I have not, so that he would give us our items and leave our property.Once they began unloading the truck, it only got worse. The majority of our items are ripped, torn, cracked, stripped, crushed or cracked. Everything from the box springs being torn to our pull out sofa being torn to them damaging our current town home (carpet and part of the wall) to a completely broken desk and tv stand to a cracked snowboard to a dresser with the back completely ripped off to our mattress just laying on the truck without anything around it. Anything you can imagine is damaged in some way - bike seat screws broken in half, bike chain protector cracked, dining room table corners crushed, boxes that apparently broken so they just wrapped in tape, boxes completely ripped open, nightstands cracked, bookcase scuffed, and more. They were even trying to leave things outside or against the wall so we would not see the damage. I have photographs of everything so far and I expect to find more damage throughout my unpacking. The company is unprofessional, unethical and borderline illegal, and I want to at least be reimbursed for their services, since we have an incredibly limited amount of salvageable items and they did not provide the service we signed up for - moving our items with care and proper handling. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and I will strive to ensure that no other person is affected by them and left with all of their property destroyed without any care or concern from 1st Generation.**DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE!** I wish I could go back in time because our family has truly been violated and we paid for it to happen. It is a crime and do not do this to yourself!

  6. Moved from TX -GA.

1st Generation moving and storage moved me from Arlington to GA.  This was a good decision,  good price, extremely professional in the pickup and delivered on time. No broken items, Cesar and all of the movers were extremely helpful and friendly. I can definitely recommend this movers to anyone that is moving.  .

  7. My move.

I was looking for last minute movers after another company came to pick up my items and wanted to charge me 3 times more than their telephone quote. So I cancelled them and started to look for new movers. I had only 3 days to move my items out of the storage before I get charge for another month. I contacted few company and when I spoke with Diane (representative at 1st generation) I felt I should go with them. They came the next day, the movers were experienced and friendly. I had extra charge of $225 because they needed to pack few fragile items but overall they did a great job. They worked more than 4 hours to load my furniture’s and went straight to OK to deliver. Everything arrive in good shape, they put the beds back together. I was very relief to put this move behind me in such an easy way. So just to say 1st Generation Moving & Storage did a great job and I thank them.

  8. Greedy Unprofessional.

They are greedy and unprofessional people.  I called more than 10 moving companies to compare quotes.  1st Generation Moving gave me a quote almost three times as much as other companies charge me. And that's the only company I remember to tell that I don't have a bed to move.  They even told me they gave me the best discount they can and their quote was based on the exact amount of stuff I have.  How GREEDY.

  9. Worst Moving Experience.

Where to even start?  In addition to a damaged buffet table..

#1. First they ignored my dates and stated they were delivering later that day..5 days early - 5 days before I had the keys to the new lease.  If I didn't not agree, it would be another 2-3 weeks before they'd deliver again.

#2.  I marked a huge space in front of the building.  The driver refused to park there because there was a sign that stated "no thru traffic."  He would not listen to reason about "delivery trucks are not thru trucks". He parked around the corner and charged me $75 for the distance..and basically held or belongings hostage until I went to an ATM and go $75..or he'd come back in 2-3 weeks.

#3. Then he additionally wanted another $75 for the flight of stairs..which was already in my contract free.  I called the owner, handed the driver my phone, who yelled at the owner and then threw my phone across the room..  The owner said the stairs were in the contract, but asked me to pay the $75 for the distance and then claim it so he could reimbursement instead of fighting with the driver..and that he had never used this contract driver before.  (The driver later made it very clear he's been working with this manager some time and hates him).

#4. I reluctantly agreed, but when I went to claim it, the owner refused - I even went so far as to use their worthless dispute service and he basically said it never happened, essentially calling me a liar.

#5.  The driver went and picked up an illegal alien in front of Home Depot (note: the other employee stayed and told me what he was doing!!) Then the driver paid the illegal out of the $75 he charged me for distance and had him haul everything up the stairs!

#6.  Though in the contract that they would not be held responsible for damaged floors, the illegal immigrant who didn't actually work for them, set the metal file cainets down in the doorway and pushed them across the room (wood floors), scraping them all up.

#7.  Then the driver had the audacity to get mad at me for not "providing them drinks and A/C".  I informed him he was 5 days early(!), I just got the keys from the landlord 20 min before they arrived which cost a pretty penny, that in that 20 minutes I didn't call to have the water and electricity turned on early/immediately(!), and they had all my dishes in boxes in their truck!  He finally went to the 711 across the street and purchased them some water with some of the remaining money from the $75 cash he required from me.  This was truly the worst moving experience I have ever had..the management was horrible, the driver was horrible, and their dispute services is worthless.  Save your money and sanity - go elsewhere.  .

  10. Local move in Plano.

1st generation moved my 3 bedroom house 2 days ago , they charged reasonable hourly rate, but the movers were just great.
Cesar was very efficient, since they arrived he took over things –directing each mover to what he should do first.
Jackie estimated over the phone 7 hours to complete the move but they finished it in 6 hours .
They wrapped everything with moving blankets and the beds with the plastic covers.
What I liked the most is the Cesar was doing amazing job and the movers were kind and polite.

  11. Over Priced Slow Movers.

They tell you 4 people will move your stuff but only 3 people move it and 1 sits on the back on the truck doing nothing. They will charge you $100 fuel charge. Whatever time you are quoted add 1 or 2 more hours to your charge. My cost was $100 per hour. I was quoted 3 hours but ended up taking them 5 hours and that did not include the garage only the apartment. The initial quote included everything but I made them just do the apartemnt because they were so slow.  At least nothing got stolen or broke other than my $3500 sofas which got scratched up on the leather edges. If you are in a rush, got the money and time then go ahead. But if you have time then you are better off looking for a better company. Also search the DOT website and check the movers at protect your move website at https://www.protectyourmove.gov/ Also they will not pack your stuff unless you pay more of course. Protecting stuff cost more too.

  12. Great move from TX to CO.

I received my shipment yesterday and after I finished to open all the boxes I would like to thank 1st Generation team.
Since the first time I spoke with Jackie she was very nice and informative over the phone, she sent me a representative for in-home estimate,
and I decided to use them because my brother in-law recommended and because the price was fair.
The movers arrived on time, they were very professional and kind and it seemed to me like they knew what they were doing.
Few days before the delivery I got an email from Hay letting me know the truck is on the way – when they delivered they put each item in place and reassemble the beds back.
Over all I am very pleased with the service !! THANK YOU.

  13. Never Showed Up!

I chose 1st Generation Moving LLC as they were the cheapest quote that I had received.  I worked with Travis on the first day of booking my move and was very happy.  Then when I called back, I never spoke with Travis again, I spoke with Jeremy who was harsh and very rude.  I told him that I would rather speak with Travis and he seemed to calm down and everything seemed to be ok after that.  1 week before my move I called to confirm with him, he told me not to worry and that I would know my moving time on my date of move 48 hours before hand.  I had paid them my deposit of $230.00.  24 hours before my move, I called Jeremy again, he said that the foreman quit and that he promised he would figure out how to get my stuff on a truck.  I had to call 3 times that day, with the promise that he would have someone at my house, when I asked for a time, none was given.  When the moving date showed, no one showed up, no one answered the phone and after repeated calls, and emails, I had to call the fraud department at my bank to recover the money and have reported them to the better buisiness bureau. I would not recommend them unless you want to be stranded day of with no one to move your stuff.  They are dishonest and very unprofessional. .

  14. Unprofessional.

Unfortunately my experience with this company ended worst than it started. At the beginning Jimmy seemed helpful and told us they'd take care of everything and we'd have our belongings within 5-7 business days. But it actually took 11 days. They also refused to send someone out to my house to generate a solid estimate. Did my estimate over the phone with Jimmy, and after the movers finished loading my belongings into the truck they hit me up for all the additional charges. They tried telling me the estimate said we were only moving with 5 boxes, laughable for a across country move, and for all the supplies they used. They repacked alot of our belongings and took apart EVERY single piece of furniture, even the coffee table and tv stand. They didn't take pictures of anything, so when my furniture was delivered the guys had no idea what they were working with. Speaking of that this company outsoources the trucking company and movers who deliver everything. These guys were actually professional and were embarrassed at how 1st generation just threw things together..like chair legs inside the dresser that scratched the inside and left shreds of wood splinter everywhere.Forgot to mention that after they picked up my belongings the communication with Jimmy disappeared. Waited a few days to call him and everytime we called he had no idea where our belongings were and said he'd call us back.Every single time he said this he never called us back. We had to call him daily for lackluster updates. I would never recommend this company to anyone. I thought we were doing the best thing going with a small/local business. That was a mistake, your better off going with the larger companies because they've had more practice at running a business and better insure your belongings.

  15. Good service.

I used 1st generation moving company to relocate my mother from TX to MS.
everything went well very simple move.

    Thank you all.
