  1. Life Savers!!

AB MOVERS saved my move !! I was stood up by another company (Houston Move for Less - no call no show) and at the last minute I had to find a new moving company. I explained my situation and the worked with me to accommodate a special rate and even threw in a 3rd man for free! The AB Movers provided a courtesy call, showed up on time, completed my “two locations to the 3rd floor” move in 2.5 hours!!
I actually spent about the same amount of money as I would have with the first movers.. giving that I gave them a very generous tip!!

At any rate if you are looking for great movers contact AB Movers: Brandon Forward 281-570-7383

Thanks AB MOVERS!! I will continue to refer your services FOREVER!

  2. Did not honor a contract and left the job without working.

Jan 16th, Mr Mike from Houston AB Moving company called me at least 4 times with an offer to move my apartment for a flat rate special of $299 for 3 men 3 hour for a job on Jan 18th (arrival time in between 11am - 1pm) from zip code 77598 to 77084. We agreed on contract because he sounded confident and professional at first

On jan 18th, I called mike at 12.30 pm to confirm that the movers are coming and he tells me that they are running an hour late that the original time set of 11-1pm. After patiently waiting for  hour, I call them back at 1.30 pm and left Mike a voicemail and requested him to return my call.

At 3.00 pm, my patience ran out and I called him back and he informs me that the movers should be arriving in 30 mins and they will call once they are 15 mins away from the apartment

At 4.00 pm, the movers call me and inform me that they will be arriving in 1 hour. I.e. by 5:00 pm which is 4 hours late than the original agreed time. I try to reach Mike from AB moving company and as expected, he didn't answer my call even after leaving him a new voicemail

At 5.00 pm, the movers arrive and, I have never seen so untidy people. They were sweating from top to bottom with one guy not wearing his T-shirt and other guy spitting all over the apartment property. One mover looked almost seemed to be 14 year old (although I cannot confirm it because I didn't ask him for an I.D). I requested them to behave professionally since my Wife was at home and it is highly unacceptable to behave this way.

They started walking upstairs with me and reaching up the third floor, the mover shows me his contract and says that this was supposed to be on second floor and not third. So to resolve the conflict, I called Mike (again), and fortunately, this time he did answer his phone and confirmed that the job was from 3rd floor - 3rd floor. He said he will talk to the movers and get back to me.

After an hour long conversation, and intimidation from the movers to pay more, the movers declined to work and left the job unattended.

To summarize AB Moving company - Unprofessional, Untidy, Uninformed, Rude, Worthless.
They left me and my wife and walked away from a job even after a singed contract which clearly says 3rd floor - 3rd floor

After all this, I called the Main Branch of AB Moving somewhere in Dallas and the manager in turn started with his false accusations of me cursing at the movers which apparently was the reason for them leaving which never even happened.

DO NOT IN ANY CONDITION USE THESE MOVERS.

  3. Missed move window then destroyed washer.

I had scheduled a move for 12:30 - 3 on Thursday, August 29 with AB Moving.  Due to some issues our lender misplacing a signed form that was needed, we ended up delayed.  I was told our closing would be pushed back to 2 PM, at which point I called and asked if it was possible to push my move back or ensure they would not arrive until 3 PM.  I was told that there was a truck with a flat and everyone was running behind and I couldn't be fit in later that day, but I could move to Friday, Aug. 30, between 4 – 7 PM.  I agreed to that move date and time and noted to contact me if anything happened to open up Thursday, making sure to note I had to be out of my storage facility by end of month.  I did not hear from AB Moving again until I contacted them Friday at 5 PM to confirm I was on the schedule and they would not be past 7 PM since I was moving out of an unlit storage facility.  I was assured I was and they would call me when 30 minutes out.  .  I had left work early to change and be ready to get over to our storage location as soon as they called.  As 7 PM approached I headed over to the storage facility to ensure I would not hold them up as we would now be working against the sun setting and lack of light.  At 7:40, I got a call stating they did not know where the drivers where or how far out and he (the dispatcher) was trying to track them down.  I told him that there was no light once the sun went down at this storage facility and that it was setting so I needed them quickly.  I also stated that if I didn't get out of the unit I had to pay for another month.  He called back 10 minutes later (now 7:50) to report they were an hour out and maybe could get there around 9 PM (after sundown).  I told him there was no point and it wouldn't be safe to move try and move unless they were equipped with spotlights.  He said he would see what he could do Saturday.  I requested Saturday morning as I already had plans Saturday that I could not reschedule.  When he called back I was only offered late Saturday, and that was not a firm commitment just an “if they could squeeze me in”.  I ended up having to schedule for Sunday and pay $144.00 because AB Moving did not meet their contracted appointment time window    Sunday, three men arrived within the time I had been given.  They did work quickly.  They did not, however, work extremely safely or carefully, choosing to forgo the appliance dolly that was sitting on the ground.  While moving my washing machine they apparently (I did not see what happened as I wasn't watching them at the time and only heard the crash) lost their balance while heading up the ramp to the truck and the washing machine toppled over onto the front.  The damage to the machine was extensive.  The electrical is completely shot and I was advised by four washing machine repair men it was not worth trying to fix.  The piece that holds the drum in cracked where the screws hold it down and it doesn't function any longer, the body is cracked and scratched and dented.  The entire electrical compartment has broken loose; the water drain in the back broke loose so if you try and attach a drain hose it just recedes into the washer.  All this to say it is shot, forcing us to purchase a new washer.  Our model is not available so we had to purchase another washer for $800 to get a comparable quality washer (the one that was broken was 1299.00 when new six years ago).     I am now out $944 (144 800) due to negligence of AB Moving.  I understand things happen, I also understand that the standard insurance required is measured in pounds and doled out at $0.60 per lb, but I am now out $944 because of AB Movings lack of ability to meet a contract and negligence by their crew while loading (it is one thing to take proper precautions and have an accident, it is another to have an accident when not using the available proper precautions even though you advertise you are professional trained movers who will take every precaution).  .

  4. Nightmare Move.

~ Movers arrived late, 9:30 when it was scheduled for 8am on 5/30/13

~ Movers were unable to communicate in English with me

~ Movers brought a very small moving truck, not what was quoted to me.

~ Movers did not stay while other crew with bigger truck came to move.  Instead, they left.

~ Second crew did not show up until 11am (3 hours past confirmed move time).

~ Second crew did not efficiently load the truck or I was quoted wrong size truck, because everything did not fit

~ Movers took over an hour to get back to my house for the second load when it was only 20 minutes away.

~ Movers left my son's dresser on it's side and not set up.

~ Movers placed furniture in the front room or garage instead of placing them in proper places

~ Movers placed boxes wherever instead of marked places

~ Every break I had during the stressful  move, I was having to call AB moving office and find out what is going on and demand better customer service.  I would be on hold for 5 minutes at a time many times throughout the day.

~ Owner of moving company not able to reach out and communicate with me himself to apologize and did not accept my offer to compromise.

  5. Do Not Use Them!

DO NOT USE THEM FOR YOUR MOVE! I have never been treated so poorly in all my life. The manager called to bring his movers out of the rain while they were in mid-move from my apartment.  When, I called him saying I had to be out by midnight, the manager actually yelled at me and called me a b^tch!  Wow!  All b/c I wanted them to finish my move (which was completely protected from the weather.  So, they had to unpack the van and leave me completely stranded.  Hello, it's a one-bedroom apartment - it would have taken them like 30 mins to do the whole move.  Well, they unpacked in a hurry and broke/damaged/scratched TONS of things of mine. My boyfriend called the manager back and the manager threatened to kick his a$$.  Uh, real professional (?//).  Simply b/c I wanted them to complete the job I hired them for.  Well, they left me stranded, didn't care, and the manager cursed at me and my boyfriend.  DO NOT USE THEM. So unprofessional.

  6. A and b movers.

Truck broke down twice on the 2 moves we had booked,Darlene kept saying truck on the way so we stayed in Austin all day at the house waiting for nothing , then they were coming Sunday and was 2 hrs late .Didnt want same crew sent same peiople 2 man crew.Truck broke down in san antonio and austin.Mike was outstanding..

  7. AB Moving.

I found AB Moving on a moving company rating website and decided to use them based on their very reasonable price quote, relatively high customer ratings, and local proximity in Carrollton, TX.

They proved to be an excellent choice as they arrived on time, got everything packed and loaded on the truck incredibly fast, and then got everything unloaded at my new house 10 miles away. From the time they arrived at my old home to the time they left at my new home was only 3 hours! Since they charge by the hour, the cost was actually lower than I expected at only $292. My only complaint, and it's a minor one, is that their 3 movers were packing my stuff so fast that I had to stop them a couple of times so that I did not lose track of the items they were packing (the 3 movers were all Hispanic and did not speak good English). Overall, they did the job very well, very quickly, and at a very reasonable price.
