  1. Overall Performance.

Hire generally good, young people. Young = inexperienced. Poorly supervised and will try to muscle anything. In the process your furniture and home will be damaged. We had a very heavy object to move. They sent 4 men, instead of 6 promised. They sent an appliance cart! instead of the heavy duty cart promised. Totally inadequate. No other equipment. They borrowed our tape measure for openings, since they didn't bring one. When 4 of them couldn't muscle it, they asked us why we didn't hire professional movers for the job; they only move furniture and sofas.

A manager was out to look at the setup the week before and approved everything we were doing.

Totally unprepared and unsupervised. If you are doing anything other than simple furniture, be prepared for surprises and damage. And don't blame their people. They are generally courteous and will try hard. Their entire problem is management that will not manage and insure that what is done is what you wanted done. Management is looking at money, not satisfied customers.

  2. Black Belt Movers.

We used Black Belt before and they were wonderful. They USED to be aware and careful of what they moved. They also used to follow up and care about their customers. Not anymore. They damaged a few pieces of furniture and then we filed a claim. Their communication email was far removed from apologizing and recognizing their error. I will not recommend them after this move.

  3. Avoid at all costs!

Heard good things about ninjas, so booked a small load of furniture for 97 yr old mother. Beware: whole job less than hour of labor w/ 15 min drive from home to destination, but charge for time it takes to drive TO your place + after work is done, charge for approx drive time back to wherever. Doubles cost. What a scam! Also have slow-down techniques once on site. Instead of starting to unload at delivery site, all 3 made trip into the assisted living facility to see it. Time-killer that cost little old lady precious $. Style: slick-talking slow mo, not ninjas. Hire fire-fighters. They have a conscience.

  4. Worst Move Service to date and the nightmare continues..

I am giving one star because negative stars are not an option.

THE GOOD: The crew showed up on time, and were very friendly.

THE BAD: The crew claimed they could not fit all of my items on the truck and insisted my move required 2 trips. They saved my sectional for last and then claimed it wouldn't fit. Perhaps they were just inexperienced, was my thought at the time because the other 3 moving companies I've worked with were all able to complete the move with one 26 foot truck and in one trip. The other companies all put the sectional in first, since it's large. I have the exact same furniture as the other moves with NO additional items..AND *the truck sure did not appear to be full to me* but hey, OK Black Belt Movers, its going to take 2 trips. I figured ok, this will cost me about an hour and a half more than I anticipated but no big deal. BIG DEAL-because in addition to it being strung out into 2 trips I noticed a distinct difference in the speed and activity level of the crew. Upon arrival they were moving quickly and seemed to be about business! But after awhile I found myself more times than I liked--considering I was being charged $150 per hour--wondering where they were and what they were doing, only to find them standing around outside in or around the truck just conversing. My move that previously cost me around $700 with 3 other local companies, all with comparable rates and the same size truck as Black Belt Movers turned into a $1500 move with Black Belt. Not pleased. But oh they didn't stop there.

THE UGLY: the crew tore the lining of the Pella Sliding door of the house I moved into, and dropped/destroyed a large LED TV. They were aware of this and promised I'd be contacted by the company for them to make arrangements to repair the door, and that I'd be reimbursed for my TV. That didn't happen. I reached out to them by phone and was told someone would be out to assess and repair the door, and a check was in the mail for my TV. That didn't happen. I reach out to them again and am told to text pics of the door. I do this and am told parts are ordered and someone will be out to repair the door in a few days and my check has been mailed for the TV. No one ever shows for the door, and no check ever arrives. I have called, texted, and emailed so many times, dealing with Matt, Nick, Dillon, Tim, Shawna and Paul. My move was on 08/24/18 and to date 11//13/18 no repairs have been done and still no check received.

SIDE NOTE: this company bad mouths other local companies such as All My Sons and Two Men and a Truck--both the dispatch and the crew from Black Belt had SO many negative comments about their competitors. But I WISH I had used them vs the HORRENDOUS dealings I've had with Black Belt Movers. The others moved me in a reasonable amount of time and either did not cause any damages or addressed the damages they did cause. Which is all I've asked Black Belt Movers to do. But they just can't seem to manage that.

  5. Moving Service Review.

Had a move completed on 4/13/2018. Movers broke a 55" flat screen TV and a wood desk. After submitting claims for both management came back and said since the TV was not crated they would not be able to cover the TV. Did not even mention the desk, which I had to remind them of and ask for a status. Rep said they would go look for that claim. Now have some fairly expensive items I have to replace due to the negligence of the movers. Will not use them again and have let the people who asked us who we used to know NOT use this company and why. There better companies out there that will stand by there move and make a situation right when they are at fault. This is not that company. Poor service during and post move.

  6. Black Belt Blows.

Black Belt Movers moved my son's furniture for $600 to a storage locker and then a couple of months later they charged $900 to move the same furniture back to a new house which was closer to the storage locker. Major rip off !! Do not use this rip off company!!

  7. Bad experience!

I would not recommend this mover to anyone. Absolutely careless.

    A. Despite the fact that they had done an inhouse inspection of the volume of the move prior to the move date, on the move day, the movers showed up with a small truck. Resulting in 2 trips. Since they charge by the hour, this automatically increased the move cost.

    B. While moving the dresser up the stairs they banged into the dry wall, leaving a dent in the brand new construction. This is not the first time I have had movers move the same dresser up the stairs.. this particular mover is the only one who messed up.

    C. They left one of the beds unassembled.. and put the mattress on top so that we would not know that the slats beneath were lose. I had to redo the whole thing myself

    D. They left scratch marks on the walls, as they moved the furniture

    E. To top it all when I brought the issue of truck: wall dent; scratched wall to their attention.. they very casually responded with 'these things happen'.

  8. Mover Beware! Thieves!

Mover beware! These guys are THIEVES! Black Belt Movers stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from my family. I have tried to be patient while dealing with them and give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they hired a bad apple, right? Unfortunately, that does not appear to be the case. It has been over 2 weeks now since the theft has happened and I have only received one phone call from the company after waiting over 12 hours for them to respond to me. During that call they basically called me a liar. The message they are sending has been heard loud and clear, They don't care if their employees steal from their customers as long as they don't get caught.

  9. Excellent Move.

I moved from Omaha to Lincoln and used Black Belt Movers to do so. They were awesome. They showed up when they said they would, they were courteous and helpful, and best of all moved everything very quickly. The final cost came in about $50 under the estimate, and their estimate was one of the lowest I received. None of my stuff was damaged at all. They made moving super easy. I will absolutely use them the next time I move.
