  1. Thank you to GPS Moving for your excellent service.

My husband and I wish to thank GPS Moving for the excellent service and support they provided for our move from San Diego, Ca to Wilmington, N.C. They were always pleasant and informative with any questions we had and their rates are comparably reasonable. They even provided storage services for several months during the time we were searching for a house to buy in North Carolina. They sent us an email in advance to inform us when the next storage payment was due. When we bought our new home they delivered our furniture in a timely manner and the furniture was in good condition. I can only say great things about GPS moving. If we had to do it again GPS would be our first choice as a moving company. We highly recommend GPS Moving and Storage company. Joan Ross.

  2. Move from Los Angeles area to South Florida.

We used GPS to move from the Los Angeles area to South Florida, and are very satisfied with the services. Vanessa, our contact, was extremely helpful and professional, and very pleasant to work with. She patiently answered our questions and walked us through the process. When we pointed out some inconsistencies in the quote, she immediately addressed those, working late, and the issue was solved to our satisfaction. She was readily available by telephone and email, other people in the office knew our business and helped out too, so we felt well supported. Our move across the country took barely more than a week. Again, while we had access to the driver by text and phone, Vanessa assisted us with the communication.
Except for some minor damage to a few items, everything arrived in perfect condition. I would definitely use GPS again.

  3. The worse Moving Company ever.

We used GPS to move from San Diego to Virginia and it was the worse experience we ever had with a moving company, they broken several furniture and lost several boxes. Stay away from this company, they want only your money, if you are luck and nothing happen, good for you otherwise you will be dealing with rats, as they do not care about you at all. their score at BBB means nothing and BBB will not help you at all. You are by your self. Stay away from this company and look for a real reputable company. Please take my advise as I am experimenting this very low profile company.

  4. Andrew Burke.

    *UPDATE*

We have discussed the issues we had with our move with Tammy. GPS acknowledged the issues we had and we were able to come to resolution to help replace the items that went missing. GPS did do their due diligence to find some missing items and shipped them from CA to NY. Since we received our missing items/resolution for items not found I am changing my review from 1 star to 3 stars.

    *ORIGINAL REVIEW*

I will outline our experience with GPS. Vanessa was our account coordinator and did a good job assisting us with obtaining a quote for our move from San Diego to New York City. I probably requoted about 2 or 3 times and she turned a quote around to us in a timely manner each time. After final quote our cost was about $3300. Day of move the movers arrived on time and there were about 5 movers tasked to move our boxes and furniture. Movers were professional and from what I could see did a good job loading and unloading and respecting items that were marked glass or fragile. Our box count was over what was quoted so our moving cost was raised to about $3700 which was fair based on the assessment done by the movers. Our items were picked up 7/30/2018 and I was told by the movers that our items would be delivered within 7 - 14 days. The reason we would not recommend GPS is due to not receiving our items until 9/5/2018 (37 DAYS LATER).

In the time between we would check in with Abe to see why our items weren't in transit. The first time my wife called he would not let her talk and just spoke over her and hung up on her. Second time my father called to see if there would be any offer of compensation for late delivery (We were estimated 7-14 days by our movers but our contract outlined that delivery could take up to 21 business days, this was still not met). Abe said it was our fault because he was unable to book our service elevator (it was already booked) in our building to deliver on the 21st business day. The problem is that he was sent information a week and a half before then that said he would need to book the elevator a week in advanced. He tried to book it the night before on labor day weekend (yeah good luck with that). We told Abe that the items were late due to his inability to deliver on time but he continued to say there would be no compensation, "not his fault". We told him that we were planning on writing an honest review and was not happy with the service we were receiving and he viewed it as a threat and said he would not be threatened.

Day of delivery was ok. We had 3 movers that had to double park their truck so we were forced to put a deposit down for a parking ticket before the move. We were only charged extra for distance to move from truck to elevator but within the contract terms this was fair. By the time our items arrived we were missing a few things (1 box, shelf inserts to our tv stand, and a laundry basket with our bed comforter in it). The missing box was found to still be in San Diego and was shipped over. The items had to be packaged into new boxes since the original was thrashed and destroyed in their possession. When we received our shipped items our $300 Bluetooth speaker was missing. Please reference update regarding missing items.

  5. Smooth move.

During our company relocation last fall, I was tasked with the job of locating a professional out of state moving company. Following many recommendations, I settled on GPS Moving and crossed my fingers for a smooth relocation process. I have to admit that they received my inquiry very well, and gave us professional yet warm service from the quoting stage to the final unpacking stage. I also have to commend their packing crew who were super efficient and very personable. Thumbs up GPS Moving!

  6. My Move from Cali to MD.

Let me say up front that GPS Moving and Storage provided me with excellent service from pick up in Los Angeles, CA to delivery in Baltimore, MD. Their packers in Cali carefully wrapped my most prized possessions as if they were their very own. Not only were they careful, but they moved with a quickness at the same time. Then upon delivery in MD, a different team moved with the same carefulness and quickness. Having had a terrible experience with another company that moved me less than 5 miles 16 years ago that left me traumatized, I did an extensive amount of research, including going onto the Department of Transportation website. After considering more than 20 companies, I finally entrusted my most valued possessions to GPS, and I'm glad that I did. All of my furniture arrived in the same condition as when they picked it up. I wholeheartedly recommend GPS for all of your moving needs.

  7. Movement of Goods from Irvine to Houston.

Excellently managed and Good Deliveries. Specially thanks to Tammy and Michelle all the time . Also thanks to support members for taking care of the same.

  8. Always great service!

A few years back I used GPS moving and storage to move from California to North Carolina. And I had a great experience! Now it was time to move my parents back to North Carolina to live with us . When I called In for a quote they knew who I was and it was like talking to friends ( I even have the same rep as the first time I planed the move). I want to take the time to thank you for making this transition for my parents smooth, fast, stress free and affordable.

  9. The worst Experience possible.

Horrible service.. Between them and their partner company (Moving Mania from Florida) they botched the cross country move in every way. They are rude. They delivered late. There were 5 boxes missing. The were 2 broken mirrors. Both headboards of the two bedroom sets shipped were broken/ruined. More than 3/4 of the glassware was broken. There was one box (full of perishables) which didn't even belong to me. Plenty of items missing/stolen from drawers like: 2 watches (seiko and Armani) a pandora bracelet, an iPod, and more.. You can tell that obviously they rummaged through our drawers. It was horrible service. Just horrible.

  10. Awesome service.

Moving cross country was very scary. I was not sure what to expect but the girls in the office just made my family and I feel so comfortable and we're very please with the service we got from beginning to end. Abe was amazing and gave us so many tips on how to save. The movers worked so hard and were very respectful. The great thing about GPS Moving was on pick up day before any work was done Tony came in and reevaluated our inventory and let us know before we signed any paperwork that our price had went down by a couple hundred dollars. We were very pleased to hear that. Delivery was just as great. We had no damages and the guys did such an amazing job even having to shuttle our belongings to Manhattan. We would not have been able to make this move possible without the help from GPS Moving. From start to finish they were on top of our needs and completed the move with quality work and great customer service. We would recommend GPS Moving to any of our friends and family moving cross country. Thank you GPS employees for making our new journey in the big city an amazing start.

  11. GPS Moving.

Prior to the day of our move, September 4, 2014, Abe came over to our house and estimated our cubic space and gave us a price estimate.  We told him that we were looking at another company as well, who were going to pack for us as well.  To help seal the deal, Abe offered to include a pack job with the move if we went with GPS.  He assured us that all items would be wrapped, packed, and boxes would have a complete inventory list along with proper labeling.  Abe made us feel very comfortable and assured us that we were in good hands.

The day that our move was scheduled to be packed and loaded, the movers arrived close to 1 hour late.  Having driven up to Los Angeles from San Diego, we could see how this is possible.  However, they did contact us to advise us of their being behind schedule. Upon their arrival, the packing began promptly and furniture was wrapped first.  There were inconsistencies in the items that had doors/drawers taped and secured before they were wrapped and those that didn’t. We had damage to several items-one specifically where the door had been snapped off at the hinges.

Most of this furniture was purchased fairly recently before the move and no longer looks or feels new. Our baby’s crib was dismantled and packed with the front wooden rail apparently packed against the spring or something metal, so it arrived scraped up across the entire front.  There were a few fragile irreplaceable inherited items that didn’t make it either, due to improper packing.  Our media center, that was brand new, arrived with damaged corners across the three piece item.  The shelves were damaged on the corners, where it was plain to see by the damage that they had been dropped.

So many boxes were packed with a deliberate lack of care that we have to question how anyone would expect the items inside to arrive undamaged.  Boxes of fragile items were thrown together with no packing materials.  One box, that we packed ourselves and labeled “fragile”, arrived with a huge gouge out of the box.

The professionalism of some of the packers was in question too.  The mover contracted from the LA area brought his family to pack.  It was obvious that his sons and wife were not professional movers and should not have been permitted to be working the job.  Not only did this factor into an unsatisfactory packing job, but it slowed down the entire process.  To have to listen to him yell at his sons throughout the day continued to make us feel uncomfortable and did not make us feel as confident in the professional company that we hired.

The movers that delivered our items here on the Georgia end were great; they were apologetic about the broken items and did their best to place boxes in the correct rooms and area which was difficult as about 75% of the boxes were not itemized or labeled from which room they were packed.  This left us to go through every box after the movers left and move them again to the proper room to be unpacked.

Lastly, scheduling a delivery date for our items to be removed from storage and sent to us here in Georgia was a bit of a headache.  It took several days of calling to receive an arrival date.  We believe this to be not of the norm and situational to our case. Being a small family owned business, we understand that Monica was in the office by herself and she certainly seemed apologetic when we did speak to her.

In general, the feeling that we have about GPS is that MUCH more care could and should have been taken.  Regardless of our decision to purchase additional insurance we did not anticipate GPS to handle this job so poorly.  We have been told by GPS that they have made changes to their moving staff and area contractors after the problem with our move.  Although we wanted more, GPS has worked with us and we have negotiated a resolution.

  12. Great work from a challenging client.

I give a great thumbs up for the GPS moving team for handling my cross country move.  I moved my furniture from California to the east coast.  I initially told them Florida, but then left the country for 3 months and told them to hold my furniture.  I then extended the trip to three more months and changed the delivery location. I then extended for another month and changed the delivery location again.  I then made a last minute change and changed the delivery location a final time.  This sounds chaotic even to me, but the GPS team was able to handle these changes with a smile.  They met the mark.  Their job was to get my stuff to me wherever I end up being and they did just that, without damage, without added cost and without excuses.  Just Did It!  I am very grateful.

  13. Moving Results.

We recently had to move alot of items from California to New Jersey.  Basically a 26 ft. van would be completely filled up.  The thought of the move was overwhelming.  However, once I contacted GPS it became evident to me immediatey upon speaking to Tammy, the coordinator in the office, I knew they were the ones for the job.  I had gone on-line looking for a company that would be able to accommodate us since we had a very small window of time, to meet, decide and move.  We had less than 3 days for the decision making.  To do, not to do, do later, etc.  Once we found out that Abe the Dispatch Manager would actually meet us at the site where everything was located, it was a big relief.  The reason for this is because every other company (and there were at least 10) would not take the time or make the effort to meet.  They would email a form that had to be completely filled out, item by item and nothing less. Once we met with Abe he laid out the entire process and made us feel confident that this job could be done in a timely and most efficient manner.  We were correct. Once the truck showed up for the delivery in New Jersey, they got busy fast.  They came in an 18 wheeler, friendly, efficient and very fast.  They had called me two days prior to alert me to the time frame, then the day before and also instructed the method of payment that would be expected at time of delivery, etc.  As easy as it was at the beginning, the end result was excellent as well.   Anyway, I cannot say enough about this company.  Hire them fo your moving needs you will not be disapointed!!    .

  14. GPS Moving and STorage.

We recently moved from CA to TN. I contacted several moving companies and chose GPS.
I am very happy that I did.
Tammy was great. She walked me on the phone to decides what we would be moving.
The estimate was surprisingly accurate. The final price was very fair.
There were a few schedule changes necessary due to changing closing dates on my home.
Tammy always did her best to accommodate. Her earlier reviews that I read were right on.
However the ones on the drivers and helpers were dead wrong.  Different groups on each side of move and
they were both outstanding.  Hard working and caring teams that did a great job. Nothing broken or lost.
They were all very professional and very friendly.
I highly recommend GPS to everyone!
    Thanks, Bruce.

  15. Highly Recommend GPS Moving of Santee, CA.

I give GPS Moving a Five Star rating! The entire staff, moving team and truck driver helped me through a very emotional cross country move. After only a few days of the unexpected death of my mother, I had to arrange the move of her antique bedroom set and other miscellaneous items from San Diego CA to Northern VA. Being prior military, I never had to select movers and I really didn’t have time to go through a lengthy interview process. I had to have my mother’s things out of her retirement apartment very quickly. From the moment I spoke to Tammy on the phone and explained my urgency GPS delivered. I was a bit thrown off by them accepting only cash or US Postal Money Order’s on delivery, but once Tammy explained why they have this procedure in place, it made perfect sense to me. The packing team arrived on time and meticulously wrapped each piece of furniture. Tammy was extremely patient as I kept calling back adding items because I kept finding things of my mother’s that I could not part with during the move. After all was loaded onto the local truck, I was assured my items would be kept at GPS Moving’s warehouse until loaded onto the semi to come east. This was a HUGE plus for me, because all the damage I have had in past military moves was when my items were stored by separate companies. The truck driver called me twice while in route to Virginia at which time we discussed access into my neighborhood for his truck and available parking. The driver reminded me of the payment options, which I thought was helpful even though I had already secured my US Postal Money Orders. The truck driver and co-rider arrived within the time frame they gave me and quickly and carefully unloaded all my items. I am also very pleased to announce NOTHING was damaged!   I would highly recommend GPS Moving to anyone who wants an honest, professional and safe move.
