  1. Florida to Hawaii sucked

I sent 25 pieces from Central Florida to Hawaii. Only 20 pieces showed up! Claims were hard to complete and confusing! The “Crate” for my motorcycle was a failure, only than did I realize that the insurance I bought was a “complete loss” policy. Never did find my pieces

  2. Peace of Mind

From the first phone call to the delivery of my items, the entire process blew my expectations away. I was shipping very fragile items (Grandfather Clock, China Cabinet, Statue) so Chris recommended that I get these crated and everything arrived in one piece at the time frame that I was given. The movers were professional, fast and efficient and they set everything down throughout my home. I will definitely be using them again if I ever move out of Maui.

  3. Not so good

Hawaii to AZ. Packers were great, very careful with art pieces, well padded, efficient. Driver and unloader was great, helpful...somewhere in the middle of the trip, so many boxes were squished! Lots of broken glasses and plates, and one art piece, large, lost somewhere. Three boxes were about 1/3 crushed, even when marked fragile and glass. Very disappointing. An irreplaceable work of wooden art. We didn't take extra insurance as we have moved many times without problem. many broken items, which don't weigh much, so not worth filing the paper work...sad experience.

  4. AMAZING MOVING COMPANY

Michael is AMAZING! He offered me not only the best customer service but he gave me the best deal, almost $3,000 cheaper than other companies !! I mentioned too him how important my grandfather clock was to me and he made sure the movers took the weights out of the clock and wrapped it safely. I will recommend him too friends and family!

  5. Hawaii moving pros was godsend!

First of all this review is long overdue! Chris helped me put together a reasonable moving quote and i accepted. there were many other companies gunning for my business but they took there time to go over all the details and explain everything. I appreciate your help and im so glad i choose them! thank you HAWAII MOVING PROS!!

  6. Aggravated from being lied to start to finish

I’d give negative 100 if I can. One star is way to much. This company from the start lied to us. They told us the wrong date we would get our belongings up until the day of delivery. Everyone we spoke to lied up on lied NO NOT USE THEM unless you want a heart attack from being posed off and without your stuff for 45 “business days” everyone who said they helped lied. No did anything for us. Use royal Hawaiian. I wish I did.

  7. Pick a different mover

I have dealt with a lot of moving companies (married to former service member) and this one is by far the worst. I, too, was reeled in by the number of 5 star reviews on this site-I saw the 1 star reviews, but figured they canceled out. I am completely baffled why those 5-star people had received good service but my experience was amazingly awful.

    In summary:

    A) we had 61 items, they lost 2. That's a 3.3% loss rate, so unless you want to lose 3.3% of your property (roll the dice! clothes? books? dishes? furniture?), this is not the company for you.

    B) I have spoke with about 15 different agents over the course of my move. Every single communication had to happen multiple times (3-5+), in multiple ways (text, e-mail, phone, fillable online forms), and with multiple people who did not communicate with each other, so I would be contacted again that day or the next by a new person who had no idea what was going on. For example, due to the pandemic, after they picked up our household goods, I notified them that I needed to have everything in storage as our move had been delayed and we were not in O'ahu to receive the delivery. I received a phone call, text, or e-mail every few weeks, FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS, notifying me that they were about to load my things into a container bound for O'ahu. Every time I explained the situation, sometimes to the same person, that my things were supposed to be in storage in L.A., and I had been paying $250 per month storage fee. (or was it $305? the billing text / e-mail alternated between the two values, I always just paid $250). Another example: I have spoken with 3 different people (in addition to the delivery crew) over the past 4 days about the missing items. I have described the items twice over the phone, once in writing, and I noted them on the delivery paperwork. I'm getting a new call every day from someone else who wants to ask me boiler plate questions about how my move went and then act surprised and offer boilerplate platitudes when I tell them not very well since they lost my stuff and then offer to e-mail me the instructions that contain the instructions and e-mail address to request the reimbursement form that I have to fill out. I keep asking if there is some way they can look for my stuff, and they keep telling me "yeah, we'll look then call you back." It is seriously getting absurd.

    C) I packed all my boxes myself and I was very careful (as I mentioned, this isn't my first rodeo) but as other reviewers have noted, they smash/crush/break A LOT, especially rubbermaid totes that they will load onto their sides and stack heavy things on top of (I saw exactly how the truck was packed when they arrived at my new house). Those totes aren't designed to be structurally sound on their sides- they crack, crush, or the tops pop off, even if taped well. I had a cardboard box of artwork that I labeled on all sides 'FRAGILE' with arrows indicating which end was up. Guess what? the box was crushed sideways and someone actually scribbled out the arrows indicating the top of the box and drew new arrows in the wrong direction. Seriously? Who does that? By some miracle, nothing in that box was broken. Thank goodness for excessive packing.

    D) FYI, they calculate the actual cubic footage of your move piece by piece and round up to the nearest cubic foot for each piece. So, if you have the medium size Home Depot box (22" x 16" x 15" = 5,280 cubic inches = 3.05 cubic feet) that actually counts as 4 cubic feet. Doesn't sound like a big deal, but trust me, it adds up.

    E) This is not a cheap option. We didn't even move much. I spoke with a coworker who did a PODS and paid about the same as we did for the move, minus the frustration and the lost things. I will definitely explore that option in the future.

In conclusion, I don't know how bad the other moving companies are, but I don't recommend this one.

  8. Long Distance move to Kona, HI.

I read the negative reviews on this company and decided the positive outweigh the negative. I was wrong! I discovered that companies actually pay for positive reviews.

We decided not to ship in boxes and used heavy duty totes instead. This company still managed to break multiple lids and actually bend and break totes. We received damage items and more importantly they "misplaced" our expensive synthesizer.

Customer service will not return calls or emails at this point. Jazmine and Carly was very professional and polite until we made the final payment.

Fortunately, I did not sign their agreement to settle for sixty cents per pound if something is damaged or missing. I have no choice but to pursue legal actions.

Do yourself a favor and find another company.

    Mike G.

    Moving cost $5200.00.

  9. Moving from NJ.

The only limitation of my comment is ghe communication preceeding the move. The packing and loading of the house was otherwise made by a fantastic crew having Carlos as a foreman. He was excellent in his communication witv us and his team, was very much attentive to our questions or requests, and his team was extremely cautious re the card of our goods, the respect of distanciation. They were all very polite, kind and respectful and it was a remarkable experience for us. I wish for them to be at our destination for the unpacking. Ghey worked very hard, in tough weather, but remain calm and smiling all along. They were the best part of the house sale and move. They are true professionals!! I hope they will be given a chance to see ghis review as a boost. They definitely deserve it. Tons of respect on our end for their behavior. We wish more people would have their commandable attitude. The administeative staff for the move in NJ was equally responsible and pleasant. Kuddos to All.

  10. Hawaii Moving Pro rip-offs.

Professional rip offs.. They are great, almost overbearing, until they get your items and then you can’t get hold of them, they never call you back, you can talk to 5 people and still not get your issue handled. They will always tell you that someone will call you back, if you have a problem but no one ever does. They over charged me and then told me that I could get a refund but after that NO ONE ever called me back. It has been 11 months and today I tried again to see if I could talk to the owner before doing something like leaving this kind of review.

“Michael” answered again, first he transferred me to a mail box that wanted the mailbox number, which, of course, “Michael” didn’t give to me before he so rudely transferred me to that number. Then when I called back, he didn’t answer and when I called a 3rd time he hung up on me after asking me for my order number and then would not answer when I tried to call back again. I have tried for 11 months to resolve my issue with them but they won’t ever call me back or let me speak with the owner or with someone who CAN DO something so I now feel like it is my responsibility to let people know that THIS IS NOT THE COMPANY TO USE when you are moving.. and on social media I will be posting pictures of my boxes to further discourage people from becoming their next victim. I will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

I wish I had seen these reviews before I gave them my money.

I left one star because it won’t let me remove it. Worst moving company, use someone else.

  11. Best moving company.

It took me sometime to leave this review. But, I have to give credit where credit is due. I was on the fence about moving companies but Hawaii Moving pros made me believer. I got a quote from Jerry Love He always was available to answer any questions that I had. The movers showed up and move very fast and they were polite. I highly recommend using Hawaii moving pros for your next move. Ask for Jerry or Michael two of the best at what they do. I will be using them again on my next move. Thanks Hawaii Moving Pros.

  12. Amazing customer service.

Michael is THE best customer service rep in the business! He answered all of my questions in a timely manner, I didn’t feel rushed, and he gave me a fantastic deal ($5,000 cheaper than other companies) The process was easy, stress free, and convenient. All my questions were answered & I had an order number within 10 minutes in full detail. I will definitely be recommending Michael to friends/family looking to relocate. ASK FOR MICHAEL TO GET THE BEST RATE!!

  13. Worst moving experience of my life.

This is hands down the worst experience moving I have ever had. I never write reviews but this company has been nothing but a hassle to deal with.

First of all quoting me way to high, so I told them I was going to go with another company. They then call me back and say they will beat the price by $50 which sounds great so I decided to go with them. While packing up my small 1 bedroom with NO BIG Furniture they start charging extra on every piece that wasn't listed (small rug, microwave, a few other items that were not big). I ended up not moving a lot of my stuff because of them trying to up charge.

Second, they try to charge an extra fee for insuring the items. Saying they wont replace anything if it is damaged. The fee they quote (AFTER already shipping my stuff) is way too high so I decline it and I'm just praying my stuff arrives in good condition.

Third, This is a move from Seattle to Honolulu. I haven't heard anything for 4 weeks and have been waiting anxiously to get my stuff as I have been couch surfing for almost two years. I call them to see what the status is and they inform me that my stuff is STILL in seattle and will be getting on a boat to go to LA and then to HNL, they also told me about 6-8 more weeks. This means 2 and a half months of just waiting from PICKUP to DROPOFF.

Its now been about 7 weeks since pickup and they informed me my stuff arrived on island. I ask them to coordinate a delivery time because I have to let my apartment manager know so they don't overbook the elevators. Per phone conversation they said they would be here in the afternoon, then give me a text that they will be in the morning so I coordinate and have everything good to go at my place ready for the move.

THE DAY OF THE MOVE- I wakeup and have 3 emails from the company, one is asking for a delivery confirmation (which I already gave them via phone call) and the other two are EXTRA CHARGES of $450 to put it in storage. They said they are not going to deliver today because I didn't confirm. So all my scheduling with the apartment complex is now wasted.

I still have not received my stuff and have no idea when they want to reschedule and what the condition of my appliances are. It would have been cheaper to just buy new appliances and start fresh at this point.

  14. Recent move.

Don’t use these people. They don’t care how your property is handled. I am missing numerous boxes, others were opened and or crushed. I have a lot of damaged belongings. They’ve stressed me out and the end result is I’m unhappy. My last moving company did everything in a professional manner with nothing missing or damaged. Unfortunately, they were a local company or I’d have used them.

  15. Do Not Use This Company!

Do not use this company if you value your stuff!! Moved from San Leandro to Hilo. Company hounded me to get me to use their company, many emails and calls. Finally after giving me a very small discount if I delivered my boxes to San Leandro and reassuring me that my items would be safe, I decided to move forward with them. ( I should mention that there were two other business names that were involved with was very confusing) After mix ups with the delivery dates (Their mistakes) and dozens of calls to get me to buy the additional I insurance coverage my items were at the San Leandro storage facility, in front of me they taped up my black storage bins and assured me that they’d be safe. Being very nervous about theft I went ahead and purchased the additional insurance at that point. BUT after charging my card they told me “oh no it only covers 100% loss, meaning if the container falls off into the ocean”. My items arrived in Hilo two & half weeks later and were delivered to my new home. The crew carried in the containers, multiple containers had all of the tape ripped off. When I complained, the delivery guy said there’s nothing they can do about that. Not being able to go through all of the boxes before signing off, the guys were rushing saying they’ve got to go. I reluctantly signed just happy to see the items. Once I had a chance to go through the boxes I realized that over $3k in items had been stolen out of multiple containers!! I called Hawaii Moving Pros and was passed around on hold for 30 minutes, I sent an email to the main contact person, Micheal with no response! I then sent a second email to the insurance contact person that processed the additional insurance. I called again the next day only to be put on hold for 45 minutes. Clearly they don’t give a CRAP about their customers and their satisfaction! Extremely disappointed in this company and would never recommend them to anyone in the future.
