  1. Great experience

Our cross country move from Seattle to Mechanicsville, VA went very smooth. The company was well organized and very professional in their communication throughout the process beginning with the initial contact, the quote, the packing, and delivery of our belongings. They were very careful with the furniture and heavy items upon bringing them into the house. All belongings were delivered in good shape.

  2. A scam

Avoid! The price ended up being twice as much as what we agreed on, they arrived several days late and they broke my TV (which they packed) as well as other items.

Update after 2 weeks: the company has magically disappeared as soon as I mentioned "insurance". A scam.

  3. Fast, safe, professional, under-quote.

Wow! We had the best possible experience with Martin and his crew this month. They were masked the entire time and not a single item was damaged. Jordan River was the lowest of my three quotes, yet still came in under budget. Highly recommended.

  4. Long distance move from Seattle, WA to San Diego, CA.

After contacting 4-5 moving companies, I picked Jordan River based on their professionalism on the phone and detailed explanation of charges. I am very pleased I chose them. Pick up in Seattle and delivery in San Diego ran smoothly. The men were very efficient, professional and friendly. Dispatch kept me informed with pick up and delivery times. I did not have any damaged or broken items. Great experience!

  5. Excellent Customer Service.

We moved from Cleveland Ohio to Redmond Oregon,Jordan River was our last point of contact out of three vendors. We had a terrible experience leading up to the point when Marisa, from dispatch (Jordan) called me. The even delivered on their day off because we had waited 20 days to receive goods. They guys showed up when they said they would and they were clean and respectful and quick. We bought them a pizza for their excellent service. Pick Jordan River moving!

  6. Amazing Every time!!

Jordan River is the most amazing company they always go above and beyond I refer them to all of my real estate clients and I have never had a bad experience. They have moved me locally and long distance and it’s always been flawless and professional! I have crazy stories of them trying to move a grand piano up three flights of stairs, they didn’t even question it, they just called in extra movers and got the job done with no additional charge. They always do what they say they’re going to do 100% of the time even when it’s last minute they try and squeeze me in and make it work I truly appreciate this company!!

  7. Above and beyond.

The entire staff at Jordan river made my move seamless and easy. Thorough communication, great pricing, and nice people. They even went as far as to track down a missing piece, and have it sent to me while working with UPS the entire process.

  8. Misleading.

They claim they're all about customer service, but they're really not. They claim an in person inspection will guarantee you a no more than 10% increase, but it'll end up being far more when they weigh it. My $3100 quote ended up at $4000.

They say they take care of your goods but they don't care. They damaged my bike after assuring me it would be fine, and then they didn't care and said it's my fault for not crating it--which I didn't since they assured me it would be fine and they were experienced etc.

When you try to submit a claim they're unhelpful and don't care.

  9. Negligent handling of belongings.

If I could give them a MINUS 5 stars I would! If you are considering this company for a move of any kind/distance, Don't! You should run, not walk, away from this business. We moved about 8 miles away as the crow flies. Not only can you expect the usual broken wine glass or 2 and maybe a plate but hey were actually NEGLIGENT when handling of our belongings. They screwed our dining table back together (they had no idea what they were doing) and screwed the leg screws up thru the top of the table. My husband has a number of woodworking tools that are quite large. The casters on the bottom of some of these tools (to allow them to be rolled around) were used to heave the equipment around and therefore bent pieces of the metal and casters to the point they had to be replaced/make the equipment unusable. I have an antique table that was wrapped carefully. The movers must have picked it up by the top and thrown it as it was delivered broken in half. These people do not care about your items. Perhaps there are some employees who do, but we didn't get those people for our move. When we took pictures of the damage and explained what happened, the company was not at all interested in hearing our concerns. Since we did not sign up for insurance that would completely replace our destroyed items, they would not even consider stepping up to do the right thing and at least pay for some of the damage. They offered no apology, no recognition of their responsibility for negligence on the part of their employees. We have moved multiple times in the past, including long distances and have NEVER experienced such idiotic handling of someone's treasures. If we had we would have signed up for the maximum insurance offered. The result of all of this that they offered us $300 (only the maximum amount they were required to pay due to the insurance we purchased and not a penny more). If you want the money that you are owed per the insurance you purchased (a mere $300) you are required to sign away your rights to post negative reviews in order to get the money. We left the money behind in order to be able to help others avoid this wicked company. They are just not worth the risk and have no credibility. They have done this before you, can be sure.

  10. Destroyed Belongings and Jordan takes no liabilty.

If there were a way of giving this company a negative rating I would. NEVER USE THIS MOVING COMPANY NO MATTER HOW CHEAP OR HOW DESPERATE YOU ARE!!
    Terrible customer service, complete hassle,
they destroyed my belongings, won’t return my calls and the expense of fixing the antiques was more than the move.

  11. Excellent experience.

Jordan River moved me from one apartment to another in Seattle last week. The three young guys turned up in matching t-shirts, looking professional. They were fast, hard-working, and careful with my things. Not a single item was damaged or lost, out of a very full two-bedroom apartment. I have a lot of fragile items, including a hutch with removable glass doors, a glass table top, and a dozen or so framed pictures. I had rented plastic tubs from Hive Boxx and expected to be fully packed by the time they arrived, but had run out of boxes and my kitchen was utter chaos when they turned up. So they provided four or five big boxes for me and packed the remainder of my things without complaint. I highly recommend them.

  12. Excellent movers!

We used Jordan River Moving and Storage to move from Seattle, WA to Bozeman, MT and couldn't be happier with the experience. The folks from start to finish were all very professional and wonderful. Sandra, Ydelgar and Margarito were friendly, fast and careful. If we move again, they'll be our first call. They were fast and efficient and everything arrived in great condition. Their organizational skills and ability to stack and arrange things is unreal. I was sure we'd need a bigger truck and somehow they made it all fit with lots of room to spare, all with no damage to note.

  13. No communication between front office and warehouse.

They packed and loaded our home for a move out of state. I'd say they packed well. Nothing broken or even slightly damaged. After packing, they load and you really have to watch here. We found them leaving stuff behind. Had us stumped. There is little communication between office and warehouse. We asked for a few things be in our file for movers to do and when they came, they had no idea what we were talking about. Example, Tempurpedic mattress. Every single professional mover will tell you that the bed has to remain flat and on top of everything when moved. Damage is caused is standing up. We had serious trouble getting them to understand this. Office said it was in our file and warehouse called "BS" on them.
Their blankets are horribly dirty. Your beautiful and clean furniture will need cleaning once it arrives. Doubt they've cleaned them in 20 years. Our stuff arrived safely but with a few bumps. And what's funny is if you cause even the slightest bump, they charge you but if they make a huge mistake (transporting overweight so it's held up in truck stop for a second truck to arrive) they throw out the "your contract says 3 to 21 days to be delivered". They won't accept fault for their mistakes. If all is good, they are your best friends but if you mention their dirty blankets or about the delay..well..your not their best friends anymore. I'd say they are a average mover. They'd be better if they improved just a few things but doubt that happens for a while. I don't have any hard feelings for them nor have I had any nasty discussions with them. On the contrary. I just feel I should get back one extra day delivery charge they took from me since they delayed delivery by one day due to their own fault.

  14. Damage to my home.

Stay away from this terrible company.  We specifically chose them because of their BS pitch about taking extra precautions with your belongings and making sure everything is protected.  They explicitly stated that they put down covering on your wood floors to protect it during the move.   During the move they damaged many items by carrying items that were too heavy for 1 person so they banged around the items too much because they could not control the item by themselves.  By the time I got to the scene they had been moving heavy items into the home WITHOUT any floor protection whatsoever.  Needless to say, they dropped heavy items on the floor and caused quite a few dents.     Now they are telling me they will not do anything to make me whole because this is their policy:   "In addition, Jordan River Moving is not liable to the interior or exterior of any residence including, but not limited to: walls, floors, ceilings, stairs, banisters, carpets, etc."     So apparently they are free to damage your house freely and not have to do anything to rectify the situation because it is their policy.   It has now been almost 2 months since our move and they have done absolutely nothing about all the damage they created during our move.  NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!

  15. Never you this company.

Before delivery, I had clearly noted to the dispatch on phone the intersection of streets where truck should arrive to deliver my goods. However, the truck came at a different intersection. I was easily charged $100 more as the distance of the point where truck actually came to my apartment door was a lot more than the other one. I told the driver to measure the other distance and he rejected that thought with no reasons.
There was some damage done to my furniture which I wanted the driver to note down in the exception section. The driver SHERMOE wouldn’t agree to do so. Instead, he started verbally fighting with me. He raised his voice, started using statements like “I know how to deal with customers like you”, “You have paid nothing for this move” etc. It was scary and threatening. He insulted me all throughout the time he was inside my apartment. At the end, he left my dining table unassembled on the floor. He even asked me to help him assemble the bed as he only had one other person from other third party company. The whole experience was scary and the driver was verbally abusive.  I am in touch with my legal counsel to see what my legal rights are in this case. I
I had requested the customer care to have the owner of this company call me to discuss driver’s behavior. He never called, however

The sales representative John told me the following over the phone at the time of selling the moving service.
    1.       Jordan River is a direct moving company and not a broker and they only use Jordan River trucks.
    2.       During pick-up and delivery, I would only see Jordan River people and no one else.
    3.       He also tried his level best to prove that another company “all state movers inc” were a broker and not a direct company like Jordan River because they didn’t have their own trucks and their own people.
In absence of above 3 factors, a company has basically negotiated a deal with some other moving vendors which is a key to identify a company as direct moving company or broker. It was really important for me to hand over my goods to a direct moving company that won’t negotiate a deal with some other moving company.
At the time of pickup, there was a Jordan River truck and Jordan River people. However, this wasn’t the case at the time of delivery. The truck was from a company named MAP Moving  & Storage, Miami FL. The driver had no helpers from Jordan River with him. He called a helper from a third party company. There was a big confusion while the driver and his helper were moving my furniture in to my apartment. The driver had not clearly told the helper that he would also have to help him assemble the furniture. The other person clearly explained me that the driver had not mentioned that before. The driver started shouting on him and there was a lot of chaos. My move was delayed by 20 minutes

All in all, this company tells you everything wrong about itself. The sales person lies to you about the company and how the move would take place. After your goods leave Seattle area, it is some other company that handles your goods. Not sure how many hops the goods go through. In my case, boxes were damaged, scratches on tables, broken guitar chords etc.
