The Worst Experience & Customer Service.
First, the estimate was given by phone. Do not ever allow a company to give you an estimate over the phone, request an onsite visit and guaranteed price. This company reviewed our home over the phone and we agreed to the price. However its nearly impossible to give a precise estimate by phone, which was our first mistake - but this was our first time hiring movers.
The bottom line, we have a full five bedroom house and they sent a 28 foot truck - which was barely enough to move half our house. So here we are, moving day (which we must be completely out the next day), and they sent a truck WAY too small. I called and nothing they can do - so we had to rent an entire 26' Uhaul truck AND trailer, to load and move the rest of home (by ourselves) across 4 state lines.
To me; when someone says "full five bedroom house" that should be moving 101 that you need an 18 wheeler..but they just blamed us for an inaccurate estimate. The process and their response was a complete joke that cost us much more time and money to move - almost twice as much as they took from us, and we had to do half of it ourselves - which is the sole reason we hired North American Relocation; to move our house. The worst experience and customer service - if I could give them zero stars, I would.
Avoid North American Relocation - crooks and scams.
My initial contact with North American Relocation (NAR) Boynton Beach, Florida was based on a positive rating from Consumer Affairs.com. I have come to realize that North American Relocation is a fraudulent business based on high pressure sales, false claims by their sales representatives, confusing contract language, and false reassurance only to find out this company will take your deposit with little to no refund without providing any services. I was rushed through a binding estimate and told I needed to leave a deposit of $3,754 or else I would lose the price per pound rate. I was told I could cancel within 7 days of the pick up date. I provided NAR with 34 days notice to cancel since a job position was cancelled and we were no longer relocating. I was told by 4 employees including the Billing manager, David at NAR that I would receive my deposit. After a week of not seeing a credit to my credit card and numerous phone calls that were never answered, the owner states that all he has left of my deposit is $1,000. Then after telling him that I was told I would get my deposit back from his employees Anthony tried to coerce me into taking $1,500 and signing something else. When I asked what services or products have I received he stated a reserved moving truck. I told Anthony there was no way the truck driver was paid at the time of my reservation which would have been 69 days in advance. I received more lies from the owner Anthony that he would provide a receipt to the truck driver. I said he would just fabricate an invoice. And he did not deny it. Anthony stated that the 7 days applies to changing the move date. Therefore, how could I have a truck reserved in 69 days if I could change the move date out to a year in 7 days? A fraudulent business.
