Long distance move.
We used Orion van lines to do our long distance move from Columbia South Carolina to San Diego California in June of this year. I wanted to offer our thoughts on what a good job they did with our move and how satisfied we were with the service rendered.
The movers who completed our move did a super job to say the least- they were clean and quick too the point. The truck was able to get up close to our home and was fairly new. All our large items were wrapped neatly and placed on the truck in a timely and orderly fashion. When time came for delivery the guys arrived around 9:30 am and unloaded everything in to their appropriate rooms then reassembled our bedroom furniture. Orion was very organized and provided professional service.

Ripoff by Orion Van Lines.
I called and got a quote from Nicole on a Friday afternoon. She told me To lock in that quote, I could put a down payment of $400.00 down on a $2000.00 quote, which I did. She did not tell me that it would not be totally refundable if I did not book with Orion. My move month was over 2 months into the future, so there was nothing last minute about this Over the weekend my son offered to move me using a rental truck, which would save me money and time. Moving companies tell you it can take up to 2 weeks to get your belongings, so 2 weeks in a hotel will just add to your total cost. Some reviews I read of Orion said it took a month. So, bright and early Monday morning, I called Nicole and told her I would not be booking my move with them as my son had offered to move me, and I would like my deposit refunded. She immediately became rude and said manangement would "have to review the situation". Becoming alarmed, I asked what she meant and without a word she transferred me to Kevin. He was very abrasive and arrogant and told me there would be a fee for cancelling my scheduled move. I explained that I had not scheduled anything, I had not even given Nicole a date other than the month of my move. He continued in a bullying manner to lecture me that they were going to charge a "processing fee" for running my deposit through Visa and then there would be a" management review" to determine what would happen next. I objected to this and became insistent that I be credited my deposit, after all, I had not booked anything, I merely placed a deposit to lock in the estimate ( in rretrospect, that was a VERY foolish thing to do). The Visa processing fee which he insisted he had to recover, was almost 25% of my deposit. Visa charges 2-3% max to process a charge. We continued back and forth and ultimately he hung up on me. I immediately called my bank, who is investigating this transaction, because I was not sure I would get any money back. Just this morning, 2 weeks after this mess started, I received a $300.00 credit - Orion kept 25% of my deposit. I believe the only reason I got anything back was because my bank contacted them . I am hoping my bank will recover the 25% withheld. BEWARE OG ORION VAN LINES!
Happy with Orion.
This was our first cross country move and we were quite happy with the service Orion van lines provided. We moved the contents of our two bedroom home from South Carolina to Las Vegas Nevada at a weight of 6500 pounds including packing for $6600.00.
Tom who was our moving consultant was right on the money with our estimate, and delivered a perfectly performed move for our family. .

We recently completed our move with Orion van lines who asked that we share our thoughts. Our move went very smooth and we found the services rendered to be very professional. The movers were seasoned and made quick work of packing and loading our belongings. Our estimate was accurate and we had no damages or hidden fees. Orion provided a quality move at a fair price. Very Competitive.
We must have received 20 moving quotes when we first began comparing moving companies. We were looking for a good mover but within a budget we could afford without compromising needed service. After filtering through what seemed like dozens of different quotes and options we decide to use Orion Van Lines based on a few factors.
First the sales people and moving coordinator were very easy to communicate with and spoke to us in easy to understand terms. The price Orion Van Lines offered was in the middle range which was also attractive. The other thing that stuck out was the fact that if we over estimated our move we could actually be refunded the difference should our move actually gone under up to 10% - almost every other company had a space reservation so if we had less than anticipated we still would have to pay the entire balance.
As it turns out our move did come in under the estimate and we saved nearly $675.00 in the end. We have moved a few times in the past and I would rate Orion Van Lines equal to or above any mover we have experienced.

We expressed to Erik at Orion van lines that we would offer a review of their services after completion. He it goes- Erik was wonderful to work with and supplied us with terrific service and support. Orion's moving crew did and exceptional job of wrapping & packing our belongings. The movers disassembled and crated our pool table slates and marble top table as well disassembling our children’s play center. The same movers arrived for delivery making sure everything was unpacked and placed in it proper area, Since my husband has two thumbs I asked them if they good reassemble my children’s play center and they did without hesitation- naturally we tipped them well for going the extra mile.
The move was a very pleasurable experience and we would absolutely recommend Orion van lines services to our friends and family.

Fine Service.
I will admit it takes a lot to motivate me enough to write a good review but Orion van lines totally blew me away with their service. First Nicole was our sales person and is one of the most friendly and professional individuals that I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I want to state that we had to rearrange our move dates 4 different times due to closing complications and each time Nicole and Orion van lines assisted us with these issues without having us feel like a burden or adding fees. The movers were equally impressive and fine ambassadors for Orion van lines customer service.

We used Orion to move our 2 bedroom home from Mobile Alabama to a 2 bedroom apartment in Chicago Illinois in May if 2013.
Other than the building manager in Chicago giving us grief about using the elevators and loading dock for an extended period of time as the weather was terrible and caused a delay in delivery the move was smooth and we were pleased with the service provided.

All Moving conditions.
This was a move with every conditiion that went awry from start to finish. My first twomovers backed out without any warning. I went to Orion because of its good reviews, Then they tried to back out of the move for the same reason the 2 previous contracts had..moving over the holidays. However they finally said they would move me with no problems implied. I'm 89 years old and had to do the move alone. So when they also tried to back out I argued that Orion had understood the isues and they had agreed to make the move without question, they finally complied. I got a short notice (9 hours) they were coming for my shipment. I was not finished packing. They brought a 4 page contract to be signed while I packed (this is an illegal length of time). The packing was fine but some items were included that were meant for charity and some were not packed. I couldn't keep track what was being done so I will assume some of this was due to my fault. My moving dates were important because I wanted to avoid paying another month's rent at the retirement home and to take advantage of grandchildren who would help unpack when I arrived in Arizona. So I had explained circumstances which were accepted. The move was a day late (understandably), however there was considerable damage that was obviously due to jamming things against others. My china was all broken, a chair was shattered, pictures broken and other losses. Items are "things", I can survive their loss, but the attempt to bow out of an understanding I had so carefully explained and without warning was the most inexplicable. Erik had complied quickly in the beginning and had I not called I would have been left with no options. I have been trying for the past 7 months to get compensation with no help from the sources I tried to reach. I am trying once more and hope Erik will learn a lesson about integrity.

These guys were phenomenal they packed and loaded our two bedroom home in 4 hours wow! The foremen Eddie and crew were super nice guys to deal with and have to be the hardest workers I have ever seen.
They delivered us in Texas within 10 days and spot on the price! If your looking for a good moving company use these guys.

We found Orion van lines after filling out a free online moving request form. We received about 10 responses from various companies but one response really stood out for us which was from Nicole of Orion van lines. First I liked that Orion was providing links so that we could check the licensing and integrity of the movers we were considering which is how we found mymovingreviews.com.
Next they were not pushy nor did they try any hard sale tactics; rather they were informative and respectful of our need for time before commiting. Once we made our decision to use Orion van lines services they made the process simple and easy to understand. We were very happy with the service provided and wanted to share our thoughts with others .

We chose Orion van lines based mostly off of the reviews we read on line and were happy with the overall experience of the move. The guys loading the furniture did a good job and we had no damages to our things to speak of. It took a day longer than quoted for delivery but other then that we were very pleased with the service provided by orion van lines.
Orion Van Lines.
This company is the epitome of dishonesty and unprofessionalism. They misrepresent delivery days in order to beat the competition and after securing your business they keep pushing back the delivery date. I was told initially they will deliver my stuff in about 2-4 days. My stuff got delivered after 14 days after almost daily phone calls to the company. They keep shifting the delivery dates and worse of all they deny ever telling you about an earlier delivery date even when you have then on your voicemail. After a harrowing wait, sleeping in hotels, my stuff finally arrived with some boxes and their contents wet and some aspects of my book case wet and damaged. The delivery guys did not bother to reassemble all furniture they had previously disassembled. They attempted assemblying my bed but did a very poor job at it. When I drew their attention to the instability of the bed, they told me they were going to get it fixed; before I knew it, they jumped into their truck and drove off. Please stay away from Orion Van Lines for your own good.

We just completed our second move with Orion van lines and once again the service was outstanding. David the sales person who coordinated our moves took care of everything; from shipping our home goods to scheduling the transportation of our vehicles.

We recently completed our move with Orion van lines and were asked to share our experience with their services. We found the services provided to be first rate, the move went smooth and the employees were friendly and attentive. Over all the move was great; the only down side is that cross country moves are only done on tractor trucks so we needed the use of a smaller truck at delivery to unload which is an additional cost. All things said we would recommend their services.
