  1. Great Movers.

We were very happy with Orion van lines and their agents who performed our move. The men worked very professionally and wrapped our items securely and neatly. The delivery went equally as well with the movers placing all our items and boxes as instructed in their proper place.

This is our 5th move and Orion van lines performed head and shoulders above other movers we have tried.

  2. Excellent Service.

We were a little overwhelmed with contracting a mover with all the warnings and horrific reviews we read online so let’s say we were not an easy sell. We were contacted by Andy at Orion Van Lines who immediately provided us with government pamphlets and websites so we could research our choices and better understand our options and rights.   We decided to use Orion Van Lines for our move based on their reviews and good standing with the BBB and mymovingreviews .com; also the pleasant experience we had communication with Andy. The move went very well and the price we were quoted actually came out to be $300.00 less in the end.       We would not hesitate to use Orion for our future moves and will be happily referring their services in the future.      .

  3. Great Service.

I wanted to thank Orion van lines for a superb moving experience and inform them of how great a job Nicole has done for us. We were very nervous as we had never used a long distance mover before and became very skeptical after researching the moving industry. Nicole was patient and provided the most information and assistance with our questions and concerns.

  4. Orion van lines.

We completed a move using Orion van lines last month and were asked by our agent if we would share our thoughts on the service provided.

From the beginning we were very comfortable with our contact at Orion Nicole; she was very thorough and upfront regarding pricing and services and took great care in extracting all the information to ensure that our quite was accurate and that we would not be in for any discrepancies at the end.

The movers were clean, friendly and component in the service provided, they took care in preparing and shipping our items with no damages to speak of. I consider myself to be a strong judge of character and found Orion van lines to be an excellent choice.

  5. Our Review.

Our move was handled by Orion van lines and I promised to write a review once completed. The move went well from beginning to end. The sale men and movers were very professional and completed our move as advertised. I have never moved before so I can't say I have experience but I can say that I would use their services again should I need to move, Hopefully I won’t need to move again.      .

  6. Orion (aka Verizon) Van Lines - Never Showed Up.

First, know that Orion Van Lines is the same company as Verizon Van Lines. This review applies, then, to both; The Florida Better Business Bureau considers that Verizon is the same company as Orion and so do I.
I contracted with Nicole Staci in May of 2012 to move my 2 bedroom household from Brooklyn, NY to Madison, WI. I was quoted $2600. I paid a deposit of $750 and was told the dispatcher (Kevin Scott) would contact me the week of the move with a final date for the pickup, which was scheduled for either July 30th or 31st. At this point, all seemed good. The price was about 40% less than local NYC moving companies and Orion had (I thought) an available truck. Nicole Staci grew up in the neighborhood where I was living and I felt like I could trust this person/company.
Kevin Scott contacted me the in the last week of July to confirm that the truck would arrive on the morning of July 31st. I was told to have some cash and a cashere's check made out to some other company and that I was to give this to the dirver at the completion of the move. RED FLAG! Why would I not pay the balance to Orion?
The day before the move, the truck driver never calls as he is supposed to. I call Kevin Scott and am told not to worry. The next morning, July 31, moving day, nothing. The driver never calls and never arrives. I call Kevin Scott again. I'm told that the truck broke down (Georgia?) and apparently no one in the truck had a working cell phone. Again, I'm told not to worry. I called Nicole Staci and she also tells me not to worry. I need to be out of my apartment as another tenant is moving in.. I'm worried.
My landlord graciously calls the new tenant and asks if there is any way I can remain in the apartment another 24hours. Fortunately, he is out of town on business and agrees. Kevin Scott arranges for another drive to pick us up the next day and move our belongings to WI. At 5pm, Kevin Scott calls to inform me that this new driver was just picked up by the DOT for driving over his allotted hours.. he's not coming. Kevin Scott was flummoxed. He gave me no options and suggested my family (spouse and 8 year old) stay with friends or relatives until he could find a new driver. He didn't seem to understand that I had an obligation get my 900 cubic feet of belongings out of that NYC apartment. Really?
In a mad scramble, I rented the last 17 foot u-haul truck in Brooklyn. I hired 5 men at 19.95 per hour each to load my truck and I drove that truck the 960 miles to Wisconsin. The move cost me over $4000. Two weeks after I arrived in WI, I received a check from Verizon Van Lines in the amount of my deposit without so much as a note of apology.
I have filed a complaint with the Florida Better Business Bureau (BBB Case #90168306). Kevin Scott's initial response was that his contract stipulates that he's not responsible for anything (I'm paraphrasing) and that he actually has a 30 day window to pick up and deliver, regardless of what's been scheduled. Seriously?! I understand having this in a contract to protect yourself, but to hide behind that and have NO sense of customer service is unforgivable to me.
The Florida Better Business Bureau has receive no response to my second response to Kevin Scott. The deadline for him to reply for his company has passed and the BBB has labeled my complaint as "UNRESOLVED." In other words, Kevin Scott and his company just don't care.
I do not consider Orion Van Lines to be a moving company in the sense that they have movers and trucks at their immediate disposal and in direct employ. I believe that this is, rather, some Craigslist style operation where Kevin Scott subcontracts, outsources jobs to independent drivers and you get what you get. Orion's customer service is only good until there is a problem and they demonstrated to me that they are not prepared at all to deal with problems should they arise.
Bottom line.. look elsewhere if you need a company who is able to navigate issues and fulfill their obligations. Look for a company who won't hide behind the small print of their contract.  .

  7. Good Service.

Over all we were very happy with the service provided by Orion van lines and their people. The final price was as quoted and the movers did a very nice job with our belongings. The only reason I gave a good rating was because upon arrival in Miami it turns out the elevator in our building was out if service and the movers had to carry our belongings by stair to the 3rd floor.    Orion charged a fee for this which I thought should have been included in the overall moving estimate.  .

  8. Orion Van Lines A.

I had to arrange a move for my in laws and one of my coworkers had just completed a move and expressed to me how well he move went with Orion van lines and recommended I give them a call. My in laws are getting up there in age and are moving to an assisted living facility in Texas to escape the brutal winters here in Chicago and needed help with the arrangements.

I spoke with David at Orion van lines about my wants and needs for this move since this was my responsibility I wanted to make sure that the move was stress free. David made the arrangements very clear and simple to understand even taking the time to contact the assisted living facility to make arrangements for delivery and check on any stipulations or obstructions that might occur.

The workers were very polite and took good care of our items making sure they were wrapped and protected securely. The delivery also went very well as we needed some items brought to a storage facility on the grounds and others brought directly to their room. We found the whole experience to be very pleasant and will be sure to recommend Orion to others.

  9. DON'T. Even if if were given to you free, JUST DON'T.

It's too bad that Nicole is not the whole company..because she is great--thorough and prompt.  However, when Orion contracted out to Schneider Van Lines, that's where the trouble began.  Schneider was difficult to contact, rude to deal with, unreliable, and then sent a driver on his first run to make my delivery with only one helper.  The driver found two guys of questionable integrity on Craigslist and first started their delivery at 10pm.  And finished at 5am.  Even left an expensive dolly/handtruck and a dozen moving blankets here. That's where the real fun began.  We found ourselves missing two boxes..interestingly one of fine liquors and the other of my son's camcorder.  Hard to believe coincidence when it's tonly hese two boxes out of some 180. Kevin, of Orion Van Lines, will ultimately be done in by his own anger and arrogance.  He plays as though he understand your plight/anger/frustration but then he verbally explodes when you do not receive satisfaction on your claims.  I submitted my claim [complete with notarized forms and photos] to them and their insurance company within 30 days.  Insurance handled their end promptly and according to the letter of the law.. Here's my final email to them..kind of sums it all up.."Well played gentlemen.  Let’s see…you first received the CARGO and DAMAGES insurance claims in mid-July.  Although the cargo portion was poorly but promptly paid, you jerked me around until the end of August.  When I pushed back in my ‘negotiations’ with Kevin, he decided he’d no longer work with me when I argued that we were entitled to more than the offered $325, and then upped to $375 dollars [when Kevin stated that he’d even kick in $50 of his own to end this].  Hmmm.  And yet, anger and arrogance got the best of Kevin once again and he cut short our conversation.  So I did exactly what I should have done all along….I re-contacted Michelle @ Vanliner Insurance.  It took all of 10 days to get the claim processed, issue resolved, and check cut.  And I received a better payment of $450 in today’s mail.  Ten days…so hard to believe.  And my son gets his camcorder and case and knife and sheath all replaced.  All I ever asked for.  And even better, I did not have to sign off on anything.  Which leaves me completely free to let the world know just how Orion and Schneider handled my June move.  Right up to the September resolution of all they mishandled.  No worries, I will share just the facts and only the facts.  No editorializing is even necessary. Nicole, you were professional and thorough from our very first conversation.  Unfortunately you cannot handle everything and deserve a more professional place of employment.  Kevin, I predict that it will be your arrogance and anger that ultimately does your business in…stop pretending that you’re working for your customers and have their best interests in mind.  You don’t.  Ivan, I cannot even begin to comment on your business…from the drivers you hire, to making deliveries in the middle of the night, to leaving items behind, to hiring helpers found on Craigslist to offload.  If Orion is at all wise, they will NEVER EVER contract out a move to you. IVAN, I have also let you know for more than 10 weeks that I have moving blankets and a hand truck here.  I have requested that arrangements be made for their pickup.  This continues to be ignored.  If nothing is arranged by the end of September, I will be disposing of these items.  Wonder what these could fetch on Craigslist? Yea, I know, it’s your busiest time of year.  Well, maybe not for much longer." Nuf said.  DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHANCES.
