  1. Great experience.

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I moved from New Jersey to Florida and the Relo team basically did everything for me. My quote was accurate and my belongings were in perfect condition. They were friendly, attentive, and simply a pleasure to work with.

  2. Broke my furniture and Poor Customer Service.

I highly advise you NOT to use this Relo Van Lines. They broke my $2,000+ wooden bed frame and dress-suit valet stand. The movers actually acknowledged that it was broken because the pieces were so damaged that they could not put it together. They agreed to remove my wooden bed frame from my apartment because it was actually unsafe to sleep on. After over 6 months of emailing Best Interstate Moving Company that procured Relo Van Lines, nothing has been done. Relo Van Lines does not respond cause they don't care and Best Interstate Moving Company just points the finger at Relo Van Lines.

  3. Worst Experience of My Life.

Literally worst experience of my life. It still haunts me since I have to think of the items stolen from me which reminds me of the entire horrible experience. JUST DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY and save yourself a lot of serious trauma. I cannot believe in this day and age that the people they hire are allowed in people's homes and around their children and personal belongings.

  4. Dishonest, disreputable, disgusted!

DO NOT use this company! There would be a more negative reviews but they make you sign an agreement stating " any claim, complaint or grievance filed subsequent to this release agreement shall be retracted and/or will be reported that a satisfactory settlement has been reached by all parties. In the event that any claims, complaints or grievances have already been filed with any regulatory/reporting agency or bureau, customer agrees to retract said claims/complaints, or report a satisfactory settlement has been reached by all parties". That alone should tell you something! If you want to get compensation for your property that they destroy, you cannot file a complaint with the BBB or anyone else! I will have to delete my review once my lawyer gets done "negotiating" with this company.
To start with: 1) Our belongings were not picked up when they were supposed to be or delivered when promised. They even called the day before to let us know they were coming… and didn't show up for the delivery,
    2) numerous damaged items along with missing items,
    3) delivered someone else's belongings to our house. One year later, and their stuff is still in my garage. Relo offered to reimburse me if I would ship this huge box to them and submit a receipt,
    4) after you sign the inventory list at pick up, they go back and add to the paperwork to show that your items were damaged when they picked them up,
    5) when you submit a claim, they devalue most everything. Instead of paying $.60 on the pound, they either offer compensation, anywhere between five and $10 per item, or all of a sudden… your 350 pound sofa only weighs 150 pounds. That will save Relo $120.
In our case: 4131 pounds of damaged goods = $2478.60. They offered us $536.00. I refused and they upped the offer to $938.00. Either way, they are still ahead and you end up with damaged goods and a lot of misery.

  5. Everything destroyed.

Total neglect and disrespect. That is the only way I can describe the catastrophe that happened to our possessions with this company. They stacked everything on top of the ATV smashing the plastic and suspension. The boxes were all smashed to include the content. They wanted paid through PayPal under the name express van lines then didn't pay the drivers who wouldn't give us our stuff until they received payment from Alex, the guy we dealt with. We had to call PayPal and the credit card company to get our money back then pay the movers in cash to get our stuff. This is completely unacceptable.

  6. Colonial Van Lines - Update.

This is an update to my previous review of Colonial Van Lines (CVL) Relocation Division from 2 November 2016. Since I posted that review, within 12 hours CVL contacted me to learn more about my move and its problems and to try to work towards a resolution of the problems. I'm happy to say that we have agreed on a fair resolution of the issues and that it happened pretty quickly. Their Escalation Manager took my case to upper management and we rapidly resolved all of my complaints I'm impressed by how quickly they responded and we got it done. They say the are working hard to improve their company's performance and responsiveness and it seems that they are. Scott, Huntsville AL.

  7. Could Have Been Better.

My 1st move in 35 years so was unprepared for brokering of movers. 1st broker took goods from Delaware to warehouse in New Jersey on day contracted but brought goods to New Jersey where they were kept for several days before they began the move to Florida. 1st broker was very good, conscientious, and informative.

2nd broker, not so much.. Delivery was 3 days late and bed bureaus, mirrors, and chairs were not put back together. Fortunately, the 1st brokers were good enough that nothing got broken.

The communication between me and Relo Van Lines was fine, but after the switch-off to the brokers, it was absolutely horrible. There was a 5-day window for delivery and still did not get to goods to me within the timeframe - they were 3 days late and I had to call all over to find out where they were and when they would be coming. Not fun, especially since I had a surrogate at the receiving site.

Relo Van lines received $1453 of the $2490 cost of the move. Pretty hefty fee for paper work and telephone calls.

If I actually knew who the 1st movers were, I'd use them again without apprehension, but I'm glad I'm not moving again and would have to choose another not-so-great mover.

  8. Shabby service.

We contracted a mover for a moving from Pennsylvania to Florida. Evidently they contracted out to Relo Van Lines. Our furniture was delivered on December 19, 2015. With the exception of one piece of furniture there was damage ranging from minmal to extreme. Everything I packed carefully and boxed myself, was delivered in perfect condition which again points to the total disrespect of their customers and their furniture. In the presence of the movers photographs were taken and a claim was filed. I did not take additional insurance because of the cost. We are senior citizens and must watch what we spend. Relo Van Lines Claims Department in Margate, Fl approved $127.50 (.60 cents per pound). I asked for a reconsideration and on March 11, 2016 we received a letter stating not further allowance will be made, to complete the forms and return them and a check would be issued. To date, October 11, 2016, nothing has been received. Multiple e-mails with the company advised the claim rep would be contacted, the check is on the way and the best - the girl in the office is on maternity leave. This is totally unacceptable to me and I feel I have been taken advantage of as a senior citizen. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN before contracting with Relo Van Lines.

  9. Run Away!

No actual movers work for Relo. Subcontracting to independent movers (i.e. people too unreliable to work for a real moving company) means Relo does not exercise control over your moving experience. Clown sent to us was 3 days late, needed to borrow money to pay crew, stole beer from my fridge, drank on duty, failed to get all goods on van, and smoked weed in our driveway at new place. Bad people.

  10. S & b Moving Service, Llc.

Movers were not professional -- one had never moved anything before. I was not notified when they were coming. After making 4-5 phone calls to my service rep, with no return calls, I got another person to tell me the movers would be there in 14 hours.
The movers were slow and sloppy and did not wrap furniture appropriately.
My biggest complaint is on the delivery. I was told by Relo that they would put items where you wanted. They were so rough with my doors, walls and furniture that I was glad to see them leave. In unpacking, I discovered that I was missing one box and a stand-up fan. I called one of the men that delivered and told him. Since there was only one other person that they had loaded before me, he called that person and was told they had the box and fan. The trucker told me he would pick them up and deliver them to me in 4-5 days. That time went by and I started calling him again, with him not answering and not returning my calls. After going through my phone bill to find the number of the trucker's boss, which was S & B Moving Service, LLC, Phoenix. He called his trucker and called me back and said he would pick up and deliver my items. OJ was his name, who I believe owned the company. He brought my fan and said they couldn't find the box. (This was 12 days after I called the first time and was told they found my items.)
Just wanted you to know you can't trust these movers.

  11. Never Use.

I am a very dissatisfied customer of Allstate Van Lines, Relo Van Lines, Relocation operation. I blame this company even though they claim no responsibility for any of the actions incurred during my move. I still hold Allstate Van Lines Relocation, Relo Van Lines, accountable for they are the ones that contract out the ones that come out to move you. At no time does their website or do they let you know that you will contracted out to another carrier who you have no control over. I was asked several times if an 18 wheeler would be able to pull up in front of the house. I reassured them every time that there had been other moving lines on the street. When so called movers showed up at 4:00 pm on a Sunday in Budget rent a truck I was in shock. I had no time to have any other arrangements made. There were 3 young men that were very tired but proceeded anyway. They didn't seem to have a clue what they were doing. One was so tired that the head to him to go lay down in the truck. All they had were a few boxes with them, no packing materiel therefore things were just put in the boxes not protected. I have included pictures to show exactly how they looked. They went and got some more boxes and a roll of brown paper which they ripped pieces off to wrap glassware, plates collectible figurines. I've been through enough moves that I know this is not how to pack things. They also had US postal boxes that they used for packing. I am going to ask the postal office if this is a common practice for moving companies to do. They will have your companies name as a reference being you hired the movers. The pictures are there to document all of this. Since when do you wrap good wooden furniture in plastic wrap and not expect any damage? Never have I ever seen this done. If I had been moving down the block maybe this is acceptable but not cross country. I should be reimbursed for packing materials that weren't used. There were no dish packs and definitely not thirty. There were no mattress boxes as you see per photo. I was charged for 4. There were no wardrobe boxes as you see clothes were just placed in a box I was charged for 2. I took pictures of every single box that I had and did not have half of the boxes that I was charged for. In all the moves that I have been through never have I had damage beyond belief. This company is despicable and I would never ever go through them again. I would definitely never recommend then to anyone else. They are horrible.

  12. Poor service, bad workers.

I moved from MN to NC and had the moving company pack/wrap all my furniture.  The inventory list I signed had been altered showing many items “D” Damaged, or “B” Broken, which were not shown originally (the driver had made changes, then put his hand over the document and told me to sign the bottom).   We watched him pack the bed (Kingsdown with low-profile foundation) yet when it got to NC, the foundation was broken in half, like a Taco!!  My antiques were in perfect shape when they wrapped them, but now have lots of damage.  A few of the plastic bins I used had been broken and my items fell onto a dirty area then shoved back in.  The driver was untruthful.  The owner of the company was yelling at me on the phone when discussing scheduling.  Never use these people.

  13. Sadly, cannot recommend..

XXXX-Doesn’t tell customer they use subcontractors. Called number under All State Van Lines Relocation(ASVLR),contract says Relo Van Lines, when communicating when the pick up would be mentioned Colonial then Apple Transport was the actual mover.XXXX-Poor Communication- I was constantly calling to be apprised of when the mover was coming and other matters. Had the flexible arrival date arrangement. I'm given movers phone number(Apple Transport-Who are they?) which didn't always work.  Was given an impending arrival date within the date range. Movers call the day they arrive, one day earlier than date given, I'm not home of course, movers wait over night and call again, mention they almost left and I should be grateful they persisted and tried again.XXXX-Price low balled over phone according to the square footage of my apartment. Nobody came to asssess. When I packed afterwards, said how many boxes and they wanted 321.23 more in deposit on top of the 1,321.39.  When movers arrive, they asked AGAIN, just before starting loading for yet ANOTHER deposit.  I refused. Apple Transport mover calls HIS boss and gets it 'OK'd".Original estimate 2,465.37 w/deposit of 1,321.39 w/estimated weight of 4,259 lbs. Final result: Additional deposit of 321.23 and weight of 7,540 lbs. Total paid incl deposits and payment of balance at delivery was 4,797.33.Ironically,the price was competitive but how they presented the estimated cost, the final cost being much more, and asking for more deposit twice again, left a bad taste in my mouth. What if a person couldn't afford to pay the remaining on delivery of 3,064.27? I knew movers sometimes pulled this stuff so I was prepared but what about a person on a very tight budget. Could have been disasterous!XXXX-ASVLR asked me whether a large Semi moving truck and trailer had space to park. I said I think so but they would have to decide. They kept trying to make that decision mine but delivery trucks stretch the rules often to park and that's THEIR call. They finally used satellite pictures and called the manager. They decided to use a smaller van but left me in the dark whether things were going smoothly regarding this. Had to call several times to be sure this was resolved.XXXX-Didn't mention about the possible 400.00 extra shuttle charge if they had had to park the large moving truck and trailer away from the residence during the conversation about the parking. I had to ask. They said they don't make money on it. Maybe so but my money doesn't grow on trees and I want predictable expenses.XXXX-Damaged goods- Apple Transport(AT), their minion packed two Chinese ceramic pot incorrectly.  I had inset them between pillow cases after an inexperienced man(later) had inset them/potential chipping of glaze. Upon unloading, guy doubles up the solid square laundry basket containers and puts the pots in it.  AT guys didn't secure the ramp to back of truck properly so, added weight caused handle of laundry container to break, guy compensates with his weight on ramp, ramp is pushed out from under his feet, pots, containers, ramp, and guy fall to the ground. I see container(I thought) in kitchen and contents look fine. Later I found the other similar container with the broken pots inside. In stores these are worth 150 for both easily. Part of a matching set.The large one of 2.5' x 1.5' survived although worth approx 125.00 is devalued. In a set, would be worth more.Cant's match or replace ceramics.Glazes are hard. Insured by weight so only about .65/lb so would only get 25.00 for my claim so didn't file. Added to move expense.XXXX-For insurance and security reasons,I asked ASVLR that all workers be legal and drug free- Apple Transport came with two guys and were lagging behind so they called for two more guys. One guy seemed experienced.Other said he didn't speak English and remained quiet for awhile. He tipped dresser to pick up and all the drawers fell out.I heard it and talked in english to him about it and he understood clearly and conversed more later in the move.If he lied about speaking English, what else was being lied about?XXXX-Didn't pad furniture and refrigerator well. Supposed to pad thingsstarted to move the refrigerator,my mahogany antique bed, chairs, and my desk without doing so. I had to insist they pad them. They didn't come with packing tape or the like to hold the blankets so used mine.I shouldn't have to provide any materials. When we ran out, they acted like that was it so I insisted they get the necessary materials, which they did including more plastic wrap as well. The inexperienced guy mentione before, after putting the drawers back into the desk decided he'd better tap the doors shut by circling my desk with packing tape directly sticking to the finish of the desk instead of putting a pad around it first. Fortunately I heard tape and stopped him after he had done one round. We had to very slowly remove the tape. It pulled some of the finish off but hear the back. What would have happed to my desk if packing tape had been on it for 3 days in the heat?!XXXX-Illegible household goods descriptive inventory was so light as to be barely legible in some places and mostly blank as a poor copy. Guy re-wrote all 6 pages.Otherwise there would have been no proof of what had been packed in that truck.XXXX-Hold up & more lack of communication-I was told they would be arriving in the morning. I wait at the new house.Nobody.Getting later into the day.I call. Movers are having breakfast at a restaurant waiting for ASVLR to process everything so they can unload. Why wasn't I apprised of what was going on? Why wasn't ASVLR on the stick?XXXX-Movers took a break outside while me and Mom had lunch inside. We start to smell cigarette smoke inside the house even though they are outside. I request they put out their cigarettes which they did.Unproffessional to smoke while on site of client.XXXX-The people on the phone were sometimes biligerant but I persisted. This started around the time of insisting they determine whether a semi would be able to park.I was persistant. There was a woman that kept trying to talk over me but she changed after a few calls when she realized that wasn't working.XXXX-Ironically the price ended up being competitive except for the broken stuff and the potential for other damaged stuff etc. etc. ASVLR needs to tighten their ship..a lot.XXXX-I cannot recommend this moving company.

  14. ThievesThis POS company stole equipment and damaged other items. I had.

This POS company stole equipment and damaged other items. I had to contact BBB. This POS company said they would settle, that was last Nov. 2014. I'm talking less than 200.00 and they will not return calls and have not paid me.POS COMPANY!! They switch extension numbers of their personnel so when a person calls they know nothing. This compnay does not return phone calls, so if you get through don't hang up.

  15. Move.

This was the worst move I have ever experienced. The pick up was promised at 8:00 in the morning and they never showed up until 11:00 at night. Any later and I would have had to pay another month of rent! When my belongings arrived, it looked as if everything had been in a tumbler and then thrown from the third story. I could not keep up with the photos and therefore my claim was denied. If you use these people, be sure to photograph or video everything! The estimate was half what the final cost was. Everytime I was contacted with a delivery date, the cost went up! I am glad this ordeal is finally over.
