  1. Regular shipments from South Africa to UK

“Instead of ‘have a nice day,’ I think I’ll start saying, ‘have the day you deserve.’ You know, let karma sort things out.”

And 7 Seas was rebounding EXCELLENT KARMA as usual!

Many thanks to Matt for the Ashford Self Collection pick - up slot on the 7th between 1pm-3pm.

Once again, great service and will continue to be a loyal customer, have been one since they day 7 Seas started in Cape Town 25 years ago !

    PS.

BEFORE CLIENTS SHIPPING TO AND FROM ASIA COMPLAIN THEY SHOULD MAKE SURE THEY CLEARLY UNDERSTAND THE RULES AND REGULATIONS IMPOSED BY THEIR COUNTRY - NOT CONTROLLED BY 7 SEAS !

  2. Utlimate Cheat and Fraud

I have been waiting for more than 5 months now, I was told the goods will arrive in 2-3 months of time. Now, when I am contacting the customer care - There is no update on the goods, they even dont know when I am going to get it. I opted for Baggage moving service from Singapore to Toronto. I am literally not sure what to do now.

  3. Initially good, then just downhill

At first, I was very happy, quick response, scheduling of delivery of empty boxes and pickup was quick. Both was done by UPS, and I could only select a date, with ETA 9am - 6pm, so there were two days I could not go to work.

But then problems started, response to emails only after 48 hours, with no information.

Promised transit time was 14-17 days, still waiting. No answer to emails.

Call from their side, from Kuala Lumpur, long after that. Useless, but almost rude guy, hidden in all the BS "yes Ma'am, thanks Ma'am", basically hung up on me before I could ask about delivery.

Finally an answer to emails, call to customer service, delivery could be arranged. In total the transit time was factor two longer than promised.

Again no arrival time, just a date.

5 Boxes out of 7 were OK. Last one was severely damaged, multiple holes, parts from inside sticking out, shifted during transport, maybe pushed back. This box, the only one of this shipment, was labeled "fragile" and somebody took this as an invitation to use it as a punching bag? Contents, that were carefully wrapped and cushioned when I gave away the package, were so much damaged. Thick metal bent, so no minor scratches or superficial damage.

One further box was also damaged, and several items inside broken, but nothing major.

READ THE FINE PRINT, insurance covers nothing, just loss.

READ THE REVIEWS and see how they like to trash your stuff.

It might be cheap, but the service is outsourced, slow, and non-responsive in inquiries. Not worth the risk. Company does not respect its own values.

Still fighting over the repair of my stuff, and I will not stop.

  4. Heartbreaking and Awful

Seven seas were due to ship my box between Ireland and the UK. They lost my box and did not offer compensation for the amount I had valued it at. They have provided no confirmation of any compensation. This will result in pretty significant financial and personal loss. Pretty awful outcome with this company.

  5. A very disheartening experience.

Background: Shipped 8 standard boxes including a non-standard bicycle box from France to the US

We were in France for 6-7 years and have accumulated a lot of personal items over these years, including personal artworks done by my daughters. Even before the shipment left France, I was notified that one of the boxes labelled kitchen items is missing (this is just a few days after the boxes were picked)!!!

While we comforted ourselves with the thought that the items are replaceable. After few months, when we received the packages here in the US, it turned out that there is miscommunication from the sevenseas side. As the box that is missing contained personal items/artworks/memorable/souvenirs to which one could not tag a value.

Note: During the application process - specifically for insurance purposes, it is advised by the sevenseas not to value the boxes for a large amount.

After raising this issue with sevenseas, we got a reply that they will check in the origin-warehouse (manager). To our surprise, we got a reply within FEW HOURS that they could not locate the box. This left us wondering how would it be physically possible to investigate in such a short span. Still, we are struggling to come to terms with this loss - as deep down we believe that the box is sitting somewhere in the warehouse..

Very unprofessional, I think I am paying for taking the risk and trusting in sevenseas despite the negative reviews.

Being part of the international office of a reputable University, from where I was recommended to sevenseas in the first place. This bitter experience is now pushing me to advise future students and faculty to stay from this shipping service.

  6. Stolen Items

Be very wary of this company!

The tape was cut at the bottom of our boxes & items stolen. When you receive your boxes they look untampered. When all the photo's were sent to Head Office they refused to accept any responsibility, even though we had paid for the extra insurance. When you report this issue to police there is nothing much they can do about it as it is regarded as an overeas crime - Seven Seas realise this so really don't care. Be very wary of trusting this company with your belongings - zero care or ethics!

  7. Removal

Absolutely terrible. Smashed my computer and laptop despite both being wrapped in bubble wrap and pillows. Lost at least one box and refuse to admit liability.

  8. Hold my boxes over 1 yea 8 months and threaten to dispose & sell them

THEY DON"T EVEN WORTH ANY STAR! RUN from this company

My cargo was hired on 23 July, 2019 to ship a small cube with boxes from Singapore to New York. The total bill was SGD$1259 and I paid $300 upfront. They collected my boxes then refused to ship due to my previous visa's remaining days was shorter than their request. They soon forced to put my boxes to their storage and started topping fee without my agreement. The bill ran up insanely to SGD3254.53. In between I explained my visa situation with pending proof from USCIS and attorney. I told them should just ship so the result should come out when it arrives to within their request dates, but the application dragged 10 months til last June, which was unexpected and out of my hands. After 1 year and 8 months now, they're still holding the boxes even my new visa has already passed and issued. I have over months of emails back and forth with them to explain my visa or financial situation and asked them to honoured the contract, but they refuse to ship still. They even threaten to dispose and sell my belongs with record of emails from their manger. I have all emails of conversations that are considered black and white for courts and am totally fine to expose online.

I will post this story in different languages on platforms plus ask help of companies wherever they base to make this known to people online so they can take my lesson and stay far from you.

  9. WARNING - INSURANCE SMALL PRINT IS DODGY; DON'T USE FOR FRAGILE ITEMS

TLDR: If you're sending clothes and tough durable items you'll probably be okay but you're taking a massive risk if you send anything valuable with this firm and the insurance is a waste of money and shouldn't even be offered given the sneaky small print clauses. Long version: I'll start by saying that I've used Seven Seas multiple times and had reasonably good experiences. I usually send tea chests with clothing, books and miscellaneous small items of furniture etc and after a few months my stuff turns up uneventfully. My recent shipment is the first time I ever sent fragile high value items (desktop computer and monitor) and as such took extra care to package them and took out premium insurance. Standard insurance only covers total loss where as premium covers for damage. When I received my unpacked monitor it looked ok but when I turned it on the screen was cracked and totally unusable. The damage is most likely the result of crushing or bending. I put in a claim which was rejected based on this small print: “Evidence of damage to outer packaging must be provided if applicable” and there is an exclusion for damage “To individual items packed by the owner unless there is damage to the outer packaging”. Now I got caught out, this is probably legal but very unethical and sneaky. If a company is going to offer to transport fragile items and offer expensive premium insurance this get-out clause should be front a centre. They effectively don't actually offer insurance for damage unless the whole box gets completely mangled, it's deliberately misleading and I'm going to the insurance regulator and ombudsman regarding how they offer and word these policies.

I'll also note that my computer show signs of damage to the case from crushing or bashing confirming the consignment was stressed but luckily it still works as the cardboard box looked ok so any claim here would have been rejected too.

Fully expecting the reply from seven seas saying they are bound by the insurers decision etc etc. The issue here is ethics and how they offer and word insurance products. I would of been happier if they contacted me and said you know what, we don't want to offer you insurance for these high value goods it's your risk.

  10. 'Sorry we made a mistake'

AVOID AT ALL COST. Incompetent and arrogant. Got a written quote and bought an electronic organ in the US based on the fact that they will import it for me at a certain cost. Days later Celeste, Tian and Dinesh changed their tune. 'We cant import it. We didn't realise that an electronic organ useses electricity! Sorry, we made a mistake' . A R30,000 mistake. Forget trying to get in touch with management in the UK. The moment there is trouble nobody is available. There is a reason why they get such a low rating!

  11. Lost items and worst Customer Service

This company is awful. They overcharged me and are still yet to refund me after nearly 3 weeks. The lost 1 of my 4 boxes that was supposed to be delivered with the rest of them. The customer service is horrendous and unhelpful. I shipped my stuff from Germany to Australia and honestly, it has been the most stressful process with this company. If you are moving overseas or sending stuff home, avoid this company at all costs.

I wish I had read the reviews first. I'm devastated my items are missing as they hold sentimental value to me.

  12. They don’t help you. Don’t use

Take ur money which is over charges but not helping with ur difficulties.

Said 60 days guarantee is a lie , takes around 3 months.

Cantonese customer service representative is rude and will hung up on you.

  13. Falsifying documents

Do NOT use this company. I was asked to falsify documents, and then they refused to refund £305 due to not using their service as we refused to falsify documents.

  14. Worst Customer Service

Worst customer service. If you are thinking of using this company in COVID times, forget it. The customer service did not explain to me correctly about the cancellation policy, and on their website it states you have 2 weeks. I was unable to get home to Australia and they refuse to work with me and give me a refund - even a partial one.

I paid 84€ for some cardboard boxes and awful customer service. Brilliant.

  15. Smooth delivery.

Smooth and prompt delivery of my 8 shipments from the UK to MALAYSIA. Boxes not crushed and everything is perfectly fine upon arrival. Sea freight was cheaper but longer, my stuffs weren’t urgent so I chose that. Waited for around 3 months, and my shipments finally arrived to my door. Drivers were all friendly and helpful, highly recommended to use their service.
