  1. Crooks! Stay Away!!

    The worst.

    They’re criminals.

    Don’t fall victim because they are cheaper.

    I can’t even begin to explain the nightmare this ‘company’ put us through.

  2. Do Not Use These Movers.

    These movers don’t even deserve 1 star. They damaged my house I was moving out of and half of my stuff was damaged. They were 8 hours late showing up to move my stuff out of my house and three weeks late delivering my stuff to my new house. When they damaged my house moving my stuff out they didn’t even tell us about it, we found out from the cleaners that came in after the move. They would not talk to us when we tried to follow up in regards to when we would receive our stuff and were aggressive and threatening. They did come and fix the damage but they would have only did the bare necessities if it wasn’t for my brother who I had watching them made them do the job properly. DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS!!

  3. Smooth move out East.

    I hired Smart Way Movers for my Vaughan ON to Nova Scotia move. The two men arrived in the morning to Tim Hortons coffee and donuts and their rates for additional packaging costs were reasonable. I tipped them afterwards for their hard work and they were on their way. Despite being less than a week later than expected, I do understand cross-country moves are not always on time and most people get fussy I see. It happens and the movers are not always to blame; my things arrived the way I sent them with exception of an old walmart lamp that broke (so what). Thanks for taking care with our move. *thumbs up*.

  4. Move from BC to Ontario.

    Disaster move started July 2018,
    Smartway customer service and assurance that they would do a good job was consistent right up until the truck showed up to move us. The truck was already ¾ full but they said they could get everything in and they wouldn’t rent local storage until 5PM when it was obvious they couldn’t take all our belongings.( the estimate of how much truck we needed was provided by Smartway after I sent them multiple pictures of everything to be moved). Our furniture etc. went into their storage facility, which was an old warehouse in Mississauga, not climate controlled as shown on their website. ALL of our furniture was damaged, even the couches they wrapped in plastic, and some furniture and boxes lost somehow as well. Company Management remains anonymous and they won’t take any complaints. I had to take the company to small claims court and we won an out of court settlement in April 2019 as Smartway realized they were totally at fault. I would not recommend this company as their management has failed to provide quality training and processes for their employees.

    Stay away this company, I am missing a lot stuff is there is any way people can get back their stuff, or avoid broken stuff, stay away this company they are fraud they put nice lady salesperson other stuff are not good , they guy name David when call him he change his name and his voice lol what’s kind a company is this. stay away please.

  6. Terrible Customer Service.

    I am going to share an email I wrote to the manager of Smart Way Moving. I don’t usually ask people to share but in this case I am asking. This company should not be in business!! I sent this email last Friday. This is the third email I have sent to him. I sent the first one on March 18, a follow up on the 20 and this one on the 22. Still no response. By posting this I realize that I can kiss my missing box goodbye, but I honestly don’t give a flying $&@&!!
    When I hired them I was told that I would receive my things between Feb 20 and 25 and that I would pay the balance of what I owed them when they off loaded my things. I was also told my things would be shipped on a tractor trailer.
    The day after they picked up Feb 9 I got an email stating I needed to pay the balance of my statement. I called the office once I arrived in Ontario and told the lady that was not what I was told. She said “You need to pay now”. I said “ not happening give me your manager”. I got David. He told me it was all fine and I could pay when they delivered. I asked him when I would get my things and he said the shipment was leaving Vancouver the next day and he would be in touch. After a couple of days he hadn’t called, I called and asked for him. Once he came to the phone he yelled at me for calling and asking for him. He said” the answer will be the same from all of us”. I said ok can you tell me why it’s taking so long? He said no and he had another client on the phone and he hung up on me. I was furious and you could hear it in my voice I am sure when I called back. He told me I would take delivery in Mar 8. I remember thinking I can do 10 more days!! The email will tell the rest of my story. Please please please don’t hire this company to move your stuff.
    And and FYI when I talked to him on the Thursday and was told I was not getting my delivery on Friday Nikki Laurin was standing beside me and she heard every word he screamed at me. I didn’t have him on speakerphone!! Here is the email I wrote him.

    Hello David.
    I will now assume that you can’t be bothered to help me find my missing product. I sent you an email Sunday night. I reminded you on Wednesday. And now it’s Friday and you have not responded to any of my emails. I have tried calling twice and you will not come to the phone. I know I am not your favourite customer because you seem to think I was harassing you and your staff. I was merely trying to find out when I was going to get my stuff. You see when I hired you people to move me, I was told by your salesperson that I would take delivery between the 20th and the 25th of February. When I didn’t receive a call from you then I called to ask when I would get my things. You said March 8. That was on the 26 of Feb. I remember thinking ok 10 more days. Then I called on Monday March 4 to confirm and was told yes I was getting my stuff on Friday. I made arrangements for a friend of mine to come to help me unpack. I called on Thursday the 7 to confirm and was told that I was not getting my stuff the next day. Of course I was upset. But I never once swore or was disrespectful. And by the way your girl Brenda was terrific. You on the other hand acted like a total jerk. I was also told by your people that my things would be on a tractor trailer not a rail car. You called me a liar and told me that I wasn’t allowed to call there anymore. All I wanted was to know when I would take delivery of my things, and why it was taking so long. I explained I had been sleeping on an air mattress for over a month and you didn’t even care, you just hung up on me.
    I have decided this will be my last attempt to give you the opportunity to show me that you actually care about your customers. I await your response David, but at this point I don’t expect it.

  7. Worst company I've ever dealt with in my entire life.

    I have never complained or expressed my dissatisfaction online. However; if I could prevent anyone from ever ever ever using this company, I will do so. From the beginning to end this company has been extremely unprofessional and verbally abusive. I've never seen a company, especially someone in the management team ( David and Michael) speak to customers is such a degrading demeaning manner. When I asked David for the owners or anyone above him contact information to express my dissatisfaction, he said quote" No, I'm the manager and that's all you need to know, I will not give you anything, do you call Rogers and ask to speak to the CEO). The items were not delivered still waiting and its been 4 weeks, he cancelled my delivery simply because he wanted to give me a hard time. I don't think a company like this should ever be in business if they have no respect for people. When I asked David if he treats all his customer like this he answered: " just the ones that I dislike and give me a headache". Rating is -100 not 1.

  8. All-around Terrible Service.

    I hope to prevent anyone else from having to deal with a company that has such complete disregard for their own tagline of "Total Commitment to Quality Service".
    Smart Way is a dishonest, and very disrespectful company.
    Absolutely the worst customer service myself and my family have EVER had on both the shipping and receiving end. They gave a quote and then charged an outrageously higher price. They were elusive about when our belongings would actually arrive, and it took four weeks to arrive instead of the previously agreed-upon two. They were not forthcoming with any information about our belongings' whereabouts or delivery date. They demanded that we pay before receiving the belongings, so we were unable to see their condition until after we had paid (surprise - the boxes were completely battered). They said they would arrive for delivery between 9 and 10am, and at 10:30 when they had not arrived, we called, only to be told that they were delayed and would arrive in an hour (but didn't think they needed to call us to tell us this). They did not arrive until 1pm - a full FOUR HOURS after they said they would arrive. They will completely disregard your schedule. I called the office to raise my concerns, only to receive the worst customer service EVER - I was hung up on twice, and spoke to a David, who was incredibly rude to me. I am appalled that they are able to keep a business operating when this is how they treat their customers.
    I'm disappointed that I have to give them even one star in order to leave this review.

  9. Horrilbe service and damaged goods.

    I moved with them and was quoted 2 weeks, the delivery took 2 months. I had 2 items damaged to the point that one is unusable. The delivery guy's left garbage in my yard when they left and I am not being reimbursed for the damaged items. Stay clear from them at all cost. I even caught one of the guys sliding a large box down the stairs.

    Hired Smartway for my move. Movers did a great job. Happy with the process. Victoria was accomodating and helpful. No damages. Delivery was within given time range. Would use again.

  11. Stay away!

    This company took six weeks to deliver my belongings from Alberta to B.C. They told me it would only take four days. When I tried contacting them during this time I was ignored. When my furniture finally arrived, some items were severely damaged. When trying to contact their "claims department," I was told I need to speak with someone who did not exist. I eventually gave up.
    Avoid at all costs!

  12. Moved from Calgary to Toronto.

    Sales man David is a fraud. If there was a negative star I would have given it to this company. If there is a negative five star I would have definitely given it to this company. Don't do the mistake of hiring this company for moving. *They will ruin each and every piece of your furniture. Period*.

  13. Criminals.

    One of the pick up locations of our move has recently been broken into and I am positive it was the movers from Smartway. We are currently in the process of conducting a criminal investigation and we have substantial evidence backing our suspicions to lay substantial charges on both the movers and the company. If anyone else has a similar experience - please contact me.

    Additionally our entire move was a complete disaster ad one of the worst experiences of my life. These people are criminals, stay away unless you want your items damaged, stolen, received far too late or you want to pay 3x’s more than the original amount (charged to our credit card without authorization weeks before we received our things) Im certain all of these positive reviews posted are employees of the company. Stay as far away as possible from them.

  14. Given False Information.

    I was initially very pleased with this company. Victoria was pleasant and easy to deal with; however, she provided me with false information and tried to blame it on company policies changing. When I booked the move I was told to pay the $100 deposit upfront and the rest of the payment would be due when my belongings arrived at my new location. One week after they picked up my things I was sent an invoice and immediately charged for the entire move. The money was taken out of my account before I even saw the invoice and I was not given any opportunity to use a different credit card as I was planning to do. I asked several times about this and all Victoria could tell me was that maybe their billing policies have changed. I called the company and spoke with the person who answered the phone as well as the account and they both informed me it has always been company policy that they take payment before the move. I tried to discus this issue with Victoria and she did not respond to my messages even though the previously had also been very quick to reply. I even asked for the number for a manager I could speak with and she still did not respond. She also told me when I booked the move that it would take 1-2 weeks for my things to arrive and it actually took 4 weeks. I found out from another employee at the company that this was average time. I understand that the company has its policies and procedures and I am more than happy to abide by them but the misinformation I was given resulted in extra charges for me from my bank and no attempt was made by any of the three people I spoke with to resolve this or even admit they made a mistake. The movers themselves were very professional and efficient but the individuals at the office were very unhelpful.

  15. Speedy sevrice.

    Guys packed up our house and in one day and arrived in ontario and returned the items next day .
    They work fast and they extremely friendly , head office always follows up . David and Victoria called at least 3 times to make sure everything was going well
    Accounting was easy to deal with
