  1. I got ripped off.

Consumers and Carriers Beware, Summit Van Lines is a Scam Operated by Ofer Gazit and Guy Shoshan, do not let the name Summit Van Lines fool you, they are no different than the local rogue company. Summit Van Lines and their associates are nothing but a bunch of Lying thieves. I have complaint to the BBB regarding their practices and they responded with nothing but lies! Not only did they defraud my company by $1020 but they have also charged for cubic feet that wasn’t correct, and damaged all of our customers furniture at the time of delivery. They also refuse to pay for damages to the customer and return all federal contract back to my company, I have also heard from other moving companies they have been a victim of their so call Credit refund and lack of original contract being send back to the originating carrier. Employees working for Summit Van Lines have also come forward regarding their pay being cheated and not being told prior that they made a mistake in some case some of their labor workers came forward and told me that when Guy Shoshan was confronted of the pay error that they made an excused that they damaged something or that they didn’t work the hours etc. the list goes on. A company like Summit Van Lines should be under investigation by Immigration, Labor department and other federal departments regarding their business practice. I have already launch several complaints to federal and local authorities regarding their business practice along with affidavit sworn testimonials of prior employees that have had issues along with prior carriers that they have defrauded. STAY AWAY FROM SUMMIT VAN LINES. DO NOT BE THEIR NEXT VICTIM. .

  2. Easy moving experience.

Me and my family recently used Summit vanlines for our move.Wewere reffered to use them by a family friend we have known for a long time.We contacted our sales represntative which was easy and fast to get a precise quote. He explained the quote with perfect precision so I was quite impressed and decided to use them.On the move date our crew shows up all in proper attire and looking very proffessional. We had them provide us with a full service job.All our items were packed professionally at the price we agreed to on the quote. We received all our items three days later in good condition. The guy brought all our stuff up two floors at no additional cost which is a plus.I will definitely return the favor and reccomend them to my other friends and family.

  3. Highly Recomended.

I recently moved from Miami Beach to NYC. A friend of mine refered me to Summit Van Lines. Once calling I was offered with a free onsite service Sammy the onsite estimator came by and provided me with a binding quote free of charge. On move date 3 movers showed up on time they were friendly and professional they took their time to wrap up my items with great care. On delivery in NYC the movers had an insurance certification with them for the building they brought up my stuff to the 15th floor they unwrapped everything and placed all my items at their place. The price that was quoted was the price that I paid not a penny extra. Thank you Summit for a great moving expreience.    .

  4. Very Highly NOT recommending Summit or Aone Vanlines.

Never ever hire Summit Vanlines or (Aone Vanlines) for moving, they simply suck every drop of your blood with collaboration of Aone Vanlines. Agreed to pay by weight $.55 cents for pound with Summit, but ended up paying (double) high price of $3.85 per cubic feet. Since they don't have office in NY, they subcontracted my move to Aone Vanlines. Aone doesn't care abt Summit and they will show very high  professionalism in every step of the way to suck every penny out of u in terms of packing, tape, bubble wrap, boxes, assembly, lifting, estimating, fuel, moving, storage and finally tips. The movers will keep the items in storage and combine your items with some others until it is filled in trailer and hire a company who can take oall items for cheaper price. Self moving is the BEST option.

  5. Worst experience ever!!

We had a contract to move from Memphis, TN to Silverdale, WA on 08/17/2013.  First they made us pay 50% which I found out you should not pay anything until you items are received. I called twice during the week of 8/26 and was told by Roxanna to call back the next week to find out information.  Well I called back two weeks straight and left voice mails and could not get any information.  I then called another number I found online and spoke to Charlie in dispatch and he said that he didn't know anything there were no notes this was the 2nd week in September.  My husband then called everyday day multiple times a day and we finally got that the items hadn't yet left Memphis.  He then stated that our delivery would be the week of 9/18/2013.  The driver finally called us on September 15 and states that he will be there on the next day at 4 pm and that we had a balance due of $2021 which was $750 above our balance and he couldn't tell us why it was so much.  We called everyone for 24 hours and no one could help us then Yosel a representative gave us the Customer service manager number Jenifer 954-712-4321.  She was the rudest customer service manager I have ever met.  They didn't have the contract but could tell me that $350 charge for packing when everything was pack.  Finally when I asked to speak to the manager of the manager someone wanted to help me.  They charge me 200 for mattress covers that I bought myself and put on myself before they even came.  They charge for 2 TV boxes when they were included with the move.  They then charge $75 for tape that they used to tape their own blankets on the furniture that  was supposed to be included in the move.  They charge $100 to wrap the sofa when it was supposed to be included.  The driver lied and said there was no coupon given when it was clearly written that it was on the paperwork and he didn't want to redeem it.  My husband who is active duty got to leave work early which was a big deal and myself left work early because the driver said he would be here on 9/16 between 2-4pm.  Well after we were already home waiting he called after the time scheduled and said the truck broke down.  The contract said 28 days and that was the 28th day. The driver said he should only be a little while down and would be there in the morning.  Again no show, that's 2 days of missed work.  He then scheduled for 2 pm on Wednesday September 18 we called and called and he kept saying 20 minutes.  He didn't show until 11:30 pm at night.  We have a noise ordinance that stops at 10 pm.  We give them the remaining balance and then they tell my husband that we have to pay $75 per flight of stairs when I say in our contract no extra charge for stairs. He then pulls out another company's paper for some other delivery and says it's just like this.  That had nothing to do with us or our delivery He wouldn't unload the truck. I tried to call the company but it was after hours and no one would answer.  I have to go to the ATM at almost 1 AM to get $150 to pay for them to give us our furniture and bring it in my apartment. The absolute worse experience of my life.

  6. Do NOT do business with this company!

My wife and I used this company when we had a job relocation from Florida to North Carolina. We had them pack, and move everything.
The problems encountered are so bad, the rival most any poor experience I have had with a company in the 15 years I have been in business.
First of all, almost all the expectations set by the salesman were false. We found out that all the language in the contracts were contrary to what the salesperson explained on almost every point. It was designed to ensure we had no recourse of action to get money back after the fact.
Example 1: We were told the basic insurance would cover $.60 on each item. Example, if a TV cost $1000 new and they damaged it, we would receive $600 back. So when our $2,500 mattress was completely destroyed, after going through the claim, we received only the weight of the mattress, which resulted in a $35 reimbursement!
Example 2: We were told that the estimate was very high on the weight, but that the company would always weigh the truck and then discount us after the fact. To the contrary, when we called to find out the weight difference afterwards, they told us that our contract said we didn't have that option.

This was just a few examples. Movers showed up drunk, were rude, and they had hired local staff even though they advertise that all employees work for them. That was false.
After a very horrible experience on almost every level, the company refused to respond to our complaint. We spoke to the same woman over and over and she promised a call back, and after weeks or months, she would act as if she didn't know who we were.

The customer service is horrible. They don't treat you as a human in trouble. It is quite honestly the most horrible company I have ever ever, ever worked with on every level.
Do not do them the favor of doing business with them. You will stand a high chance of being equally disappointed. .

  7. Worst moving experience imaginable.

I verified a pick up date for my move from Memphis to Charleston. 24 hours prior to my scheduled move date, I was told they could not come. I was told they may be able to come 24 hours after the agreed date. While this interfered with my move significantly, I understand things happen. The day of the second scheduled move date, they were an hour late. I was told they would come in, look at my belongings, and give me an exact price. Everything was packed and out in the open. He looked around, gave me a price, and a contract was signed. He also took half of my payment via credit card. I was previously told the average move time was 2-4 hours. Almost 8 hours later, the movers stopped. They told me they needed more money. They underestimed the amount of stuff I had and how much room it would take in the truck. I told him we have a signed contract stating the price and he could not make me pay more. He called his boss, who verified they needed more money. He then asked to speak to me on the movers cell phone. He was rude and pushy. He said he would have his men unload my things and leave them in the street if I did not give him more money. At this point I was in tears. My apartment lease was up, I had no where to go, and I could not move all of my stuff alone. I called the police, to ask if they could do anything. 3 officers showed up, and the movers agreed to continue moving my things. However, he said it was only because he was so tired. His boss still wanted him to unload my things. He also told me he had no more room in his truck and he could not take the remainder of my things. I was then forced to load my car alone. After it was packed full, I had to throw out the remainder of my belongings because I had no more room. This included an old record player. The next day, I was driving back to SC when I was called by the mover. He said he had to deliver Sunday. I stated on my contract the only day they could not deliver was Sunday, due to restrictions of my new townhome community. He said it would be a "very big problem" if I was not available on Sunday. My parents dropped everything and begged the complex to give them the keys so I could move in Sunday. My dad drove across town and the townhome community stayed late to give my dad the keys. 1 hour prior to scheduled delivery, the driver calls and says he is in Alabama and will not be delivering today. I told him he had to have known this yesterday. He was either driving to Sc, or he wasn't. He then yelled and hung up the phone on me. A few days later, my things were delivered. There were dents in every piece of wood furniture I own, and the fragile boxes were thrown about and stacked without care. This was the most stressful moving experience I could have imagined. Please do no use this company. I truly think it is a scam.

  8. I couldn't be more satisfied with my choice.

I am glad I chose Summit van line for move. Their sales rep was very polite and attentive, their crew was professional and polite they were honest and upfront about everything they explained everything and made sure it was approved by me. They were on time and didn't waste no time getting to me new location. Everything got there damage free. I couldn't be more satisfied with my choice.

  9. Summit Van Lines - Be Wary.

I would suggst you do not use Summit Van Lines if you have real interest in knowing what it will cost you, or even close to that, before hand.  I did the most thorough job I could in that regard given there was no on-site estimator in this area that could come and look at the job first.  I gave a very detailed inventory to Yousel and was told that in doing so I could get a "Binding" cost of services, and not just an "estimate".  Well, there is nothing binding about a "Binding" cost of services as I found out later.  The binding cost was $2600 for about 5200 lbs of items for movement from North Carolina to Colorado.  My inventory list had 127 items on it, to include an accurate couunt of all boxes by size so that Summit could more closely estimate the weight.  I really felt that if they knew what they were doing, they should be relatively close in estimating with a very detailed and accuract inventory count.  I was told that as well by Summit.  After all, this is their business.  WRONG.  The loaders showed up in a 28 foot Ryder rental truck, proceeded to fill it approximately half full, and inform me that I had 1000 cubic feet of goods and the revised cost would be $4700 (which included a $350 charge for having to use a shuttle truck since semi's are not allowed in the development - this was not discussed prior or included in the original estimate by the way so please take note).  Only a mere $2000 off of the original "binding" cost of services.  I was told in response after I expressed my extreme displeasure that, "but you actually had 150 items in your inventory, not 127 so that could account for some of the difference" - REALLY, are you serious with that argument?  My inventory count went to 150 from 127 largely because they break the beds down and tag each indivudal  piece as an inventory item (headboard, footboard, side rail, side rail, supports, box spring, mattress) so while on my "binding" cost of services my inventory shows 2 beds, the number of inventory items for the 2 beds is actually 16 or 18 items on the inventory assembled during loading.  So much for that logic.  Anyway, long story short, I told the loader to go weigh it and I am waiting to hear what that will be.  I would describe this as either intentional bait and switch, or really, really poor at estimating.  I am expecting the next problem, aside from this cost difference, will be failure of the goods to arrive in Colorado in "very likely 6 to 8 days" as I had been assurred on several contacts with customer service.  I guess you do get what you pay for and I should know better, Summit was far more reasonable in the estimated cost to move these goods than other companies I checked into and that should have been my first clue that it was not what it appeared.  At $4600 I could have used for not that much more several companies that would have taken the goods right from loading to the destination, then at least I could be sure I get them timely.  In this case who knows and I am likely looking a $2000 more than expected in costs. In fairness, the loaders were very professional, polite and efficient.   Good guys.  Too bad they work for this company and are left to deliver the "bad news" to the customer like this while those in customer service make everything sound rosey right up until the move!! My advice - if you are going to use Summit, only do so if there is an on-site estimator in your area who can come to your location and give you a good estimate (I hope).  I would not do this otherwise unless you like to roll the dice.  And, don't waste your time on the "Binding"cost of services - that is a marketing ploy that is spun to make you feel better about how closely your actual costs will match with the estimate, there is nothing 'binding' about it.

  10. Summit Van Lines Move.

Both drivers (pick-up and delivery were 2 different people) were straight to the point (no nonsense type of guys) when answering any questions that I had. I am unsure if I was overcharged or not, as my quote was $1723.04, but I actually paid $2700. I had to purchase about 5 boxes from the driver because I ran out, which added to my cost. The driver that picked up my items advised me that I could either take the binding fee he was quoting ($2700) or I could allow them to weigh out the truck with my items on it, and then I would have to pay the total actual weight of my goods at $0.48 cents per pound. He advised me that by looking at all of my possessions he could see that it would be approximately $3,000 to $3,500 that I would have to pay if I chose the weighted option. The driver did pack all of my furniture very well and with great care, which I greatly appreciated. When I received my goods 2 weeks later, one piece of furniture was broken: my tv stand. Prior to packing we figured that this would happen because it was made of pressed wood, so it was understandable. I am also currently waiting on a box that was missing from my collection. The driver that delivered my items unpacked very quickly, and had everything inside my apartment and put back together in about 2-2.5 hours.

  11. Horrible!!

I will start at the beginning to give you a clear picture of our move. When the movers showed up in Tampa, FL, I was constantly questioned as to all my items. Sammy, our move coordinator, had assured me that if my inventory did not change, our price would stay the same. The mover was starting to get irritated as he said all my items were heavy and if I did not pay more he would have to pay the difference. I called Sammy about this and Sammy spoke to the mover. Sammy and the mover were actually yelling at each other over the phone. Sammy then told me to no longer talk to the movers as they do not know what they are doing. One of the movers then called his boss and put me on the phone with him. His boss explained to me that my quote would be an extra 10%. I then explained to him that was not what Sammy said and that he needed to speak to Sammy. He then put me on hold for 10 minutes, came back and said ok the price would not change. I do not understand how all these people who work for the same company can come up with so many different rules and regulations where it should all be standard. When they were all done, the mover wanted me to sign the non-binding estimate form and I refused and would only sign the binding form. I feel as if had I not done all my homework; I would have been taken advantage of, but because I knew better, Summit was forced to follow what they had initially told me. I thought all of this was bad that was nothing compared to what we went through when our items arrived to Denver.   On Friday June 7th, the driver called us to let us know he would be at our condo Saturday the 8th between 5-8 pm. At 8:30 pm on Saturday, the driver called again and said he would be about another 45 minutes. He then asked me if I had payment for him. I told him I did, that I went to Wells Fargo and got a cashiers check. Once I told him this, he started yelling at me. He started yelling that he will only accept cash or a money order from the post office. I explained to him that a cashiers check was an acceptable form of payment as it was not a personal check and cost me $10 at Wells Fargo. He did not agree with me and basically just screamed at me over the phone for about 20 minutes. As you know on your paperwork it states "Delivery at the delivery location we do not accept Credit Card or personal Checks payment can be made only in the form of cash, money order or cashiers check."  Once he stopped yelling at me, I called Summit Van Lines and left a message with the answering service. A dispatcher called back and told me that the cashiers check would be fine. He apologized for his driver screaming at me, stating that he is usually a really nice guy and just had a bad day, but he would be better before he arrived that evening at our condo. Well, unfortunately, that was not the case. When the driver arrived, he immediately asked for the payment (not even a hello or handshake first) once I handed him the cashiers check he took a picture of it and sent it to someone. We stood there until this person wrote back and said it was acceptable. Then the really bad part started. At about 9:30 pm they started to unload the truck in the dark. As I stood there and watched them unload the truck I was horrified. They were basically laying boxes on there sides, upside down, etc. I had 2 tv boxes I purchased that were clearly marked with an arrow stating THIS SIDE UP FRAGILE. Well they must have taken this as a joke, as they laid the box on its side first and then decided to move it upside down. I also noticed a couch being unloaded with my belongings. I decided to say something to the driver as I did not have a couch and wanted to save them the time of bringing the couch up to my unit. When I explained to them I did not have a couch, he argued with me for a few minutes insisting it was mine. I tried to explain to him that I did not have a couch at all. Finally, they went to put the couch back in the truck and what they did shocked me. They actually were throwing the couch back into the truck. Literally throwing it on its side back into the truck. I feel bad for who's couch that was. At this time, I saw something that is still shocking to this day that unfortunately I do not think I will be able to forget. The drivers shorts were ripped from the bottom all the way to the top. He was wearing underwear, but they were ill fitting and I was forced to see his [EDIT] for the remaining 2 hours they were in my home. Yes-that is correct my mover had his [EDIT] out during my entire move.   Once the truck was unloaded (and the items that were not mine were thrown back on the truck) the movers were ready to bring all my items into my condo. I live on the 3rd floor, but we do have freight elevators that were padded for use by the movers. This is when the driver decided to stand in the elevator while the other mover threw him my boxes to load the elevator. They were about 20 feet away from each other and I watched horrified as all my items were being thrown around and placed on their sides, upside down, etc. Literally, everything I owned was being thrown. I decided to not speak up as I was a female home alone, 10 pm at night, with strange men screaming at me, one who had his [EDIT] out. Once they got off the elevator, I showed them where my front door was and the driver lost it. He started screaming that I needed to pay him $500 for him to move my items into my condo as it was a long walk. He was yelling that they would have to walk a mile with my stuff and I needed to pay for that. Well, I ended up counting and from the truck to the elevator it was 32 feet, from the elevator to my front door was 103 feet-hardly the mile he was yelling about. What condo building is more than a mile long anyway? Sounds a bit crazy. As you know on your paperwork it states "No charge for extra pickup, elevator, stairs or excessive carrying." Although I do not consider 135 feet excessive carrying. I explained to the driver what was on my paperwork and that we would not pay any extra. He then decided to just get it done I guess but in the most aggressive way possible. On his next elevator ride, when the door opened he was standing on one of my boxes and quickly jumped off when he saw I was watching. They would basically bring stuff into my condo and just dump it. Whether it was on its side, upside down, etc. They put everything in the middle of one room and basically threw it down while they went to go get another load they were just going to throw down. Nothing was brought to there specified rooms. Heck, I would have settled for stuff at least being right side up. Boxes were crushed and ripped open. At one point, the driver started yelling at me that one box I had was very heavy and asked me what was inside. On the top of the box was written "Sweaters" so I explained to him it was clothes. He preceded to tell me it was not sweaters, it was too heavy and it must have metal in the box. Not sure why this mattered to him, but for some reason it did. About 3 hours later they had finished damaging and throwing all my stuff into my condo. The driver then said to me "Did you like the job we did, give us a tip." I then calmly explained to him that I would not be tipping him as he threw all my items around and spent the entire time yelling at me about payment, walking a mile, heavy boxes, etc. all while his [EDIT] was in my face. He then grabbed his dolly, yelled something in another language and left. On Monday, June 10th, I called Summit Van Lines first thing so I could rely what had happened during our move. Roxanna in customer service, seemed to care and told me she would speak to her managers about what to do. The next day she called back to tell me she was still working on it. About 2 days later I called her back and she told me they were waiting to speak to the drivers. I then asked to speak to her manager (Roxanna said "I was waiting for you to say that") when the manager got on the phone, she could not have cared less. She explained that they needed to speak to the driver and would take about 2 weeks for them to get back to me. She had no sense of urgency in her voice nor did she issue any sort of apology for what had happened. I decided to write this letter as I do not feel that anyone was planning on following up with me on this matter. I got the feeling that they were just pushing me off until I gave up or forgot. Well that is not going to happen. I was verbally harassed and also sexually harassed due to the driver exposing his [EDIT] to me throughout the move. Not to mention the fact that I live in fear as these movers know where I live and it makes me feel very uncomfortable. I feel that Summit Van Lines is not taking this very seriously.

  12. Easy and stress free.

I moved a lot because of my job I had some good experience and some bad but moving with Summit was my best experience by far the services was awesome the crew was great and the price was reasonable from the way everything went you can tell they have a lot of experience they knew exactly what they were doing everything was done professionally I appreciate you made my move so easy and stress free thank you summit van lines.

  13. Extortion.

I provided Summit the actual weight from my move to Austin from Orlando for a return trip from Austin back to Orlando.  The items in the estimate didn't change.  The estimate was increased by 25% anyway.   At pickup I was given the choice of actual weight or the estimate provided.  I selected the acutal weight and was within 50 pounds of my estimate.   Summit wants to deny the latest agreement and still charge to highest price.   They have reneged on the agreement and are holding my furnture hostage for more money.  This is called extortion.   I am drafting a complaint to the Attorney General of Texas and Florida.  Not only is it poor business practice to provide grossly inflated estimates, but it is criminal to extort more money for a move.   I plan on having a sherriff available when the furniture is finally delivered. More to follow.

  14. Thank you Summit for making my move easy and stress free.

Choosing Summit van lines for my move was the best diction I made. At first I was really scared after all the horror stories I heard about moving companies. I did my research and after speaking to Summit, I felt the most safe with them. They didn't disappoint me. They gave me the best service possible. They took care of my items like they were there own and store them for free for a month until I fund my new place. I couldn't ask for more. Thank you, Summit for making my move easy and stress free.

  15. Good.

Overall a good experience. Yousel our Sales Rep made sure everything worked out really well. For what was moved a great deal. Very good communication. Took great care to really cover furnishings. Very much on time and schedule. Peter and Serge were great to work with and really took time with you to find out what you wanted done. They were very fast and efficient in moving everything where we wanted. A pleasure to work with everyone at Summit in a stressful relocation interstate move.
