  1. Worst moving Company EVER.

If I could give this "moving" company a NEGATIVE rating I would, considering they are NOT an actually moving company they are a dispatch company that hires other companies to more your things for them. Right from the get go I should have noticed the red flags, they seemed to be kind and greatly priced once I said I would hire them to be my moving company it all went down hill from there. Not only was it impossible to get ahold of my customer service rep, but when it came down to actually having… read more a dispute and told her I was tired of the nonsense and wanted to make a complaint she told me this was not necessary and did not give me the information of her manager until I insisted once again. Once I finally got ahold of their so called "manager" I figured things would work out, boy was I mistaken. Not only did I waste numerous time and patience with this woman, they have now also wasted my money. I could send this woman 3 emails before she would get back to me and trying to get ahold of someone in the office in nearly impossible as they seem to ALWAYS be "out." After all the issues I have had with this company I have not been given a single apology, or explanation as why they seem to utterly incompetent and rude. A move that would have cost me 3000$ with any other moving company has now cost me 4500$ and did I mention I still haven't received my items. As of tomorrow I "should" have my items finally after being almost half a month late, and I will be posting pictures as I can already assume there will be damage and missing items as they continue to astound me with their incompetence. Not only is Trillium moving the worst company to do business with, the actual movers they hire are beyond rude and always late. They give you a 4 hour window to when they will arrive and still can't even manage to be on time. First time they showed up they were an hour late after the window they had given us, the second time they were 2 hours later after the window they had given us, so I expect nothing less when they arrive tomorrow. No only were they late both times but when they did arrive they did not give us an explanation as to why or a single apology, not only this but they were extremely rude when they spoke to us and took no care when moving our items. I will be posting more after they show up AGAIN tomorrow, but I would like to reiterate Trillum Moving is the WORST company you could ever chose to move your belonging. If you care about your belongings, time, money and patience DO NOT use this company and inform anyone you know who will be moving to do the same as I will be with all of my friends and family.

  2. Worst Move ever.

We chose Trillium to move our household and Parent's houshold from BC and Alberta Respectively in May 2013. I am not even sure where to start. First I was informed one week before the move that they would arrive one week early because that was what was convenuent for their driver, so we had to stay in a hotel..not very great for us! When our stuff finally arrived in Nova Scotia it was almost at their convenience not ours, but I put my foot down and had to force them to come 2 days before I had to start work, otherwise their preference was to deliver after I started work. Every single item was damaged..boxes were squashed and ripped open, there were footprints all over every piece of furniture including the broken bookcase I used to have. All of our glass items were smashed and broken and our big screen TV was completely smashed which was packed by Trillium who charged us an additional $100 for the TV box! Trillium also charged me an additional $250!because their truck could not make the turn into our driveway but this was eventually refunded to shut us up about the destroyed furniture and boxes, but only after I emailed the photos to Kate. NEVER use this moving company if you want your things to arrive in one piece. We were not provided with a weigh slip until we demanded it as the cost to receive our smashed and broken belongins was $3000 approx. over what we were quoted in the beginning.   My parents had an identical experience and they were in the Military and had never had anythingarrive broken and damaged before. We would like to warn people not to use Trillium as that is the only recourse we will ever have. Thank you, Trina Gree.

  3. Look elsewhere.

Terrible service. Rude and argumentative upon pickup. Damaged furniture, one box soaked in grease and dirt. Took a month to deliver possessions. After two and a half weeks of being led on about delivery date was given 24 hours to procure three times the original quote and only after actively asking for total amount. Charged for wrapping which was declined and a storage fee even though it was made painfully clear to the company we required our shipment as quickly as possible. Worst customer service I have ever experienced.

  4. Worst company ever.

I chose this company because they offered a nice rate. They were late about 4 hours for the pick up. When they arrived and moved everything, they charged me for some covers they used.  as it was a long distance move, they said they can store everything for free until my move in date. But, they charged me $100 for the storage. I had to claim that amount.. The day of the move in,  they were late once again for about 5 hours. They damaged several of my furniture. I had for almost $5000 in loss. Brand new white leather sofa I bought 7 months ago, leather chaise lounge, dresser, bed frame.. I claimed for all of these and they made me wait about 5 weeks to tell me I will receive $100 for my claim. I moved a lot in my life, from 3 continents, and this is the first time I have so bad experience with a moving company. I will never do business with them anymore. If my review can prevent this nightmare, I'll be very glad.

  5. Poor experience overall.

My wife and I hired Trillium to move our belongings from a storage unit in Fredericton to our new home in Calgary.  We chose them from a large pool of big and small movers that all had good and bad reviews.  Overall our experience was poor, but from what I've learned since sharing experiences with many people who have hired many different movers, it was a typical moving experience.  Maybe the whole industry is broken.  Maybe the rates are too low to be able to provide consistently good service. We had a few of damaged items, a lost lawnmower, and lots and lots of scuffs and nicks and scratches.  The damaged items were all packed by the movers, and after watching how a move goes I'm not surprised that so many items got banged up in the process.   My estimated and actual weights were very different (actual was almost double) but since the estimate was done using industry standards for our goods I wasn't surprised that there was a difference.  You pay for what the load actually weighs, so there really isn't much use in estimates, only the price/lb and the conditions of the move are important when comparing movers.   I requested a weigh scale ticket to show the tare and load weights and justify the final invoice, and what I was given was a note on Trillium letterhead stating that the load was weighed at their own scale in Toronto and stated the net weight.  That wasn't going to fly with my company (who were paying for my move) so I then requested (in fact, argued for) a re-weigh at a public certified scale.  It's important to note that using public certified scales is required in the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario Regulation 643/05 (Section 18.1) and the other provincial Regs I looked at as well.  Of course normally there's no way to know what's in the truck when the weights are taken, but that's another story.. Anyway, I was surprised to see that there was a significant difference between Trillium's own scale and the truck stop scale.  Trillium's weight was much higher (>1200 lbs). I was provided a refund for the difference in weight as well as the re-scaling fee (the truck stop charged $200, which I payed for out of pocket) without hesitation, but also without an explanation.     Two small but not insignificant good parts of the whole experience: communication was professional and timely, and delivery was only a little late.   I also learned a funny thing: the movers (any movers) have little motivation other than online reviews to provide good service: if you're insured, then the insurance company will pay for damages; if you're not insured, then nobody pays for damages.  The moving company is only responsible for $0.60/lb whether we're talking a box of old paperbacks or a big screen TV.     Next time - as much as it will be difficult - we'll get a UHaul and drive our own stuff across the country.    .

  6. STOLEN iMAC, new & in box!

I gave them 1 star because there wasn't an option to give zero.
This company was a disaster to deal with, and I would NOT recommend them to anyone. I'm in the process of taking them to small claims court, as someone stole my new iMac (was in box AND listed specifically on the itemized contract) in addition to random overage charges (including a parking ticket??) AND failure to provide a guaranteed, government stamped weight page.
The customer service reps were completely unprofessional - one even attempted to bribe me by saying they'd remove the charges (that I wasn't contractually responsible to pay), if I would provide in writing that I wouldn't write a bad review. Who does that??
Anyway, to sum it up - they overcharged me by close to $800, stole my new iMac, and was almost a month late in delivering my goods.

  7. Move to Toronto.

Last weekend I completed my move with Trillium. In august I made the appointment for my stuff to be picked up in Regina, everything went good, the men were very nice and helpful I had to keep my stuff with them for longer than I thought, Kate was very good and helped me a lot to make the plans for the storage. Last weekend they delivered my stuff to my new condo in Toronto.  The delivery men were polite and very quick, they helped me put my bed up and they were very clean. I am really happy I picked Trilium, everyone was great to work with and I would use them again.

  8. Move to Laval, QC.

Great and honest service from Trillium Moving.  My many moves across the country and many relocation I knew what to expect more or less, and I was very happy with the result of this move.  We had moved using the big boys at a very high price and we also used smaller companies but weren't very happy.Trillium Moving was great to deal with and being that they are a family run business we were very happy with the final results and happy to support a family run Canadian Business.Kudos to Chloe and Lisa and Sarah, they were great to deal with and had ensured that I was aware and knew what was going to happen in every part of the move. The quote was the best part and the final price was around what I expected.Trillium Moving had offered us a good service and we thought that they deserved a good review.  Our move was from Chatham, ON to Laval, QC.S Lewis.

  9. Very bad company.

When we contacted this company at the phone they was sound very friendly .. but lied to us in everything !!never use this company .. they broke everything and delivered stuff after 12 days and charged very high price for poor service !! we was lied and robed by this company and now we seeking for justice to be done !! never use this company !!

  10. N/a.

Good Moving Reviews Should Include:- The overall price of the whole move (including all additional services and packing materials provided by the moving company).- Information about damaged or stolen items and the claim process.- Information about storage services if ordered.- Time line of events including time for pickup and delivery. Please Avoid:- Abusive language.- Exaggerating numbers. 11. Would not hire again..EVER.

The office staff is good, but hard to get a hold of people. The movers showed up early to pick-up which was great, the sooner they came the sooner we cleaned and were on our way. But they just threw boxes on the ground, in the truck, no care was really taken. Upon delivery, we pull up to our new place and find the movers in the neighbours garden STEALING fruits and veggies. Neighbour came out and gave them heck. Driver was just throwing our boxes out of the truck onto the ground. No care was taken. Almost all boxes were smashed/dented. Any box marked fragile seemed to have a target because they ALL had something broken, including 100 year old china. All our wall units had the bases broken somehow. One we had to throw out it was in that bad of shape. The movers also did not wear shirts, tried to sell their company (these guys must have been hired through trillium). After delivery of all items were made some of the movers disappear. Come to find out they raided the garden again. I'm sorry that is not your property. I would not recommend this comapny. We were shocked at how much our stuff weighed because we thought we were pretty close, but came in 3000 pounds more. And if we wanted a rescale it would cost us 200.00 for the labour and if it was within 200lbs we owed the 200.00 still but less than 200lbs the fee would be waived, and funny enough the movers showed up after scales were closed.

  12. Cross Canada moving.

At beginning of August my family and I moved from Regina, SK to Montreal, QC using Trillium Moving.
We went online to get quotes and out of the 3 companies we narrowed it down to Trillium always the first to return emails, phone messages and provide us with the specific information that we required to make our decision.
We got a quote for our large 3 bedroom house, we then went through a more detailed quoting system with the office, our quote was within 5% of our estimation, we are truly impressed.
We did all of our packing, except for some antique china which we let the professionals take care of.
Everything came in great shape and on time, we are really happy with our decision and would recommend Trillium to anyone moving.

  13. Move from New Brunswick to Ontario.

There were some things this company did that were good.  They agreed to pick up my shipment on short notice and they came when they said they would. I packed my own things, which was a choice they said I could make.  However when they arrived they said it wasn't packed to their liking and charged me for a huge amount of bubble wrap and packing tape.  The contract said that wrapping the furniture would be included in the price, but apparently not.  They also charged me for five wardrobe boxes.  Total packing charge was over $330 and I was not given a choice.  My furniture was late arriving.  When it came some of the totes were squashed and broken.  They blamed me for that but I looked in the truck and saw they were stacked about 10 high, no wonder they were squashed and broken.  My garden bench had the back broken and someone put it back together with tape.  The top decoration was broken off of an antique mirror.  A slit had been made in the plastic on another mirror and the broken piece stuck in there.  One of my dressers had three gouges in the front edge.  In places the plastic wrap had been torn and deep scratches in the torn areas.  It was very obvious that things had been handled in a very rough manner.  When the movers brought my furniture in the new house, they made scratches on the hardwood floor of three of the rooms.  I heard them pushing furniture across the floor so I went up to look and saw the scratches.  The floors had just been refinished before we moved in.  I would not use this company again.  I feel they see your belongings as just a cargo and don't care how rough they handle it.  I feel they were not upfront with me about extra costs.  They said on the contract that they offered a seniors discount but I had to ask three times to get it.

  14. Do Not Use This Company For Moving.

I would never ever recommend Trillium company to anyone as it is one the worst experiences I've ever had with a service company. We hired them to ship our stuffs from Ottawa to Calgary on June 24, 2013. They were supposed to deliver them until July 10 but the actual delivery happened on July 18, after many calls and follow ups. By the time of delivery we had to pay the full amount so that our items could be dropped off. However, they did not provide us with a scale weight or a receipt. Twoexpensive items were lost (Total value of $800), the delivery guys assured us they would deliver them in couple of days or so, but they haven't done so yet after almost three weeks. We were in contact with one of the customer relations manager regarding our lost items and additional charges, but she didn't seem to be caring at all. There were also additional charges that had not been issued on our initial quotation. We were supposed to get a refund for those extra charges by Tuesday Aug 6, which we did not received it. The situation seems pretty awkward to us, as they delivered the small boxes and invaluable items such as books and cooking stuffs, but those valuable items (a brand new Samsung audio system, and a bike) are missing. .

  15. Warning: do Not Use This Company to Move.

I have never had a more frustrating or expensive move, and I have moved a lot.  Most of my valuables were damaged.  I was charged an additional $700 upon delivery for an extra pick up, extra drop off and warehousing fee, none of which were true.  When I didn't want to pay the extra charge, the movers held my goods hostage.  Upon calling head office in Toronto, I was told they would refund $211 and insisted they did not know what I was talking about regarding the rest, even thought it was on the bill.
I am continuously asked to hold off on receiving my refund.  It has been a month now.  Nobody at all has contacted me regarding the damaged goods.
    DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
