  1. Horrible Experience, the worst.

This was my first cross-state move and I hired All-Pro Moving who brokered Unique to haul, store and then deliver my belongings. I won't even go into the scheduling of the delivery, which was mismanaged (they tried to come before the delivery date/before I had access to my new home) and delayed, but my things arrived damaged. Boxes were totally crushed, and upside down. Plastic bins were also crushed, which takes a lot of pressure! A good deal of my breakables were in fact broken, although I had packed them well. It was as if all the fragile boxes were put on the bottom of all the heavy items, and just crushed. A wardrobe box was crushed down to medium box size. Also, even though they wrapped my grandmother's handpainted desk, so knew what they were dealing with, they broke a leg off.

They rush you through all the paperwork and then, when it ends up costing 2K more than estimated, they say "well you signed this!" so have to pay. It's totally horrible customer service. Plus, they only insure $.60 per lb, which again, I was rushed through the paperwork so did not know to read the fine print. So if you have $1000 vase that weights 2 lbs and they crush it, they only give you $1.20. It's total insanity. If I could go back and do this over, I would rent some sort of pod, fill it myself, so that I know how it will be handled and stored. They do not care one single but about your belongings, only making money. This was already such a stressful move, total life change, and they made it 100 times more stressful and horrible. All-pro was no help. Once my delivery date came, they never called or texted me back again. They stepped out and never came to help. I hate them all.

  2. Worst Moving Company.

I would give 0 star for this company. Worst customer service and worst Moving company.. I booked through another company (Alliance Van lines) and they gave contract to this company at pick up and when My goods were delivered, some other company delivered my goods. The boxes were totally damaged. Initially I said I can pay by card only and they were okay with that but when they are delivering the goods they said they can accept cash only or else they aren’t going to deliver the goods. And at my delivery location the driver said he would charge 75$ extra for elevator which is not included in the agreement. And overall they want to charge me 300$ extra at my delivery location, with the extra HIDDEN costs. They left my goods at the entrance door and I have to carry everything on my own after paying 1800$ for the move.

Don’t go with this company, when you are booking through a company ask them whom they are going to deliver with and If they say Unique van lines just forget it. They won’t deliver your goods on a promised date. You will loose your peace of mind and Money.

  3. Makes me Sick to my Stomach.

We hired Alliance Van Lines which did NOT tell us they are subcontracting to UNIQUE Van Lines, or we would have never hired them!

I hired Alliance to take 3 shrink wrapped pallets of furniture plus a dresss, armoir and 2 night stands. Thats it and it was $1950. OK, no problem I need the stuff moved. I informed Blake at Alliance that I will have to have stuff by a certain date and I would be flying down to FL to receive the items for my new house. He said NO PROBLEM AT ALL! they give a 1-10 day max window, and I said it must be that following MON, Tues or Weds delivery. He said no problem at all, you will get then.

Anyways 2 weeks later the moving company was to be here WEDS and they call Weds and say we will be there tomorrow. So thursday at 430pm they call and say hey sorry mechanical issues with truck and wont be there til maybe tomorrow. I said okay so you are a few days late and I need to make sure you are delivering next Weds at the LATEST as I was promised. Unique Van lines said, NO WAY, we don't promise any time delivery!! WHAT??!! I freaked out and was ike are you kidding me? I was promised this delivery and you have to. Patricia from UNIQUE said that it could take a week, 2 , 3 or 4 she would have NO IDEA! I went off and said how do you expect a family to sit there move from one house to another and have NONE of their stuff for 1,2,3, or 4 weeks? And I also asked where does MY STUFF go? They informed me that they take to a storage area in COLUMBUS OH to keep there until they have enough stuff to fill truck to go back to FL. And they never know when that is.. I said I was hired by Alliance, you were NOT approved to get my items by me because if they told me UNIQUE doing then I would have said NO WAY due to the absolute worst reviews I have ever seen .. AND They asked me to pay cash. SO LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT.. you want to take all my belongings give you $1300 now and $700 more when you arrive and won't tell me exactly where MY stuff is and when it will get delivered? She said yes.. I said no way I refuse to use you and called Alliance Van lines.

Kori is who answered and could care LESS about the situation.. I informed her of what's going on and she said ok well your stuff will be delivered. I said BLAKE is the one who sold this to me and promised me and I have it on a recorded line so you can't sit there and tell me that you didn't promise. She said sorry. I said give me to a manager, she said there is NONE. EXCUSE ME?? she said you can send an email to dispatch, I want a manager I said. SHE said sorry they don't talk to people. funny how the customer service line everytime I called night or day KORI answered. I said cancel and give me the money back that I did for holding the truck. She said no! I said excuse me > she said we do not give money back when you cancel! I said I Have to cancel because you did not follow the contract that we have with the pick up for WEDS and Still 2 days later NO pick up and no way the drop off will be in time. SO I called bank and disputed charges due to NO SERVICES HELD BY THEM.

SOMEONE needs to shut these companies down that LIE and steal and break peoples items. THIS should be illegal to do this to people. WHO will do something about this>??

  4. Worst Moving co Ever.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I was contracted with another company and this company showed up to load as a 3rd party. They were unprofessional, and yet I was in a time bind so went with it. They promised a 10-day turnaround from FL to TX. Three weeks later I was calling daily to get a status on delivery. My items finally arrived. Several broken things, including a valuable 50-lb geode rock. The worst part was a missing box full of my special sentimental things that are irreplaceable. They say they could not find it, and they don’t care either way. This is the worst moving company. DO NOT USE THEM.

  5. Worst moving company.

I move every couple of years due to work. Unique Van Lines is the worst experience I have ever had. They were subcontracted by Charter Van Lines and then further subcontracted to NuLyfe Moving. Got robbed by one of their guys during move in! Filed police report. Lost my TV, electronics, and an entire box of personal items. Most of my furniture got damaged. They took no responsibility! I could never recommend moving with them! Save yourself the hassle and hire another company.

  6. My move.

Run Run as fast as you can if they pull up to your home.. Horrible would be a polite way to express my move. My contract was originally with Charter Lines, and if they call you especially a Richard hang up. These are not movers they are not even want to be movers. Charter bids your contract out apparently to the losest of low.
It Took Unique to load my apartment 7 hours. they had no tools needed to go but tools no stickers had to wait for stickers to arrive they tried to have me sign blank contracts so they could raise the price then proceeded to lose my dining room set and ruined my bedroom set along with my daughters and all I get is sorry for your inconvenience you take peoples personal belongings and life long items and ruin them. When they delivered my things it was a different truck and boys they hired of of Craig list, I even helped unload the truck. they were also unloading furniture that did not belong to me and I had them load t back up I get thanks for being honest. apparently whoever has my dining room hutch is not an honest person I kinda wonder if its not the movers take your things in lieu of short pay.. My daughters mattress had holes in it her box spring all ripped my mattress was wet and stained and the bed frame cracked..
then if Unique show up on your door step your better off moving your self.

  7. No Stars.

If I could give no stars, I would. Originally my contract was with American Roadway Van Lines who then subcontracted the move out to Unique Van Lines. It started off fine. American promised me a 3-5 business day move and so 5 business days later I called dispatch. They had no idea where my stuff was or when it would be delivered but they said they had 20 days to deliver. Called again the next day - my things were in a warehouse DESPITE being told at pick up that it was going on the truck and coming straight down.

20+ days later. I get a call from my driver telling me that my stuff will be here the next day and that he will call when he’s an hour out. He says only cash despite Unique Van Lines telling me that a postal money order is acceptable. He says that he is yet another sub contractor and that he only takes cash and that there will be additional fees day of depending on the move. I have a binding estimate with Unique for an amount on a postal money order. So I hang up and call dispatch who says that he will accept my money order.

Moving day comes around. He never calls. I call him and am put on hold for 10 minutes so I hang up and call the Unique office. The lady there can’t get in touch with him either but says he’s “nearby” and “got held up at his last job but will be on the way shortly”. I look up where she said he was and it’s 112 miles away. I still don’t have my stuff.

Don’t hire Unique Van Lines! If you originally contract with someone else and they show up just accept your lost deposit and hire someone else!

  8. Horrible company.

This company is very bad. They left thi gs at my house and still charged me for it. When I called to complain the secretary was very rude and hung up on me. They cannot tell u an estimated date for your things to arrive and it can take 1 to 21 days to get your things. They were very unprofessional and will overcharge u a couple extra thousand from your estimate. Run from the company please. I should have listened to the other reviews. Found out the hard way.

  9. Move From Hampstead, NC to Gales Ferry, CT.

It's been a year since we moved back to Connecticut and we are willing to write a review for Unique Van Lines.
    -They never arrived on time.
-They damaged 2 Flat Screen TVs out of 3
-They damaged our 110 yrs old Piano
    - Lost 2 leaves for antique table
    - Broke my husband's motorcyle
    - Broke several antiques
    - Damaged our gas grill
    - The movers never called back
    - They arrived with pick-up truck and a goose neck trailer that was painfully undersize for the contents for the household content
-And when they had to get another Rider, it was up-charged to $2000
    - Upon arrival to our to home, we discovered that the truck and trailer was unable to get to our driveway, causing another upcharge at $750
    - Dispite the fact that we told them upfront that large trailer would not be able get down the driveway
    - After the move, we contacted their home office so we could start the claim process
-It took at least a month to the claim forms involving calls and emails
-When finally submitted the claim form, they came back with $348 resolution; dispite having several thousands damage and lost items using some ridiculous value and weight formula (Read the small print)
-Realizing leagly,we were screwed and we had accept their offer
    - Four months later, we got the Declaration of Claim; we promply signed it and had it notarized and sent it back to their offices.
-Then started the parade of emails and phone call inquiries for resolution of this painful event. Everytime we'd call the person to speak to wasn't there or blatently we'd get hung up on
-After five months, they cut the check and it was on it's way
-Fourteen days, we finally got the check
    - In short, this is the least professional organization that I have ever misfortunes of doing business. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

  10. Rating of Unique Vanlines.

I secured a moving contract from American Roadway Vanlines for my move from OH to NC, and they told me that I would hear from “dispatch” on exact day and time of pick up two days ahead, and that the driver would call and confirm, as well as give us his cell number. After several calls to American Roadways they informed me that they turned over the move to Unique Moving Company. Again after several calls to Unique on both the Friday and Saturday before our move I didn’t hear from them. Then Unique Vanlines called late Saturday night that the truck would be at our house on Sunday, 11/11 between 10:00 a.m and 2:00 p.m. Never did get a call from driver. Truck never arrived until 5:15 p.m. Crew loaded our possessions quickly and efficiently. Told the driver that our first available date of unload of the 16 th. would be good. When we didn’t have a time of delivery I called Unique and was told our possessions were in storage still in Ohio. At NO time was I ever advised that our possessions would not be driven directly to our home in NC.
We were finally advised that a driver would call us, which he did, however, his timing changed 3 times and he arrived at 7:00 pm on Sunday evening. Once the crew unloaded our boxes and totes many, many of them were smashed, ripped, and broken. Very, very unsatisfied with their condition. I firmly believe the transferring from truck to storage, and storage to truck, is what caused their condition, as well as the number of totes and boxes on the dollies at one time are the cause.
There also was a discrepancy of fee and I await a refund. Had to pay half of bill at load and remainder at unload or they wouldn’t load or unload . Very unscrupulous company. I will never use either company or recommend them. One has 30 days to make a claim, and at this writing I have found several broken items, due to box/tote conditions, thus I will be making a claim for their damage and for the over charge. -1*.

  11. Do Not Use.

This company was contracted out by Coastal Movers. Do not use a subcontracted company as they use the lowest most un-reliable carriers they can find, such as Unique Vanlines
Drivers shows up 36 hours past scheduled time, no calls, just keep telling us they will contact local dispatch with no results. Driver shows up and of course the bid almost doubles, claimed they had to crate items which was an out right lie. Drivers show up to make deliver in a 30 year old drop down trailer that can't back down a normal driveway. Charge for driveway del etc.. That is not even the worst part. They showed up missing our head board to master room, vacuum cleaner, Mattress. Honesty unreal how soooo many items could be missing, but once I saw the inside of the truck it added it. NIGHTMARE!! I failed to take out insurance as the insurance was costing 1/2 the value of my items. $2000 to insure $4000 wroth of belongings. This in itself should have been the RED FLAG.. I work in the industry this is not normal. They damaged or lost over $3000 of my belongings and I received $350. I know they found most of my items, but because of they are a low cost company they would not pay someone else to redeliver my missing items. On the other hand I received a box of someone else's items and again they made no effort to collect from me and send to the rightful owners. Use a well know brand company. This was a horrible experience..

  12. Beware Beware. Really Be aware of this company. :(.

After our truck was loaded by Unique Vanlines on 8/27/18, they informed us we had more than estimated. We had to pay them additional right then otherwise they'd remove our stuff from the truck right into a the alley way (which is where the truck was being loaded). We feel this was under duress.

9/5/18 the company contacted me, saying our stuff would be loaded on a truck today but we had to pay $1000.00. I told them this wasn't correct. He said in order for it to go out on the truck I need photographic evidence of a money order. Again I told them it was incorrect. I contacted Interstate Moving Company to help get things sorted, they hired them for us. We didn't pay the additional grand on the 5th, our stuff was not loaded on their available truck.

~9/12/18 unique vanlines got in touch with me stating that the additional grand was a clerical error. That our stuff would be on the way.

If it weren't for their clerical error our stuff would have been on the way 9/5/18.

We received 3/5ths of our belongings on 9/17/18. The fella they gave the job to was only given a partial amount of our things to deliver. When we pointed out that we wouldn't send table legs and not a table top, etc and I had the paper work with the box numbers did he agree that the full amount wasn't delivered and made note of that on my forms. It was in my right not to give them the full amount due as the full amount was not there so I withheld a portion.
We paid for a full service move yet they sent one person to do this and he arrived around 11:00 p.m.

It took Interstate moving company and us continuously contacting them to finally receive the remainder of our belongings. Unique Vanlines said they sent us over half of our belongings within the 30 days that it doesn't count against them. Essentially they gave us the rest of our stuff as a courtesy. They knocked $200.00 off delivery.

The remainder (almost) came at 11:30pm 10/21/18. 2 missing boxes they cannot locate, a missing picture box containing our own art work, and wedding photos, etc. They said they were unable to recover these items.

All 5 shelves damaged, both desks gouged, end table trash-worthy, table top and entertainment center scratched up (the blankets that were once very secure on pick up were essentially falling off and some of the labels were attached to the items instead of the blanket). CD shelf punctured, and heavy duty boxes smashed due to improper stacking practices or lack of care.

This ordeal caused an extreme amount of stress to myself, my husband, and my family. They put us under duress, held our items ransom for a grand and only when that would not work they sent 3/5 of our items, a calculated amount, so they wouldn't get reprimanded for exceeding 30 days which by all accounts they did because our items should have gone out on the 5th if it were for their shiesty antics.

My husband had enough and ended up filming about it on his youtube channel.
They've put us through enough that people should know about it so they don't end up in the same situation.
    Unique Vanlines 1-866-291-0080
Interstate Moving and Relocation Group 1-866-922-5801

The representatives at Interstate Moving and relocation group were very helpful after the fact but it's hard to give them a positive review when we were mislead and they hired such an awful company.

  13. Literally the Worst Service I've ever experienced.

STOP!!: Even if your reading this as unique van lines is packing your stuff, cancel your service with unique van lines and call a different provider. Its not worth it. I got assigned unique van lines through a contractor and didn't read the reviews until it was too late, take them seriously!

I'll just explain the incompetence of unique van lines in chronological order. First the broker tried to up charge me. Then unique van lines tried to up charge me. Then they gave me a 48 hour range of when they would be picking up my stuff, and did not let me know until 24 hours before hand so I had little to no time to plan. They then tried to up charge me a third time. Unique Van lines gave me an estimate of 5-10 business days to deliver my stuff. It took unique van lines three weeks to deliver. When unique van lines did deliver, they had LOST the pieces to assemble my bed. I now have a 2,000.00 un assembled BED FRAME MISSING THE PARTS. And a company unwilling to help rectify the situation. I haven't unpacked my boxes yet but I expect much of it to be broken or stolen and will update my review as such.

You expect problems with movers but Unique Van lines is a different story. The level of incompetence exhibited was likely criminal. I honestly have to make a few calls and see if this is something I should call the police about, or at least a lawyer. Save yourself the trouble, pay a little extra somewhere else, these guys are crooks.

  14. Unique van lines / we pack.

I hired WePack who outsourced the move to UniqueVanLines for my move from Indy to Miami.

The only good thing about this was the initial phone call with the salesguy Arthur. He assured me over the phone that all my stuff was 100% insured and that any broken, missing, dented, scratched or damaged in anyway item will be paid for or replaced.

Movers came in and packed everything into boxes. They did a terrible job of making sure things were securely packed. I did noted that out but they told they were the experts and to relax. At that point I didn’t have a choice so I let it go.

When we got to Miami, scheduling the delivery of things was another mess. Initially they said they will deliver as soon as I call them, but when I finally called them to deliver they gave me a 14 day window. I guess we were supposed to spend money on a hotel or sleep on the floor till they decide to show up. Initially the driver showed up 2 days before the move in date. Of course they didn’t let them unload cause our lease hadn’t even started yet. Additionally, the building I moved into needs to be notified 24 hrs in advance before a move so you can imagine how hard this was with these people. Luckily it only took them a few days but I believe that's because I had to call then 3 times a day to try to get them to deliver the things. The people I talked to over the phone (I think her name was Maria) weren’t very nice either

So they finally deliver the stuff. While delivering they scratched the newly painted walls (see pics). They did a terrible job building the furniture (see pics) they broke some stuff while moving (See pics) and then left. I started unpacking boxes and found a bunch of stuff broken (see all pics) including a $1,000 Gibson Les Paul guitar and an Acoustic guitar which was completely smashed (See pics). A few glasses were broken, some expensive paintings were scratched, the couch was scratched, coffee table was set on its corners and all 4 corners were scratched/dented, the TV speakers were broken off the base, some lamps were also destroyed and the list goes on (see all pics).

I filed the claim form with all the damages which added up to almost $10k. They have finally replied 3 month later (only because I started emailing them daily for a reply) and they are offering me $181 for all damages. They didn’t even say sorry for the trouble, instead they are blaming me for not reading the fine print on the supposedly 100% insured claim.

Lastly, they offered 1 month of free storage between the pick up and the drop off . That was also a lie. Its only free if you get you stuff out before the first month. If you go over a month they charge you that first month.

I guess if you want to save a few dollars but go over all this trouble go for this guys.

  15. Worst Company Ever.

ITEMS HAS YET TO BE DELIVERED WITHIN THE TIME FRAME PROMISED IN THE CONTRACT SIGNED AND DATED. ITEMS WERE PICKED UP ON 5/28/18. BY FAR THE WORST COMPANY TO EVER DO BUSINESS WITH. mY GRANDMOTHER ITEMS WERE PICKED UP ON MAY 28, 2018 AND WHEN THE DRIVERS ARRIVED THEY ADVISED MY GRANDMOTHER WHO ONLY HAS BOXES AND TWO COUCHES TO BRING THAT SHE WOULD HAVE TO PAY EXTRA TO BRING HER COUCHES. SHE HAS NORMAL SIZE COUCHES A LOVE SEAT AND SOFA (NOTHING BIG). WE WERE ADVISED AS LONG AS THE WEIGHT LIMIT IS UNDER 2,000 THERE WOULD NOT BE ANY ADDITONAL FEES. WE WERE ALSO TOLD BY LONG DISTANCE DRIVERS THAT THE TAT FOR HER ITEMS TO ARRIVE IS 2 WEEKS. IT IS NOW 6/27/18 AND HER ITEMS HAVE YET TO ARRIVED. HER ITEMS IS STILL SITTING IN THE WAREHOUSE. PATRICA THE MANGER IS RUDE AND STATES THAT THE ITEMS WILL TAKE 214-21 BUSINESS DAYS FROM JUNE 20 WHEN AN EMAIL WAS SUPPOSEDLY SENT. PER THE CONTRACT THAT WAS SIGNED BY MY GRANDMOTHER ON MAY 28 WHEN THE DRIVERS ARRIVED THERE IS A DETESTATION ADDRESS LISTED AND IT ALSO STATES THAT YOUR ITEMS WILL BE DELIVER WITHIN 21 BUSINESS DAY FROM THE DATE OF PICK UP. THEY ALSO START TO CHARGE STORAGE FEES AFTER 30 DAYS OF THEM HAVING YOUR ITEMS. THE COMPANY ALSO PROMISED MY GRANDMOTHER IF HER ITEMS AREN'T HERE WITHIN 21 BUSINESS DAY FROM THE DATE OF PICKUP THEY DEDUCTION MONEY. THIS COMPANY IS A BIG FRAUD AND I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM, THEY ARE RUDE, UN KNOWLEDGEABLE, POOR COMMUNICATION AND JUST PLAIN OUT SUCK AT DOING BUSINESS.
