  1. Worst Company Ever

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE! This experience scared me! Instead of taking responsibility for their actions they bully you, insult you for speaking up, and deny everything. AAA movers have been a nightmare. I chose them because of the reviews but I was so wrong. I did not mind that they were so much more expensive than the couple of other moving companies I got quotes on. I did not mind paying for what I thought was going to be great service, so I could get my things delivered on time and safely.

Jason the man who set up the whole thing started out nice at first. He assured me that I could ask questions if I wanted to, but when I did (a few days before pick up) he sounded irritated that I was asking questions and his tone would be raised. He had to apologize at first for raising his voice at me. But that did not stop. The contract mentioned and I was also told by Jason that it would take 21 days for my belongings to be delivered from Dallas to Seattle. I got them to pick up my things on September 21st (the men who picked up my belongings were courteous, professional, and kind).

I messaged Jason when I got to Seattle and I reminded him that the next day, Oct 12th, was going to be the 21st day and I am yet to hear from the movers, I asked if I could have at least a contact number. This man responded to me in a derogatory manner, telling me I needed to read the contract (which I did) and I should not be contacting him because he is just the desk guy. He went further spelling out sentences like I was not able to read. The manner he responded to me was so unprofessional and derogatory, I was dumbfounded. I am not sure if this is how he talks to other customers, especially females. I just wanted to get at least a message from my movers just for the peace of mind. Finally, after the conversation, Jason sent me a text with the movers' number. Which was all I wanted in the first place.

October 12th I received a message from the movers saying that it will take 2-5 days for my belongings to arrive. I proceeded to make reservations at my apartment building for the loading dock. October 16th, I did not hear anything yet, and I sent a text to the movers reminding them that October 17th was the 5th day they said my belongings will be delivered, but I have not heard from them. I got no response. October 17th, 10 am, I have not heard from anyone. I called and no one answered. October 17th, an hour later I finally received a text from the driver saying, "the truck broke down. It will be fixed Monday or Tuesday. I will deliver Thursday or Friday. I will call you before I deliver. Sorry, and thank you." I replied "No problem, I will make another loading dock reservations at my apartment building for Thursday and Friday i.e. October 21st and 22nd."

October 22nd, no contact from the movers. I sent a text and got a response a couple of hours later saying, " Hi that's the movers. We will deliver your stuff tomorrow, Saturday ... or Sunday ...have our money ready. Confirm asap.” October 23rd. I reached out to the lead mover. This time he did not know I paid the extra for my belongings to be transferred to a smaller truck because he did not read the contract (my apartment will not allow a 13 wheeler). By the way, he will not answer my call and would raise his voice at me while on the phone.

My belongings finally got delivered October 23rd at 7:30 pm. I have valuable belongings missing. I have paid in full and as I let the head mover know I am missing stuff, he resorted to yelling at me saying he has to go that I should deal with Jason. He went ahead calling me an “F-ing B” saying that I was wasting his time, that he would have left my things at the storage for a month. I reached out to Jason by email informing him about my missing belongings. I was shocked at the response I received. He screenshot my review on here while responding. I am attaching the email response I received. I paid a lot of money for this move and this has been a nightmare experience. I am shocked at the amount of unprofessionalism.

  2. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

I was nervous using movers for the first time. This team of guys were professional, fast, efficient, and friendly. The price was right as well. I honestly don t have a single complaint about them. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

  3. Very poor delivery experience

The delivery drivers insisted that we had no choice but to accept delivery at 3 AM. (They actually showed up at 3:45). When we asked them if they could postpone it until 7 am, they said no, because they had another delivery in the morning (which turned out to be a lie). When the drivers showed up they then insisted we pay extra for elevator use and made up an overage fee of $125 per 100 ft (delivery more than 100 ft from the truck). We had to pay before they would begin to unload the truck in cash. We pulled up the contract online when they were outside which said there was NO FEE for elevators and $75 for each 100 ft over 100 ft (free). When we showed the drivers our contract, the drivers then called their manager (whom we assumed was with AAA Moving and Storage) who then insisted we send them a picture of our original contract to prove what we were claiming before he would authorize them to return our money. Eventually, our money was returned. Then, the drivers went to task assembling our furniture WITHOUT ANY TOOLS. This included a large bed frame and table. We had to dismantle and reassemble them correctly. When AAA Moving and Storage was asked to compensate us for this breach of contract and all these issues, they refused to even communicate. We tried emailing, texting and calling. We were not rude in any of our communication. The only communication we got was a $25 insurance claim offer for the table the drivers broke while trying to assemble it without addressing the other issues. The contact at AAA did confirm that other clients also complained that the drivers did not have any tools. The contact at AAA said it was our fault to receive the delivery before 4 am! Even though we asked repeatedly if it could be later and were told no. I will say that the initial communication with the salesperson was satisfactory, but the follow-up was not. I would definitely NOT recommend this company.

  4. Dependable movers, no surprises, did the job as expected.

Highly recommended AAA moving & Storage. No issues, great pricing, showed up on time, exceeded our expectations, no damages. All the most important things to us right there. We will definitely use them again.

  5. Not a good move.

We moved from Dallas area to Florida. They were nice when giving the estimate but receiving goods took awhile because it was never explained how our items were shipped. A random trucker is used and he waited around to fill his load. Then he insisted on money order which we were never told and it was Sunday. We had used a credit card for down payment. This of course delayed our goods. This was our 13th move and we have never been treated like this. Very unprofessional. We tried to use their insurance for items broken. The insurance broker they use awarded us for damages a very small amount and the company is to issue the payment. Almost a year later have not seen it. Insurance was worthless. Would not recommend this company!

  6. Have not received stuff.

My daughter moved from iowa to Nc 3 months ago and still has not received all of her stuff. 30 days is what they said but took over 45 days and then over half her stuff is still missing and we have other peoples stuff. they are still giving her the run around and not saying when ut will be here. I highly recommend to never use AAA is trying but the company they are using is not giving any updates at all.

  13. Moved from Oklahoma to California.

If I could give them a negative 5 stars, that's what I would give them. Do not use this company. They charge over what the initial contract states because of fine wording that the customer does not understand. Then do not deliver your belongings on time and hold your belongings until you pay them the unknown extra amount they charge. Belongings are broken an missing. And trust me, after the initial contract and paying the down payment, you cannot get a hold of original person you made the deal with.

  14. Worse Moving Experience.

A word of warning to folks that are deciding to move. Please do your research thoroughly and consider the ratings and reviews from other users. This was a complete nightmare. You truly get what you pay for.

My experience with this moving company is not something I would wish on my worst enemy. None of my boxes were missing or damaged, but my furniture was another story. However, the movers were exceptionally nice, but that's because they are a third party contractor and do not work for AAA Moving & Storage.

The reinforced steel frame and both my meals were morbidly bent, leaving my tv stand to slant at an angle. I paid to have my luxury plush cashmere mattress placed in a box. I was charged $63 along with the ridiculous 3% credit card fee and of course tax. It came in a half plastic wrap, was soiled and ruined as seen in the photo. When I had to repeated ask them to reimburse me, which took three weeks later, I was told only $63 would be reimbursed and not the credit or tax fee, as this came from my original deposit. However, this was not part of the original deposit. It was tacked on when the movers arrived to my apartment. This is an unfair and unethical practice.

Lastly, my bed arrived with the frame with the exception of the center support beam, the wooden slates and missing screws. I now have a useless Queen Size frame, until I can find a carpenter to replace the missing materials.

I placed a claim with CSI, the mediator for the moving company and of course they denied my claim for the bed, as they could not find or justify the weight, even though I had included in the link and pictures from the furniture company.

Overall, I had to replace my mattress, bed frame and tv stand for $5,000. Had I know, I would've taken the offer with Allied Movers a reputable company.

Please don't fall for their gimmick of ratings from HomeAdvisor, Angie's List or BBB. If you read through the complaints, you will see none of their pass issues were resolved.

They are not a moving company. They are a company that contracts out to third party movers that are not reputable. So after they have your contract and money, they do not care what happens to your belongings.

I'm sure they will respond to this post with a rebuttal as they have on every negative review.

  15. Interstate Moving Experience with AAA.

I hired AAA for a moved from Dallas to Miami. The salesperson, Jason, was always very courteous and responsive (more on that in a bit). I was moving to my new apt. complex in Miami on 3/1. They picked up my stuff on 2/21, a full week before my moving date because Jason told me the earlier they picked up my stuff the higher the likelihood it would get there by 3/1.
Long story short, my stuff got here on 3/12 (-1 one star), which I can someone understand, but in the meantime, they were very unresponsive. I was the one that was always calling to check in and Jason blocked my phone number.
None of my stuff was damaged/broken, so I applaud them for that, but my other problem was that they promised to assemble my furniture once they got here, which they did not. The movers claimed it was because they had to carry the stuff further than originally agreed (which was true) but I offered to move it myself to my apartment so they could assemble it, but still they refused.
I think these guys are brokers (not movers themselves) who work with other companies to get shipments moved across the country, rather than doing it themselves.
I ended up paying $1245 instead of the $999 quoted. They said it was because I went over my cubic feet allocation, but they never actually measured it (all items listed on the quote were the ones I sent).
This was my first time moving so I probably had some unrealistic expectations, but I still believe this company can do a much, much better job. AAA's quote was also the cheapest one I got, so there's also that.
Moving forward I'll probably just rent a Uhaul if/when I move again. It might be more physical work, but that's preferable over the stress of not knowing where your stuff is/when you're going to get it.
