  1. Amazing Sales Pitch, Poor Move

We were assured that they had great experience with local moves and protecting fragile items. They may have had plenty of local experience but we experienced over $4,000 worth of damage, some of it to irreplaceable items. Of course they explain that their max liability is $0.60 per pound, which for us added up to $603 in compensation. Beware! Don't choose this company unless you have great outside moving insurance! Submitting a claim was very difficult as they require photos for everything and claim that they didn't receive your photos. I had to send my claim four times before finally getting traction. Our military moves had less damage than this company!

  2. Late delivery and no reimbursement

We did an out of state move and All My Sons agreed to accommodate us as they usually do in-state moves. The delivery was late by a week, which had to do with their contractors. We understand things happen, however they refused to reimburse us for our trouble because it was “not guaranteed” on the contract. While we understand it was not a guaranteed delivery date, it was the reasonable day we expected our belongings to arrive, and were quoted so verbally. It would have been appropriate to reimburse us for every business day past the expected date of delivery. Their reasoning for no reimbursement was that it was not outside the legal days they had to deliver, which in my opinion is the minimum standard and has no bearing on customer satisfaction and service. They did a nice job of moving our stuff out and do appreciate what they did to get our stuff to us eventually, but overall we were not satisfied with their lack of accommodation with the delivery being late.

  3. Worst moving company ever

The movers negligently damaged over $12,000 worth of my furniture. They offered me only $100 in compensation. The men who moved my furniture smelled of Marijuana and acted as if they had never moved a home before. Now I have to take them to court because they will not act responsibly to address the damages. My furniture is so damaged I cannot display it in my home.

  4. ***BEWARE PREDATORS***

    ***BEWARE** Predatory Practices..

This is a shady Company. They will hire inexperienced movers that will drop, break and damage your belongings. As soon as you complain about it, they will demand payment before the unload is done and before the job is done. If you tell them that you will pay them when the job is done, they will stop unloading you belongings and close their truck and attempt to leave with your belongings ( in other words, they will hold your stuff until you pay them without any reason to believe that you are NOT going to pay them). This is not business, These are mob tactics and extortion..

  5. Horrible Moving Experience

This was by far my worst moving experience. I am a 37 year military veteran with over 15 moving experiences. I hire AMS movers because they were recommend to move valuables and antiques. To my surprise, I experienced broken German crystal and an antique grandfather clock purchased in Black Forrest Germany. The movers attempted to hand carry my antique clock down my stairs and into a truck (against my voiced concern).

It was raining and one of the movers dropped my clock completing breaking off the base. When I voice frustration with the damage and their not listening, the lead mover stated, "Its no big deal. You just need to wood glue it."

When I called his supervisor to report the incident and my dissatisfaction, he too acted like it was no big deal. When I requested new movers, he stated that he could just end the job period. I was told that AMS's claim department would contact me. However, I had to reach out to them after waiting over a week. Their response was just as bad. I was told to complete the claim form and my clock would be properly restored. But, when the settlement returned AMS movers wanted to accept $150.00 and sign a nondisclosure agreement. I refused and told them that the offer was absolutely insulting. I requested that they send out a 3rd party repair person to completely assess the damage and provide an complete estimate. That was over a week ago and I have not heard anything from AMS movers. Again, this is the most unprofessional and questionably skilled move I have ever experienced. Besides breaking my property, the moving time charge me for time spent taking breaks, talking with a spouse on the phone and complaining about having to work. I am still waiting for AMS movers to act in good faith.

  6. Terrible movers

I wish I could give this company ZERO stars. What a mistake it was to choose them to move my things. I was simply moving from a 2 room house to storage. As I left to go get cash at an ATM across the street, came back 10 minutes later, and they were "done" emptying the truck to the storage unit. 10 minutes to chunk all of my belongings into a HUGE space with zero care. They filled the unit and left no space to even get anything out without emptying the whole thing. It's a friggin MESS. Do yourself a favor and DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. And if you end up doing it and have "Sean and Sean" as your movers, good luck, they are the WORST of the WORST.

I've tried to get them to acknowledge the fact that this happened and send 2 people out to help move things around and they haven't even called me back. This company is horrible. Look elsewhere.

  7. They stole from me

They stole from me. I've moved 5 times and this is by far the worst moving company I've ever dealt with. I had a 5-mile move on the west side of Cleveland. AllMySons "lost" an expensive statue head that I purchased on a trip to Asia years ago. The thing is 50lbs, made of stone, and 3-feet high. It's very unique and not something you forget. Somehow they "lost" it in the 5-mile drive from one place to the other. When I went through the claims process with their "insurance" they offered me $75 total since their coverage is $0.60/lb no matter what the object is. The whole thing is ridiculous. They definitely stole this statue as there's no way they could have lost it and then they want to compensate me near nothing. The statue head they stole cost more than my entire move. Will try to pursue legal action against this company for their theft.

  8. Worst Customer Service

Showed up late, broken items, missing items, quoted one price and charged more, had to pay for and rent another truck due to their stupidity. Worst moving experience ever. will ever recommend to anyone. What should have been a two hour job , turned into nine.

  9. Left me in learch kept deposit

Stay away from the scammers book to move with them they left halfway through because there was a broken glass they left me standing there they said I would receive my deposit back I have now called four times and have not received it back if they need my small deposit so badly they can keep it I will continue to tell anyone I cannot do use these crooks I rebooked the move with the good Greek they were perfect old gentleman great company would use them anytime

  10. Hostage negotiations and move abandonment

RUN from this company if you get a quote. The quote will double or triple, and if you downsize your move to compensate, they will abandon the move and keep your deposit. For me, they cited COVID concerns, even though their movers asked to not wear masks when they arrived. And once they leave you high and dry, they will keep your deposit, citing cancellation policies never previously mentioned (and even though YOU didn't cancel, and even though YOU never signed anything).

I went with a different company after All My Sons abandoned stranded me, one that did not require a deposit, one that moved everything in an hour and half and for less than the original quote from AMS.

AMS has made it clear I will never get my deposit back, even though they are the ones who abandoned my move for obviously false reasons.

And looking around at Yelp, Consumer Reports and the BBB, this is a trend with them.

  11. Unanswered dissatisfaction

This is a letter I wrote to the company and never as much received a confirmation they received it.

I can not begin to tell you how disappointed, frustrated, and unhappy I am with how my move was handled and its cost. I am going to list all of the things that I believe went wrong and I intend to post this same letter on any website that accepts reviews of moving companies, and to the BBB.

1 - Never ever would I have paid almost $3K to move from my apartment in Tucker to my house in Hampton. My original quote over the phone was for $1200, which I knew was unreasonable because I knew packing the truck would take longer than usual. I estimated about 7 hours. The quote was given to me via phone without someone actually looking at my apartment. I was given a quote from another company who did come out, look at my things, averaged out the materials I would need and the time it would take and gave me a worst-case-scenario amount of less than $2K.

2 - The move took 14 hours. They arrived at 0930, looked at contents of apartment, went outside to discuss things, returned to the apartment and began wrapping and loading. They emptied the truck of all my possessions at 2300. At this time they still were not done. They left 80% of the boxes in one room without distributing them to the rooms labeled on the box tops. They left furniture still wrapped in shrink wrap. They did not assemble my bed completely as that night I got into it, the roller on the leg bent off leaving the top right side of the bed tilted. I paid you to move me. If I had not helped in packing and unpacking the time would’ve been longer, in fact should’ve been longer to complete the job. I shouldn’t have had to assist, especially at my age.

3 - I have moved 4 times in the past 4 years and have never witnessed such excessive wrapping. The amount of tape and shrink wrap and boxes used were far greater than I have ever seen any other company use. This took an excruciatingly long time. There was one person wrapping while one mover was taking boxes and wrapped furniture to the truck and the third mover was stacking the truck.

4 - The furniture wrapper turned my furniture upside down to wrap it. I had never seen this done before either. My drawers in different pieces of furniture always remained full, never spilled, and were wrapped and delivered right side up. This time the drawers had to be emptied so that the furniture could be flipped around to be wrapped. This took extra time.

5 - We did not leave the apartment until 1800-ish. For 9 hours I had no place to sit and rest. It was explained that I had to remain with the movers the entire time. For a woman my age to stand that long is unacceptable. And again, I had to assist in the packing and wrapping to expedite the process. (It could be construed that I should be compensated for my time and labor)

6 - Upon the truck arrival and unloading of boxes I noticed that I was missing some food. Several cans of pop and several cookies, that I know of. Not that this is unreasonable, but taking them without my consent does present a problem. I still am unable to find some of my things, but then again I haven’t gotten to the bottom of every box yet.

7 - One of the movers steadily became more and more ill during the day due to an allergy beyond his control. He was not performing at his top level of capability. It finally came to the point where he had to leave due to his medical condition and find medical help. This is totally understandable and unavoidable. This left only 2 people working to empty my apartment. I did mention to the office staff when I was getting a quote for my move that I did have cats. This information did not get passed on to the movers. Communication somehow broke down. Finally a third person showed up to help. During my observation this new mover did very little work compared to the one mover who was moving the furniture and packing the truck by himself.

8 - When I first spoke to the office people about my move I mentioned that my dining room set is antique and very precious to me. I wanted nothing to happen to it. When the movers arrived and were touring the apartment I told them about the dining set. I told them several more times about being extra careful with it. I am attaching pictures of the damage to my furniture. I am also sharing a picture of the dent made in the hall wall and my bed leg.

  12. Do Not Use This Company.

I had a move booked with this company and called to confirm my time I spoke with James. He is one of the most unprofessional people I have ever dealt with. He did not listen to my questions and interrupted me multiple times. I spoke with Tanya who was incredibly helpful and kind both James and Tanya told me I would be in the afternoon slot. When I received the confirmation call a few days before my move I was told I was the morning slot. I let them know I had an elevator reservation and was told an afternoon time slot. I booked with another company who was much more professional. I called back to cancel and James told me that he was told the day before that I was cancelling. His delivery was beyond rude and he wouldn't let me speak. I hung up when he raised his voice. I never once said I was cancelling. I believe that they offered me the wrong time slot so I would cancel. Safe yourself the headache and don't go with All My Sons!

  13. A sham! Will not honor price quote!

I was quoted a flat fee of $169 for a local move that took a total of 1 hour and 15 minutes to move 1 piece of exercise equipment from one house to mine that was a 6-mile drive in total. A representative at the All My Sons Call Center quoted me "$169 All In". I got 2 other quotes, 1 from a local chapel hill company that asked for $275, and then 2 Men and A Truck quoted me $425. Obviously, I went with the lowest price since it was a simple local move with only 1 piece of equipment and only a 6-mile drive. The crew did a fine job moving the equipment, but the company charged me $400! I spoke to several people at the local Raleigh, NC office and they both told me they would not honor the $169 because the young lady at the call center "obviously misquoted you", and "we can't honor that price". I agreed to compromise and pay $300 in total. They had already taken a $100 deposit a few days earlier. I agreed to pay $200 more for a total of $300, even though I was quoted $169 all in. The gentleman who took my card information said, "OK, you're approved, we're all set" - remember I approved an additional $200. Today I check my bank statement and the gentleman had actually charged my card $300!! I have been bounced around from the Raleigh office to the home office in Texas and still, no one is willing to honor the $169 or even refund me the extra $100 that the gentleman charged me yesterday. The company should have honored the $169 that the young lady offered when I first started the process of getting quotes, but I was willing to compromise and pay $300. They charged me $400 without my agreement! I was sold a bad bill of goods! Feels like a total and complete sham! They have 1 person quote you $169 then they tell you days later that she misquoted you and they can't honor that. She is an employee of All My Sons and they should honor that. I will never use this company ever again and I will ensure that every person I know understands that it is running a total sham!

  14. Don’t Recommend.

I have paid for movers every time I moved. I moved all around the country and this will be my first bad review. I have many damaged items. My things sat in their truck unprotected. They damaged doorways into the house. They well underestimated the time it would take. On the first day they disappeared for hours. I was charged over 7 hours for a 2 bedroom condo. When they said it would take 2 1/2 hours.

On the next day, they delivered everything but one item. I reached out right away and followed up a few weeks later. Now a month later no response. So you can add stealing to the list of reasons why not to

    Use this company.

To top it all off, on their way out they dumped their lunch trash and packing supplies on my driveway.

Don’t bother writing a claim. They will never get back to you. So, do yourself a favor and just don’t use them.

  15. Extortion and Damage.

All My Sons Moving of Pensacola, FL loaded and arrived at a new location and then extorted more money for the move before unloading my furniture. They dropped my dryer and now refuse to pay for the repair, which is under $200.00. They are criminals taking advantage of people. WARNING do not trust or hire them.
