  1. Ask for Cody and Mike.

They make a great team! Awesome service and great care for your belongings. I would recommend them to anyone. 5 stars for Cody and Mike.

  2. Very unprofessional.

Ok first let me say..my actual movers were great. Very friendly. Professional. And fast. HOWEVER, this company seriously screwed with my money. When I booked my move.. I was required to put down a $100 deposit that I was told would go towards my final balance. No problem. Right? Well at the end of my move, there was no recollection of my deposit. My movers called their manager while at my house to check to see if they showed the deposit. I personally heard the manager state he would check and give me a call. Well guess what? I never got a call. The next morning, Saturday, I check my account. Bam!! I was charged the full amount for the move. I call and speak with Heath, explained the situation. He acted as if I was lying. Asking me "Am I sure I paid a $100 deposit?" Excuse me? I had to literally explain to him that I am staring at my bank account as he speak. Well he calls the "home office", and what do you know..he finds my deposit. Great! Just give me back $100 and we're all great. Oh no. Too easy. It gets better. Apparently while trying to refund me the $100 I was overcharged..he accidentally charged me another $100!! Great. So here it is. In the middle of a move, and I'm out of $200. He said that he would refund $200 and I should see it in my account "shortly". News flash!! It's Saturday!! So no, I'll see it Monday at the earliest, which means I'm just out of $200 that I really needed to help with moving expenses. Well here it is. Monday. Check my account. Do you think I saw the $200 refund I was due?? Of course not. There is 1 deposit refund..for $100. I'm fed up. My recommendation. Stay away unless you have lots of time and money laying around to waste with these people. News flash. If a customer is telling you they paid a deposit, before you charge their card, as a business, you check every system you may have UPFRONT!!

  3. Really rude moving company-TERRIBLE COMPANY and dispatch manager.

This was the worst experience in moves I've had yet. They were 3 hrs late. The dispatch manager Heath was extremely rude over phone. On delivery, they put two holes in our walls, broke a light fixture, and left a large black mark on our wooden floors. Their response at the end was that the holes in the walls fall under "unusual circumstances" and will not be covered. They did not cover the dresser while moving it causing one of the walls. If you could literally go with any other moving company in the area, I would. I wish I had read these reviews before.

  4. Late and Slow.

Worse move I have ever experienced. I should have listened to the reviews on this site.

90 minutes late starting and then the local move took 10 hours with 3 guys (3 bdr house; 15 miles away). Started off great, but two hours in, they switched out a crew member with someone's first day on job, who showed no initiative. They didn't get everything on the truck so I had to make an additional 8 trips with three different sized vehicles (including one pick up truck) the next day.

The company credited back $160 (the difference between 3 guys vs 2 guys). While that was appreciated, it doesn't make up for the time lost. Since then, I've discovered my light colored sofa and loveseat cushions weren't wrapped and have black scuff marks on them and they broke the switch on my standing lamp (not repairable). It's five days after the move and I'm still aggravated.

  5. Fox Movers.

We just used Fox Movers David and Mickey to move our household goods from Marietta Ga to Chattanooga TN. We greatly appreciate the work of their 2 people, David and Mickey. Great Job--extremely satisfied with all their work. On time and on budget. I will use them again for any move in and around Northern Georgia or South East Tennessee.

A job well done and thanks.

  6. Do Not Hire.

Worst experience I've ever had with a service company.. DO NOT USE ** NO SHOW** HEITH was the most unorganized unprofessional person to deal with.. DO NOT USE FOX MOVING COMPANY.
Had them booked on a Thursday Evening with all my belongings already boxed up and ready to be lifted out.. They never showed up.. Heith said "the crew will be there in 30 minutes to a couple of hours" well, we waited and waited, called and called (voicemail is all we got) until 11:30 p.m. and so we decided to call the next morning starting around 8:00. Heith never apologized for the NO SHOW the night before nor did he put us down for a 1st appointment for Friday.. He said " I will do my best to get a crew there asap.." So, around noon guess what?.. Our power was disconnected because we were scheduled to be moved by Thursday and we told the power company to disconnect on that date. Heith calls, with more excuses instead of solutions to our mishap.., and says a crew will be there between 2 to 3 p.m. So i'm not happy at this point but i'm thinking at least I will get moved today. So at 7:30 p.m. The crew finally gets there and it's almost dark and we are in a 4 BR home that is very dark inside. We hired 3 men and only 2 showed up that said " we've been going since 4:30 a.m. and we just going to break stuff and be slow because we are tired.. So, i'm like WTH??!! I'm furious at this moment.. So I had to do the old college day thing and ask buddies to come help and rented a U-Haul ..
Fox Moving did not even call the next day to follow up nor apologize for there NEGLECT as a company.. So, do no use these guys.

  7. Great Experience.

We called Fox Moving last minute to have them move us out of our apartment and they worked us in. Jonah and Johnny were great guys and really helped us out. They did a fantastic job. We left a room full of furniture planning to move it ourselves on a different date, but were so happy with our service that we called back and had someone move the rest today. This time David and Mickey were the movers and they were also excellent to work with and did a really good job. I would recommend any of these guys to help you move. I will also most certainly call them in the future if we move again.

  8. Do Not Hire this company!

The move was scheduled for February 21. The woman who set up the move from the Nashville office sent several emails to me detailing the move, with a mistake every time. However, she swore that she had all of the information correct with her. The warehouse supervisor in Chattanooga called Friday, February 20th, and said it was possible, that due to the wintry weather for the next day, there was a chance that they wouldn’t be able to help move. He said he would call the next day to let us know. The supervisor called back in the morning and said he lived on Lookout Mountain and couldn’t get drive down, due to weather, to distribute the keys to his workers for the trucks to help us move. He called later in the day, around 2 pm, and said that he couldn’t find anyone who wanted to work for our move that day. He then said his workers would definitely be there the next morning, Sunday, February 22 at 8 am to help us move. They arrived around 8 am, and didn’t start working until 8:15 because of all the paperwork that had to be signed. They also tried to mark on the paperwork that they started moving at 8 am, which was not true. The workers said that moving our piano would be an extra $50, which was not lined out in the contract. As the two men started to move items, one of the men was adding on information to the already written contract, asking us to initial by “written in” statements about the “already made” marks on furniture in the house. He said that they were not responsible for any “already marked” furniture after it was moved. We asked how we are supposed to know the difference between what was already there and what they have damaged. The worker responded by saying there wouldn’t be any damage from them, so it was never understood why they were asking us to initial to “already marked” furniture. We said we would just take pictures of all the furniture to designate the difference between “already marked” and damage from them. The worker said we couldn’t take pictures. As this continued, the worker’s demeanor became disrespectful. We then called the supervisor and asked him why we were being asked to initial by “written in” statements not already included in the contract as well as relay information concerning the worker’s demeanor. He also said that we were allowed to take pictures, even though the worker said no. The supervisor called his worker, had a discussion with him, and 10 minutes later, the workers started moving everything back in, saying they were quitting and not finishing our move. I attempted to call back the supervisor, twice, and he never answered. I was forced to leave a voice mail and have never heard back from the company. After we had to rent a uhaul and move everything ourselves and pay friends to help us, we found out from others that this company is prone to walking off jobs and has damaged furniture from other moves. If you can afford it, hire a good moving company. If you don't have the money, hire friends and a uhaul.

  9. Don't waste your time with Fox.

I called Fox on the positive review of a friend who had used them. I spoke with Troy about a move from Chattanooga to Memphis and we set an appointment on a Saturday to do a walk through to get an estimate. No show, no call. I called twice at the time of the appointment and then again 2 hours later. Both times I was put through to someone's vovoice mail but never received a call back. If they don't show for an estimate they probably won't show for the move. Adios, Fox.

  10. Horrible company!

We used them to move a 2 bedroom apartment to another apartment IN THE SAME COMPLEX. Had everything boxed up and put in one room, minus our furniture. While I take a small amount of sympathy as they had to take stuff up two flights of stairs.. it should not have taken as much time as it did. I also made sure they knew they would be doing it when I booked them. The first problem we encountered was that we scheduled them to arrive on Saturday. They called that morning first using an excuse that their truck was having issues and they were out in Knoxville. They assured me they were coming and they would be late. Fast forward a couple hours. They call again. Family emergency with the driver and they can no longer make the appointment. Contact the customer service number and they say they will have someone out the next morning by 8am. Next morning rolls around and they are about 15 minutes early. Okay, great! Thinking maybe it would motivate them and get things going quicker, gave both of them a $20 tip ahead of time. Bought them a small breakfast and they were steadily moving boxes to the truck. About an hour and a half in, only about half our boxes were moved. We started moving a few things ourselves. Let me spare you the rest by summing it up..we moved some things up the stairs (with a newborn and a 5 year old) and in total it took 8 HOURS to move. 2 bedroom apartment to another apartment IN THE SAME COMPLEX.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND FIND ANOTHER MOVING COMPANY! Unless you don't mind wasting an ENTIRE DAY moving and 800 dollars.
In total it cost us close to 850 with tax and the tips.

  11. No job too small!

I hired Fox Moving of Chattanooga to move an entire bedroom suite from one end of town to the other. This was a craigslist find. It was a job that I thought would take 2-3hrs with two men. My wife called to get quotes, Fox was about the only one to give a quote and how their pricing actually worked. So I figured we might as well give them a shot. The two guys showed up on the day scheduled, a Sunday btw. They were within the time frame and apologetic for not being there earlier, but it wasn't a big deal. I could actually tell that they had been working hard earlier that day. They jumped right into getting the furniture taped and loaded into the truck. Long story short, they waisted no time and very safely moved the furniture in under 2 hours. I was thoroughly impressed with their quickness which translates into money saved.

  12. Fox Moving and Storage-Knoxville/Nashville.

I contracted with Fox Moving and Storage on 3-9-12 to move and store my household furniture which was located at my home.  I was assured at that time that my furniture would be placed in vaults or pods securely containing only my furniture. I paid an initial amount of $850.00 and a monthly storage fee of $200.00 for nearly 2 years. On 2/3/14, upon my instructions, they re-delivered my furniture to the same address and were also to pick up and deliver the contents of 2 small storage units (10'x15' and 5'x10') located a mile or so from my house.   Somehow, they lost or misplaced the 48 " round top to an oak kitchen table, a 2'x 3' oak end table, and a 48 "black television table with glass doors. Also, a number of items are damaged, including an oak pie safe, an Ethan Allen bedside table, a leather sofa and an oak bentwood kitchen chair. During the course of the delivery I had the supervisor (John McGrath) note the missing items and take pictures of the damaged items.   At the time, the supervisor stated that the missing items were probably "overflow" and were most likely stored in a separate pod. He instructed me to call Brian Michael (his boss) the next day and let him know the situation. I did so and Brian said he would look into it. He failed to call me back and would not return phone calls. On the 5th I called Amy Cragg (the Knoxville Manager and VP)  and she told me she would look into it and call me back by the end of the day..she failed to do so. On the 6th I finally reached Amy and was told they were still looking for my items. I then called John and asked that he look for the items; he promised to do so the next morning, but I never heard from him either. As of the today, I have heard nothing further from anyone at Fox Moving in Knoxville. My impression is that no one in the Knoxville operation really cares about this.   Further, the total charge of $2215. is exorbitant. Four men and 2 trucks did not show up until well after 1:00 PM on the 3rd, yet I was charged from 9:00 AM at the 4 man 2 truck rate of $178.00 per hour. There were indeed two trucks, but one arrived empty. Two of the men including the supervisor immediately left the site in the empty truck to pick up the contents of the storage units and left 2 men to unload the truck containing the furniture. Of those two, one spent his time complaining about his pay, mending his pants and talking on his cell phone. The other two returned over 4 hours later and had not emptied the storage units completely. After assisting with unloading the furniture, all four returned to the storage units, but came back without completing the job, saying that they had to go to another job. I had to finish emptying the storage units myself.     On 2/10/14, I spoke with Brittany in the Nashville office who was going to speak with the Knoxville office and get back to me regarding the lost and damaged furniture and the excessive charges. The only thing she did was send me a claim form, which I sent back to her on the 11th by Priority Mail. Thus far no one has responded. They have lost well over $2000. worth of furniture and caused several hundred dollars in damage. Nobody in this organization  seems to accept responsibility for anything.   On March 1st I received a settlement offer of $462.00 for the loss and damage but nothing was mentioned about the overcharges. The $462. Is based upon an estimated weight of the lost and damaged items, which are valued at over $3000.  I have rejected that offer.    It is worth noting that the Knoxville Better Business Bureau has 24 complaints about this company. There are also 26 complaints against the Nashville (HQ) office.  I am not sure what the relationship is between Knoxville, Nashville and Chattanooge but the common thread seems to be that Nashville is the main office that handles claims.  .

  13. Worst experience ever!

In 2010 I had moved from Nashville, TN to Chattanooga, TN, and needed a moving company to move and store my belongings, as I had not yet found a place to live, other than with a friend.  Long story short, four years later is when I was able to get back on my feet to be able to get my belongings out of storage.  I was assured Fox Moving and Storage provided climate controlled storage and would never have to worry about any damages.  This was such a LIE !  I was paying $130.00 a month for my belongings to be in a wooden crate (that was falling apart) in a large metal building that had absolutely no heat or air, and was told " in the summer we run fans, but the cold of the winter doesn't hurt things".  So, for four years and a total amount of nearly $6,000.00, my things were freezing and sweating.  Not only that, but, they lost some of my furnishings because at one point they had moved from one building to another, and had to uncrate everyone's things, move it, and then recrate it.  So, when I got my things out of storage and discovered missing items, I went back to their facility and was told there was no way my things could have got mixed in with someone else's.  LIE!!  How would you then explain how I found things in my stuff that didn't belong to me?  They lost the wooden side rails to my very expensive bed, lost, more likely broke, the glass top to my coffee table (it was a very large piece of glass), damaged the heck out of my furniture, lost the canister of my vacuum cleaner, broke many of my decorative items and I was devastated.  And still am!  They told me they would replace the missing items and fix my furniture, because they were all trained in wood repair, and that was a joke, too!  The side rails they replaced - about a foot too long for my queen size bed and they are the wrong color and don't fit properly in the slots so my bed is also about a foot too high - I literally have to jump into my bed, and to fix the wood, they brought out colored markers to hide the gouges, and the replacement glass to my coffee table doesn't match the end tables.  I told Heath that I wasn't happy and he said they would fix it, but nothing yet!  I contacted the Better Business Bureau for assitance in getting things fixed properly and to recoup part of my money, since I was paying for "climate controlled" and wasn't getting what I paid for, but they have ignored the complaint.  They will not answer my phone calls nor return the calls when I leave a message.  I am contacting my attorney today!  .

  14. Fraudulent, Deceptive, Dishonest.

Do not use this company!  Check the BBB first, we did not and it cost us. In addition to damaging your home and your goods, they will not honor their agreement, they will charge you additional fees before unloading all of your goods, and if you refuse to pay - they will just threaten to keep your property.
     .

  15. Do Not Use This Company!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!   They are a nightmare to deal with from start to finish!   They were the least expensive so I gave them a try.  When the moving team showed up to load the truck they were unprofessional from the start. The loading of the truck was herrendous and they actually broke or scratched everything they moved.   If you use this company get ready to replace everything you let them move.   When I contacted them to have them fix, repair, or replace what they hed damaged I got little response and they wanted me to settle for $500.   Again please DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
