Gouffon Moving.
The two movers did a great job of moving extremely heavy furniture pieces. They were competent, timely, and cordial.
Gouffon move May16-17.
We had a very poor experience with Gouffon. With the initial phone conversation they provided an estimate of $2,700. They said upon review it could increase as much as $500 or so. The problems started with their onsite review of our home and storage. They had “software” problems and did not get back to us. They sent someone else out review our home 2(!) days before our move. They called the next day and said it would be $4,300. We were not pleased and after several phone conversations they lowered it to $4,000. They said we had many more items than we said and that was the reason for the substantial increase. We told them you have us over a barrel. What are we supposed to do 2 days before our move. They said the move was so large it would take 3 trucks and 6 men. On the day of the move they showed up with 2 trucks and 5 men. The men were very good at loading. They eventually traded a full truck for an empty one when “they found another driver”. At the end of the day, the third truck was only half full. Unloading the next day was a disaster we are still paying for. They sent only 4 men that could unload. One worker could only drive. Late in the afternoon, they sent 2 more workers. By then it had begun to rain and many of our items got wet. Despite the boxes/items being marked with the rooms to go into, many boxes/items were put in incorrect areas. The attic and our storage areas were not utilized properly and they said “we were running out of room”. I personally restocked one of our storage areas and created more room for them. The attic space was about half utilized. We learned their supervisor came on site that day, but he did not have the courtesy to speak to us. I can see why, we only spent $4000 with them. All in all a very poor experience. Their movers are very good at loading but seemed to be in too big a hurry to get finished to do a good job unloading. Pricing process was like being put in handcuffs. I would never use them again.
Moving experience.
We just moved last week from an apartment to a house. The moving started late due to truck problems. (Seems to be a consistent problem for them) Moving team at my apartment had nothing to do, once they prepped our furniture. While I had communicated that we had a storage facility to be moved and the new home had a steep hill no one communicated this to the team. I had been assured someone would evaluate moving site, never happened until day of move. The failure to communicate accurate information to moving team delayed move significantly as it took about two hours to sort everything out and evaluate uphill driveway. This delay affected our timeline in completing our move. I would recommend this company despite being some what expensive and being marred by poor coordination between sales team and movers. Despite everything team was professional in the face of obstacles presented and strove to meet our needs. If not for delays and general confusion would have gotten a higher rating.
Move from Knoxville TN to North Carolina.
Gouffon is the best moving crew we have hired so far. They arrived on time for pickup within the 20 minute courtesy call, very professional team who did the job with good care. The things were delivered the very next day with courtesy calls. The items were delivered in good condition and they had the best price compared to all other movers

Gouffon Moving company moved me from Knoxville TN to the Chicago area in the month of January. It was 12 below zero and Gouffon movers still worked beyond professionalism into excellence.
Not at any time did they perform less than what was expected. This company is absolutely top notch from the beginning of the move to the end of the move. If I ever moved again, I would not even call other movers. The move would only be handled by Gouffon.

Gouffon was fantastic both times I used them - once in fall 2016, again in spring 2017. Both times I had multiple drop-offs or pick-ups, and both times involved locations with somewhat difficult access. No issue for Gouffon-- their movers were efficient, polite and hard-working. There's a reason this company has been around for 130 years. Thanks, Gouffon!

This is the 3rd time that I have used Gouffon Moving & Storage and each time I have been very happy with their service.
I have to say that this time, the guys that did our moving, were the best ever!! They never stopped!! It was amazing to see how fast and efficient they worked.. when we left our old house they were going to take lunch, which I expected them to have at least a 45 minute break, they only took 15 minutes!
I had a piano and washer & dryer that had to be put in the upstairs rooms, I didn't think it would be possible, but beyond my expectations, these four boys moved and placed everything exactly where I wanted it to go with no problems!!

Smoothest Move Ever!
We used Gouffon for both packing & moving services. It was a cross town move. Their staff was extraordinarily punctual. Once the movers arrived, they set about to work straight away & kept at it until the job was done. No goofing off or time wasting.
They did an outstanding job with the packing, nothing damaged or broken.
I have moved many times & this was, without question the smoothest.
Their estimator gave me a firm bottom line price & Gouffon held to it. No surprises at the end as is so common with unscrupulous movers.
The movers themselves were prompt, efficient & exceptionally courteous.

Careful and Courteous.
They arrived on time with 7 people and loaded the trucks (2) in about 3.5 hours. They had lunch, arrived at the new home and took about the same time to unload and assemble beds, replace glass shelving they removed for the transport, and connected the washer/drying. They were careful in handling alll the goods and with the homes. They went out of their way to please. Some very minor damage such as scratches but nothing major.
Painless.
This was our first move in 10 years and we have accumulated a great deal of "stuff" . The entire process from the estimate to the guaranteed pricing, and the entire move went flawlessly. The crew was very courteous, prompt, professional and worked well together. We enjoyed talking with them and they did a great job of being careful with our belongings and my wife's numerous antiques. Not looking forward to another move anytime soon, but when we do, we will call Gouffon.

We have moved over 20 times (I have lost count) and have used many moving companies, large and small. Groupon did the best job of any company we have ever employed. They packed carefully, handled furniture extremely well and delivered it unharmed. The employees were friendly, open to suggestions and very cooperative. I highly recommend the company.
Great Move!
Very pleased with this move experience! The A Team, Michael and Austin were so polite, professional, and great communicators. They worked hard and not one ding or scratch was on my furniture, or the home I moved from or to. I have had some poor movers in the past and this experience was by far the best ever. I highly recommend Gouffon.

It is apparent when you work with their moving crews (and I have worked with 3..so far) that Gouffon has very tough hiring practices..they hire only the best. These guys are really good at what they do and are also good at beng warm, conversational and friendly..something you don't find with many other moving company crews (and I should know: we've moved 14 other times in our careers). Never have we had any problems with Gouffon. In fact we have had good suggestions from them before, during and after the moves. I suggest Gouffon to others and will continue to do so. In fact I have just asked them, and received, an estimate for a cross-state move that, hopefully, will happen within a month or two.

Guffon Moving and Storage stayed in constant communication with me through out my move. Blake, Chris and Connie were always very friendly and answered any questions that I had. I was picked up in Tennessee at the exact time I was quoted and handled my belongings very carefully. Connie called me two days before my delivery to give me an ETA on my delivery. Again, right on time. Keith and his helper were very professional in setting up my furniture exactly where I wanted it and before leaving asked if they could do anything else for me. Long-distance move.
I had never moved to another area of the state, much less to another state entirely. But this time I was moving 500 miles away to Maryland. From the start, everyone I spoke with at Gouffon Moving & Storage was helpful, professional and courteous.
