1. Waste of Money POOR communication!

   Talk about a scam! They are a broker. They find a moving company for you and than charge you double what you would have paid if you found it on your own. They tell you they do calculation by weight about $0.50/lb plus they get and additional $.50/lb for being the middle man. They told me how they'd be there for me but when I had an issue with pick-up they avoided my calls! I was told here's your 3 day window; we'll call you the day before to let you know which day and around what time. I was at work on break checking my messages & had one from the driving saying he'd be at my house in 60 min. I had to leave work 6 hrs early without pay & unexcused! As I stated when I tried to call them they didn't want to let me speak to a manager & the sales guy even lied to me to get me off the phone. Finally, after a lot of runaround I talked with a manager who did give me $100 refund (which of course didn't cover my lost wages or time I spent trying to reach someone!). Delivery would be better they told me. I got my 3 day window again. Got a call the nt. before saying when they'd be here. They didn't show, called me said they had issues but would be here the next day. Waited the next day got another call, they had more issues & would be by the next morning. On day three they showed up 1.5 hrs late! Not impressed! They are Not concerned with our time just theirs! Don't waste your money!!

2. Efficiently and quickly.

   The crew of four movers arrived on time and embarked on the work at hand straightaway. It was easy to communicate with them regarding what I wanted, and they easily responded to all my concerns. They moved my things efficiently and quickly. It is never easy to move things to the third floor, but they climbed all those flights of stairs without any complain. Up to three glasses were broken in the moving process. However, the guys communicated this to me and were even willing to compensate for the loss, but I declined because we are all human, and it is easy to err. With the kind of quality service they gave me, compensation was unnecessary. I highly recommend Open Road Moving and Storage.

3. Overall.

   DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY WILL CHEAT YOU, AND THEY WILL CHEAT YOU IN YOUR LAST DAY OF MOVEMENT SO YOU CANT BACK OFF
   
   This company is a cheat and Scam. DO NOT USE THEM!! I heard about this company and was moving from Boston to Virginia. They quoted my price to be $1600 for 8 boxes, 4 tables, a bed frame(frame only), Vaccum , couple of chairs. and treadmill A bit high price, but ok.
   1st SCAM: They didn't come till the last day of they said they would come. They just called me and asked me tell my wife to coordinate that they'll come next week. I am single and that was not acceptable as it was June 30th and I had rented till that day. They said they cant, I literally had to beg by landord for 3 extra days.
   2nd SCAM: After 3 days, they came and quoted $2500 (minus 300 dollar discount for referral and delay) without treadmill.
   3rd SCAM: We were clear on the phone with agent that if the treadmill is fold-able they don't charge for opening fees. They said it will be $300 opening fee for treadmill and extra money for weight and space.
   By now I had to pay $3000 for the things that I was quoted $1600.
   4th Scam: I had to throw my expensive treadmill and after referral discount and all I paid $2200. My things finally came to Virginia, as soon as I opened my furnitures, it fell into pieces. Moreover, they didn't bring any of the screw of my furniture and bluntly told me to "go to walmart and buy screws as its so cheap".
   5th SCAM: After calling the headquarter company they just hung up on me stating "We are just broker and all of the companies they serve has their own policy"
   
   Trust Me: DO NOT USE THEM.

4. No breakages and no missing items.

   I only had fantastic experiences with the fantastic guys from Open Road Moving and Storage. A crew of three young men picked up my things from my Connecticut home. The guys were very diligent, and I had no cause of alarm whatsoever as they demonstrated that they are pros and that my things were in good hands. A different team dropped my things at my new home Saint Joseph, Michigan. However, both sets of movers showed awesome motivation, and I liked what they did with my stuff. No breakages and no missing items, plus the bonus of timely delivery.

5. These guys never get tired.

   We had a very prompt move with Open Road Moving and Storage. The manager called the day before to confirm the move. The crew arrived at my house pretty early and embarked on the job, which they did professionally and carefully all day long until everything was done. We had many things in our fully furnished four bedroom house, but these guys never get tired until they accomplished the disassembling, parking and loading.

6. Total satisfaction.

   Can I vouch for Open Road Moving and Storage? Absolutely yes!! These are the guys I moved with to my new residence in Texas. There may be many movers in Illinois, but the majority of them will give you a poor service and charge you highly, which will leave you disappointed. However, Open Road Moving and Storage are different. Their service is geared towards the total satisfaction of the customer. I had a very easy and unflawed move with them.

7. Superb willpower and great skills.

   The team of 3 movers sent to me by Open Road Moving and Storage demonstrated superb willpower and great skills in their work. They showed that they can be depended upon as they were in total control of the moving process. It made my relocation so much less stressful knowing that I have knowledgeable and reliable guys taking care of my belongings. The guys were able to deliver my things in Hinsdale, Illinois all the way from Baltimore a day earlier. Their charges were easy and I would recommend Open Road Moving and Storage to everyone in Maryland.

8. Without any loss of my items.

   The movers from Open Road Moving and Storage were very polite and skilled. I also loved their attitude towards work. They came on time and embarked on the work without any complaints until everything was completed. They also came with the right moving tools which meant that they carefully and expertly disassembled and parked my things as if they were their own. The process was completed without any loss of my items. Open Road Moving and Storage are a super cool company and I will give them more business in future.

9. Perfect move.

   The movers came with their moving truck, moving tools and sufficient wraps at the stipulated time. They started the work immediately after inspecting the things to be moved. The guys ensured that everything was sufficiently wrapped before putting them into boxes so as to be sure they won’t be scratched. They managed to finish the packing and loading in two-and-a-half hours and started the journey to my new residence from Jersey City, NJ to Lafayette, Indiana. Everything was brought in perfect condition and it was a perfect move by the flawless Open Road Moving and Storage movers.

10. Avoid at All Cost!

    By far this was THE ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE MYSELF and MY FAMILY HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!
    This company will catch you with pleasantries in the beginning until you sign - which then forces you to pay a deposit up front
    - no mention they were a broker at this point (otherwise I would never have signed up)
    - second communications with their service rep to review final inventory was MOST UNPLEASANT
    - the service person was rude, argumentative and disrespectful
    - then surprised, the cost just doubled and bow we had to pay more down
    - they then decided to mention they were a broker
    - I asked for a refund
    - they told me its too late
    - I’m stuck with crappy price/quite, and crappy service
    
    DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY IR ANY OTHER BROKER!!
    The absolute WORST
    WILL NEVER RECOMMEND EVEN IF THEY WERE THE LAST OPTION

11. They were honest with their quoting.

    I used Open Road Moving and Storage in my very first move and I liked everything about them. I’ve heard people complain about their experience with movers, but there was absolutely no cause of alarm during my move. I used them because I found very positive reviews and ratings online about them and I can say that they are worth everything I read about them. They were honest with their quoting and the pricing was very affordable for the quality service they gave me. I recommend Open Road Moving and Storage to everyone in Connecticut.

12. I recommend them.

    Moving can be overly stressful, especially when done by persons who don’t really care about their customers. I have heard many stories of how unprincipled movers have messed up with clients and their movers. This is why I was careful when choosing a mover to take my things from Alabama to New York. Two friends who I talked to separately recommended that I use Open Road Moving and Storage. I was certain that this company that is being recommended separately by two people would do me good, and I was right. The guys were punctual and gave me a flawless service. I recommend them.

13. HORRIBLE Moving Experience! Don't use Open Road!

    DON'T USE OPEN ROAD! FIND ANYONE ELSE TO DO YOUR MOVE! WARNING!!
    A truck with 3 men who barely spoke English delivered my belongings to a storage unit today because the man in the billing office with whom I spoke 4 days prior did not relay the message to Dispatch that I had called to continue my belongings in storage for another month.
    At 3:30 pm yesterday, I received a phone call that a truck was delivering my belongings the next morning! The people in the home have not moved out yet so this meant I had to scramble at the last minute to secure a storage unit. This was handled horribly and no apology was given to me by anyone from the Dispatch Manager or the Drivers’ Manager, and I did not get any calls back from the main office despite leaving messages.
    I was there at the storage unit the entire time today while the truck was unloaded and several items are missing including a priceless original painting. Many of the boxes marked “Fragile” were mishandled by the movers roughly right in front of me and there is quite a bit of damage to my belongings. Several priceless family heirlooms were severely damaged and several custom made pieces of furniture. When I spoke to the driver about the damaged and missing items, he was very unconcerned and just said to request an insurance form.
    It is just tragic how this whole move has gone in Open Road Moving’s hands: from the pick up being delayed by 3 days, to the delivery coming unexpectedly and early with less than 24 hours notice, to the many damaged and missing priceless heirlooms, accompanied by very poor customer service and communication.

14. They were very courteous.

    My wife and I relocated from a 2500 square foot house 497 miles away. The three movers from Open Road Moving and Storage were awesome guys. They came early on Friday, loaded the furniture as well as the boxes inside the house in the truck. To our surprise, they left the truck so we could load the goods in our garage (which was not part of the things they were to carry). The movers came the following day and drove the truck carrying our things to our new residence. They arrived on Sunday morning and the three guys helped to unload the truck within three hours. They were very courteous with everything and they placed the things in the respective rooms as I had designated. They even offered tips for placement. They only left when they were certain that I was satisfied.

15. They do not disappoint.

    There are hardly any movers in Virginia who can do a better job than what was done for me by Open Road Moving and Storage during my latest move. I have used various movers during my past moves and was never satisfied with any of them. But Open Road Moving and Storage showed great professionalism in the way they not only handled my things but also how they handled me as a customer. I felt that they cherished my satisfaction and it would be unfair if I do not commend them well and recommend them. They do not disappoint.
