  1. Bait and Switch Scam.

Bait and switch as others have said. I was quoted $1500 on the original quote and had them oversize my things just to have an overestimate of the cost. On moving day, the guy came and said that my items seemed to be 350 cubic feet instead of the original 290 (he didn't measure anything, just walked in and said this after 5 seconds). He also said that I will need van services so he added $350 for that even though I specifically asked the sales guy during my first call if I would need a van and he said no. In the end, the total went from $1500 to $2500. I will never use these people again and would not recommend them to anybody.

  2. Scam.

They gave me an original quote for $1580 for all the items I have, I specifically asked them to overestimate the sizes of my items to get the highest quote possible. Day of the move comes and the guys start loading my things into the truck. Once they have loaded a couple of items the guy says to me that the quote will actually be $2500 instead of the original because it looks like I have 350 cubic feet of items instead of the original 290 they quoted. He also told me to pay him the entire amount right then and there even though I had deposited close to $500 already. I told him no so he asked for 75% instead even though the original deal was 50% at pickup and 50% at dropoff. I will never be using these guys again and will be filing complaints.

  3. Stress-free Move.

We used Texas movers group about a month ago and they were great! I wanted to make sure to post about them on since we had such a good experience with them (and such a bad experience with our previous moving company). I think our crew was Carlos (lead), Miguel, and Sammy. They were great, worked hard and quickly. They wrapped our furniture with pads and stretch wrap so everything was protected. If I had any (minor) complaint, it would be that the move took a little longer than expected, but that's because they were being really thorough with everything. Overall, I would definitely recommend them and would use them again.

  4. Stole My SS Card, Birth Certificate and Car Title.

    DO NOT USE THEM!!
They also severely scratched and chipped 2 furniture pieces.
They horribly packed my expensive leather shoes, boots and coats by putting them at very bottom of tall boxes!!

  5. Most dishonest company I have ever interacted with.

This is by far the most dishonest company I have ever interacted with.

It started with a decent sales process. A good estimate. Everything went downhill from there.

A few hours prior to pick up. They called and changed the date. Problem is I live an apartment building and could not reschule the pick up with the elevator.

On pick up, they waited that everything was in the truck to change the estimate with no real measurement.

It took them 24 days to deliver! Late as per the contract but now they contest it and use "business days" to prevent any liability.

A lot of things arrived damaged or broken. They push you through an offline insurance form hoping you will not file anything.

Interactions all throughout the ordeal have been agreesive at times, especially the manager or dishonest, always changing the delivery times.

    Horrible experience.

  6. Horrible.

They upcharge u on weight even if the sq footage is as estimated. The sales guy who is the owner is a con man and is pushy rude and sits down at ur house where he feels without asking. After a deposit is placed they try to wiggle out of their agreed move date on paper and orally . They are dishonest and they pay people and other family members of employees to give good reviews .

  7. Bad Business is No Business.

Texas Movers Group, is not a reliable or trustworthy company. My husband and I hired this company to move us from Texas to California. The estimated price increased($2800 to $4600) even after we reduced our amount of items to be moved!! The move date and time was rescheduled three times, we ended up completing the move on two separate days! The staff was always unavailable or difficult to reach by phone, had to send emails to communicate. Texas Movers Group advertise their nice company moving trucks and trailers, which is what I expected to show up for the move, but instead a antique (year model 1960) huge extra long truck that required repairs twice on the way out of state (so they claim for the delay of delivery) showed up with only ONE moving guy and a driver that did not help the ONE mover! The moving guy shared with us that his help to unload the truck was not showing up due to car trouble. The ONE moving guy was asking for my husbands assistance with some of the heavy items! Wow smh! Inventory during pick up of our items was not taken properly, and some items was not inventoried at all. When we received our items at delivery, some items was damaged, broken, and missing. Brand new packing boxes looked as though they had been tossed around and crammed in improperly, dinning chair leg was broken, missing nightstand and missing exercise equipment. The ONE moving guy shared with us that the delivery before us the customer was missing TWENTY BOXES! Wow smh! When they arrived to deliver our items the driver could not get the moving truck parked close enough to unload items and wanted MORE MONEY for a shuttle or for extra steps due to the distance! We declined and decided we would unload our items. The ONE moving guy then decided that he could get it done at no extra charge. We hired this company because of the excellent ratings/reviews and that is what I told Alex on our initial contact, but Texas Movers Group end up being a BIG disappointment. Bridgette talks a "good game" but unprofessional, fake, and not to be trusted, she is nice until they get your items loaded in truck smh. Michelle was OK but somewhat a "bullie". Hire this company at your own risk, I understand that "to err is human" but I DO NOT and WILL NOT recommend Texas Movers Group to anyone! We are in healthcare and construction fields of work and have shared this horror story to all that would listen from Texas to California, for they will not have to endure the troubles and financial hit that we went through. I believe bad business, deserves no business! I give this company NO STARS. (it would not let me give NO STARS)

  8. They are FRAUDS & the WORST moving company!

Texas Movers Group is the worst moving company I've ever used! This company only cares about getting your money and will say anything to lock you into a contract. Once you make a deposit they become negligent on their professional responsibilities as a moving company.. the sales rep was nice in the beginning, but after I made a $300 deposit it went down hill from there. The movers did not pick up my items on the scheduled day which pushed my entire moveout date behind and interrupted my plans. Once the movers did show up, they took all of my stuff out of the apartment then doubled the price from $1275 to $2100 then demanded that I pay in cash. I was so upset and felt trapped. I eventually agreed because I had to move. Anyhow, the movers told me and my family that it would be a same day delivery from Houston to Dallas so we packed everything even personal items like all of my babies Pampers and clothes.. after I made an initial $900 deposit and they left they called me and abruptly changed their minds about when I would recieve my stuff. I called the corporate office to speak to someone about the inconvenience and they were extremely rude and unprofessional. I had none of my babies items and was so stressed out. This was literally an experience from hell and I do not recommend that anyone use this company. It was so bad that I eventually filed a formal complaint through the better business bureau.

  9. Worst Moving Company.

Way too much to say about my experience but I’ll do my best to consolidate. Initially I felt reassured and Richard my sales rep made me feel good about the process. I had read bad reviews but he assured me they either weren’t even real customers or didn’t estimate their belongings appropriately.
To be sure my quote was as accurate as possible I had United Van Lines (rated #1) send a representative out to quote my belongings in storage. Of course Texas Movers Group has better pricing so after my inspection I chose to move forward with them. Texas Movers group quoted my storage unit for 539 cuft, and United Van Lines quoted me for 471 cuft so I felt confident about my quote price since it was over what the inspector estimated.
The day of pickup Texas Movers Group showed up with what looked liked an elongated horse trailer, not a moving truck. The driver came to look at my unit and in less than 30 seconds determined ‘himself’ that he wouldn’t do the move for less than almost double what I was quoted for. I explained to him my contract was based on cuft and didn’t understand why he was trying to negotiate a price upon arrival. We called the office and both myself and the driver sent pics in to show my belongings. The driver took pics of the storage unit door not pulled up all the way making it look like there was more volume than there should have been and my photos pulled the door up and turned on the unit light to show it was maybe 2/3 full. The Texas Movers Group office manager lady on the phone became irate and was unable to speak in a calm or controlled manner. After her raging and my storage unit manager also trying to pacify the situation to explain my quote was accurate, the moving manager told me she wouldn’t move me and that she’d refund my money then she hung up on me.
I called back to request that in writing and she then determined she wasn’t going to refund my deposit and that it was up to her sales department who wasn’t working that particular day. Longer story short, I fought the charges with my bank and submitted all my documentation and they agreed to refund my deposit before my claim was escalated.
So if they tell you I wasn’t a customer, they aren’t lying since they refused to move me but I can tell you they are scammers and like to pin their victims when they are most vulnerable forcing them to pay the price to have their belongings moved. I ended up renting a Uhaul and having help load/unload my truck. I hope this review is informative and helps someone’s decision if they are looking for a moving company. I would never recommend this group.

  10. Refused to honor estimate.

I wish you had a negative star system for this group. My dilemma with this mover was first of all showed up late by 6 hours. Then upon walk through spent 15 seconds inside and decided that we needed to discuss more money at which time I got my copy of the signed estimate and he decided that he wouldn't do the move. I then consulted the office and was told by Brigitte that they said that there was more items than was on the estimate. I informed her while I was counting boxes and furniture checking off each item that was listed In the estimate she stated that she would have the crew return and take the items on the estimate only. The driver of the crew called and stated that he could only take 5 boxes and the furniture and never returned to the property. They required a $279 deposit before even showing up which should have been the first red flag. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY WILL ATTEMPT TO RIP YOU OFF.

  11. Moved was very successful.

I have contacted them to help me with my 2700 sq home move. It was a good experience and the packing service was awesome. Not a single damage. Thanks a lot for doing your best. Will see you soon.

  12. Awful. Mostly awful.

The guys who picked up the furniture in Texas were excellent. The sales rep was dishonest and had no influence over the work product when I ran in to problems. The customer service manager Michell was unpleasant and combative over the phone, they assured me I could pay with a credit card at first, and once I gave them a check they said they would keep it. They cited credit card fraud as the reason why, yet they continue to take credit cards from new customers. Mind you, they had my credit card payment AND my check payment for several days, accruing interest that the refund did not cover when Sean Wen from accounting changed our agreed terms unilaterally. The drop off team left trash in my driveway saying "I paid for the boxes" and left them there, torn up and no longer useful. They ran over my yard leaving a divot in the grass, they neglected to assemble and hang, and many boxes were left unpacked. Other than the initial pickup (not to mention they changed the price on the spot), this company would get a zero.

  13. If you’re moving cross country, find someone else!

Everything was nice in the beginning for my move from Texas to Florida. I chose them over other companies because John had taken the time to come to my place and do inventory unlike the others who did it over the phone, plus the cost was on par with the others as well. On pickup day however, everything changed. I was charged an extra $500 for a fuel surcharge that was phrased differently on the other packet, and $150 of the extra was for packing materials which was 2 tall boxes and about 5 feet worth of bubble wrap. They guy doing the paperwork was very full of himself and acted as if he owned my apartment. At one point he even commanded me to vacuum my room. Once everything was out of my apartment we had a delivery window of Jan 5-Jan 15. My belongings were not picked up from their warehouse in Texas until the 14th causing great delay in it arriving to me. We had a weekend trip planned after the delivery window that we had to push back multiple times to accommodate them and then eventually cancel because of the lateness in delivery. They were made well aware of this trip and assured us that if the delivery were to interfere they would work with us. Well they didn’t. Once my things showed up they put together my bed and dining table. The guy was putting together a table leg when we all heard a crack. The man had split the wooden leg while screwing it onto the chair and just said oops and walked away. There was tape and wrappings in bushes and flowers outside that I had to pick up after they left. There was also old tape rolls they had wrapped up in tape all throughout my apartment. On top of that they chipped some of my high end artwork and cracked the back piece of my living room chair as well. We were told we would received $30 for each day it was late, it’s been a month and we have yet to see any money from them. This isn’t everything they had pulled on me, there was more. I would never recommend them, in fact if they’re your last choice it’s probably best to just move everything yourself.

  14. Texas Movers Group Horrible Moving company.

    Liars and deceivers.
"we only use our own trucks and employees" this according to Austin their salesman. The driver and his truck call us to say he is having problems with our "Texas Movers Group". He is a contractor and was hired out by them to deliver.
The driver called us the day of delivery to let us know he would not deilvier our household belongings and that everything would be put in storage because Texas Movers Group told him they were not going to pay the driver and to not deliver our home goods, the person the driver spoke to was "supposedly" an owner.
We called the Austin at the company only for him to say "i know nothing'. He would call us back. Really, the salesman who gets paid for selling this disaster has no knowledge that his boss won't pay the contractor?
We got a call from a "Michelle" who announced herself as the office manager and that she was handling the situation. I asked who called the driver but she ignored us. She was awful to talk to and just dumped it off as a "misunderstanding". The driver said until we pressed "Michelle" for 2 hours he was parked on the road waiting for his "Trucking" company to get paid.
Can you believe that we are in our new empty home waiting for the moving company only to be told by the "contracted" trucker that he would not deliver our home goods because the owner "Shalomae" told him directly not to deliver.
Whoever the idiots in the office, managers, sales and owners, they can go to He.l!
I will say that the initial team sent to pick and pack our home were excellent and the team sent to deliver, although not professionals, were super hard working and did a good job. It is just the lunatic owner, salesmen and office manager.
Never ever use this company. But if you ever have an opportunity to work with a "Trucker" named Tahir from Uzbeckistan, he was a stand up guy!
And they "misplaced" our own hand truck. I will let you know if they reimburse us for it.

  15. Just great.

This is my first time using this company and it was great. They moved me from TX to CA less than in 7 days. Not only they packed all my belongings fast also they wrapped it. Professional company and crew. Would highly recommend.
