It was a easy and stress free experience dealing with 495 Movers. The sales rep came to our home and perfomed a detailed inventory and explained all the costs, including storage. He explained how different items would be packed and stored. I found 495 service and rates to be better than all others, including the "big boy professional" movers. The moving out day went smoothly as did the delivery to our new home. Very competent and professional team both times. We paid a little extra to have 495 Movers pack our kitchen, which I recommend everyone to do. They re-assembled everything expertly and there was no damage or breakage noted. They also maintained excellent communications with us via email and phone calls which was very reassuring. I would highly recommend 495 Movers to anyone moving locally or long distance. .
Great Moving Company.
We had an excellent experience with 495 Movers. They were on time, fully stocked with supplies, and moved our household items very quickly. We were quoted for 12 hours and the move was done in roughly 7 hours. As we are unpacking now, I have seen really no damage to any of our items. I would definitely recommend using 495 movers for your next move.
Great local move.
I used 495 Movers for a local move and my experience was very positive from the estimate stage to the actual moving day. Everyone I interacted with was professional and helpful; it's clear that they are committed to provided excellent service. Moti conducted and in-person survey of my belongings to ensure the most accurate estimate and was very responsive to my follow up questions. The day before the move, Jacob called with a final confirmation. Freddie & team on the day of the move were great. They packed my items quickly and efficiently and checked with me throughout the move to make sure items were packed and placed as I wanted them. After the move, John from the main office called to follow up, ensure that I was satisfied with the move and to thank me for my business. I would definitely recommend 495 Movers.
Beyond my expectations.
I used this company for my move based on reviews on the internet. The three guys who came to help with my move exceeded my expectations. First of all my move was estimated to take 5 hours and that was exactly how long it took and this included a 1 hr 15 minute drive. The team came 15 minutes early and were on the job immediately. They moved quickly, smoothly and quietly. The guy in charge was very organized. They packed everything safely and neatly. They were very good at packing my ridiculously heavy couch. They came with all packing materials at no extra cost and boy did they use it. You don't need to pack your fragile items such as tv's, mirrors, etc. They will do that for you very quickly. They came with numerous boxes etc. When we reached the house they had no issues going up the stairs to put stuff, etc. They showed no signs of hesitation to do anything. Very focused on their job. I really had such a great experience that I would definitely use them for my next move. I would be surprised to find any negative reviews. These guys are truly professional movers.
My first stress free move.
I have never found moving to be anything but a stressful event. 495 Movers helped make my third (and hopefully last) move in 2014 stress free for me from the beginning to the end. I requested a quote and received one at home the very same day. Later that evening they delivered free packing supplies to my apartment and said not to worry about how far I got with the packing because they would finish up whatever was left the day of the move. The day of the move the moving team showed up early, ready to go and knew exactly what to do. Each of them were friendly and diligent/efficient workers. Even though I didn’t pack up all my belongings previously they were able to move me faster than the amount of time estimated in my quote. I hope I don’t have to move again any time soon but when I do I will use 495 Movers again.
Move to Florida was a breeze.
I found 495 Movers by reading reviews on several different mover review sites. 495 Movers got consistently good reviews. Their representative, Jacob Kuhn, started educating us about moving from when we first called to ask for a quote visit.
Jacob told us what we needed to do and what 495 Movers would do and everything happened exactly that way. There were no surprises; the packing and delivery crews are professional, hard working, courteous and thorough. The packing crew packed everything, and with care and ensurance that all items would be in the same condition when they arrived. Since we had no house to move to when we left Maryland Jacob gave us plenty of storage time so we would be able to find a house. Once we did, 495 Movers got our stuff to us promptly, The delivery crew was as professional, hard working, courteous and thorough as the as the packing crew.
495 Movers uses a fixed price model which enables you to budget. Other moving companies started with lower initial quotes, but left delivery and packing costs open, so you can never be sure of how much you will end up paying.

Same day move was stress free!
Moving interstate is so stressful and finding the right movers can alleviate a lot of that stress and John at 495Movers did just that! From the moment our phone conversation began I knew I was in excellent hands! I was coordinating the move by phone from my home in Florida for my son who was moving from dc to New York. This move had to be done all in one day! The day of the move three men showed up and took right over wrapping all his furniture as they went about removing all of his belongings! They left at 11am to start their drive to New York City and 4 1/2 hours later they met us at the New York apartment! We literally had just arrived after taking a plane from dc to meet them! The move in went just as smoothly as before and unfortunately for the movers they had to bring it all in to a two story walk up in 90 degree weather! These three men were amazing! Not a single thing was damaged all of his breakables were in perfect condition! I cannot say enough about this company from my first call with John to our experience with Jose and his men on the day of the move! I would highly recommend this company to anyone! I could not wait to call John at 495Movers and express my gratitude as soon as the movers walked out the door! Outstanding service!
After receiving a cancellation notice an hour before the scheduled moving time from Green line LLC, the 495 movers came in and delivered an outstanding service on a short notice. They were professional and efficient! We had an excellent customer experience. We will use them for our next move with no hesitation. Office Move.
495 Movers were truely exceptional. Jacob was friendly, helpful and communicative. He assisted me in many areas including networking me with a company to help in redesigning the cubicle formation, this alone was a huge help in making the move go smoothly.
The contract was extremely flexible; allowing me to tailor the entire move specifically to meet our needs. There was no grey area, it was all clearly outlined and easy to understand.
On move day the team arrived on time and ready to go. They were remarkably fast and efficient as well as carefull in the packing and wrapping of all of our office furniture. Tom led the team during the entire move and is clearly very good at his job, everything was carefully placed exactly where I requested in perfect condition.
The entire moving crew of 8 men were very friendly and polite. They all seemed to be happy to help me with anything I needed.
The move took half the time we expected and without a single problem. My company's move was a big success because we put our trust in the hands of 495 Movers.

Seriously Fantastic Movers.
The moving team was fantastic! We had everyhing boxed before they arrived to help cut cost, but I'm sure they would have done an excellent job packing. The team wrapped furniture and tetrised everything into the truck. They were efficient, careful, and strong. We were only moving 10 miles away, but the estimate was spot on. Should we need to move again, we would definitely use 495 Movers again.
Stress free move.
I have had some bad experiences with movers so I am always a bit anxious when I have to move, but this was the smoothest and easiest move I remember. I don't usually ask the movers to pack my things, but this time I asked them to pack my kitchen. I have a lot of kitchen stuff :) It would have taken me many hours to pack it. It took them about an hour or maybe a bit less. They were very efficient and quick. Nothing got broken (which is probably more than I could say if I packed myself).
Other than that, the guys were very fast and friendly. I moved into a 4 story townhouse. They seemed to have boundless energy, wasted no time, and kept me informed about what was going on along the way.
I don't really want to think about moving again, but when I do I will call 495 movers.

This was by far the most easy move we've had and we moved more then six times in the past ten years.
We moved our house and they made it seem so easy it was incredible.
They packed and wrapped and moved our entire house in a day and it even took less time then they estimated.
The team was very professional and respectfull to us and to our belongings.

495 Movers - Great Start, Terrible Finish.
I used 495 Movers to relocate from Baltimore, Maryland to San Diego, California in the summer of 2013. A cross-country move like this is stressful under the best circumstances, and 495 Movers made it an even worse experience. Several boxes and a set of shelves were lost (or stolen), their contract employees that delivered my belongings were rude bullies, and the management/contacts at 495 Movers were dismissive and rude once they had my money.
On initially contacting Jacob at 495 Movers in June of 2013, he was very helpful and understanding in helping to plan my move. They offered a comparable estimate for moving my two-bedroom apartment across country. The movers who arrived to pack and load my belongings were also very polite and competent. Basically: when 495 Movers still wants your money and your business, they will go the extra mile to make you feel safe and comfortable. This treatment will change once they have your belongings and you are under contract.
Upon delivery of my belongings in San Diego, the subcontractors were rude and dismissive. At first they refused to unload the truck without additional cash paid directly to them, because my new apartment was set back from the street and behind another building. This situation had been made very clear by me BEFORE delivery was attempted, or even scheduled, and was within the maximum distance as noted on my contract. The subcontractors ultimately agreed, after they failed to shake me down for more cash. They remained very loud, rude and aggressive throughout the unloading process, and when I contacted Jacob at 495 Movers directly, during the delivery, he said only that he was “sorry for the inconvenience.”
The aggressive nature of these subcontractors caused me to make a very serious mistake: I failed to account for every box on the checklist as it was being delivered. I felt bullied and intimidated by the movers, and I felt like Jacob at 495 Movers was no longer my ally in this process. After the movers left, with my apartment in disarray, I realized that two boxes of comic books were not present, and that a set of four shelves from a cabinet were also missing. The comic books valued more than $200, and the missing shelves made the cabinet unusable.
I contacted Jacob at 495 Movers about the missing items, and he sent a terse email directing me to CSI, where I could make a claim and seek damages. My claims were denied in total, because it was my responsibility to note the missing items upon delivery.
This is all very legal. 495 Movers has acted within the bounds of our contract. But my items are still missing -- comic books with monetary and sentimental value, and a set of shelves -- and 495 Movers will no doubt continue to treat customers with dismissive disdain once money has changed hands, and will most likely continue to employ subcontractors that care nothing for the objects being delivered, or for the customers already undergoing a stressful moving experience.
495 Movers, their employee Jacob Kuhn, and the subcontractors who delivered most but not all of my possessions, let me down and ignored me when I sought a resolution. Potential movers: they are interested solely in your money, and not your peace of mind. Do NOT employ 495 Movers, and know that while they might treat you with respect at the beginning of your move, once they have been paid, you will no longer be a concern of theirs.
I repeat: do not use 495 Movers for your relocation, local or cross-country. They’re dismissive and rude, at best. They will carefully pack and take your things away; what happens after that, only you are concerned with. .
Short Notice Move - Amazing Service!
My moving experience was fantastic! I had called the morning of the move after a holiday to see if they were available to help move me from southern MD to northern VA (it was the only time I had available). Even though they were late getting there, it was to be expected considering the timing of traffic. The team that helped move me was wonderful! They were friendly, polite hard workers. I appreciated their expediency and we completed everything within the allotted time I had hoped to be all moved in. They were great and I will definitely be using them again since I am moving back up to MD shortly.
