  1. Moved from Edmonton to Oshawa

My friend recently moved from Edmonton to Oshawa and I helped her find this company to do the move. I contacted a couple moving companies to get a quote, and a some of them would have been hundreds of dollars more to do the moving. Centennial Moving wasn't the cheapest but they were the ones I felt the most comfortable using. On pick-up day they arrived within the scheduled time window, they even called the night before to confirm the appointment and to make sure that we will be ready for them. The 2 moving men came in and went right to work professionally wrapping all of her fragile furniture, with professional moving blankets, and they provided boxes to load everything else, they put down floor runners on the carpet to protect the carpets from the movers feet. The moving men were really cautious while moving all the furniture and boxes.

Movers delivered the furniture, got there pretty quick and unloaded everything without incident. They even helped put back together the furniture, and unwrap all the furniture. All in all it was a great experience using this moving company !!!

  2. Fast Delivery, Reasonable Price and Great service

I contacted Centennial on short notice because they were not actually my first choice and it turns out that I made the right decision on acquiring their services. The 1st mover I contacted has no proper process(probable hidden charges) and the 2nd requires a down payment more than 50 percent of the total cost.

Centennial have a documented guidelines on moving your stuff and very transparent on providing you the total cost that you have to pay. So you wont be expecting additional charges unless you wrongly gave them the quote of your items. With regards to experience, I contacted them 9 days before my pickup plan date. They have available schedule which they provided me a pickup date closer to my plan(3 days after). So they are available in response to customer needs on urgency of the move even on short notice.

I saw the truck arrived early at my place and they waited just to be on time base on the schedule they gave. The staff involved with carrying my items are polite and very friendly as well. After I went back to Toronto, I was then informed that my items will be scheduled for drop at my place by that week which I was not expecting because its a long distance move from Edmonton to Toronto. Exactly 13 days from pickup and my items were delivered at my place, that is how fast they deliver. All my items are accounted for and there are no damages. I see they handle them properly and with care while moving around.

Definitely will recommend and will acquire their services again in the future.

  3. Overall great experience

I've had positive experience through out moving, my stuff was moved across provinces from west to east cost. Right from planning to delivery everything went smoothly. The pick up was delayed a bit, but i was informed in advance and the communications through out was excellent. The delivery team was curtious and followed my instructions to keep stuff where i wantes without hehesitationwill use their services in the future again and Definitely recommend.

  4. Moved from Ottawa to Calgary

I used Centennial moving for a long distance move from Ottawa to Calgary. Considering the many different factors that can go wrong, and the complexity of a long distance move, I am pleased with their performance. Generally the process was smooth, the team was professional, and my stuff arrived in good condition. The communication with the staff/dispatch is great, they are quick to respond and informative. The main negative is not really having control over your pick up and drop off dates, so there needs to be some flexibility there (which, luckily, I had). Also there was no warning when the movers came to pick up the stuff (they just showed up on the date, during the window), but this was fixed very quickly and effectively for the drop off, as the dispatch team was in touch with me throughout the morning.

  5. Best Service

I look into more than seven different moving companies. Centennial moving gave me the best estimate and the best customer service. Michael and Kevin did a brilliant job, understanding my situation. The only thing that need to improve is that they should give a exact date on the time of booking in this way the client didn’t need to get special storage because it is unexpected for them when will be the moving truck arrive. Giving a notice 3 days before doesn’t make sense at all. Overall it is the best service I can recommend to anyone.

  6. Great Service and Efficient

Had a great moving experience with Centennial Moving from Hamilton to Ottawa, ON. The quote was competitive to other movers we looked into. Pickup time was spot on and was completed in about an hour and drop-off was also on time and completed just as fast. Great service and Dave was really helpful getting everything coordinated. I would highly recommend.

  7. Grimsby, ON to Riverview, NB

I like to extend our great appreciation to the whole team of Centennial Movers. To be honest we were a little skeptical at the beginning after Dave give us the quote for our move. But he assured us that the estimate cost on the quote is all we are paying. We are so surprise how professional and skilled the movers from the day of our pickup to the delivery of our stuff. Again, thank you so much to everyone, I would highly recommend Centennial movers to anyone.

  8. Great Service!

The whole moving process was great. Especially the communication and how carefully they handled our furnitures. Five stars for the service

  9. Most definitely

This company consists of highly skilled and professional movers who made our cross-province move comfortable. They moved our belongings with great care. Everything was on time, stress-free, with no damages and all our favourite fragile items safely. Thank you a lot! ! Dining table, sofa our beds all were disassembled and assembled correctly. This is absolutely the best moving company I have ever used. These movers are professional and diligent. Would hire again most definitely.

  10. Had a great experience with Centennial!!

Let me start with the conclusion, I had an amazing experience with them. I did not pay a single penny more than what was quoted to me and received all my stuff without any damages.

I moved from a 1bd apartment in North York, ON to a semi-detached in Airdrie, Alberta. My first call was with Dave - Senior coordinator, he answered all the questions I had with as much as details possible. Very helpful, kind, patient, communicative and empathetic. Their quote was nominal compared to other moving companies. I paid a $150 deposit to book their services. On the day of the loading, their team arrived promptly. There were 3 people, 1 supervisor and 2 for lifting and loading. They were very friendly, engaging, and loaded all my stuff with utmost care. Gave me a paper copy of all of the items that was loaded, confirmed the content with me before leaving.

It took exactly 30 days or 20 business days to get my stuff from North York, ON to Airdrie AB. The transit time was communicated to me multiple times so I was totally fine with it.

Their despatch team communicated (during loading and unloading) via email and made sure all of the information is right, so I don't make any mistakes and end up in a touch spot, which I absolutely loved! I got notification from their team 3 days prior to unloading. Again, they were pretty prompt with their arrival time. I paid the rest of the balance to the supervisor (not sure if he was the super, I assumed he was) who came to unload, a team of 3 unloaded my stuff with utmost care. They confirmed if everything was okay and only then they left. Very professional!

This was my experience with Centennial Moving. As I mentioned in the beginning, I did not have any bitter experience with them and they made this entire moving process easy and less stressful. My humble thanks to the entire Centennial team! I'd recommend their services to my friends and family! Cheers!!

    Communication - 8/10

    Staff - 10/10

    Price - 10/10

    Service - 8/10

    Transit time - 7/10

  11. Do not use this company and don’t trust reviews on their own website

What ever you DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY!!!!!

This is the worst moving company in the world. I paid almost $8000 to have my 3 bed room house packed & moved from Quebec to Ontario. My house was packed up by Centinial end of August 2021 and arrived in Ontario 10days later in Sept 2021.

There were broken some broken & missing items largely my Tv and outdoor chair cushions were missing.

It’s now December 2021 and I still have not received my stuff this is response I received from them in Dec.

“ In terms of cushions and TV, those were found and we planned to send it, but the customer from the same truck who has it, had everything delivered in the storage unit and then left the country, so we can't access it without him.”

It’s 3 months later, it’s been a night mare they barely respond to my emails or return my calls.

Now they expect me to wait for when ever this fictional person returns in a year or two. I don’t even know if this story is true. They might have just stolen my items and are using this excuse.

Please don’t ever use this company unless all you want is missing items and stress.

They are very unprofessional and very dishonest.

Not to mention very expensive my original quote was around $3000 but after they picked up my stuff they sent an invoice of over $7000 so I had no choice but to pay before getting my stuff delivered.

I have no idea if I will ever see my stuff again!

  12. Delays, Rude Service

I used Centennial Moving to move from Vancouver to Ottawa in September. It was an overall terrible experience. We were told we'd receive our items in three weeks. It took over 1.5 months to get our things with constant delays and no updates. I realize they are delays given COVID-19 ... however when I asked for an update and expressed concern I was met with rudeness and dismissal by the staff. It was extremely challenging to move to a new city under these circumstances.

The movers themselves were quick and efficient... however it was the mismanagement and poor customer service that left be frustrated. Additionally, they delivered an additional large box that wasn't ours, and misplaced one of our boxes. Now we are barely getting compensated a fraction of a the value of our missing things.

I wouldn't recommend this company if you're trying to plan an efficient, long distance move.

  13. Excellent arrival

I would like to let you know that on Wednesday 20th, our belongings were delivered as scheduled. Everything arrived in excellent condition, and therefore I would like to thank you for your service, time and assistance!!! The people both in Montreal and here that helped with the packing and unpacking of our things were really nice and helpful!!!! Thank you so much once again.

  14. Moved From Edmonton to Toronto

They were well on time and managed the move professionally, I am not a typical review writer, but I would highly recommend their services.

The way movers packed up our stuff surprised me, beyond my expectation.

  15. This costed me $145 - Read

I’m going to be fair, and tell you the pros and cons. Everything started great with Centennial for my move from Calgary to Toronto. I was provided a good quote, and my move coordinator Dave was excellent. He was very responsive, and gave very detailed responses to all my issues. The move was coordinated easily, and was scheduled for 24june21. Note, I heavily underestimated the weight, and the actual weight was substantially more. I was told it would be a big trailer coming which I assume would take my stuff from Calgary to Toronto, with minimal moving between trucks, but when a small truck arrived i knew my stuff would get handled twice as much. We have all travelled on airplanes with boxes, regular boxes packed in a regular way, and as we know these boxes arrive pretty beat up – same concept applies to movers, and this had me a bit worried knowing they would handle my stuff yet again. The crew who came to pick up the furniture were not very professional, but they did their job and didn’t damage anything – but I was expecting more of a professional service from “such a professional” moving company. My stuff was delayed beyond the 4 week estimate, but arrived in 7 weeks – not too bad, and the contract stated there are no guarantees so I cant place blame.

Then our stuff arrived. Very unprofessional movers – no masks, no booties. They had to be asked to put protective covers when taking large items upstairs as to not damage the house. They questioned us on why we used “such big boxes” – doesn’t matter, we don’t need to hear your opinion on how we packed. All the boxes had clear labels as to where they were to go. Yet they would still ask where things went, and huffed and puffed if something has to go upstairs. Also, they placed a bunch of stuff just in the garage instead of where it belonged – must be nice to just do whatever you want to reduce your workload. I had to then move a lot of these heavy boxes myself throughout the house over the next several weeks. And at the end they even asked for a tip…now lets talk about our stuff. Out of 6 pieces of bigger furniture, they broke/lost 3 pieces – that’s 50% of my large items broken or missing! The TV stand was literally crushed (not cheap Ikea stuff), and a custom bench was broken. We had a HUGE king size bed headboard size 8’x5’, which weighed over 200lbs – this was lost and never recovered. How does a moving company loose such a huge piece of furniture? Did they break it and just dump it? Did they decide it was too big and just didn’t care enough to move it? I have moved full family homes over 10 times, and have never broken anything like this, because I used common sense and cared. So we filed a claim on 16Aug, pretty angry that half of my furniture was broken by this super professional moving company who I paid over $7000 to. They responded 2 months later, and stated that I denied additional insurance (which I did, because im a regular person with regular stuff (not garbage), and none if it was super expensive that I needed extra insurance. I also didn’t think any of my stuff was easily breakable), therefore I would be only entitled to the basic insurance payout of 0.60c/lb. Also, there was a $300 deductible (per contract), so they ever so graciously offered me $145 to close the issue, with a stipulation that I cannot post negative reviews anywhere. After losing $3500 worth of stuff, and getting offered $145, it was a slap in my face. So I write this review which cost me $145, to tell you all about my experience. Note, Centennial did in no way breach the contract, so legally I have no recourse. I don’t believe breaking half of someone’s furniture is even remotely acceptable for a professional moving company, regardless of the insurance payouts. For Centennial who I’m sure will respond to this, yes you asked me 3 times if I needed extra insurance, and yes I declined.
