  1. RUN!!!! DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER GEO VAN LINES!!!!

    BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! RENT A U-HAUL AND HIRE YOUR OWN LOADING/UNLOADING LABOR. ANYTHING BUT GEO VAN LINES!!!

    We have moved many times and this was by FAR the worst experience. They will get you by sounding nice and organized, but they are definitely not. We have MANY broken items, the communication after they got their money (round 1) was horrible, and to top it off they did not show up with our belongings on the day we were promised....nor on the next day. When they were finally going to deliver they extorted more money (without any satisfactory explanation) and were going to hold our belongings hostage until we paid them. THEN, WHEN THE TRUCK ARRIVED WE WERE ASKED FOR AN ADDITIONAL SUM BEFORE THEY WOULD UNLOAD! The "not to exceed" estimate was exceeded by over $1000. The old bait and switch is in full flower here, folks. To add insult to injury many many things were broken and some were just plain missing. My Christmas tree? Seriously, how do you "misplace" a 7 foot tall tree? Suffice to say there will be an official complaint lodged with the state.

    PLEASE, OH PLEASE DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH THIS COMPANY!

  2. Do not use!!!!!!

    DO NOT USE THEM! Missing boxes, unresponsive, broken and damaged items, and more! I spent quite a bit of money moving with this company, moving from Texas to Georgia. of course the initial call was wonderful and Raymond was “so helpful.” On pick up day, there was a large discrepancy in pricing and the amount due for pick up, even when my inventory and packing items matched what was listed in the quote perfectly. Prior to that day he knew me by name and answered my calls. Come that day, I hear NOTHING. I called his direct extension, sent an email, called customer service. Tried to gave my mother call who also worked with him directly in the move process and all of our attempts were ignored. Because I was on a time crunch and didn’t have the chance to explore another option, I had to proceed anyway. When the movers arrived to my storage unit, they complained the entire time about how my items (washer and dryer, couches, etc.) were “too heavy” and “next time buy lighter stuff.” My items were shoved and tossed in the unit and I complaimed twice about how they handled my items. Not only that, they are missing multiple boxes with very expensive items. I am not sure how this happened when I was sure to buy almost $100 worth of sturdy, matching boxes from Lowe’s and CLEARLY labeled them all on the tops and sides with my name so there was no confusion. Even having purchased insurance with them, I’m sure you can imagine the reimbursement rate does not come close to the hard earned money spent to buy the items in the boxes. My dryer has large dents and dresser Is completely torn on the bottom and leaning now. A $400 speaker that was packed in its original box WITHIN the moving box is completely dented and damaged, which is just a testament to how carelessly they handle your items. IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING YOU CARE ABOUT, DO NOT TRUST THEM TO HANDLE IT.

  3. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

    INCONSIDERATE, DISRESPECTFUL, HEARTLESS, MONEY LAUNDERERS!!! I was like a few others who have spoken out that said they saw the poor reviews and thought it would be all right and gave them the benefit of the doubt. How naive I was. In the end, even one of the employees admitted they told me what they thought I would want to hear just to make a sale.

    To begin, I was lied to by Ron. On our first phone call, he kept stating over and over, “Stop stressing. Don’t worry; we are going to take care of you. You’ll get your belongings, everything will be fine, just pay the down payment, and we will get everything situated for you. Just sign the paperwork and get the deposit down and we’ll get this going.” When I inquired about the statement that it could take up to 21 days, he said, “It’s not going to be 21 days. That is if you are moving to someplace like Idaho! Please, stop stressing! We will get your things there really fast.” When I called the following day I regarded the 1-star scores for the company and was told by him, “Those are people who just want to complain. They are probably like 3 years old. You have to pay to be a part of the BBB, so those complaints are not even valid because we do not pay to be a part of them.” I explained that they were actually very recent and people complained that their things were broken, they weren’t repaid for the damages, couldn’t get ahold of anyone, etc. He said, “That is not true. Don’t believe that. Listen, I will personally see to it your things will arrive promptly, and nothing will happen to them. They will be taken care of. I’m giving you my word; I will personally make sure of it. Don’t worry.” When the movers showed up, I was told, “It can be as early as 5 days, but will probably be about a week.” That was repeated at least three times while his manager, Jack, was on the phone! I should also note that all the guys were smoking POT the entire time they were moving & loading my things!

    I received my belongings on the 19th day, not 7 days later like I was told. Many of my things are damaged. I was given the wrong number to the movers who were delivering my things so could not get ahold of them to determine an estimated time of arrival. Furthermore, GeoVanLines did not have anyone to answer the following day of that email, being a Sunday, to get a correct number. SO, I get a phone call at 10 minutes before 9 PM on a Sunday night from the movers saying they are 20 minutes away! I was in my pajamas and just about to start fixing dinner. The mover precedes to tell me he was not given the correct phone number for me and had been trying to call the day before. I told him it was very late, and I have work in the morning. I was about to fix supper, and I was not appropriately dressed or prepared, and this was incredibly short notice. He gets his manager to call me, who says they were given the wrong number and only just now got the correct one when they referred back to an email that was sent previous and says, “Well, if you can’t accept the delivery now, I will have my guys put it in storage, and it can be delivered in 3 WKS when the next group comes through.”I explain the current scenario and it is going to take a while for them to unload; there are only 2 movers! He says, “Oh, no. It will take like 30 min. Drop-offs are much faster than pick-ups.” There was really only One person moving because the other guy was on his phone and shouting at the head guy that he was not helping him, that he was tired of helping him do everything. So, I had to jump in and help this kid bring my things in and take off all the coverings. This took nearly 2 hrs. At the end, when he had to bring in the washer, again he asked the other guy, “can you at least help me with the washer?” And the other guy starts going off on him all over again. He was able to get it in the house but could only move it so far on his own, so I went over and started walking it to the laundry room when he told me to just stop and let him do it. But he couldn’t, so instead left it sticking out halfway into my hallway. My bed frame arrived missing 3 of its wheels, my dresser and office drawers have the wood paint scraped off, they dropped my rocker on the sidewalk by stacking a bunch of my things scratching that, a collectors beer mug broken, crystal candle holders broken, a huge dent in a brand new crockpot I didn’t even have a chance to use once, they took the mattress cover I purchased, lost the hoses to the washer, and scratched my washer. What is even more unbelievable is many of these items were bubble wrapped packed in a box that was in another box that had pillows on both ends! On top of that, they also refused to wear masks during this uptick of the pandemic.

  4. Stood us Up

    We had a confirmed moving day with confirmation the day before. They had a truck break down and had no alternatives. They cancelled on us on moving and packing day. No alternatives, no suggestions, just "too bad." We still had a few days before we HAD to get out but I never heard from the again when trying to simply reschedule. Confirmation to me to use the big, but more expensive, companies. They wouldn't have left me in a lurch like this. I ended up having to use UHaul myself. Very uncool and unprofessional.

  5. Move and storage from TX to VA

    Worst experience in 13 moves! the only good person there is Shannon. My house hold goods were eaten by rats while in storage and the delivery truck driver broke so much of my household goods. filed a claim it was denied due to moving company inventory sheets not filled out correctly by moving company.company has not responded sent letter from an attorney now I am filing a law suit. dont use this company

    The best service rendered for my move from Dallas to Neshville, best rates, excellent follow up & pickup guys really so quick & best of experience to wrapping up the stuff. Always like to recommend to friends and family

  7. Worst company .. Stay away .. Read the reviews

    They promised tocome between 8-12 p.m. but they didn’t show up until 3:00 p.m. They didn’t have the required tools to assemble and disassemble the furniture. Unfortunately, I didn’t read the reviews until the last min, because I was busy closing out for my home, but after I did , I decided to cancel the service because they just proved all the reviews about them are right. They charged me $375 cancellation fees and they did nothing more than phone talk. I accepted this damage, rather than letting them touching my furniture and screw me over like what they did to the rest of the folks. Please, read the reviews…

  9. Do not hire this firm

    First of all, let me say I am mad at myself for not doing enough due diligence. As many other reviewers have said, great experience upfront, friendly staff, thorough review of the job scope. On moving day the team did not show up until 11:00 am. Then they quit at 5. I fully expected to move in one day, nothing even made it on the truck. Then, at 5:05 on Monday evening, they demanded payment for the time spent on day one, which was about 3/4 of the total quoted fee. Then the manager(?) claimed he couldn’t take a credit card and demanded cash or Venmo. As no one had let me know of that policy, I was not prepared. Finally they reluctantly agreed to take my credit card, requesting a hand written form with a picture of my credit card and driver’s license. Next day they sent a small truck, had to make multiple trips. All in all a miserable, frustrating experience. I had to hire a second company on day 3 to help pull everything they dumped in my garage and get it into my house. The movers were great guys and worked really hard, but the management of this place is stunningly incompetent and corrupt. Job ended up costing twice what was quoted.

  10. Operationally a Mess

    BEWARE. DEFINITELY A SCAM

    The customer service branch will sell you on promises and assurances. Then when moving day comes it's all up to operations....

    When I was called on Friday to let me know what day the truck would come, they said Sunday. I had to ask what time to expect the truck.... The "DISPATCHER" said around lunch time. The whole call was about 15 seconds. When moving day comes, there's no truck to be seen. By 1 I had called the "dispatcher" to see where the truck was. He told me he'd call them to find out.... It took this person 4 hours to respond to me, to which he said the truck had broken down in Waco. Why didn't the "dispatcher" know that hours before hand and call to let me know?

    Regardless, I have a time sensitive move and went to get a UHaul instead... Take the quote promised and get a UHaul and some of their certified people since it's about the same price.

    Buyer beware. They'll take your deposit and run.

  11. MUST READ - PLEASE BE AWARE!!!

    Scott Hinson was my Rep. Moved from TX to IN. They lost my box spring mattress, damaged brand new desk and chair, bed frame, couch, dresser and drawers, grill, table, entertainment center, and many other things. This was in Dec, 2020. After 6 months, still have not received any reimbursement. The contract was one price, but increased tremendously. Horrible experience!!!

  12. DO NOT USE!!!!

    Everything everyone else is saying is true. & They lost (or stole) my jewelry. Left my tvs hanging on the walls in my old apartment. Showed up to my apartment 10 hours after they stated they would be there. Did not arrive to my new place until 11pm and was there until 1am. DEMANDED CASH ONLY. It was just a hot mess.

  13. Do not use this company

    They lost my box with my grandmother’s ashes in it and let me keep calling to try to retrieve it. Not once have they told me they lost it. They just keep telling me they will call me back which they haven’t. It has been 7 months and still nothing. They tried to compensate me only $45. You can’t put a price on that. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

  14. Do NOT use this company

    Booked this move with super friendly girl Lindsey, it sounded like a dream of a move. You know she sold me on this whole thing how it’s will all be great and nothing to worry about. OMG have I only done a better research, I moved from Dallas to Houston they cancelled me last minute due to rain and it haven’t even rained on that day, so they promised me the movers will come the following morning by 7am latest, nope they showed up at 11am instead and mind you there is no way to reach anyone, no one is picking up their phone,, and this is not even the worst part yet!! I want to scream, so I have a studio apartment so not to many things they got done loading me by 1:30, told me they drive is up to 4hours. Here it comes, been calling to see when will they arrive no answer, finally they call me to say they will be here by 11pm, around 10pm they called me to tell me they won’t be here till 1:30am, they didn’t show up till 3am to unload me. It’s almost 6am and they finally finished. This is a crime, I have never heard of anything this crazy. So who ever owns this company clearly doesn’t care and to my girl Linsey, I don’t know how you sleep at night knowing that all the people here are experiencing the worst moves of their lives.

  15. Delivery takes forever, no communication

    They picked up our stuff in the 27th of March. I’m sitting at home on the 15th of April still waiting on my stuff even though my fiancé was told it would be here April 1st. If I had the option I would drive from Colorado to PlanoTX where our stuff has been stored and pick it up myself!! This is ridiculous and the customer service is terrible. Avoid at all costs
