  1. Lost all my belongings in a FIRE.

Ired GeoVanLines back in November 2019 to move my belongings from Dallas, TX to Alabama. The sales person who booked me (Shannon) informed me that they did not outsource to other companies and made it seem like an easy and reasonably priced process.

I paid the initial deposit as well as the amount paid for the movers to come pick up my items which totaled to be over $1,000. I was scheduled to pay the rest when they arrived with my items. A few days later after I received notification that my belongings were on the way I stopped hearing from anyone. After making calls and getting a run around I ended up getting through to the driver’s manager who works for a moving company called Precise. I was not informed that GeoVanLines outsourced and hired another moving company to handle my belongings. Unfortunately the moving truck holding my belongings have caught FIRE and everything is a loss. It has been nothing but a run around with GeoVanLines about getting my $1,500 deposit back. Because they paid Precise (without my knowledge) they stated that they do not owe me. They keep telling me to contact Precise and I have never hired this company to handle my belongings so they are not returning my calls. GeoVanLines did not even show any sincerity or apologize for the loss of my belongings. I am still in the process of the insurance claim and this has been going on for 7 months now. I HIGHLY recommend to NOT hire GeoVanLines for your moving services. The fire may have not been their fault but their refusal to refund my deposit for a service that has not been fulfilled or did not even bother contacting me when my belongings caught on fire is enough to explain why you should not do any business with them.

  2. Do Not Use Geo Van Lines - Avoid.

I wish I had read reviews before hiring but was in a hurry due to job loss. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! A Complete Absolute Nightmare. They quoted $1500 for a ONE ROOM STUIDIO!! We sold 1 LG TV and the LARGE BUREAU prior to move that was in $1500 quote and yet when arrived charged over $200 more for 2 stools and a couple boxes way smaller than Bureau. We had u-haul and movers lined up on both ends for $600 total. Thought I was helping her with Moving CO. NOT WITH GEO VAN LINES. Called for del time NO response. Texted NO response. They finally get here today TEN days later claiming they can't come up my driveway. Listen I have lived here 32 yrs. Have a 50' RV, several trailers that we come up with all the time and NOT an issue. EVER!! How do they think I furnished a 4BR home? Carrying it up driveway??. COMPLETE JOKE. They just wanted to CHARGE MORE again for long haul to carry up. My daughter got her F250 Super Duty and brought ALL the stuff up and the 2 workers who couldn't back up a truck if their life depended on it. I have had MANY moving trucks here and never took them 5 minutes to back up and WAY larger than this RENT A TRUCK they came in. After my daughter drives down and brings everything up from the truck they tell us CHARGING for the stairs inside my front DOOR. I was told by SHANNON there was NO CHARGE for my interior stairs. That was for APT exterior stairs. THEY LIE.. They said NO I had to pay another $200 for stairs and her driving everything up the driveway herself. They left half the stuff downstairs that we now have to get another mover to bring up. DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS AT ANY COST. They add on anything they want once they have your furniture!!. Charged us long haul up driveway when MY DAUGHTER brought it all up with her truck and for stairs SHANNON told me were included. COST $2000 to move a ONE ROOM STUDIO that we received 10 days later with 2 guys that couldn't back up a truck to save their lives.

  3. Shady company.

Don't use this company. I used them for a move from Dallas to Salt Lake City. I was originally quoted competitively, of course.. A week later, I'm given another call by the company. I add some things, but I remove some things from my list as well, and somehow, they come up with a quote $200 greater than the original, 3 days away from my move date. I get very upset, and the guy on the phone lowers it back down to the original quote, plus $100 of packaging and stair fees. The day of the move, the quote is $78 higher than I was promised over the phone, but of course, it's too late for me to do anything about it on THE DAY of the move, geand Shanon, the office admin, is no help.

Geo Van Lines contracts Supreme Van Lines to deliver my stuff for the second half of the move. I encounter Doron Viknan, the owner of the company. He was the driver, and was VERY unpleasant and extremely shady. He tacks on a $75 "long carry fee" once he arrives. Before he arrives, he tells me he's adding a $75 stair fee. I inform him it's already included in my quote, and he rudely assures me he will check this with his office.. Unnecessary. Apparently he confirmed it was added, in which case, he tacks on the BS "long carry" fee. I'm moving into an apartment unit.. I don't know of many apartment move situations that aren't somewhat "long carry." A couple of my boxes were stacked upside-down, including a box of fragile kitchenware, which was clearly marked, my steel trashcan was dented, and my bookcase was damaged. Choose ANYONE besides Geo Van Lines and especially stay away from Supreme Van Lines. Worst move experience EVER, and I've used a number of moving companies.

  4. Avoid At All Cost.

If you need to move - us anybody else. Worst company that I have ever experienced. Day of schedule pickup, truck never showed. Call the dispatcher and finally got the driver who state he could meet us after 9:00 PM. The schedule pick up was for 10 AM. Had to go back an meet them at 9 AM the next day. The first thing from the drive was challenging what was being picked up and wanting more money. Delivery was schedule for 3 weeks later - finally got it 5 weeks later. Five items were missing. Found (1) missing item and took another (4) weeks to arrive. Driver dropped the item off even though we were not there to receive it. As unresponsive and non-caring of a company as one would never imagine. Avoid GeoVan Lines at all cost. They are not worth the aggravation nor the loss of your items.

  5. Worst experience ever!

    STAY AWAY FROM UNPROFESSIONAL PEOPLE!
It was a very appealing initial experience, plenty of support, promising flexibility and high quality service.. The packers were great, but the Administration "disappeared" after loading the truck, not even responding and honoring commitments related with the delivery. I learned they hired a 3rd party company (Penske) to move my stuff, with a low Customer Service orientation.. We received few items broken and requested to pay cash something that was from the beginning agreed to be paid with CC.
    Lesson learned!

** I noticed ALL reviews from Google disappeared (most of them were bad reviews!).

  6. Their google rating are all gone now? Horrible company.

First of all, I'm just copying the google rating I left for them, that they somehow got erased, along with all other google ratings.
I used this company back in June and haven’t spoken up until now. I was given an estimate on my move. But was told it would be lower, that they overestimated and that they would refund me the difference once the unloading of the truck was done. I could either pay by cash or credit. I chose cash because I didn’t want to wait for a refund. I put down a down payment and waited for moving day. Also, I was told that if I moved more things to the front of the house, it would make their job faster and save us money. So myself (a 40 year old female with fibromyalgia and my daughter did so). The job went pretty fast. When it came time to pay I was asked by the moving truck associate to pay the total estimated amount minus the deposit. I was in a total panic from moving and especially when he said that. I paid him and only had enough cash in my pocket to tip each of the guys $5. I was beside myself. I signed the receipt showing “they got everything out of the truck”. Later I noticed the receipt I signed was the payment receipt also and it said I paid $300 less than what I had actually paid and he did not fill in the time slots on purpose. We got suspicious so we all compiled our texts and pictures of us leaving and noted the time stamps on them and realized it only took 2 hours to load and unload and they got the cash for 5 hours. I have two witnesses over the age of 18 and the badly filled in and inaccurate receipt copy. They totally took advantage of me and ripped me off. I called the office and complained and he said it was impossible that it only took as long as it did according to me (essentially calling me a liar) and put me on hold and said someone else would be getting back to me. Of course they did not. TOTAL RIPOFF STAY AWAY.

  7. Worst Moving Company.

Please do not use the company, as they will steal your items and get upset with you when things are missing. All the people whom has used this company, we need to start a law sue against this company. I am currently working with an attorney for this claim.

When the movers picked up my items from Irving TX the inventory reads as followed: 3-piece sofa sectional 5-chairs 1-table 1-TV, I had to purchase a box 2-dressers 1-headboard (including 2-side rails) 1-foot board 1 box spring 1-mattress 1-night stand -I am missing a pair of shoes that were still in the box. I am missing the night stand. I am missing the middle piece to my 3 piece sectional. I am missing the side rails that wholes my bed together. I have been communicating with Enrrique (Rick) Lopez; Dispatch Manager: 972-763-6632, whom took my call on Monday 09/23/2019. He stated that he will check the warehouse and w/the drivers whom delivered my items. No call back. On Tuesday 09/24/19, I called Rick's Mang. Jake, whom appeared to be upset that some of my items were missing. Jake did a conference call w/Rick. Rick stated no items found in warehouse. Jake informed Rick to call the drivers and to move on this now. Jake stated this is the 3rd person this month that has had items come up missing. Jake wanted to know if photos were sent, me and Rick stated yes. No call back. No call back on Wed. Thursday, I called Rick. No answer. I decided to call Jack, no answer and voicemail is full. I called the main office and spoke w/a young lady, when asked to speak w/ Jake, she became rude. I disconnected the call. Rick called me back. Rick stated he is busy and have not had the time to contact the driver and he is in and out of the office. I sent him a text message to inform I expect to hear from someone. Rick texted back and he understand and to bear with him. As soon as he get to the office he will reach out to me. No call. I called him back, he stated give him a few more days, as he is working outside of the office and moving furniture. At this point I feel like I will not get a respond. This is the reason for my complaint. I really would love to have my items back in my possession.

Now Jake is upset and trying to offer me $500. No deal.

  8. If you were wronged by them and want to file a class actioin lawsuit.

Hey if you were wronged by this company and want to file a class action lawsuit send me an email at razor196355@gmail.com and we will add you to the lawsuit.

We were wronged by them as much as you were so nothing is too small. Be sure to send me the loss that you had and we will shut this company down so they cannot hurt anyone else.

The management are even worse than the phone employees so I can imagine you were not treated right. Please lets get this going and sew them for all our money back.

  9. Destroyed all my belongings in exchange for $1400. They are a joke.

DO NOT USE THEM. They are an awful company. Got all of my furniture destroyed from the move from Dallas to Houston on 7/8/19. Driver was involved in a car accident which destroyed my entire belongings. Rick Lopez from the company assured me they have insurance to cover accidents like this so I should not worry. They were very uncooperative and pretty much I had to nag them to give me information about their insurance. Fast forward today, I have been fighting with them and insurance company for 3 months now, only to find out they will reimburse $1400 for all of the damage which exceeded $60000 dollars. I still have the broken furniture sitting at the back yard. Their cargo insurance will not reimburse anything although it was their employee's fault. Why? Because the driver was not insured!! Their driver is not insured with any insurance so pretty much you will get reimbursed 60 cents per 1lb. Thank God the driver didn't die but pretty much they are neglecting their employee and the customer!! DO NOT USE THEM.

  10. Don't use this company!

They never showed up at the designated day/time(9/13/19/6:00pm) when they agreed to and understood that they had to be there on the critical date/time contracted. They also never called to say they were not going to make it. Complete failures at several points of contact inside this company. One star is too high of a rating! After talking to the manager the following day, we received a refund but that's of little consequence at this point.

    Pick another moving company!

  11. Stolen my almost all valuable items..

I choose Geo Vanlines without going through review. after I booked my shipment I found every single review is true..they charge more. They delivers many weeks late than commited date. They took our luggage on hostage and told us to buy item as they may not going to reach us..finally after delivery, lots of items are stolen and many bags missing from Inventory list.I think They are stealing items and selling it on used item selling website to get ?..I am filling case to save others to get trapped..

  12. This isn’t a moving company. It’s a trucking company.

Please, never use this company. This is the first time I’ve used a moving company and my dad chose these guys (moving for grad school).
They told us they’d pickup my furniture on a Thursday between 4-6pm. At 8pm, they told us they would have to come first thing in the morning the next day at 8am. At 10:30am they finally showed up.
While packing up the stuff, they tried to double our price from $1600 to $3200. My dad worked them down to $2400 which was still outrageous for what I had.
They told us a bunch of trucks were going in the direction of our move that next week so my stuff should get there the weekend I was supposed to get there. I got my stuff a week and a half after the day I put down.
My dad told them more than 10 times that I needed them to put the bed together and my glass kitchen table put together. When the movers got here, they said they were never told to put anything together and didn’t bring any tools to do it.
As my dad said “this isn’t a moving company this is a trucking company.” I can’t believe these guys are still in business if they treat customers this way. This is a total scam and should be dissolved for treating people this way.

  13. Horrible experience.

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had with a moving company. There are so many lies and unfulfilled promises. I suggest you believe the bad reviews they have. We asked Shannon about the reviews and she assured us none of that would happen to us, well guess what it all happened!! We were moving from Florida to Texas, already stressful and expensive. Jack promised a 26 foot truck would pick us up and take our things straight to Geo Van Lines storage. They would store our things as needed and deliver to Houston. And a half payment would be made when our belongings arrive to Storage. Jack promised they would not sell our move. So here’s what really happened, an 18 wheeler shows up, from a company we never heard of, loads our things and for 3 weeks and 1 day we didn’t know where our possessions were.Cross Country movers picked up our belongings and then the threatening phone calls started. It was someone demanding payment or our things would be returned to our Florida home. I was trying to reach help from Geo Van Lines but they refused to call me back. The nightmare continued right until delivery, which was a no show for 2 days. When they finally showed up our boxes were crushed and wet. And the worst part our couch, bed and several boxes are missing . And again they are not returning our calls. Please head our warming, do not trust anything they tell you!!

  14. Horrendous and completely unprofessional. Stay away!

These people are con artists. Flat out. Then, they will have the audacity of telling YOU that *you* are the one trying to scam THEM when you call them out on their scam!

I hired Geo Van Lines for an out of state move from Texas to Maine. After turning down another company's offer after they came out to do an in-home estimate. I gave my inventory list and the previous estimate of cubic footage to Geo, who told me they could do it for less and offered discount after discount to bring the price down to my budget. I finally agreed and they sent me the binding estimate to sign. I signed and sent it back along with a deposit.

The date of the move (of which they had over a month to schedule) they were late. They did not keep me updated as to when they'd arrive. I had to keep calling and checking in with them. After they did finally show up, they never contacted me. After they picked up my items and took them back to their storage facility, they never contacted me.

Only AFTER I asked them if they picked up my items, did they proceed to send me a bill telling me they're now going to charge me nearly 700 *more* for "overages" on space.

Then I get another "agreement" to sign with a different charge of $175 an hour for labor and $600 for fuel and storage (from Plano to Austin?! Are you kidding me! I drove halfway across the country from TExas to Maine for less than that!) So no, I didn't agree.

Then they send another inventory list with items I didn't have.

It all just started getting *really* shady and I refused to sign anything further. They then started threatening me with throwing out my belongings if I didn't agree to their extortion.

I filed claims with the BBB and the local Plano non-emergency police. Even though I know it's a civil matter, the fact that reports are filed along with all these negative previous reviews will only strengthen my case in court that this company is a scam, and conducts illegal and unethical practices.

They can't stand by their word, so they keep changing their word to their benefit.

  15. Terrible company.

Geo Vanlines beat and banged our house up and refused to pay for it. Hired people off Craig's list to move our stuff in. We still have not had all our furniture delivered two weeks later. Most shady group I have ever worked with. Terrible experience. Do not recommend this company. Stay away.
