  1. STOP Hiring this company, they are rip off.

I had the worst experience dealing with the Company. Initially I inquired about the quote and when they called me with the quote, I asked them about the bad reviews, I was informed and convinced that they are all fake and they are professionals so I ended up hiring them a month in advance to move from stuff from Edmonton to Ontario. I was told 10-15 business days initially and when they charged me $200 deposit, which was non-refundable as well, and sent me an email the delivery time frame was mentioned 15-20 days. I called them 2 weeks ago about the pick up schedule and time frame for June 25, I was told that they will call me on June 22 due to the weekend.

I called them 4 times on Friday after 1 pm because I did not get a call, I was told that they will call me before the end of their business hrs. I waited all day but there was no call from anyone from their office. Finally, I emailed Gabreila and informed her that I have to leave on June 25th and I didn't get any call for the time frame as I was informed that they will give me time frame for pick ONLY on June 22.

Today, June 23, I called them again at 0911, 0958, 1030 and 1130 and no one answered the my calls nor I got the response for my email. I was stuck in the middle as there was no communication so I had to call another moving company around 1 pm and fortunately they agreed to move my stuff on Monday with a short notice, I had no choice to make arrangements to make sure my stuff leaves on time because I have to vacant the house on the same day.

Later at 0258 pm, Gabriela responded back to my email, (btw office is closed on Saturday) informing about the time frame for pick up on Monday and got a call from the driver at 3 pm.

I had booked another moving company already at that time. I feel that it was totally unprofessional and no communication from them which put me in the situation to hire another company and lose $200 deposit.

Please read the reviews below, I made a mistake and should have read the reviews. They are rip off and I believe that's how they make money by charging deposit and then you get stuck. Worst experience with them. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY.

  2. Very Good Company Really Happy.

I really don't enjoy moving but Real Canada made it as painless as possible. I've never worked with a company that provides a free estimate and it was a great experience. I met with Eric who came out the week prior to my move. He was super nice and gave me the estimate later that day.I paid exactly what he told me don estimation date.
I really can't say enough about how impressed I am with his company's service.

  3. Received Very Good Service.

The movers did a great job, they arrived on time. They took very good care of our belongs, when they delivered everything they even put the items in the basement and garage back on the shelves where they were before. Very good rate, affordable. I highly recommend the company and them.

  4. Awful.

Underestimated pickup and delivery times. Lack of care for our items (bouncing the dolly down the stairs, dropping boxes, several damages to furniture, many broken dishes). Very poor, aka non-existent customer service. Unsafe feeling dealing with the delivery drivers after we had a payment dispute when the company asked us to pay nearly double their estimate. Unreasonable, unhelpful, unapologetic. I terribly regret using this company.

  5. Absolutely Awful!

Where to start? My experience with Real Canada Wide Moving was awful! I hope this review will prevent others from being completely taken by this company. I was moving from BC to Alberta, was give a quote from 1000lbs at $680 to 2000lbs at $830. I booked them for Dec.1 2017. The driver called me a full week early asking to pick up my furniture. Of course not expecting this I was not ready and still working. Then on Nov.30/2017 I was supposed to receive a call to confirm pick up for the next day (Dec.1). I waited until the end of the day and gave them a call, they told me that because I wasn't ready the weekend before that my furniture was rescheduled for Dec.2 pick up. Ok, not the end of the world but a heads up would have been nice? They show up, everything goes well and they take all of my furniture and boxes. Then a few weeks later I get my final bill which was 1820lbs and the charge was for $1110! They charged me $100 to go up 5 stairs! I eventually got that charge removed but could not understand why my bill was $1000 for 1820lbs when my quote for 2000lbs was $830. I was told that is their pay structure?! Then I set up delievery for my belongings, they showed up looking as if my boxes were thrown down the stairs, dishes inside were broken (they were packed properly), they destroyed my dresser, kitchen table, one of the chairs for the kitchen table, a night stand, my stand-up fan and then I realized my summer tires for my truck never got delivered! They also delivered a few items that did not belong to me. It took me 2 weeks of asking them to pick up the items that did not belong to me when I finally drove them to their warehouse on my own time. Seeing inside their warehouse made me understand why so much of my furniture was ruined!! it looked as if they literally just shove and pile peoples things as tight as they can in there. I made a claim for all of the damage and my missing tires, this is about $3000 in loss for me and they paid me $150 and told me my tires can't be found. They told me that they calculated my loss at $300 and the deductible is $350, so I was basically owed -$50, but to "keep me happy" they sent $150. It has been nothing but a nightmare. I now have to replace so many things and go spend $600-$800 on a new set of tires which I had owned. Please choose another company to move your belongings. I would hate to see this happen to anyone else.

  6. Worst moving experience of my life.

I would strongly urge those looking for movers to pass by this one. I have moved a grande total of 8 times throughout Canada, and hands down this has been the worst experience I've ever had moving. Not only were the office staff incredibly rude; but they consistently fell short in honesty, transparency, and common courtesy.

The pick up went wonderfully. And it was all downhill from there..

I was told 6 separate delivery days/times. Given excuses such as it was "my fault" for having poor availability (I was free for a 10 day window where the delivery should have taken place), the truck broke down, poor driving conditions, road too narrow to deliver on, etc. Which one was true? Who knows, anyone who told me they would return my call never did.. So when I called them back I was told such gems as "I'm not a magical fairy that can just make your stuff appear whenever you want it".. Aside from her condescending tone & use of language, isn't that why I am paying you?

Once I received confirmation that my delivery was in the province, I then had the pleasure of being bullied and belittled by their driver who threatened to drop my stuff off at a "warehouse" for my husband and I to "figure it out". He proceeded to tell me "I'm done talking to you", and hung up on me.

  7. Super unhappy with my service.

Do not hire this company, they're absolutely awful. They were a day late and didn't bother to tell me. And then there was a surprise extra $100 fee. Plus, the movers were rude.
One star because my contact at the main office was decent.

  8. Good at first, bad at the end.

First let me add my ID as not to get a reply that I am not a Customer. Client ID 7259. Move from Edmonton AB to Kingston ON, June 28 2017. Here is why I am giving you two stars only and will not use your service again, happy beginning, not a good ending.
Here are some advices to other customers:
    - Number all your boxes yourself, write your full name and phone number if you have to, the sticking numbers they use get all messed up when received, you may receive other customers packages.
    - Either get the extra insurance and pay more or don't go with them as there is a big chance they will lose your stuff, seems they have a mis-coordinated storage facility.
    - When contacting the customer service, call again the next day to make sure your request has been entered into the system, lot get missed.
    - Request a re-weighting if you feel something is odd with the number they gave you.
    - Make sure you solve all the problems BEFORE paying them.
    - Make sure they provide you with an invoice once payment is done.

    Now for the rating:
1- One star for picking the items on time, although subcontracted, but good team.
2- One star for dealing with Gabriella on the phone, good customer service.
3- Zero star for storage - Asked for 7 weeks storage as I work on a 2 weeks on/ 2 weeks off in Nunavut. Got laid off from work at week # 4, called before the 5th week is over and asked to change the delivery date as I am back home for good, checked after 6 days and the info wasn't entered in the system, they made me pay more for the extra 6 days of storage, provided all the back-up to prove that we discussed this issue, still I had to pay the extra, being laid off with no money didn't even soften their hearts. Lesson learned: Do not talk to any male who answers the phone and send an email as to have a written proof to force their hand.
4- One star for good delivery speed once the payment was done.
5- Zero star for the time of delivery, expected at noon, delivered at 8pm.
6- Minus one star for losing 6 of our package including a very expensive mountain board and pair of skis, although my full name, my cell number and "Kingston ON" is written on each of our packages.
7- One star for Tony (From claim department) for going beyond the contract and waiving the deductible $350 insurance and giving me back a little refund although I have chosen the 60cent insurance coverage only, that refund covered only the skis, they had all the legal right not to pay me anything the same way I had the right to expect all my goods to be delivered..
8 - Minus one star for Tony for inventing excuses as not to return the extra storage payment then not responding to the provided facts.
9 - Minus one star for not providing an invoice to date, although requested on many occasions.
10- Minus one star for hiding the extra paid storage fees and putting only the basic amount on the moving contract - Evading tax?
11 - Minus one star for not answering my emails and making up excuses as to evade paying.

As I have been following this matter for the past 4 months and got nowhere with them, my next step is to contact the CRA to check on the invoice issue.

  9. Very Good Service, I like it.

I read some review here, I respect all of them. My experience with this company is really good. Here is my story: I filled up online form and asked quote from Jasper to Edmonton Alberta. I got lots of phone call s and e-mails. I checked many companies and I booked one of them. Basically when I searched, I didn't find any bad review about that company, it looks to good to me. Anyway, they took my deposit. I have 12000 lbs shipment. After I booked, I called them and tried to ask couple questions? Guess what? Nobody answer my phone calls, and it says mail box full. I tried 3 days , no answer, sent them e-mail, no answer. I checked their website, they are in Toronto and basically one of the Toronto company. Even they don't have an office in Alberta. They book, take your deposit, disappear. 2 days before my pick up date, I found local Alberta company Real Canada Wide Moving. I booked with them, they came for pick up Sep.08th at 9.45 am. driver and 2 helpers. Except driver other 2 guys they don't speak good English, but they are hard worker. They packed and loaded truck very fast, and they finished my pick up 6.30 pm. I really got surprise, how they did good job during my pick up. Next day Sep.09th at 11.30 am they showed up my Edmonton home. By the way, during my pick up I called Real Canada office, they all the time open their phone and answered my questions, good communication, I like it. They finished my delivery around 3.30 pm. They did very good job, and I'm also happy their services as well. My experience is, go with Local Alberta company, at least you can go see their office, or talk with them face to face, much better. If I move again definitely I will use them again.

  10. STOP, don't call this RealCanadaWideMoving.

    STOP, STOP, STOP
If you want to make a contract with Real Canada Wide Moving Company, you better read my story and if you still want to choose this company because of the their cheap quote, then you need to see a psychiatrist. Go ahead and put yourself in trouble.
First of all, this company does not allow you to talk with a person in the claim department over phone, if the claim department exists at all. Done. I believe, this is enough reason to forget this company.
However, I assume you would like to know what happened to me, so I continue my story.
    Chapter One: Quote, April 27th
I had to move in one week because of a family issue, so I did not have time read reviews and selected this company based on their good price and professional manner of its agent, later it turned out that I was wrong about both. The princess G, “her name starts with G”, is nice and kind before you pay the deposit. She does not provide you the detail of the moving process. Their policy is that, they don't tell you anything unless you ask.
I got the quote of approximately $2500 for a two bedroom apartment. I live with my wife and we are both students, so you can guess we didn't have too much stuff for moving. I asked for insurance, and the princess G told me that my stuff is covered, however she did not tell me that insurance pays $0.60 per pound. Basically, in their point of view your stuff worth as much as bananas or onions, if not less. She frequently used the term “ don’t worry, we are professional”, now I can tell it is the most false statement to describe this company.
    Chapter Two: Packing May 1st
I got the packing service, because I did not want to have any trouble later with insurance, because they don’t take responsibility unless they do the packing. In the day of packing, two workers came to my apartment with crappy boxes. I think it was their first moving experience. I bet they never did their own moving. Short story, I ended up asking them to go and buy some boxes, for which the company charged me for premium packaging without telling me. They did not have special boxes for packing TV, clothes, picture frames and not enough paper for kitchen stuff. As I mentioned before, your stuff to their eyes looks like bananas and onions. So your $300 watch would worth 10 cent, if you got the steel band, and your 4k curved TV would worth $15, which is not enough to even recycle the broken one.
    Chapter three: Delivery, July 5th
After having a terrible day, I went for a one month vacation. When I got to the destination, I called the princess G to set a delivery date. She told me they can not proceed unless I pay the full balance. When I got the bill, I was shocked. Nothing has ever surprised me with a bill like that, even crazy driving tickets. The total was approximately, $4500!! What the heck, I called princess G hoping that she can explain it to me. The only conclusion that I made from my call was that the proper name for princess G would be monster G. She told me that the weight of my stuff was over 4000 lbs, then I said why in the initial quote it was estimated 2500lbs. Her answer was hilarious, the Monster G said “ stuff gets some weights because Ontario is more humid than Alberta”. You can guess how angry I was when a stupid person like MONSTER G provided some scientific nonsense reasons to a person who hold PhD in mechanical engineering. I had no choice to pay the bill because without that I could not even set the delivery date and I needed my stuff ASAP.
I apologize if you got bored from the story, but bear with me as you got the interesting part of the story. The first available spot for delivery was 5 days later the date I called, and they suggested morning spot, which means anytime between 9:00am to noon. In the day of delivery, I started calling the delivery patch from 11:00am to get update about my delivery. The guy on the phone said truck is on its way, but it stocks in a bad traffic in highway 401. At 1:00pm I called again and asked for the driver cellphone, at that point they told me that the truck is broken and my delivery was postponed to the next day. Oh my god, I had to have this nightmare for another day.
Next day came, and the truck showed up at 1:30pm. I just wanted to get my stuff and finish this torturing game. The first scene that I was looking at when the driver opened the gate was a crushed coffee table. It was crushed so bad that I felt sorry for its owner, and I did not realize that poor owner is me. If you may think I am exaggerating here is the photo of my coffee table. If you want to see the photo of damaged stuff please send me an email and I provide you more photos. The driver said, “don’t worry the insurance would pay for all damages”.
Chapter Four: Claim Process, August 20th
I called the MONSTER G to get information about the claim process. They asked me to send photos of damaged stuff to an email and wait for 4 to 6 weeks. I did it, and no one even confirmed that they received my email. Thanks god, I persisted the MONSTER G to send me an email confirming that they received my email. After one week of follow-up I got the email. No update after 6 weeks. I called the MONSTER G and she transferred me to another Monster Lady, she said I need to send the email again and wait another 4 to 6 weeks. I requested to talk to a supervisor in claim department over the phone, and the Monster Lady said, they don’t have any phone in the claim department. I think when an office, a section, or a division is opened in a company, the first thing that is assigned to it is a phone number. I figured out that the claim department is just an email that no one would read it unless you call them several times. So if you are in this situation, first of all it is so unfortunate; second, don’t waste your time as no one give a __ to your emails.
At that point, I informed them that I am recording our conversations over the phone and anything they say might be used against them in court. After which, the MONSTER G and Monster Lady accepted to connect me to the manager, who was very impolite and rude. Short story, one week later, I got an email from the claim department. The total process of claim took about 40 days. Below is a part of the email I received from the claim department:
“The insurance Real Canada Wide Moving carries is a basic standard liability. This insurance pays out at 60 cents per pound, with a $350 deductible, to be paid by the customer.
(The item you claim weights 450 lbs x0.60 =$270.00
    ($270.00 -$350.00 (insurance deductible) = -$80.00
It is always important for us to leave satisfied customers behind us and we do really want to resolve this issue for you, Even though your case is not entitled to receive any refund; we will send you $300.00 ($350 deductable waive) = $300.00 cheque. “
    The END

It was my responsibility to inform other customers about what might be waiting for them if they dial the phone number of this company. If you want to have a perfect terrible and disgusting memory from your moving the Real Canada Wide Moving is the best company to approach.
You see some 5 star reviews, which are fake and created by the company employees.
I want to clarify that I have not worked for any moving company and I have nothing to disclose. What I wrote was with my most honest and I am ready to present in court as a witness if it is required. If an employee, probably MONSTER G, from Real Canada Wide Moving commented on my review and called me a layer, please email me, and I will answer all your questions.
I noticed that they answered my review on the Homestars.com website, and instead of explaining their terrible service they accused me for being racist. OK, I am not going to discuss about their wrong statement because it is not the subject of my review. I wish they could explain their terrible service.
Good luck in your moving and don’t even think about the Real Canada Wide Moving (cheating) Company.

  11. AVOID this company.

In Aug 24, Nicole gave me few quotes for moving based on rate per pound:
    a)1000lb, $400 the first 500 lb and $0.33/lb after
    b) 2000lb @ $0.33/lb

They go by the 1000lb quote first as an estimate before the move. The final bill came down to 1780lb. As actual weight is much higher than the quote, I asked for adjustment. But the delivery guys were holding my items hostage unless I make full payment.

In our conversation with Nicole, I am under the impression that the way of calculating the final bill is open for change according to the actual weight. Nicole mentioned that she could have adjust the bill for me if I didn't pay.

Having my stuff in hostage, I had to pay and dispute this with the claim department afterward. They refuse to adjust and I felt that it was a malpractice to have double standard on charging customer.

    The following are my complains:

    1) If the consumers are charge based on weigh, the higher the weigh, the more expensive it is. With the current charge system, consumers are being penalized if the weigh is in between 1300-1999 lb, I.e. pay way higher than moving a 2000 lb cargo (see table)

    2) My items are held hostage so that consumer is forced to make full payment.

    3) I have reason to believe that the scaling is not right. The company has motivation to charge people at 1300-1999 lb as it is their "sweet spot'' (see table). There are also many complains on this company on BBB and homestars as they repeatedly said "they have honest mistake" on scaling when customer complained.

    4) I have broken/missing items from the delivery. They imposed a deductible on me, which I didn't know until after. Deductible is something between the insurance company and the insurance payer. It is not fair to transfer deductible to clients, otherwise customer lost a portion of the insurance protection. It is not fair for consumer to bear hidden cost.

  12. Excellent Crew,Very Good Service.

I moved with Real Canada Wide Moving Services from Calgary to Halifax, they did pretty good job for me.They picked it up on time and did delivery on time, nothing broken or missing.(except picture frame- they paid later on) I have 8500 lbs shipment and basically they did excellent job. I really appreciated Gabriela and their driver Dawit. Good people, good service. I like it very much.

  13. Horrible service.

The movers showed up a day early, I wasn't ready for the move for the move but changed my plans and accommodated their request. The movers charged me extra because I had glass coffee table (which was damaged upon delivery to my new apartment). They damaged my walls during the pick up of my furniture, I advised the company with no reply. I booked with this company because the dates for pick up and delivery were available. I expected a call a day prior to delivery so I called and I only got a message service. The day of delivery ( I had the elevator booked and advised the company on 2 separate occasions) I was on the phone most of the day trying to find out where my furniture was, finally spoke to someone and said it would be delivered 4 days later (so 4 more days of sleeping on an air mattress..lucky me) they quoted the contract saying if there was a break down they were well within their right to delay ..I was never informed of a breakdown therefore delay. They finally delivered my furniture and it was damaged, chips out of my wooden furniture, put tape directly on painted surfaces which when the tape was removed also tore off the paint, there was a big chip out of my glass coffee table which I paid extra to protect..DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Contact me if you would like pics.

  14. A Nightmare of a Company.

WARNING! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I moved from northern Alberta to the greater Toronto area in October, and this company was an absolute nightmare. The company LOST OVER $1000 WORTH OF MY STUFF in the move. The only item that was ever found was my guitar, which was only found when I sent a friend to the office in Edmonton to look around. The remainder of my missing items was over $800. After filing my claim, I had no follow up from the company and was calling regularly to ask about their progress. The claims department does not respond to phone calls and I would only get email responses after calling a couple of times and asking them to respond. When I finally did get a response from claims (this was 2 months after my move), Tony gave a haphazard weight for my missing items x $0.60 per pound minus the $350 deductible, and told me I would receive nothing for my claim. Eventually he offered me $100 for my trouble, and I was able to
eventually get $200 returned. The customer service I received from Tony was extremely rude, and he literally told me this was not his problem.

Additionally many of the boxes that did arrive were smashed
and broken. My quote stated that disassembly of large furniture was included, however the men that arrived adamantly denied this and did not bring a single tool. I waited all day for them to arrive on the day I was moving and got a call at 4pm saying they did not have enough space and would come in the morning. I was able to convince them to come because I was leaving the next day, and they
showed up with a half empty truck with more than enough space. I was informed that my things had arrived in town, but could not be delivered for another week, and
could only be delivered at one specific time.

TERRIBLE EXPEREINCE THAT I DO NOT WISH ON ANYONE ELSE. For the amount of money I ended up spending on this move I could have used the most expensive company out there. TRY ANY COMPANY BUT THIS ONE!

  15. Good Heart God Bless Them.

My sister moved with them from Edmonton,AB to Toronto,ON. She lost her job last summer in Alberta and she decided to go Toronto,ON. Unfortunately she didn't find any jobs in Toronto and she tried to come back to Edmonton. Same time, she spent all her savings during this stressful time, no job and her household goods stays moving company Toronto warehouse. She contacted moving company and explained her situation and she promised to them pay her balance monthly. Usually they never accepted this kind of offer but they accept and brought back her shipment in Edmonton warehouse. Still she doesn't have money and she bankrupt. She owes more $2000 to moving company. She was really hopeless and upset, no furniture nothing. Last week Real Canada Wide moving office manager Gabriela called her and gave her good news. Her boss willing to give my sister's shipment free and no any charge. Just he wants top help her because she is really tried to pay her balance, just she doesn't have any money. They did delivery last week Saturday and she was so happy. This is a miracle for us. I want to say GOD BLESS Real Canada Wide Moving and company owner.
