  1. Run don't use them

If I can give them 0 stars I will. After taking 1k deposit non refundable, they didn't care about the move. Movers came and wanted cash. Silver start asked to get 2 certified check, one for pick up to be handed to the movers and the second one at deliver. The method of payment was wrong and SSM didn't care or tried to rectify their mistake. So we had to give movers personal checks. Then they said if they are driving straight same day, it will 1k extra. Eventhoug my contact said delivery under 500 miles includes 0 to 6 days. We were under 300 miles. Then it changed to they will deliver on Monday because they needed to unload my stuff from the truck the next day, store my furniture, use the truck for another job then load it again and deliver it to us. Short story. DO NOT USE SILVER STAR MOVERS. RUN. the move was not cheap either. We are stuck with it. The movers were nice but their managers and SSM were awful. Will see when I will get my furniture on Monday.

  2. Scam, Not trust worthy.

Use multiple sales tactics to get you to put down a deposit and then your locked. They showed up right before we had to vacate our house so we were unable to hire another moving company. We had listed every single piece of furniture in the house on the quote, but they low balled the space so much that the outsourced movers that showed up didn't have enough space on the truck they brought. On top of all that, the price ended up being 3x the quote. Liars, scams, and poor business ethics. DO NOT HIRE!

  3. Awful company, Lied to gain my business.

I hired this company to move me from Georgia to Florida. They hire a 3rd party company out of Florida to conduct my relocation. After talking to a representative on the phone I was promise that my items would arrive to my new residence two days after my pickup. That being said the moving company was late to my first appointment, which made me question their professionalism. This was the tip on the iceberg..They did not have record that I paid for a full moving services, so upon walking in the door my cost went up 1k, they started nickel and diamond me for everything at this point. I purchased 20 large boxes that the movers refused to use, they said it would take to long for them to pack. So Naturally I was upcharged for the larger boxes. From her I would say the packing portion went fairly smooth. Once they finished up and were leaving I was assured that I would receive a call the following day to schedule my delivery.

The following day I received no calls, but I did call them around 10 times with no luck. I then flew to my new residence the following morning believing that my items would arrive that afternoon. Unfortunately this company cannot be trusted and obviously lied to me to gain my business. Since that day i've been calling regularly trying to get an update on my delivery and have had no luck. They have refused to call me back and demanded I pay even more money before releasing my items to be put on a truck to move. So far they have had my items for over a week and completely failed to communicate.

I have been dealing with a "customer service" rep named Maynet for the majority of the time. She has taken multiple messages, none of which have been returned. She is truley clueless on how to communicate with frustrated customers, she's dismissive, rude and basically says look at your contract. She obviously hates her job.I've left multiple messages for Mona, Astrid and Eli (who call me back once and actually spoke to me like a decent human). This business and its staff cannot be trusted and I will continue to update this review as it plays out.

Buyer beware, this company cannot be trusted and holds your items hostage.. I don't understand how they are in business. You will regret giving Trans Van your business.

  4. The most awful experience.

They deserve No star. The worst experience. I wish I had read all these reviews before. Literally I went through the same things, from the pickup to storage, and delivery. I can't even go to details. They are one big fraud company. Everything was wrong from the start and delivery day was the worst day. All they do great is charging you, way over price. they send other companies to your house, that they do a very awful sloppy packaging, breaking whatever you have, then store everything in some other state than they tell and the worst delivery process. No way you can contact them when you need help and if you found someone on the phone (days after the fact), they are just so awfully rude accusing you of lying from the first word you say, for all your damages and broken furniture they say you have to contact the truck company and follow the matter yourself!?!?! like WTH, did I even know that there are other companies involved, then I realized why the drivers were so awful and delivery and pickup was so messed up, because nobody is in charge. They just want your money and in return, they will ruin your life schedule, destroy your belongings and make you feel helpless.

  5. Complete Fraud!!

All you have to do is look at their BBB rating and all the reviews on multiple sites! I was a victim as well.

I am reaching out to all victims of this fraudulent company to establish a class action lawsuit. Can't sit here and continue reading of all the innocent people that lost their hard-earned money to these scum bags.

  6. Do use this company.

Very unreliable and do not do the job they are suppose to and at the last minute they cancel. You want to talk about put a person in a bad spot, this company will. This company is changing it's name and look out for them with a different front. They are very fraudulent and should be looked into.

  7. Rip off movers.

Warning! Please avoid Silverstar Moving company! This is a predatory and bait and switch company! The only good thing you will experience here is the sales pitch. It’s really good but they simply don’t deliver on any of it. Please use a more established company as you will only give Silverstar money to hire cut rate and low quality movers. I can’t describe the absolutely horrible service experienced with Silver Star Moving Group. The lack of coordination on their part resulted in our goods being split between two low end movers that lost, broke, ripped, tore, and generally destroyed many cherished items. After a delay of almost 3 months - our last items arrived (with several cherished items missing) many pieces were destroyed. All the while - Silverstar has refused to assist in any way. Please learn from my mistake - avoid this low quality company and go with Allied, Mayflower, or any traditional company. You will ultimately pay much more in time, money, and pain if you don’t.

  8. Worst EXPERIENCE EVER!! Stay away!

FAIR WARNING: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!

It all started at pick up. They kept on telling me that they would pick it up one day and cancelling. They cancel for over a week until I had to leave the state. First lesson: if they cancel on you, cancel the order. You should be there to see your stuff get shipped out. Before I left, I asked if they had everything they needed to pick it up several times and the answer was always yes. By the time they came to pick it up, more than a week later than they told me they would, they informed me that they needed a form signed by me to pick up my stuff however, I was already two states away. They are extremely unaware and not knowledgeable about the industry and what they are doing.

I made sure to leave all the items as they requested including a mattress protector which they told me they would put in the mattress but, as you will hear eventually, they didn't.

Drop off was a much worse nightmare. I was told that my stuff was being shipped to the state where I was going to and learned a month later that my items were shipped to a completely different state. By the time I requested them to deliver my items, it took me almost 3 weeks to get a hold of them, and to have someone on the phone that could guarantee me they actually had my stuff. But for 3 weeks nobody knew how to tell me where my items were.

Finally they tell me that my stuff was in Nevada and not where it was supposed to be and that you would take extra two weeks for them to deliver. Throughout this whole process, customer service is virtually unreachable, they will never answer or they'll never have answers if they do end up picking up the phone.

Today they finally delivered my stuff and after a lot of arrangements with the driver, which customer service won't do for you, you have yet to arrange your pick up basically yourself with your driver. After much of back and forth with the driver, they finally delivered my stuff with some items completely ruined. My mattress is black, it can go straight to the trash, because they fail to use the mattress protector I provided them. When I call back to the person that somi the contract he simply transfer me to a dead end number.

I will update this review after I make my claim but for now, avoid this company like hell. They will do what it takes for you to sign a contract and won't honor their words and there won't be any customer service after that. You better off with another company.

  9. Very Inaccurate Quote.

This isn't actually a moving company, its a broker that hires a moving company for you. They are changing their name to All Pro Moving Co., so look out for that name too. The original quote I was given for my move was 3700. After final inventory that included a few more boxes than I anticipated, they bumped it up to 4700 two days before my scheduled pick up. When everything was loaded on the truck, the final number was 6300!! After spending an hour arguing with the driver and going over numbers, they reduced it to 5900 and acted like they were doing me a favor. It would have only costed 3000 to rent and drive a truck AND hire help to load and unload. I though the extra 700 would be worth not having to drive a truck across the country. The bait and switched me and I am furious. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE SHADY PEOPLE.

  10. Beware read this before you pay!

So here is how it works. Very good and attentive at the beginning. All done through phone and email. No one comes to your house (first mistake)!! You get a fair competitive offer and you accept. Then at the last minute literally a couple days before your scheduled. You get the phone asking for a box count. Yep you guessed it! The price goes up! In our case it over doubled! From 7k to over 18k. Which I believe the only reason it wasn't more is because I flipped out on the driver when he told me he thought it would be over 24k. Of course he wanted till they were have loaded to bring that up.At this point you have no options. New job is lined up. House is sold. Your committed. You have to go! So you dip into your savings and move on. About this time is when you figure out. The trucking is not part of Silver Star at all. Then for your confidence they seal the trailer in front of you and hand you some tags. Well funny how only 2/3 of your stuff that was loaded in that sealed trailer shows up. The other 1/3 sits 900 miles away in another state that was not even on the way?? Then comes the damages. It was very obvious the truckers / movers did not care at all! And full service? Right!! They piled half if it in the front yard and refused to put it where we wanted it, like we were told would happen. Then comes the cumbersome process of filing the insurance claim. Once you jump through all the hoops and (they acknowledge) they have received the claim. They have 45 days to respond. 45 days passed and you contact them. Soon arrived the insulting offer! Like less then 1/10 of what the damages we s are. You do have the right to do as pure it. Guess what? Yep, you guessed it. The 45 day ticket starts over again! We have time so we will wait for the next insulting offer! This is now about principle. Likely we will end spending more money to fight them. If nothing else. It will escalate and become more and more visible on all the media's. More people will stand up and join the fight with me. There are a lot of Attorneys out there always looking for a possible class action suit. So what say you people. Want to join the fight? Never mind you may have already accepted the insulting offer. You never know what might happen. Let's do this!

  11. Silver Star Moving - FRAUD.

This "company" is not a real company, they do not have real office space, they do not contract with truckers who actually provide the service.

They routinely book moving schedules with firms that went of business.

They refuse to provide refunds for work never completed, which it never will be, the entire transaction is fraud from the start.

  12. Ridiculous Moving Experience!

Here is the entire story and up to you to decide whether you want to deal with this company or not. Also, check the Better Business Bureau reviews, don't be tricked by the positive ones here (like I did). They are all fake.

On June 26, Silver Star moving company took our furniture from WA state, and said it'll take them 7 - 21 days to arrive to Silver Spring, MD according to Chris Newman. It took a month and 10 days until the furniture arrived. We call Chris, he is not being responsive to any of our emails or voice messages. Calling their Customer Service, Mark Lopez said that they gave our furniture to another moving company called Northwest Relocation - without our contest and without briefing us that they are just a broker and not a moving company. They said the furniture will be loaded from Portland in the weekend of July 27, and will take another 7 to 21 days to arrive. Calling Northwest Relocation, we have been getting contradicting messages every time we call about the status of our furniture delivery. The Customer Service "Vicki - extension 407" said the driver left from Portland on Sunday. Then after an hour, the driver called and said he is in North Carolina!! Two days later, he said he is in VA and will come on Thursday. We took a day off from work waiting for him, then at noon, we called him, he said he is back to North Carolina. We have been sleeping on an air mattress for over a month. Other than being overwhelmed with other expenses and purchases due to the delayed furniture delivery status.

When the furniture arrived, the office chair was broken, cups and plates, a statue - all broken. And the carpets filled/smell weed.
We submitted the insurance claim, and the reply time will take 15-90 days. The entire process has been so ridiculous.

  13. Sliver Star Moving is a Scam.

Dont know where to start but I will try and make it short, silver start moving group is a scam. please please don't put your self through the stress and, the cost . they are very dishonest and liars they told us it will cost 2,700 .we paid down $1,126.00 they were to call us 48 hours before the move I did not hear anything from Brandon when I finally text him he said we would have to pay $15.00 for each box they filled from the draws in our dresser. then he said we would have to pay 59 cents extra for each pound .of weight .no one called us the day before or the day of the move I had to keep calling the day of someone called and changed the time they would arrive . when they came they said we need to pay 8,000 we did not move and did not get a refund , this is the games they play . I spoke with Lisa and told her all the bad reviews I saw I wishes I had gone here before. people lets out this on face book they need to be held accountable for all the people the have robbed. I still did not get a refund but I wont stop until I do . I am going to contact the better business bureau LISA and brandon are scammers. BRANDO WILL SAY WHAT EVER HE THINK HE WANT TO HEAR AGAIN PLS BE CAREFUL ORDER NUMBER 79O8825.

  14. Stay Far, Far Away!

I had a very bad and frustrating experience. These folks are very smooth talkers and offer up everything you request but they do not deliver nor do they answer the phone on most occasions. They never return a call!
BEWARE - This is a brokerage firm that subcontracts your contract out to companies that are closer which sounds okay BUT my contract was subbed out to a company that has only 1 star and the worst reviews. They don't review who they are working with it seems.. as a result, my movers didn't meet the expectations while having a wreck enroute to my new house. I lost approx 95% of my household belongings. Here are the items they happened:1) first rep calls and states they can make the close deadline that I needed to meet and gave me all kinds of discounts and promises that he was available if any issues 2) Second rep calls and convinced me to go with a larger truck so there wouldn't be a problem. They would have a semi come to the house so everything could be loaded and the shipment not be split. He added an additional day so they could pack on Friday and move on Saturday. The increase in cubic feet resulted in an increase of almost $3000.
What really happened - packers weren't going to show up until I had a melt down on the phone with rep. So 2 people showed up at 5pm and worked until 9pm packing what they could on Friday. The didn't show up until 10am on Saturday to finish packing. There was no semi available and the team hadn't been apprised of the need for a semi. This meant that the load had to be split up. They finished loading at 2am Sunday morning.
The delivery was to be on July 3rd but they didn't leave Houston until July 2nd - now they say it would be delivered on July 4th. The wreck occurred at 11:30p on July 3rd.

Silver Star misrepresented themselves as the movers and making that contract. They have a responsibility to know the quality of the work and ratings of the companies they work with - I would like to think they would be more responsible in knowing with whom they are working. They are not available by phone and they don't return calls. I'm still waiting on rep to call me back as I was going to have a "moment" with him over the phone to voice my displeasure. That's why I'm doing it here. These folks are very difficult to work with and maintain contact with. Once they get the $$ they are gone. When I got through to a person, she would say "let me check and I'll call you back" and you never hear from her and you get to go to voice mail the rest of the day.

  15. Don't deal with them.

I wish I read all of that before I deal with them
They don't want to do a refund
I found another company with half price.
