  1. Moving.

I moved from San Diego to Cleveland. The company I had previously hired went under last. I called this company and they helped me out. They were able to get me moved here to Cleveland on time to start my new career. I still had plenty of time to get moved in, settled, and explore my new home a bit. I'll also add they did so at a reasonable price. Very professional, and courteous staff as well. I would recommend them to my closest family and friends.

  2. Great Company.

I moved across state and used Silver Star movers. They were polite, professional, and careful with my belongings. They made moving a lot easier and I’ll be using them again in the future. Thank you!

  3. 5 Star Movers!

I recently made an out of state move , I was stressed and didn't know where to begin. I contacted this company, from start to finish this company was amazing. The office stayed in constant touch with me , which eased my nerves beyond belief. The day of the move, the movers were professional and handled everything with care. When I received my items , everything was just as pleasant ! I definitely recommend this company for your move !

  4. About my move.

I booked silver star to help me move from Tennessee to Iowa. I did have a pretty big sized move, and I needed a full pack service done. When the movers arrived, they packed everything so well!! They were great and very professional about everything. The day before the delivery, the driver called and give me an estimated time of arrival for the next day. They unloaded everything and placed them exactly where I wanted. It was done at a great pace and I’m very happy with the outcome of it all!!

  5. My move.

Excellent company! This is my second time moving with silver star and my experience was just as great the second time as it was the first time! I also had to move some very tricky and complicated furniture and didn’t receive one complaint. I highly recommend them! They truly made my move as simple as possible and they have great customer service.

  6. Horrible company.

Do not use this company. Silver Star Moving Group is a horrible service business. They really need to learn how to perform customer service! If you decide to cancel, you will not get your money back! so if that's in the back of your mind at all, find a more ethical company. The sales representative will outright ignore you until it is too late. Everyone will ignore you!

  7. My move from MI to VA.

I had to move from MI to VA to be closer to my family. When I got into contact with silver star, they ended up taking a complete list of household items and gave me an estimate. They gave me the chance to look into other quotes. Being the person I am, I had to do my research. I did in fact chose silver star. They weren’t the cheapest but they deff weren’t the highest. When I finally decided to move forward with silver star I began to pack my things. They kept me updated on when the movers would arrive. The day they showed up I was very anxious, but the moment they began to wrap my furniture I was very relieved. They wrapped it so well that you couldn’t even see an inch of my furniture! They then loaded everything and was on their way. In about a week and a half my furniture arrived in Virginia in the same condition it was picked up. I’m very happy with silver star. Thanks again!

  8. My move from CA to FL.

I picked this company out of 5 different companies I spoke to. And I am very pleased I went with silver star. Everything I was told happened. Very pleased with my move.

  9. Beware of Silver star moving group.

Moving of a small load of furniture items from Seattle to Austin

Silverstarmoving company is very bad company as they only get engaged with you till the time they don't get their deposit amount.
Once they get their share they are least bothered if your stuff is getting delivered or not. They will keep on saying that we can't do anything as
your stuff is with moving company.

My move was very small load move. I paid them $797 as deposit till that time they were very responsive. Mike was the guy who booked my move
I booked them 4th feb, my stuff got picked up from my location on 6th feb. Earliest delivery date agreed was 11th feb.
They told have they have some state regulation that they have to deliver with 21 business days, so I was waiting atleast till 21 business days.
19th I received mail from there moving company that my stuff started from Seattle.I called 4-5 times to moving company around march 1.
They were very rude and asked me to not bug them again n again. I called silver star moving next week Monday they said wait till 21 days are over
I am calling them daily from 18th March. 1 day they said my stuff is already delivered. Upon asking give me signature on delivery note and final payment account
They said we don't know we need to check. I called again next day, they said we don't have update. I called 3rd day they said My stuff is in Dallas and they dont
know when will it start. Finally on Friday they said my stuff will be delivered by today or tomorrow but I will get 24 hours prior driver call
    No call yet.
I am not sure if they will deliver my stuff and now that I am forced to write this review which condition they will give my stuff or if
they will charge me more than what was agreed on.

I would not recommend any of these companies at all.

  10. Moving Day.

    BEWARE!
This company sends rude drivers, there is no way to get in touch w/the main office. They haven't shown up yet. And we've not heard from ANYONE, Despite our 4 voicemails we left. So were SCREWED!.. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!..

  11. Beware - Deceptive Practices.

This company guarantees that everything will go smoothly, but they are not able to back this up with actual results.

Spoke to Mike, Andrew, Lisa, Joann. No results on any kind of refund for their services (or lack thereof).

I was moving of a small load of items from LA to Ohio - a Table, a cabinet, and some boxes.

Fee of $697 was agreed deposit which serves as the broker fee to Silver Star. Remainder was to be paid via credit card to the actual moving company per our agreement. On site, movers demanded $125 extra fee for packing, even after seeing photos in advance - or they would not take one large item. After negotiation, Silver Star paid ½ the ADDITIONAL movers fee, and I paid the balance $62.50.

After driving away, the movers then said they would not accept a credit card – after agreeing in writing. Instead they demanded full payment of $1124 in cash. After negotiation, since they had all my furniture, they agreed they would accept ½ in cash via instant CASH app via bank and ½ at delivery via instant CASH app.

A few weeks later, at the drop off location, they demanded $563 in CASH or they would keep the furniture/items. Again, this was not what was agreed. There was no negotiation, the movers would not speak to anyone except the people on site, and told them pay or they take the items away.

Silver Star moving charge a fee, the movers charged a fee. Silver Star who is responsible for overseeing this move have put the blame on the moving company, although Silver Star are responsible for “customer service” throughout the move. They should stand behind their subcontractors and not just say “the movers said they won’t honor the deal that we made with you.”

I would not recommend any of these companies at all.

  12. Intersate move from NY to FL.

Oh where to begin. Firstly, I spoke with a man named Michael Price. His job is to swindle you in to thinking this is a white glove service that is professional and will handle your move with care and compassion. Oh, yeah, and it’s also “super affordable”. We went over my inventory and he quoted me at $3,600 for the move from NY to FL for my small two-bedroom apartment. He then sent me a quote and said I have two days to put down the deposit or the deal is gone. So, after getting other quoted from other companies, I put the deposit down and felt peace. Then, Cameron called me, the QA manager, to review my inventory “one more time”. I should say, if you don’t cancel the move 48 hours after putting the deposit down, you won’t get refunded. I planned this out well in advance; Cameron didn’t call until about 3 weeks later and one week before my move. I couldn’t cancel, why would I? I got a great deal! Enter good ole’ Cameron. We went through the inventory, added a few small things like 3 lamps, a glider chair that was outside, my road bike, and then a few more boxes. My total went from $3,600 to $6,600 and he needed a deposit of $1,700 for extra weight, taxes, and fuel today to confirm my appointment. I obviously flipped a lid and said absolutely not. I called a U-Haul and reserved one immediately. I wrote a scathing email to their VP explaining all that had happened. Not 10 minutes later, Andrew Bennet, GM at Silver Star, called to go over everything and apologize. He went back over the inventory, explained that I didn’t have to pay the extra fees, and reduced my “quote” to $4,700. I put quote in parentheses because THEY ARE NOT MOVERS. When the real movers came, they laughed at ow over charged I was and said they don’t even charge in weight. Cameron lied, as did everyone else. I also paid $1,050 for a guaranteed delivery between 2-4 business days and for my own personal truck. When the movers showed up, there were two other jobs on the back. Once again, they lied. When my stuff didn’t show up on Monday as promised I began to call. No one would answer. Finally, Andrew called and told me they were running behind but were in Georgia on their way. I found the driver’s number and called him directly…guess what, they hadn’t even left NY!! Three days pass, Andrew ignores my calls, doesn’t respond to me, until he finally returns my phone call. He then informs me that the truck was in South Carolina and would be there in 2 days. By this point, they are a week late and missed the expedite window. I once again call the driver, that same day, to confirm his location…guess what, his truck is broken down and he has been stuck in Georgia for 3 DAYS!! Again, Andrew lied to get me off the phone. Gotta admire his persistence though. From this point on, I stopped even relying on Silver Star for anything and spoke directly with the driver of my truck. Andrew, Cameron, Mike, Lisa, and Donna (auto transport) are liars and will say whatever they have to say to get your money and keep your business. Do not use them. Do not use them. Do not use them. Run and never look back. Get a U-Haul and do it yourself.

  13. Beware, Beware, BEWARE!!

Beware, Beware, BEWARE!! We hired Silver Star (SS), they subcontracted to Executive Moving (EM) who subcontracted to Wheaton Movers who subcontracted to Sammy Services, company who actually delivered. The initial contract was for $1,630 they charged us right at $4,400 when all was said and done!! They misrepresented, they debited without permission, they overcharged, they were late, itemd damaged and mishandled and there seems to be no recourse, undependable people, most communications were initiated by us. If they had been honest with us from the beginning, we would chosen something else. When red flags flew and questions grew, SS stopped taking our calls! Thomas White was the original sales agent for SS, Cameron the follow-up muscle, and Lisa the CS rep who was supposedly going to get to the bottom of Executive’s inappropriate charges and actions. Several conversations with Lisa.. Promises of resolution..nothing. Even after an over-debit of $560 by Executive.
Here’s how it went for us..They first represented themselves as being affiliated with United, a reputable mover who we’ve had move us cross-country twice, but instead are just a broker. They quoted $1,630 (Thomas) to move our son from a 1 bdrm apt in Ogden, UT to SE Georgia (2200 miles), my son having liquidated the bulk of his belongings.. no living room furniture, no bedroom furniture, no appliances, no office furniture, just belongings as in books, games, clothing, the biggest items being IKEA bookshelves, and a table and chairs. Two days after deposit of $618, Silver Star (Cameron) increased contract by double $3,200+ and collected an additional $735, for a total to Silver Star of $1,350 as a deposit, supposedly based on a weight estimate, representing that Thomas had no business talking to customers because he didn’t know what he was talking about. I was annoyed but over a barrel. I’m sure they have recordings of all of these calls/conversations. Without any communication or warning, Silver Star subcontracted out to Executive Movers in LV, NV who missed the pickup by a day past the end date and my son was gone out of town and had to leave his stuff in the apt and a key w the Landlord for Executive to enter. THE WORST part.. they represented by phone that Executive doesn’t charge by WEIGHT! Executive told him that Silver Star are ‘known in the industry to weigh your stuff with all of their employees standing on the scale!’ Their subcontractor talking mad crap about them. Then Executive revealed the clencher.. Executive doesn’t even charge by WEIGHT!.. They charge by VOLUME only and then proceeded to tell him by phone that he was 100 sq ft over the volume estimate too, which we’d never heard a word of. Cameron specifically said it ‘made no difference’ how much space it took up. SO NOW WE’VE BEEN CHARGED BY WEIGHT AND BY VOLUME! Executive represented that they would debit an amount not to exceed $935. They debited $1,498.20 without authorization or permission for that amount. I called Executive and filed a complaint with Ashley, who told me it would take 2 days to resolve. I never heard from her again despite repeated calls. Instead of refunding the overage, unbeknownst to us, they dumped off to another subcontractor. Executive Movers, the Subcontractor, then subcontracted to Wheaton Movers’, who apparently subcontracted to Sammy Services. They also arrived a day past the delivery window which was less consequential this time but then held his stuff hostage for an additional $1,498.20 payable in CASH only so the charges could not be disputed. So, in summary, we hired Silver Star to move us and they didn’t. The entire thing was so stressful from start to finish and cost us nearly triple the quoted price.. easily double what his belonging were worth monetarily. No recourse. They can treat you and your stuff however they wish with no fear of accountability. THIS WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WE WOULDN'T WISH ON A WORST ENEMY!!

  14. No communication unless prompted, no heads-up for drop-off.

First, I just want to mention that Silver Star is a broker, they hire other moving companies to actually move you. Overall, I was very disappointed, stressed, and frustrated.
I moved from a studio apartment in the Southeast to the Midwest at the end of November. Overall, I had a few pieces of furniture and only 10 boxes. I decided to use Silver Star Moving Group because they got a quote to me fast and were able to schedule me the soonest. I needed to move for a job and had a time crunch. They were scheduled to come on a Saturday or Sunday. Saturday passes, and no communication about when they would be there. I tried Silver Star, and the after hours person said they would send my message on. Eventually, mid afternoon on Sunday, I called Silver Star since I had heard nothing else. They called the movers dispatch. After a bit, I got a call that said they would be there Monday. On Monday 11/26/18, they arrived within the new time frame. The movers who picked up my boxes were very professional, friendly, and made sure they attached a numbered sticker to everything.
The official estimate of drop-off was 14-21 days that was relayed to me in Silver Star’s estimate. In the contract, it allowed up to 30 days. Verbally, the main mover told me it would probably be 10 days. I heard nothing from Silver Star or the movers until I started calling Silver Star mid-December. I was told they would call dispatch and get back to me. I heard nothing back from Silver Star or the movers. On December 18th, I received a message that the movers would be there the next day in the morning. From only the movers, NOTHING from Silver Star. Silver Star said they would give me a heads-up for drop-off but they didn’t. So I had less than a day's notice of drop off AND it was 23 days after pick-up. Luckily, I was able to start work a bit late. On 12/19/18, the movers arrived when expected. They were very fast, but again it was a very small move. I tried keeping track of all the boxes, but the two men were going very fast, and I was already anxious about being late for work. I counted 7 boxes, they brought in one last load, and when I tried going to check the numbered stickers to make sure I had them all, I immediately was prompted to sign. I wasn’t told to check if my things were there, the movers did NOT check that each stickered item was there, and they were very insistent that I sign. Since I was running late, and thought the last load had 3 boxes in it, I signed. When I got home from work, I checked all the boxes and realized one was missing. I called Silver Star, but it was after hours, and they said they would send a message to customer support. After a week, I called them again during normal hours, only to find out that they had no record of me telling them I have a missing box! They said they would call the movers, have them look for it, and get back to me. Fast forward to over a week later, when I hadn’t heard anything, I called them again. They said “oh, they couldn’t find it. You will have to file a claim with CSI”. If I hadn’t called them back, Silver Star wouldn’t have told me that the movers never found my box. So I filed a claim through CSI. They have looked into it, and since I signed, they can’t do anything. I just want my box back, I need my belts and boots, but I highly doubt that is going to happen.
The communication was either terrible or non-existent for Silver Star and the movers, the drop-off time was very long even for a long-distance move (and technically outside their official estimate, unless weekends are not counted), and the drop-off movers do NOT check to make sure all your items are there. I only had 10 boxes, but they still lost 1. I DO NOT recommend them to anyone, and I want everyone to know my experience so they can make an informed decision.

  15. Silver Star.

Do NOT I repeat do NOT use this company They promise you one thing and one price and completely change their story They subcontracted the movers out to a sub par company that showed up at my door a day in advance. At three o’clock in the afternoon After complaining about the mix up I was treated very disrespectfully and was told “ I can say anything in this house I want to” and proceeded to cuss at me and use the F word even as I asked him to stop cussing I used another moving company two years ago and had absolutely NO problems. Upon telling the General ,Manager about the situation he said and I quote” well you know how movers can be” This was the very WORST customer service experience in my 64 years of life I would NEVER in a million years recommend them to anyone. It was a true nightmare.
