  1. Awesome move.

We were moving 3/4 of our household from Michigan to Arizona and had scheduled a move with another company three months prior to the move.  In contacting them several times, they had never scheduled a carrier for us, even by the contract date.  We called Two Men and a Truck on a Wednesday afternoon, and Friday Morning, Sam and James showed up on time, and very carefully shrink wrapped the furniture, and loaded everything we wanted to take onto the truck.  I had Sam's phone number so we could keep in contact on the trip out to AZ.  Few little glitches, so to speak.  Our items were overweight, so rather than having us leave some items in Michigan, Sam orchestrated a newer and lighter truck and several wonderful employees there moved all of the items onto the lighter truck for the trip.  Near OK City, Sam experienced a tire blow out and gave us a call.  After that one was fixed, the went a little bit further, and experienced a second one.  Taking off new tires on a new truck and putting retreads was not the best business practice for this company.  But they authorized all new retreads and the rest of the trip was uneventful.  They arrived at our new home [he picked up a second man in Phoenix] and everything was off loaded and placed in it's spot in less than four hours.  They removed the shrinkwrap and made sure everything was fine before they left.  We are totally pleased with their care of our property, and the efficiency they showed.  The scheduler was super in helping us out and should we ever be in a position to recommend a mover, we will not hesitate to strongly recommend Two Men and a Truck.  And NOTHING was damaged in the move!!

  2. Damaged furniture.

Beware if you have good furniture.. if damaged it will take months to be compensated for the damages. They are only insured for 1000.00. Think twice if you have antiques or one of a kind pieces. They cracked my headboard, I slept for 3 months with my mattress on the floor while they stalled paying the claim. They had the audacity to try and replace my $3400 bed with a $500 dollar partical board bed..even with my original receipts.. it was only when I showed up unannounced at the offices when the owner happened to be there that I got a check. The manager made up an excuse and left the office..Only after my fiancé pointed out the damage, the one mover admitted to the damage.. dishonest.. if you use the one in Orlando Florida make sure you have insurance..I will never use two men and a f@#ked up truck again..

  3. Inept Movers.

I would NOT recommend that anyone use this franchise of 2 Men & a Truck.  I have had previous experiences with this company with no complaints, but DO NOT USE THE TROY FRANCHISE!! I moved in early July using 2 Men & a Truck – Troy franchise (1250 Rankin Dr, Troy, MI 48083).  On the move day the 3 movers showed up a little late to assess the items to be moved.  About ½ hour later the local manager showed up and looked at all out items and indicated that the team should be able to move all the items in 2 loads, at worse 3. While the guys were loading the first haul, we made a comment that more could fit on the truck, but were told to mind our own business, they have been doing this for years, let them do their job.  We should have realized that after the 2nd load (this load also could have been optimized, but we said nothing), that this was going to be a long day.  It was already a drizzly humid day, so the weather as well as the guys not working well with us should have been an indication, but I was still holding out that we would move everything in the 3rd load. When we got back for the 3rd load, the guys haphazardly loaded the truck and (while the truck was so poorly packed, they could have easily fit everything in that load), they indicated that they could not fit any more and that this was their last load, they had another job to get to.  This was along with the comment that everything would not fit in the new house or garage, so they were not going to move it. I had an emotional breakdown at this point.  And my partner called the main office.  After some (not very pleasant) ‘discussion’ with the main office, the team agreed that they would return for a 4th load to pick up the remaining items.  Keep in mind, it was approaching rush hour, and were paying these guys by the hour, so another load over rush hour would easily add 2 hours onto the move charge (which it did). So be it, I said, I need everything moved out of the rental house and into our new purchased house today, no ifs, ands, or buts.  However, in the process of being told to do this, they decided that they would stack the items in the garage so haphazardly, that I could not unload and organize the items by myself and needed help.  They also thought it was a ‘cool idea’ to put our living room couch on the bottom of the stack IN THE GARAGE!! After complaining about this, the manager agreed to send over a couple of guys the following weekend to help me unload the garage, put the couch in the house, and reload the garage so everything could fit WHICH IT DID.  But it was already too late (as I was told) to file a complaint that the couch back (material) was ripped and that 3 items of furniture were scratched pretty bad, since the time limit to file this type of damage complaint is 7 days from the move date, and this was after 7 days.   So they did nothing.  I would NOT recommend that anyone use this franchise of 2 Men & a Truck.  I have had previous experiences with this company with no complaints, but DO NOT USE THE TROY FRANCHISE!!

  4. Do not use this company.

I had a horrible experience with this company.  I am still trying to get several issues addressed and my move was at the end of June (22/25/27).  I was supposed to have my entire house packed, yet when they left my house, several items were unpacked, most of the boxes were half empty, and many of the items in the boxes were not wrapped, including breakable items. They also broke 2 items while packing, which have still not been addressed.   I had to unpack every box and repack all of them.  I have been trying to get this fee refunded, which was agreed to, but has still not be refunded.  They came back after saying they would refund this amount and told me I now owe them more money, despite having a signed bill showing a balance due of a certain amount, which actually is less than what I was charged.  I also have been trying to get damages taken care of, which are extensive due to them badly wrapping all my furniture and pictures.  Almost every picture frame is damaged, as well as almost every piece of furniture.  I have been back and forth trying to get things taken care of, yet I keep getting put off.  Steer clear of using this company.

  5. Worst experience ever!!

Appointment was set/confirmed for 8:30am - received call around 8:45am saying movers did not show up for work and we would be bumped to an after lunch move. The whole move was contingent on getting moved before lunch. I asked for a discount due to inconvenience and was denied. Movers showed up around 12:30pm with a major attitude..they were not happy they had to do another move that same day. We signed for service to start at 12:45pm and movers proceeded to take a smoking break and talk on phone for 15 minutes. One of the first pieces of furniture the lead mover/driver picked up was part of my office desk which broke as he was carrying it. He showed me what happened and basically blamed it on the quality of the desk. I was upset and confronted him about not moving anything for 15 minutes and once he finally did he dropped my desk! He said "I can leave if you want me too"! I told him "I just want my stuff [EDIT] moved..please"! He proceeded to move a few more pieces then called in to his office and QUIT over the phone!! Very bad situation as some of my furniture was on his truck and he was going to leave. His co worker talked him into taking off our furniture and putting it in our garage..thank goodness. He got in the TWO MEN and TRUCK vehicle and proceeded to drive out of our neighborhood at a speed of 50 MPH..speed limit is 15 MPH. I spent more time on the phone talking to managers than movers spent at my house loading truck!! Manager said he would get another crew out to move us ..which he eventually called back and said he had one and would come out shortly..no discount offered! After giving it some thought and discussing with my wife we decided to get some friends/family to complete the move on our own. I would say this was the all time WORSE customer service experience I ever had!! I would not recommend TWO MEN and a TRUCK to anyone even if they offered a free move!! Oh yea..when I ask when they would come out to repair my desk their manager never called me back.

  6. Damaged furniture.

We had used 2 M&AT a couple of times before when we lived in a different state and our move from Atlanta to our rental house in AL could not have been smoother. Our problems started when we moved from our rental into our purchased home. Although the move was less than a half mile we still wanted our possessions moved professionally and wanted them to arrive in one piece. What we got from 2 M&AT was far from professional, our furniture wasn't wrapped or covered resulting in serious damage to the fabric & legs of a $30,000 Ico Parisi suite. At this point the mover has not been helpful. I'm sure they are standing behind their 'limitiations' which is to repair the damage done to the item at a repairer of their choosing, but as this is a highly collectible collection of furniture the value comes from all the 3 pieces matching. They told me that they would not be pursuing these repairs through their insurance (maybe they have such a poor record of keeping their customers possessions safe?) that they would be paying out of pocket and refuse to maintain the integrity of the value of the furniture by only repairing the damaged items. This has the effect of not being a matching set of furniture and I have 2 options. 1. to pay out of my own pocket to have the 3red piece recovered to match the 2 damaged items, or 2. to accept that this furniture is probably only worth 20% of its original value. I'm also concerned that if these items are repaired and I have no say in who repairs them, then the value will be significantly impacted even more as they need to be repaired by highly skilled craftsmen who are familiar with this kind of furniture and understand its appeal on the glovbal auction market  .

  7. Unprofessional Company.

Do not use Two men and a truck at the McFarland Alpharetta Georgia location or really anywhere if you can help it. I would give them no stars if I could. They do not even deserve 1 star. We were a repeat customer and treated so poorly. They held our furniture for 3 additional days without consent and required us to pay an inflated amount before they would deliver our furniture. Many, many damages but we received minimum compensation because we did not purchase the extended insurance for $450! The damage was over $500.Chairs and furniture thrown in the truck not carefully wrapped or stacked.Movers did not bring water or food so were worn out by noon. Sat around for 2 hours for lunch which we bought and paid for the food and the hours they sat around. They got the truck stuck for 1 1/2 hours which we also paid for. Because of the poor service and use of their time, they could not finish in one day and proceeded to take our furniture without our consent to sit, where we were not told, for an additional 3 days. That was never discussed as a possibility when quoting our job. I contacted corporate thinking they would want to know how a franchise is using their name and received no help at all over a 3 week period. They called the franchise to contact us. The franchise responded that we were lying (of course) and proceeded to tell us what really happened even though management was not there. They are such an unprofessional company even corporate. It was one of the most frustrating experience I have ever experienced. If you care anything about your furniture, your wallet (because the end price is never what you are quoted so they can get your business), your sanity or your back (we had to sleep on the floor for 3 nights as they kept 1/3 of the furniture for 3 days) We did receive a small refund several weeks later because it only took 2 hours to unload the last of the furniture not 4 which we had been forced to pay before they would unload. DO NOT USE 2 MEN and a TRUCK. You will not receive "Movers who care" treatment nor any restitution if you suffer the way we did. They do not care. Period.

  8. Two Men and a Truck Nightmare.

If I could give this company a 0 I would.  The worst.  Two of the four workers complained about a delay in pay because our move wasn't a direct move (our stuff was being stored until we could settle on our new house) and then they indicated they might not finish the job.  They dropped boxes and furniture in front of us.  They did damage to almost all of our furniture.  Packed a lot of our breakables together in a pile on a few sheets of the newspaper they use instead of wrapping breakables individually.  They packed heavy breakables on top of more fragile breakables causing them to break.  They can't find some of our stuff, like our 60" TV, levels, bedding and other stuff.  We have a lot of missing stuff and probably more than we even know right now, we will probably realize something it missing months from now when we go to look for it and realize it is not there.  There is no way to tell for sure since they did not do an inventory when loading our stuff and failed to weigh one of the trucks.  Two boxes of stuff that isn't ours was delivered to us and has never been retrieved by the company.  I found CDs in our outside grill.  Contents of boxes scattered.  They packed unwrapped pictures in a big wardrobe box with fishing poles, box of ornaments, curtain rods, closet rods and other things causing damage to them.  They didn't have an inventory for me to sign and didn't weigh one of the trucks. They have produced no damage sheet with my signature on it.  When I contacted corporate I was told "franchises are their own entities and make the final decision" in regards to a settlement for our losses.   Leaving me with no confidence in the "Two men and a truck" name.  I definitely felt they were NOT "movers that care".  Not only would I not recommend this company but I will be sure to share my horrible experience.  Moving is stressful enough as it is but dealing with this company made it a nightmare.

  9. The service was terrible.

The move was estimated to take one day, it too two days. They left the house a mess, with wrapping paper loose on many floors, I had asked to remove the draps from the bedroom, they remove only one set of drapes and left the other in the house. When it was time to move the items from the house to the other location, the boxes were any where not attention was put to having the boxes in the right room. They caused damage to the outside property and behaved as if it was nothing. They were rushed and unpleasant.

  10. Very bad experience.

We had the worst experience with the company in our recent move.   From the start, office support was rude and misinformed. However, the sales contact (Scott) assured all our concerns were taken care of. The movers showed up without being informed of the questions Scott had apparently addressed and then charged us for the services Scott had assured were included in the quote.  The center manager, Edy, talked nicely when we demanded to talk to him but never got back to us regarding the rude employee he promised to investigate. Final charges were lower than the estimate but there was no descriptions/ line items provided for the charges. The moving crew assured the office would call us back regarding the damaged furniture as well as the line items and the original weight of the trucks but there is no response yet even after 10 days of the move. The crew was overall was very nice and polite except for one of the four who was actually doing the paperwork. With so much to move, we tried to stay out of the way as much as possible and went with the flow to maintain our sanity but we won't recommend their services to anyone. With the negative surveys sent back with the concerns, no one has bothered to get back to us.

  11. Two men and a truck.

I called two men and a truck back in 2001 in Dewitt Michigan. Worst service ever. Lazy!! The owner showed up because I called to complain. He wanted to drop all my stuff on the sidewalk and leave.
Still pissed and it's 2014. I really do not think I should have to write 350 characters to get my point across about bad service. Bad service. Bad service. Bad service. Bad service. Bad service. Even this website is annoying me.

  12. Never again.

I recently booked Two Men to help me pack up and move my leftover items into storage, since I had already moved to AZ. The 3 man crew that showed up at my place was slow, clearly didn't want to be there, spent a lot of time on the phone, and was very unorganized. In the end, I was charged almost $900 for them to move 1 wooden dining room chair, 1 cupboard, 2 large stuffed animals, a child size rocking horse, 12 boxes that they packed (one box was nothing more than a magazine rack that they placed in the box), and 2 bookshelves and a dresser that weren't supposed to go in the first place. It took them 2.5-3 hours to load those items..not pack anything, mind you..load it into the truck. I finally had to ask them to stop wandering around and wrap up the job so I didn't pay them overtime. They didn't even touch the 6 already packed boxes I had ready to go. Even strangers who saw them mentioned the crew seemed unorganized and slow. When I talked to the quality manager in the office, he assured me he would open an investigation and come up with a solution. Never heard back from him again. Because if this company, I had to hire another moving crew (who DID finish in 3 hours) and probably alienated several friendships since I had to beg for help. The entire experience was a disaster. I highly recommend NOT using this company. .

  13. Broke dryer, caused damage, lazy.

They did not call before arriving in the morning as I had been told. This same move took 3 hours and 15 minutes last year with a longer distance.  This year it took 6 hours. Workers were careless, lazy, sloppy.  They damaged the wall and stair railing.  Moved large items by themselves without equipment or help from each other.  Had to be told how to move things around tight corners. Took breaks, disappeared.  Ran their battery down at the first stop and took one hour to get a jump and come to the drop off site. Used my CLOTHES dryer the morning of the move.  When I attempted to use it at the new house it was broken.  Called and filed a complaint.  Someone came out and looked at it and said he would be back with me in 2 days for a resolution.  Never called.  When I called I was told they called a local appliance store and did research on the internet and was not responsible for what happened.  Whether it had been them, me, or another moving company, this issue could have taken place.  Refused to repair or replace the dryer.  .

  14. The old bait and switch.

The movers were great, but the office staff is where you fail miserably. They way under estimated my move and led me to believe that my move would cost $275, when it ended up costing me more than $500. I feel like I was cheated and deceived by your company. That you deliberately underestimated my move, knowing it would take much longer than an hour and half. I would never use this company again and I will be sure to tell all my friends via social media to stay far away from Two men and a Trick, excuse me, Truck.        .

  15. Incompetent.

These guys could not even take a bed apart not to mention the horrible customer support recieved from office staff. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Owner just made excuses how they could not be prepared for unusual things (a stripped screw is unusual in a move?).  They had a long list of things they would not do. They must have a lot of business because they sure don't care about their customers.
