  1. Great Move from Two Men and a Truck/Tampa.

I used Two Men and a Truck/Tampa and I had a very good experience. They showed up on time, they were fast, courteous and careful. My furniture was moved without a scratch. I had them help me pack too and if I had stood still they would have had me wrapped and boxed.I also recommended them to friends who have used them and also were happy with the move and the price.  .

  2. Speed of loading, at an hourly rate.

Since the moving companies that my friends/family recommended were already booked, I tried Two Men and a Truck.

The rate was $25 - $35 per hour higher than the recommended movers and took 2 times as long, compared to 3 other experiences.  This was explained as the "selling feature" of Two Men and a Truck, stating that they add extra precautions to ensure safe and damage free cargo arrival at the final destination..odd, since they broke some furniture in the process (to be fair, they are paying to have it repaired).

The quoted estimate was 12-13 hours, but dropped when I said that all boxes would be packed and in the garage waiting, and all furniture disassembled, with no re-assembly required.  The day before, a family member insisted they help and rented a 26 foot self serve truck.  We filled the entire truck with boxes and any remaining large items (except furniture) and moved it ourselves.  This was not calculated in the estimate, so you'd think, less stuff..less time.

The next morning Two Men and a Truck arrived and began to work.  Periodic checks on progress seems discouraging, but figured there is a method to their work.  After a while frustration began to set in, watching work being done, at the rate of hourly paid employees (not by the job employees).  At the end of the day, with the truck emptied and furniture broken, the bill came..8.5 hours for less than half of the house packed/disassembled and waiting for them.  At $95/hour, that's $807.

I guess the lesson learned is; listen to your friends/family and reserve early, since the good companies aren't available last minute.

  3. Horrible Moving Experience with Two Men and a Truck in Lansing MI.

Don’t ever use Two Men and a Truck in Lansing, Michigan.  I had Two Men and a Truck in Lansing Michigan move the contents out of my home and into a indoor, climate controlled storage facility.  When I went to have my items moved out of the storage facility a year later, there were many things broken, scratched and just overall damaged.  They stacked metal on wood, laid a baby grand piano on the cement floor and scratched it, stacked metal pieces on my refrigerator and washing machines.  There were over 75 glasses, dishes broken, along with picture frames and other items.  The moving company that moved my items out of the storage unit said it was the worst packing job they have seen in over 20 years of moving.  I contacted Two Men and a Truck in the Lansing location that I used and they basically had me jump through some hoops and have not returned my latest emails or calls, even after I initially brought in photos of the horrible pack job and damaged items.   The girl I showed them to agreed with me that it was a horrible job and couldn’t believe it herself? This was, by far, the worst experience I have had with a company that I can remember.  I will never use Two Men and a Truck again and I advise anyone to not use them.  Their customer service and moving services are horrible!  Two Men and a Truck review, bad review, Lansing, MI, Michigan.

  4. Terrible Movers. Will never use this company again.

The two movers sent by Two Men and a Truck did a terrible job. The job took them 13.5 hours when it should have been an 8-hour job at the most. They arrived at 8:30am (on time). We moved from one house to another less than 2 miles away. We used Two Men and A Truck because we had used that company 6 years ago for the exact same pieces of furniture (other than a washer and dryer and a plastic high chair) and had a great experience. Six years ago, it took them 7 hours to do the move and they actually had one additional location to go to at the time and they also moved a dining room set that we no longer own. This time, the two movers were inexperienced and kept complaining and arguing with each other. One of them was not strong at all and constantly complained and asked for guidance from the other because he did not know what to do. They ended up refusing to move two dressers up one flight of stairs at the new house, and did not tell us about that until 9pm. They said the dressers were too heavy. They used a runner and padding against the door frames at the house we were moving out of, but not at the new house. As a result of their dragging furniture on our floor at the new house, they scratched our hard wood floor. They signed a damage report but then apparently they later lied to their boss and said we had refused the use of a runner on the floor of the new house. That's just ridiculous. We did not refuse the use of a runner. They did not at any point ask us any questions about runners or padding to prevent damage. We let them do their job and, if they had asked us if they could use a runner, of course we would have said yes. I was assuming that they would since they had used a runner and padding around the door frame at the house we moved out of.  They had no clue how to move furniture. They did not even remove the drawers from the dressers to make them less heavy and easier to lift. We had to suggest that to them and then remove the drawers ourselves because they did not know how to do it.. They complained their hands were hurting but apparently they did not wear gloves. They took lots of breaks, were on their cell phones, spent time chatting, etc. That's part of the reason why they were there all day. They were constantly arguing with each other over how to carry the furniture. At some point, one of them just lay on the floor of our new house. I guess he was taking a break. Their boss was unprofessional over the phone and dismissed our concerns. We ended up paying for 9.5 hours and now she does not appear willing to fix our damaged floor because she said she has given us enough of a discount as it is and she believes her movers who told her we refused the runner. I felt a bit sorry for the movers on the day of the move because it is true they were there all day, but that was their own doing and it was due to their slacking on the job and their lack of experience. They should not have been doing that job. I no longer feel bad for them since they lied about the way the move took place. I will never use that company again.

  5. Avoid if at all Possible!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Originally I was loving this company, I had called and made several changes to my move. They were very accommodating and patient with me. I thought this was going to be the best experience ever..but I was wrong!! I received a call from the company the day before indicating that they were changing my move from a 2 man crew to a 3 man crew. I asked if this was going to change the price and I was assured it wouldn't. The day of the move came and I was told that I was the second move of the day and that the first move was scheduled for 2 hours. Therefore I anticipated them arriving at my house by noon at the latest. I called at 11:30 to see if they were running on time and was told that they had no idea when they would arrive. So I waited until 12:30 to call again and was told they would probably be another hour. They arrived at 2:45 pm. The movers were very pleasant and moved all my items without incident. As I was reviewing the paperwork I noticed that the amounts were different (about $70 more), I spoke with the mover and he said he wasn't sure why so I figured I would call on Monday to figure it out. When I called I was told that the estimate was just an estimate and that was for 2 people not 3 so most likely I would've had to pay more. I felt like I was completely deceived, they made the change from 2 people to 3 so why should I have to pay the difference, why wouldn't I be charged the original rate for the length of time? When I asked if the price would change the person didn't say anything about the fact that the rate would increase. They specifically said that NOTHING WOULD CHANGE. I have no problems telling people (ones that I know and random strangers on the street) I wouldn't use this company but if they really want to make sure that they clarify everything and not sign anything until they speak to a person at the company. During a stressful time this is the last thing I needed..if they had just refunded me the $70 I wouldn't be so upset, guess they need the money more than the good review!

  6. Stay far away.

I would highly recommend that you NOT use this mover. They soaked a mattress, broke several items of furniture and provided no compensation. When I contacted corporate, they said that they didn't have control over the individual franchises and that they could only encourage them to do the right thing. Which in this case was NOTHING! I have moved several times and this was the worst moving experience EVER. And a 10 mile 3-bedroom move was NOT a bargain at over $1,000. Go somewhere else.

  7. Poor Professionalism.

First, the moving estimate was incredibly off. Bethany (the estimator) estimated our move (on the high end) would take 12 hours and cost $1,700. It actually took 21 hours and cost $2,600. In addition, Matthew Richardson (the manager) and Greg (the owner) were very rude when addressing my husband and I; constantly interrupting us, not allowing us to speak more than two words at a time. Furthermore, they told us the under estimate was our fault and implied that we were dishonest in our reporting of goods. They claim we failed to report 92 items (which amounts to about half of the number of items moved), even though I feel I reported all my goods to the best of my knowledge. I may have missed a handful of items, but after having gone through two military moves in the past year, I have a comprehensive inventory list and understand how move estimates work. I informed Bethany I had moved from a 2,000 sq. ft. home and my husband had moved from a 1,500 sq. ft. home and it was all in the apartment in addition to a 12 X 12 storage unit "filled to the brim." I had even suggested the company send an individual to visually inspect the premises to calculate an estimate. They did not send an individual to perform an estimate, insisting that they had padded the estimate and not to worry. After spending several hours on the phone with Matthew and Greg, Greg finally agreed to refund us $714, which was the overage in hours and what Matthew had originally offered us when we first reported our complaint. However, Greg refused to apologize for he and his managerial staff's handling of a customer complaint. In addition, Greg went so far as to insinuate that he would have physically harmed me, had the conversation been in person. He did so by telling my husband that he will "punch anyone in the mouth who raises their voice at me, even if it is President Obama." I have never been treated so poorly for a service I was paying for.

  8. Excellent, once they arrived.

The original quoted time allowed for a 4 hour window in which the movers were to arrive. My move was scheduled for the afternoon, following another job the guys had that morning. They arrived an hour after the quoted window.  However, once they arrived, they hustled to load and unload my belongings. I was impressed by their care and expediency. They loaded, drove and unloaded the contents of a packed two bedroom house to a destination 20 miles away in 5 hours, as quoted.  It would have likely taken me and a friend at least three times as long to do the work they did. The guys were very experienced, incredibly careful, and did I say fast? A pleasure to work with.  I will definitely use this company again.

  9. Two Men and a Truck, Tampa, Florida.

BEWARE! ONLY use Two Men and a Truck, in South Tampa, at your own risk!  Two movers spent 2 days packing & moving from one location to another nearby location.  Had to let them go at the end of the 2ND day, due to the outrageous expense, even though we still had to spend another day & night packing what they didn't finish.  The Two Men & a Truck office called & offered to send out another person to assist the 2 men, but the 2 movers said 'they' didN'T want to work w/that 3RD person & that he'd only slow them down. Precious items were broken, damaged & some items were stolen.  We supplied food & drinks for the 2 movers, & we discovered that they even stole prescription medicines out of the refrigerator!  Money, a purse, other purse items, some jewelry, the medicines, a tape recorder item, plus many more items are missing.  They also didN'T mark ANY of the boxes, so there was no way to determine what the items in the boxes were, or in what room they belonged.  However, they stole a marker we had for marking some items.  Unpacking has been a huge burden.  They also used our personal boxes and packing tape, vs. their company items, to pack many things.  We paid almost  $3000 for THE WORST move we've ever experienced!  .

  10. Worst move ever and it was only 10 miles.

Two men and a truck came to the house the day before the move to pack.  They worked too fast to finish the amount to be packed in one day. Consequently they broke several things.  They came the next day to move us.  The truck was not quite big enough, again there only two men and that wasn't enough.  They did get everything in the truck but broke more things in doing so.  They moved too fast to complete the unpacking on that same day and broke more stuff. That being said, they fixed what they could and paid for replacements for what they couldn't fix in a very timely manner.  I still would not recommended them.

  11. Very Professional, Honest, And Affordable.

Two Men and A Truck, Davie, Florida is a solid moving company. My business partner and I had just sold a couple of marble statues to a client who lives on Fisher Island. I called several moving, freight, and specialty moving companies for delivery services and could not seem to make a deal with any of them. Most of the companies just did not have the experience and therefore declined. Others were ridiculus with their quotes and still would not gaurantee servicel. After receiving a tip from someone who works for a very well know freight company that the Two Men and A Truck (Davie, Fl.) could get it done, I gave them a call. From the very beginning, my moving consultant, Kenny, took control and worked diligently to find a solution to our moving dilemma. Within a hours time, Kenny spoke with his logistics specialist Martin and came up with a game plan. In the end, the move went seemless, and the price stayed firm. These guys are the real deal. If you are moving, USE THESE GUYS!!

  12. Greenville, WI, are OUTSTANDING!

Used them in Greenville, WI, three times for intercity moves and they were fantastic and very helpful.  I would use them again in a second! They were very helpful and careful moving out of the duplex and into our new home.  They even did a side trip to drop off some pieces to a local consignment shop.  Their quotation was completely accurate and the friendliest group of workers I know.

  13. Cross Country Move.

This company was FABULOUS!  The only reason they were one day late from when they said they would be there was because the truck had a mechanical problem in Texas.  Instead of waiting to get the truck fixed the company rented another truck, repacked the truck and showed up on time the next day.  They were very careful with all the furniture and boxes.  It all showed up in perfect condition.  They were polite, courteous and kept in contact every day as to where the truck was.  I am so thankful to this company for making a very stressful situation, comforting in the end!  This particular company was out of Appleton, Wisconsin.

  14. Moving NIghtmare x 10.

This whole move with two men and a truck has been the worse nightmare for me and many times worse then that. After spending days carefully packaging all my materials to ensure that they my property was safe, I decided to enlist the help of two men and a truck to move my boxes for me. They also had a benefit to me where they had a storage that I would be able to use temporarily until my moving place was finalized and I could get everything moved in. My new home would not be ready for 2 weeks, in which I decided to go ahead and pay for a month of storage to help their business. After 8 hours of packing we finally got the moving truck filled and proceeded to their "storage." upon arriving at the storage, it had already looked somewhat abandoned being out and surrounded by abandoned buildings, but I shrugged off my worries mainly due to the fatigue of spending countless days preparing for this move. We unloaded all the boxes into the "storage" , and it was locked with a key which I had no access to and would be unable to access my stuff until there was an available company representative. I breathed a sigh of relief and left to finally go crash after days and days of exhaustion. The nightmare would soon come. The following day at 4PM in the afternoon I received a VOICE MESSAGE stating that the storage had caught fire the previous night. Not only did they not let me know of this right away, they had the nerve to not contact me until the following day!! I was dumbfounded how a business franchise could operate under these kind of regulations. I immediately called to pull out all my belongings out of the storage, but was told that none of my belongings were damaged and I would not be able to take them out until there insurance representative overlooked the building. Of course I was very worried about my belongings but they ensured that the building was now "secure," and my worries were unfounded. I learned how much of a lie this was the following day when they stated that the building had been vandalized that night  and some of it may include my belongings..Not only was there vandalism of my belongings, but I learned that the fire had destroyed many of my items including furniture, books, etc.  To this point I have lost thousands upon thousands worth of belongings yet, they had the audacity to offer me $1000 in re compensation which would only cover the cost of me paying to have my belongings moved to there storage. This has been the worst move I have ever been a part of or even been witness to and Two men and A truck are a business of thieves and liars. I would highly Dis-recommend them for any future potential movers as I would hate for anyone to have gone through what I have.

  15. Incomplete move after paying nearly $700.

I regret that my move with the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK(r) yesterday was an extremely dissatisfied, unsuccessful one. I am a firm believer of local business, which was the reason why I chose the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK(r) company over other moving company which costs less. However, the company failed to deliver what they have promised. In fact, it was a nightmare that one can possibly imagine regarding a move.
My move was regarding a 1000 sq.ft two-bedroom apartment (near the Briarwood Mall in Ann Arbor) move to a two-bedroom condo (near the Meijer in Ann Arbor). Upon arrival to my apartment, the two movers had estimated that it would be approximately 4 hours after reviewing the packed boxes and furniture. However, the service or the lack thereof resulted in a total amount of $685.16 ($112 for a service charge; $550.00 for 5.5 hours of labor; $ 23.16 for moving supplies; and tax)  for an incomplete move.
Yes, an incomplete move after spending nearly $700 and 5 1/2 hours. Surprisingly,  my move is still incomplete. Although the movers estimated approximately 4 hour-move from their review at my apartment upon arrival, they were unable to complete the move after 5.5. hours. Because the federal law bans more than 14 hours of work on a given day, they claimed that they could not continue the move.. My old apartment was left with unloaded furniture and boxes; and my new place was left with the partially moved boxes in the foyer of my new place.
Two things that I feel  that I need to inform the company and the potential customers of this company: First, the movers were extremely unprofessional with regard to job: They made poor decisions that the highly professional movers would not made. For example, they chose a loading place to be far away from the apartment building entrance. The movers claimed that it was based on their opinion so that it would not block the traffic around the apartment building, which was against my suggestions based on my observations of my neighbors' moves. I am not sure whether the decision was to extend and add more hours of service, which would result in more service charge. I do not even want to point that the movers were very slow in doing their job (e.g., making decisions what to do next or where to park, and actually moving, which were all charged for) - at times, one mover carried a part/panel of a table (that my five-year old son could lift) for one trip from the truck to my place..You may guess how the move could take many many hours, which the amount of service charge will be based on. I think that it is a work ethics issue as well.
Second, the movers were unbelievably unprofessional in terms of customer service and communication. After observing that the movers were not efficiently engaging in their moving job, I brought my concerns because the way they worked would consume hours and hours in order to complete the job. One of the movers was extremely rude, saying "I can't do all this" or "..that is your 'opinion'..". Throughout the move, I was shocked that the movers were not professionally trained how to interact with customers..Clearly, the movers were not the "Movers Who Care".
Moving could be a hassle with many unexpected circumstances such as weather and construction..That is why you need a 'reliable' moving company so that their expertise would guide through the move so that they could find the most efficient ways to "complete" the job, a move.
My experience with the Two Men and A Truck proved to be a wrong decision -  they were unable to utilize a necessary professionalism to complete the move. I've read some positive reviews, but it may be a hit-or-miss affair - if you are lucky, you may have movers who knows how to move; Or you will have movers who are not good at their job, a move, from this company 'Two Men and A Truck'. I won't hire this company again even if the movers suggested that they would come back another day/time to complete the "incomplete" move.
Guess what - I've learned that this company is not reliable. Now, I need to find a moving company with "Movers Who Care".
