  1. Stole deposit during covid failed to provide services or reudnd.

    Used covid as an opportunity to continuously delay a move, while lying about operating (offices were closed), kept deposit, failed to show up, thieves. Refuse to provide service and think they can get away with stealing customers money.

    Wow! Michele and his crew were fantastic. The move went quickly, everything ended up where I wanted it, and it came in under estimate. Probably the best moving experience I've ever had. Will suggest everyone to hire them! 5 stars!

  3. Horrible company stay away.

    Horrible service . highly unrecommended .

    Not Honest at all . it has been 1 month and my shipment is still at pick up destination. They advertise themselves as a facilitator but all what they did with me is just selling me lies for 1200$ they took from me as a broker.

    They told me my shipmentwillbedeliveredin 12 days after pick up and now it has been 30 days and still my shipment still at pick up city.

    Was given 4 different days to come pick up my stuff and each day had to leave work early and they did not show up

    Please stay away from this company . and share with all your friends .

    I am so grateful to the most amazing moving team. The American Standard turned to be the best movers in the town. They offered me the best quoted price and were super kind about the few extra boxes/bags I had. They are so fast and so respectful. They work incredibly hard and make your life easy.

    Marry and Micheal did an amazing job. They made sure every piece of furniture (desks, tables, chairs, etc.) was placed down carefully. I HIGHLY recommend them and if you want to have a good time, you need to request Marry and Micheal.

    Let me tell you our nightmare with this company. We had investigated many companies before talking to Mitch, their representative. When we questioned him we asked if they give a veteran’s discount – “yes” – we asked if they farm the moving out to other companies – no – we asked if they unload our furniture and ship it second hand – no – and were told companies who do this have a symbol on their website. How long until delivery? 2-5 days. We went over on the phone every single thing we needed to move from Tennessee to Florida, everything, even a high estimate on the number of boxes. We told him we had a lot of items for sale since we were going from a 4 bedroom home to a 2 bedroom home. He said our moving cost would be 2900 with 1700 down. As we sold items we sent in a new list, very many times we did this. We asked if it would help if we took a load of boxes since we have so many and he said yes, and the move would be recalculated the day of the move and would save us money. So, we rented a UHaul for 1,000 and moved 200 boxes and all of our loose items. We touched base with him the Friday before the move. The move was to be on Monday the 13th. He tells us on Friday they will be coming on Sunday the 12th instead and the drivers would be contacting us, it would be between 9 and 3 p.m.

    We get a call from the drivers, we assumed the same company, saying they were sent out of Chatom, Alabama and should be there around 5. It wasn’t, it was Insta-Movers out of Alabama. They finally showed at 7:30 and they were NOT the same company as he said, they were Insta-Movers. He looks around and says we have way more than they were contracted for. He said they were contracted for 350 sq ft and just a bed is around 100. He starts asking us do we need the bed, etc. We were to pay 580 when they showed and 580 on delivery. He asks can anybody pull a UHaul for us or drive a truck – no. He said he couldn’t get all the boxes on even for what they were contracted for (and they had other people’s stuff on the 26 foot truck, which I could have rented myself for 1,000). He also says there is a long distance fee we weren’t told about, seems odd since the other company knew where we were going. He tells us for 600 more dollars plus 75.00 wrapping fee (a fee we were told was included) he could get the boxes on. He also said the company keeps the 1700 and subcontracts to other companies and that we should have checked local movers (well duhhhhh, we did that). He recommended calling Mitch, who of course didn’t answer the phone. He then recommends calling Teresa, says she is the best to talk to. We call her and tell her the problem and she acts like she of course knows nothing, says she’s never heard of the symbol saying it’s reshipped after the first time, says it’s our fault they only contracted so much since they don’t do in-home estimates. I remind her we sent in the sheets many many times, the last time being Friday. Useless. So instead of paying the secondary company 580 we pay 950 and this is what we had to leave behind: Nightstand, 3 drawer dressing table, glass desk, 2 glass TV stands, a brand new loveseat, 2 end tables, coffee table, curio, microwave. Basically everything we had left. He asks how long did Mitch tell us it would take and separately we told him he said 2-5 days. He tells us 5 to 10 working days and possibly more over the summer, AND that our stuff would be offloaded into a warehouse in Birmingham. He brought with him a Mexican kid who spoke no English who was on the phone the entire time. I had boxes marked that were breakable and he picked them up and just dropped them down on the road. Not once did he hang up the phone. At the end of the night he tells us what it will cost when we get our stuff and I ask if there will be any surprises and he says no. He THEN asks us for a tip, saying it goes a long way. Now keep in mind I just paid 4,000 for a 2900 move without my furniture, and we have nothing left. It’s been a week now and last Wednesday we received a call asking when we would be ready for our stuff and he’s told tomorrow, and he said they will give 24-48 hours notice when THEY are ready and we are still waiting in a home with no furniture since we got screwed out of everything we own.

    I'm moving in a hurry cause of family emergency, and it's been a lot to handle. I've dealt with several moving companie's but Dennis Mitchell with American Standard made it easy and hassell free. If anyone needs help moving or anything relating to it, I recommend American Standard moving and storage and to ask for Dennis Mitchell!! He's the man to deal with!! Thanks again Dennis!!

  8. I’ll be using them again!

    My movers, Mike and Michele, were extremely personable and efficient..I moved from a 3rd floor walk-up, and they generally ran up the stairs in between each load. In addition, at my new location, they were courteous and calm when dealing with my less than pleasant/controlling building manager who was watching their every move.

    Upon reviewing the info on American Standard, I gave American Standard a call. Even with narrow steps to contend with, they expertly navigated heavy pieces of furniture without damaging a single piece. It shows their professionalism and their interest in their work. I am impressed and would love to book them for the next move.

  10. The worse customer service.

    American Standard did NOT move my items. They are a broker with horrible customer service. They quoted me a certain amount but ended up actually charging me $500 more than the quote. The rep William Jameson claimed that this would never happen at his company. Scott was another rep who was extremely rude and refused to let me speak with a mgr. I reached out to a mgr who only contacted me by email to let me know it was best to communicate with her by email, only to never answer my questions or address my issues. Luckily the company US Movers who actually moved my items were much better at customer service. William Jameson gave me his email, and direct number and informed me to contact him for and concerns. He never responded to my emails, text or messages. Once I paid my $500 deposit, that is when American Standard showed who they really are. If the Operations Director Christina Reed treated people like this, I guess I understand why the rest of the employees are so rude and lack customer service. If I could go back, I would’ve never spoken with these crooks. Do yourself a favor and choose a different moving company. Avoid brokers altogether and contact US movers directly.

    I love these guys! They have helped me move 5 or 6 times now. They are totally dependable, organized and professional. They are also affordable! My go-to company. I will surely recommend American Standard and Movers. Wish could give them more than 5 stars!

  12. SCAM Don't use this company!!

    Don't believe a word they say from the start. Our sales person gave us a quote of 3,000 dollars for moving from MN to FL wich ended up costing 9, 000$!

    That was not the worst part. The movers promised they would pick our stuff up by June 25th so everything was out by June 26th the date our buyers were moving in. They did not show up until 11:30 pm on June 25th and were not finished until 6 in the morning the day of closing leaving no time to clean for the new owners of our house. This made for a very stressful situation.

    The worst part of the situation is our sales person told us there would be no problem getting our stuff delivered by June 30th to our new house in Florida. When the moving company picked up our stuff, they said it would be 10-21 buisness days until they could start delivering. That was never told to us . I would have never used this company if we new it would take that long. We are currently on week 2 in FL with literally nothing to live on/ beds/ couches/ things needed for work. We have heard no word on when we are getting our stuff and when I call we are told they are working on the schedule but are very backed up so they don't know when it will happen. This is such a hard thing for our family to go through, living on the other side of the country not knowing anyone and having nothing. I don't want anyone else to go through what we have so DO NOT USE AMERICAN STANDARDS for moving!

  13. Misleading.

    In May of 2020 I started looking for a moving company to move my mother from from another state. I asked for a quote online and a representative contacted me. He asked me the size of my mothers house and got a quick list of the items, but I told him I didn't have a accurate list yet. he said that would be okay that the company would call a few days before to get a list. he gave me a quote around $1,500 and he would need $600 up front. I told him I would get back to him. I went on the site to read reviews and read that customers were charged more for the items when the truck arrived so I call him back and asked him about it and her reassured me it would fit or he would send another truck the day of the move free of cost. His name was Mitch and by him saying that we felt confident about it and put the deposit down. well 3 days before the move which was 3 months later the called to get a list of items and my price went from $1,500 to $2,600. and that was only for 500 cubic feet. and I was upset about that, but the day the truck got there it was a 28 foot box truck that was already a quarter way full and he walked through the house doing a count and said it would be, 1,800 cubic feet and for us to have the remaining space in the truck it would be $6,700. that would not even fit the whole house and if we wanted everything he would have to call for another truck and it would cost $11,000. the amount of space that I was first quoted for was 300 cubic feet and $1,500. We couldn't pay what they were wanting so we had to take a $600 loss on the deposit and were stuff with no one to move it. It was the worst experience ever. We were mislead and this could of all been avoided if the company would of sent out a representaive to see what we have before they gave us a quote but the company doesn't do that. I tried call the company the day of the move but it was a saterday and I spoke with a woman that was rude and spoke over me and wouldn't let me explane anything. She told me ma'am ( You don't go to the movies and get the popcorn for free) Dont Use the company! Mitch the sales rep didn't care. He just wanted a sale and said what ever he had to to get it and it was wrong.

  14. Recommended!!

    They were right on time, and communication was clear and direct throughout. They made sure we knew what they were doing, how long everything would take, and that they were doing everything we needed. Michelle made us feel at ease and like we were in good hands. Overall I am very happy with how my move went. The most important part is all my furniture is still intact and nothing was lost.

  15. Do Not Use!!

    We are using these guys and when we were told that it would be here in a few days after pick up on the phone and that is not the case when I have called they are rude and not helpful, when they pick up the items they told my mom that she did not have to pay and then the office said it was wrong we needed to send payment they will not take payment over the phone or via electric wire just cashiers check very weird in this age where everyone takes CC payment. I ask for a supervisor would not transfer me to one. we now can't do nothing about it and have to wait to see when they feel like Delivering the items.. THEY TELL YOU SOMETHING OVER THE PHONE AND IN CONTRACT THEY PUT SOMETHING DIFFERENT. DO NOT USE.
