1. Won’t refund Money.

   Canceled move same day set up after paying $2420.00 Deposit. 74 days later No refund. Won’t take my calls gave me the run around when they did at first. Poor customer service. A Fraudulent company.

2. Run from this company.

   The salesperson called and told me all the great things I wanted to hear..but then reality showed up. We needed the movers to be at our home in California on a specific date and time for very valid reasons..was told it would happen on schedule. But after paying the deposit I received a call from a guy who barely spoke English. He said we were on his schedule to pick up on the day after the agreed upon day and later in the evening rather than the early morning time originally agreed upon. After the frustration of the scheduling debacle..was then told our furniture and other belongings would not show up at our new residence for two weeks..2 WEEKS!! So we were supposed to sit in an empty house with no belongings for 2 weeks? Not acceptable especially when we both work from home and need our desk's and other furniture. We were lied to and then denied a refund..this company stole almost $600 from us based on misleading and lying. RUN FROM THEM!

3. Scam - do not do this to yourself.

   Charged me $1000 non-refundable deposit. Sent a moving company that couldn't fit all my stuff so they just left half of it. The movers also tried to charge me extra, even though I had LESS than what was estimated on the phone.
   
   Spent almost 2 grand to move a single bedroom apartment, I wanted to save my friends and family the headache.
   
   It was a nightmare. Just go directly to a local company. These people charged me $1000 and all they did was call a moving company, give them a bad estimate. Total and complete rip off.

4. Absolutely recommed!!

   Great moving company . It was a huge move and everything went off extremely well. The team showed up on time, each item was carefully wrapped. All pieces were very well protected. The team worked well together and would not hesitate to hire the company again.

5. Recommended!

   My only word of advice is to check how far their head office is from your location. The moving charge starts from when they leave their office to your place and then there is a charge from your place back to their head office. Overall it was great.

6. American Standard review.

   American Standard is NOT a moving company. They are a 'broker' who then hires out your move to one or two other companies. We had two. One took the items to storage in Chicago. 2nd company moved them 5 weeks later to Texas. Neither of them represented American Standard, so when you try to mention differing information that the salesman had told you, they know nothing about it.. (another problem)
   
   My main objection to American Standard is that they are cleverly deceptive and NOT transparent with the information they give you. They don't explain that they are a broker, their way of estimating costs is very flawed, and they give you false information. One example: we specifically asked them "What will happen if all of our items won't fit in the truck you send?" They replied: "Don't worry about it, we'll just send another truck."
   
   In the end--we ended up paying 3 TIMES their original quote! But by then, we had no alternative--it was 5 days before the move, and then the day of the move. Too late to hire our own truck, or another company.
   
   Here are 4 specific things I disliked about their salesmen:
   
   1) ORIGINAL BOOKING: They have you guess several months beforehand, how much you will be packing. Although we knew which furniture we were taking, there was no way we could accurately guess how many boxes (and what sizes ) we would end up with. The salesman said: "Oh don't worry about it--we always over estimate on the weight of the furniture--you'll be fine." His original estimate was $3670 and 5,009 LBs. (716 cubic ft.)
   
   2) 5 DAYS BEFORE MOVE DATE--their company called me to get a FINAL count on our furniture and our boxes. By then we had 200 boxes, but our furniture was as before. Our price was now $7,700--more than DOUBLE., and 8838 Lbs. (1263 cubic ft.)
   
   3) DAY OF THE MOVE: Once the crew arrived and had filled their 24' truck, there were still a number of leftover items that would NOT fit in it. They would NOT get us another truck, AND they now changed our charge to $9,700 based on a full truck weight (I don't recall the poundage, but 1850 cubic ft.). We were also stuck with the additional items and had to get on the phone the next morning and try to find a rental truck we could drive ourselves-which was an ADDITIONAL $1,500. Making our GRAND MOVING TOTAL: $11,200. (We also had to rent a platform to tow our 2nd car behind the rental truck--now that my husband would be driving the truck and not our car).
   
   4) We DID have an additional 33 boxes more than we had had on Saturday--but that was because the American Standard salesman had told us that we could leave our drawers and cabinets full. The actual moving foreman on the day of the move, said 'No way!!" and made us repack all those items on the spot. Those additional boxes made their truck too full for the rest of our items! More false information American Standard had given us. INTERESTINGLY: When the second moving company delivered our items in Texas (from the Chicago storage center), their 24' truck was only 3/4 full, instead of completely full. Different folks had packed it this time, and made it fit much better! If that had happened on the day of the move, we wouldn't have had to rent an additional truck.
   
   We tried calling American Standard, that day, the next day, and several times thereafter, to see if they would kindly wave at least SOME of the additional charges. Although the original salesman said he would help us get back the last bump in fees, he never did, and the others I talked to in customer service were very hard-nosed about the final price. Nothing was changed.
   
   If all of the information had been correctly presented by our salesman (You might weigh a lot more than this--our estimates can be under, you can't leave your drawers and cabinets full, and we won't send you an extra truck if you're over) -we would NEVER have signed up with them. BEWARE!!

   

7. Best Movers!!

   For the first time, I can honestly say I had a great moving experience. American Standard Moving was super responsive and proactive, from my initial information request, through the quote, pre-move follow-ups and day-of experience, they were amazing. William and his crew arrived promptly, moved me very quickly, but also very carefully and exceedingly professional the entire time. I highly recommend American Standard Moving for an easy moving experience!!

8. Nice Job!!

   American Standard Moving is wonderful! The guys came right on time. They were quick, friendly and very efficient. We so appreciate how great they are and would definitely recommend them.

9. Deliberate lier.

   When I asked Kevin about delivery window, he told me that he can't guarantee exact day, however, if my goods will not be delivered on time and I need to rent a hotel for my family, the company will reimburse for it up to 150$ per day. It was Friday at 17:00. So, I was happy and paid deposit. Then when I finally found time to go through multiple pages of contract on Wednesday there were nothing about it in the contract. I called customer service and they denied such a policy. I requested a refund, however, they denied it as well.
   
   So, in the end, one of their company employees lied to me to made me sign the contract and the company refused to accept responsibility for it and covered it up.
   
   Very unprofessional!

10. Impressed!!

    I had got a great experience with American Standard Moving . These people are highly recommended! They are super communicative and super-fast. They are reasonable and affordable. I was shocked to see such services. They worked so quickly and effortlessly. I will work with them again!

11. Amazing Mover!!

    American Standard Moving was fantastic to work with! They answered all questions professionally and promptly and helped us to facilitate a logistically complicated move in a very short period of time. I would recommend them time and time again.

12. Best movers!

    Absolutely excellent service and at an excellent price. Hard-working and efficient movers. If you are considering moving house or offices, these guys should be your first call.

13. Poor communication.

    I knew the move I was trying to schedule would be difficult, and I did my best to convey that when I spoke to Jason on the phone. He assured me he would send a team that could deal with the tight elevator schedule, and my shipment could be warehoused in my new home town while I house hunted, and delivered when I found a home. He gave me his number so I could reach him with questions without going through the dispatch number. After that, he never answered any of my calls or replied to messages.
    
    The movers were scheduled on the wrong day, and I had to wrestle for a new elevator appointment. One dispatcher told me the movers would be there an hour early for the new appointment. They were two hours late. I called back, and another dispatcher told me that the time was not when they would work, but a window of time during which they might arrive. I was running boxes and furniture down the hall myself, trying to get it all in the loading dock before my elevator time ran out. When the movers showed up, they were in no hurry. When the work was nearly complete, and I was being hollered at by the elevator czar from the property management office, the moving crew stopped for a break. In the end, I did about half of the heavy lifting myself.
    
    When I arrived at the new town, and found a home, I called to try to schedule a delivery date. Everything Jason said about moving things to the new town for a quick delivery went out the window. After three weeks, everything was still in the wrong state. I was told they'd get it on a truck in about a week, and then it might take two to four weeks to arrive, but they would call 24 hours ahead of arrival. All I could do was let my employer know I would need a day off on short notice between now and the end of time. The good news is that it only took a few days, not two to four weeks, between the time the shipment was on the road and the delivery. I was given 16 hours notice.
    
    When the shipment arrived, the people who moved it were careful and professional. Of course, by that time the damage had been done. There were some broken plates, and a few missing items. Many of the boxes and some of the furniture had been damaged.

14. Do Not Use This Company!

    My husband and I recently relocated from Colorado to North Carolina. I was, of course, looking for the most reasonable cost for this move, and looked into many companies. The sales rep from Am Standard was nice enough, but when I was hesitant to move forward with making a final decision, he switched me to another rep that really increased the pressure to sign, which should have been my first red flag.
    
    I had given them the list of all our furniture and appliances, an approximate box count, and our quote was $12,000, minus an ENORMOUS discount of 65%, bringing the total down to $5700. Of course, this was the best price I was able to find, so I signed with them. The discounted amount should have been red flag #2.
    
    The day the movers showed up, it was not a truck from American standard, as expected, THEY BROKER THEIR MOVE OUT AND DO NOT TELL YOU! The foreman sits down with me, and with his nifty pencil, gives me a final price of $12,400. I about fell off my chair! No, I explained, I have a written price of $5700 from American Standard. He says, oh, that is nothing, this is how we calculate your cost, and explains it to me. Here I am, three days before we must have the house empty and cleaned for the buyers, and be on our way to our new home, six states away. I got right on the phone with Am Standard, and was going to straighten this problem out-Only, my salesman is not available! I am only allowed to speak to a customer service rep who knows nothing about our move.
    
    I explained what was happening, and she was very sympathetic, even offered to refund $450.00 (which, of course I never got!) The foreman, in the meantime, called his boss, and got $2000 taken of the total cost. I was backed into a corner- no time at this point to shop around for another mover, was not able to reach the Am Standard sales team, and this mover was not loading a box on his truck until I signed his contract. After several calls to my husband at work, we decided to sign, and contact a lawyer once we got to North Carolina. This was classic bait and switch, and there was no way out!
    
    The movers were very good at their jobs, I will say, and they did wrap all our furniture very well. There wasn't a single item broken or missing, and no damage to any piece of our furniture.
    
    On the other end, our belongings were supposed to arrive on Sept 2. When I called on Sept 1 to confirm their arrival time, I was informed they had up to THREE WEEKS past the date I was promised to deliver our belongings, which was explained to me by my movers (this was a complete surprise, and was definitely not explained!)
    
    We ate off paper plates and slept on an inflatable mattress for the next two weeks, until our belongings arrived on Sept 14.
    
    We have now settled into our new home, but this is not over.

15. Very Nice!!

    Mike and his team and american stand moving and storage have helped me move several times over the past few years. On the day of the move, the team arrived early and was very friendly, careful and efficient. Highly Recommended!
