  1. Shenstone to Cornwall.

My wife and I have moved house several times during our time together and we both know the process can be very stressful and heart breaking sometimes when things go wrong. With our recent move from Shenstone to Cornwall we decided to use a local firm called Movecorp and found them to be very competitive pricewise and by assigning me a personal move coordinator found it was very easy to get answers to our questions and updates. The communication, before, during and after the move were excellent along with the care taken when packing and unpacking our belongings. We have recommended them to family and friends and believe they already have repeat business from our recommendation. Excellent service thank you.

  2. Midlothian to Turin.

Just like to say a big thank to the Movecorp staff after our recent move from Scotland to Italy. The removal team were polite, listened to what we wanted and were very hardworking, we did keep the tea/coffee/pop and biscuits flowing all morning so that may of helped? Friends of ours had used them before and said how pleased they were so we gave them a try and I am glad to say that they were brilliant. Their packing service was excellent, took a lot of the time and effort of us and was well worth the little extra. All our possessions were well looked after and arrived in Turin, on the 13th day after collection as promised, with no breakages and a smile and thank you from the driver as the van left. Like our friends, we would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone looking for an excellent removal company.

  3. Thank you so much for taking the stress out.

I don't often write a review however Movecorp deserve a thank for taking the stress out of my move, the move coordinator James was always there to answer any of my questions and help complete any forms and the removal team where kind and couretours on the collection and delivery day and had a can do attitude.I wil recomend Movecorp to any one and will use them again when we come back from sunny France.

  4. Unpleasant to work with / Damages found.

As two busy professionals, we were hoping the company taking care of the move actually took control of this process and made us feel comfortable by staying on top of things. In the end it was more of a case that we had to manage them (quotation, time/date, insurance, etc) than them managing the process. And this is even more awkward because we prepared the move ourselves to the detail - boxes were ready and conveniently placed for quick pick-up, and hardly no furniture). Next to the difficulties communicating with them, the condition of our belongings when we received the items was poor. We had several damaged items, even in boxes where we had bubblewrapped items carefully and labelled boxes 'very fragile'. As a result of this lack of Movecorps' care, we found scratches in the wood of the furniture, broken bowls and ceramics. And when highlighting the damages to them we couldn't apply for the general insurance related to the contract as we packed the boxes ourselves. All in all a really unpleasant experience with bad customer service.

  5. Not Recommended.

My situation is exactly the same as Natalie, one of the reviewers below. In fact, I believe that our things were in the same container as our timeline is the same and we also moved from London to California.
As other reviewers have said, the pick-up guys and delivery guys were awesome on both sides - professional and pleasant.  This is the only good thing about movecorp.
It took 20 weeks for my boxes (only 6 of them) to get delivered.  Like others, I was given no updates until I emailed them. The responses were a little terse - I'm guessing they must get annoyed with customers asking for updates and showing concern for their things.
My boxes finally got delivered today. The boxes are pretty battered but everything seems to be there and nothing broken, luckily.
One thing that was alarming was that the US agent called me to ask me to resend all the customs documentation to them as the copies they'd received from the UK were illegible. Taking into account that you can't get your things in the USA if you don't have the correct paperwork, this seems to be like a supreme fail.
Definitely not using them again and definitely wouldn't recommend them. There are tonnes of moving companies out there so my advice would be to use one of them.

  6. Downhill service.

All wne t well to start with. A good price, on time pick up, well packed. They put into storage as its a shippment to australia. They managed to lose a box, but sent a different one. But there is more, whilst in storage they renumbered every box in the shipment. They also repacked some boxes, it sounds dodgy, suspect theft as only stuff of value was missing. They still haven't told me the box is offically missing yet. They expect me to claim on the insurance I took out, we will see.

  7. Removal to France.

I was happy with the service. The pick-up was on time as was delivery. No damage to my boxes. You have to bear in mind that when you have a small removal the company will part load your stuff into a truck with other removals, which makes it difficult for them to tell the day of delivery at the time of booking. I was told about 5 days before delivery on which day of the following week delivery would take place. Overall a very positive experience. I paid  £540 for 25 boxes plus some small furniture which I found rather cheap compared to other offers.

  8. 2 month delay and 400 pounds in extra hidden fees.

I had my belongings shipped from Oslo, Norway to Seattle, USA. After 5 months I am still waiting. I expected my things to arrive around the 20th of September, it is already two months past the delivery date and my shippment hasn't arrived yet. I already paid 400 pounds in extra hidden costs in addition to the full payment I had to give all the way back in June. Do not use Movecorp, they are really not a good company to work with. I should have paid more attention to their reviews and choosen another company.

  9. Held to Randsom.

My move was from Milan, Italy to Scotland, the men that picked up my belongings were fantastic. I had paid for 420 sq ft, £2350.00 in advance, the head man on the truck said I was within the limit of 420 sq. feet, as did my friend who has a Degree in Applied Science, and Finance. They picked my belongings up the 18th October 2013, which was fine I was leaving on the 30th, and had booked a storage unit in Scotland. I arrived and my belongings were still in Birmingham, basicaly I was held to randsom, they now said it was 580 sq. ft. and to get my stuff I had to fork out another almost £800 pounds.I finaly received my belongings on the 14th November. The Scottish company that delivered my stuff said they had had many complaints about Movecorp. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY, my heart goes out to the truck drivers who were so good, they deserve to work for a better company. I must add I did the packing myself with rienforced boxes and hired a hoist at  the cost of €400, basicaly the men took my stuff from the pavement to the truck. Judge by yourselves from my experience.

  10. Removal.

I think the adage that you get what you pay for is in this case very true ie cheap = cheap and shoddy service. I paid a total of £750 for my move from Manchester to Sitges in Spain. The collection date was agreed as the 18th September and they sent one driver to collect the contents of a 2 bedroom apartment. I therefore had to help him load all of my belongings onto the truck, talk about DIY removal. In their emails they stated a delivery time of 7 - 14 days which instead was 49 days in total. Disgusting. My belongings indeed turn up, undamaged, a day later than promised. They were supposed to turn up on the Tuesday and instead arrived on the Wednesday. I would never use Movecorp again and I find it difficult to believe that there are positive reviews on here. I did indeed get what I paid for..cheap and shoddy service.

  11. Delivery of piano to isolated village.

The men were brilliant!  The office administration was very efficient.  However the communication within the company was not good.  We live in an isolated area of France where Sat Nav is a hindrance rather than a help.  We offered detailed access instructions but the office were not interested.  The men, as I anticipated, found themselves on a one track road but luckily rang us and managed to reverse before they got completely stuck.  My delivery included a small but reasonably heavy upright piano.  At the Durham end Ed, Fraizer and Jamie were swift and efficient but found getting the piano out of the house onto the lorry extremely difficult.  There was no ramp nor trolley.  I asked for there to be a ramp at the France end.  The men at Durham promised to inform the office. At the France end, the delivery was late because the office had failed to consider an annual bank holiday. The men had no ramp nor had they been informed that it was a first floor delivery. Richard and Stuart, along with my husband, strained themselves to the limit to get the piano up the steps to the first floor. I have been assured that if my load is under the volume paid for (which I am almost certain it is) I will be refunded the balance. Would I recommend the company?  Yes, but if there are exceptional circumstances, I suggest that you be extremely assertive with the office as regards detailed instructions.

  12. Movecorp.

I would not use or recommend this removal agency, the salesperson agreed a specific date to have our furniture shipped to our holiday home in Spain and we booked flights accordingly. The actual removal company itself was excellent they collected on the day specified at 8 o'clock rather than in the afternoon as Movecorp had instructed me - but this was not a problem. During the afternoon when all our furniture was in a removal van and had left our house, Movecorp emailed saying it would not be leaving the UK as agreed but a week later. As delivery then would have been after our scheduled time in Spain it was not good enough. I found the salesperson very unhelpful and was left for four days wondering when our items would be shipped. Eventually after numerous calls from me to them and speaking to the manager who again had the 'nothing I can do attitude' I was told the shipment date would be a week later and they could not give a specific delivery date. At one time I was expected to be in Spain waiting for three weeks for delivery, this whole procedure left me incredibly stressed and I was unable to change flights as I had no specific dates from Movecorp. Again the actual removal company who delivered my furniture was excellent. In future I would go direct to a specific removal company and not involve Movecorp at all.
Pick up from Guildford UK delivery Estepona Spain - this is not available in the drop down selection on the form.

  13. London to Dubai.

Don't know what happened with the customer of the previous review but perhaps we have been lucky when we have used Movecorp? But in saying that this was our fifth time of using Movecorp and our fifth time of being highly delighted with yet another superbly handled move so that can't all be down to luck. They always take the stress out of the process and ensure our items arrive at the stated time, intact and undamaged as well as keeping us informed at every stage of the process and only supplying information that we need to know. We can never understand why the company do not always use them but their loss is our gain. See you soon no doubt.

  14. Fake 5 star reviews.

All these 5 star reviews have to be fake. Notice how everybody is so very delighted with their service that they just have to get online and praise MoveCorp with superlative after superlative. From my experience, good service generally passes without comment whereas bad service gets slated. Notice also that reviews are either 5 stars or 1 star, nothing in between, again leading me to suspect that the 5 stars are fake, especially when you take a look at the website Ripoff Report which details a rather different analysis of MoveCorp, one which reflects my experiences with them: http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/directory/movecorp . I would strongly advise anybody thinking of using this terrible firm to read it.

  15. Thanks to everyone at Movecorp.

We would just like to say how impressed we were with your company carrying out our move. It was a pleasure to deal with people who do what they say they will do, the move, price, times, all adhered to and consideration and carefulness was part of the job. We would have no hesitation in using you again and recommending you would be easy as we know how good you have been.
