  1. This company is a sad excuse for a mover

Everything that could be damaged was !!! Stuff thrown into large boxes and we were charged a hefty packing fee ! Everything ruined - books , furniture, glassware, dishes - everything but clothing!!! Worst move ever and we’ve had many !!!! Do NOT hire this company!

  2. Terrible and unreliable company

WARNING, DELIVERY FROM ONTARIO TO VICTORIA,

Take your furniture yourself or sell it all before even thinking to give ATLANTIC VAN LINES a chance to deliver your stuff. They are cheaters, untrustworthy, unreliable and anything they promise is a LIE. DO NOT TRUST THEM, please. This company should not be in business

  3. Super unprofessional

I’d give them zero stars, if I could. They don’t communicate any changes. Try to charge you more after manipulating the no. Of boxes required to move.

Very very unprofessional, got our order late due to floods but never informed until we reached out to see where our shipment is.

    No apologies no communication sent

Some hidden charges can be expected

  4. Crooks and Liars

I used them on a move from Ontario to BC in October 2021. There were not forthcoming with additional charges and once they arrive and start putting your stuff on the truck they hit you with extra costs ( for stairs, for bags to cover your furniture) These people have been in business a long time, it’s just super shady how they can’t be upfront and say these are things you will be charged for.

Then when they come do drop off my furniture I am hit again with additional fees for stairs. To which I repeatedly asked both Atlantic Van Lines rep Jen were there any additional charges and she said no. I asked her multiple times are there any other fees for stairs etc. she replied no. So the gentleman who called to confirm my delivery asked if I booked an elevator. To which I replied we do not have an elevator you have to use the stairs. His response was “ oh I see you have already paid for stairs so your good”. So the movers arrive and when they see the stairs they tell me 250.00 more and will not take my stuff off the truck. They also tell me total for the bill, which was 200.00 more than the guy told me the night before on the phone. So of course I try to call this gentleman and surprise no answer. I call Atlantic Van Lines and surprise Jen is not working. I then spoke with the rudest lady ever who started to tell me “you knew full well” that you had to pay for stairs??? How would she k ow what I knew I never spoke to this ignorant person before in my life! Anyway long and short of it they dropped my furniture at the door and we carried it in ourselves.

Just super shady, unprofessional and rude! Hire anyone else. If these people cannot be upfront and honest with their customers and say hey these things are extra then it wouldn’t feel like you are being ripped off when they ask for more money. A situation that well could have been avoided if people had have been able to communicate effectively and honestly.

  5. DO NOT USE / TRUST THE REVIEWS

Unfortunately I didn’t read the reviews first. Calgary to NS, price doubled from what I was quoted to what I actually paid. Atlantic damaged just about every piece of furniture I had, lost a few of my boxes but I gained a few of someone else’s. The best part was , the delivery truck on the NS end was a 53 ‘ semi which decided on his own that he could drive across the neighbours front yard to get to my garage. He was struck for about an hour before getting a tow out, tore the yard all to pieces and said Atlantic would cover the damage. When I contacted Atlantic , they told me my neighbours insurance would have to cover it . This company is the biggest joke out there, I wish I could post pics just to show you what the idiots did to the yard. For god sakes ppl , listen to these reviews, if not mine everyone else’s. I really don’t know how companies like this are allowed to operate.

  6. WARNING DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Their price kept changing and they kept increasing the weight. They are very careless with your stuff and don’t give a damn if they damage it because they have no intention of paying you the value. I shipped 3 pieces of antique furniture, 10 boxes and 25 bins - furniture arrived broken and almost all the bins were damaged. One box was even ripped open. Very expensive move from Ontario to BC especially when most of it arrived broken and damaged. They asked me to fill out a claim and put the cost of each item - that as a waste of time! They pay you sixty cents a pound and then tell you there is a deductible - total bullshit! To add insult to injury they offered me $20 for the damage to my 200 year old buffet. NEVER EVER AGAIN! They deserve a minus 10 rating.

  7. Don't get fooled by their slick website, they are dishonest.

Once these clowns have your deposit you are a hostage. They request a list of goods then refer you to "dispatch" to wait for their call. It comes in the day before with a demand for additional funds ($2000) in my case or they won't show. Like you have any choice! They cram your goods in a beat up leased truck with sub contracted help. Once they leave your house, the calls begin. " Your goods are overweight and you have to pay more. Later in the day a second call, again a higher weight guess. They jumped from 8000-10000 to 16000 to 20000 lbs. Then the last call comes. Hooray, you came under the estimate on scale so you only pay for 20000 lbs. And because you are under, no scale documents will be provided. This is only the beginning...Once they are gone with your stuff, they say they don't know where your belongings are or when they will arrive. Again, wait for a "dispatch" call the day before delivery. In our case it took 2 weeks. When their next subcontractors showed up with our goods they demanded $2000 cash on the spot or they would not go up any stairs. We declined. They offloaded as fast as possible leaving about 25 boxes(as pictured) outside. Then left.

We had 2 large screen tvs smashed. About 20 other items well packaged crushed. Broken furniture. Upon reporting it Jenn KIRSH reappears and empathetically writes that their claims specialist Heidi Kleitz will process the claim in 8-10 weeks. And right on schedule after 11 weeks she offers $30 if you sign off on the $1000's of damage.

    So, to summarize...

-The free storage came with a $295 charge

-no official weightscale documents or invoices were provided

    - no timelines are assured/ they evade the question until they have your goods. Then it is a "dispatch " issue.

    - weight estimates were increased 250%

-damages although excessive are adjudicated at 60 cents per pound. So a 20 lb TV is worth $ 12 in compensation(unless you purchase their extra special insurance). They accept no responsibility for their reckless disregard of your valuables.

But wait, there is a $325 deductible so they claim I owe them $233.20 for their negligence! As a sign of their goodwill, they offered me that feelgood comprehensive offer of a $30 refund. Industry leading for sure.

Movers claim they know nothing of Atlantic and just move goods.

-Charged 15% hst on full value for move from Ontario to Nova Scotia + additional 3% for payment by credit card

It's all been said before. Google the CBC Marketplace show on them. Scammers.

Jenn Kirsh and Heidi Kleitz hide from social media. Maybe a touch paranoid?

Corporate address is a strip mall in Scarborough. No office you can visit.

    No BBB affiliation.

Shame on me for not doing better research. Others before me had the same experience. This Company needs to come clean and provide honesty and clarity in their operations. Oh wait, they donate a portion of your money to the Children's Wish charity!!! How Corporately responsible of them!

  8. A Company with liars and fraud people

Atlantic Van line is a company managed by criminals in law. They give you the preliminary estimate, and after you pay a non-refundable deposit of 500 $, they increase the weight 2-3 times, without giving you Government-certified scaling though they charge 50$ for that. I am surprised how a well-organized cheater, a financially criminal company working in Canada for so many years. There are hundreds of reviews about their cheating and fraud activities on the website. I used the company to send my 2-bed apartment items from Montreal to Edmonton, they initially gave an estimate for 2000 lbs., 1060 $, after I paid a non-refundable $ 500, they estimated 2574 lbs.- 1364$. When I booked item’s pickup date, they gave an estimate of 3920 lbs., 2077 $. When they have collected the items, they gave an estimate of 6725 lbs., 3918 $. They never gave me the certificate of scaling, when I asked they were silent. They took 6725 lbs. from my apartment and delivered 6125 lbs., items for beds are lost and I cannot assemble two beds. I have all documents to prove their financial cheating. So, those who are cheated by this company file a complaint on the Canada Government website, link https://www.consumerbeware.mgs.gov.on.ca/esearch/compform/english/complaint.jsp? I am filing a complaint, if anyone wants to share with me their info or submit a complaint I will support it. My email is mozzam3@gmail.com

  9. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY

THIS IS THE WORST MOVING COMPANY WE HAVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH. WE PAID A LOT EXTRA FOR THEM TO PACK OUR THINGS AND THE MOVERS JUST SHOVED THINGS IN BOXES, THEY PUT THE TOILET PLUNGER WHICH WE TOLD THEM NOT TO PACK IN WITH OUR UNWRAPPED DISHES, THEY DAMAGED OUR COUCH, A FUTON, 2 LAMPS AN IPAD AND NUMEROUS OTHER THINGS. THEN AFTER WAITING 11 WEEKS FOR A CLAIMS RESPONSE THEY OFFERED US $30 COMPENSATION. They staff are horrible and not helpful and the movers also damaged property in the building we were moving out of and we found one of the guys sleeping in the truck after showing up 3 hours late. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

  10. Worst company with fraud people

They lie and misguude you . After taking your money, they will change their words.

They broke my furniture, lost my boxes and after 3 months of inquiry, they emailed me that I have -220 CAD due, mean I have ro pay them for breaking my furniture and missing my boxes.

Totally fraud people. Never trust these people

  11. THIEVES!!!!! MY BOX NEVER CAME

WHO WANTS TO JOIN ME SUE THIS SCAMMERS? I think if we all make a complain against this scam artists, we’ll get our justice.

I’m warning you, this is one of the greatest regret of my life. I lost all of my important stuff, all those things that money can never replace. I never received one of my boxes. And all the boxes that came to me were soaking wet and ripped open.

Now they’re offering a $30 settlement and once you sign, you are agreeing to forever discharge them from this matter. DO NOT SIGN IT. Save all the documents you have.

I also checked the address the have on their site and it’s a vacant lot. They’re not registered on google maps as well.

  12. How I beat Atlantic SCAM lines, I mean van lines.

How I beat Atlantic SCAM Lines, I mean Van lines.

Long story short, they trashed my belongings, were late for delivery and tried to charge me thousands of dollars extra than what I was quoted.

In the end, I received all my belongings at no additional cost after a long and dreadful battle.

How did I beat them? Well, I caught them in three lies, lies that come from the top level of management all the way to the bottom. This company is the worst time of company you can imaging.

One key way to get out of paying for their scam is to request the weight ticket that is supposed to be issued to you on site when the truck driver picks up your belongings. If they do not provide this, they cannot charge you additional weight charges.

That was the main lie that allowed me to get out of paying a huge amount of money. Good luck to anyone using their service. You are going to need it.

  13. Absolutely deplorable experience (and I never write bad reviews).

Absolutely deplorable experience (and I never write bad reviews). The company was to move my condo from Toronto to Calgary. They estimated 2 weeks and $1,100. They delivered more than two weeks late and charged 70% more than they quoted, which I had to pay BEFORE receiving my things. 4/50 boxes never arrived and several of my things were completely destroyed. They have not responded to either the missing items or compensation for destroyed property.

  14. PLEASE DO NOT USE - RIP-OFF

Their actual movers are good but we’ll underpaid. After they loaded the truck, they demanded pay before unloading, then proceeded to tall me they don’t deliver marked boxes up or down stairs. There was a second load that they wanted to charge me an xtra $4,000 for but I cut my losses and sent them on their way

This company will rip you off

  15. Cross Canada move fiasco

I will never recommend this company to anyone. They damaged or lost at least 3 of my items. They took well over a month to move my stuff across country. To my own error in judgement, they overcharged me for my load as I was ignorant to the minimum weight charge. So for twice as much as I thought I'd spend, I now have a broken boxspring and bicycle, that took 40 days to arrive.

Also, without any real notice of arrival, I was left trying to coordinate payment to them without paying with credit card as it would cost an additional 3% to charge it. Unfortunately I was out of province for work and only made things more difficult.

    Never again.
