  1. Completely dishonest.

We learned very quickly that anything these people said on the phone was worthless if it wasn't confirmed via email - which means they never once confirmed what they said on the phone with hard print proof via email. The last example was being told that we were due a refund of $510 for not delivering within their promised date range. Also, they never responded to our certified mail outlining our claim for damages and lost items. To anyone thinking about using these people, These are the type of people for which the term caveat emptor came to be. I and many others have warned you.

  2. I will not get these movers again.

I would not get these people again. The movers were not careful how they packed lamp shades, broke the arm on the lamp, and on my tripod camera holder broke the slider that it could move up or down on, broke 2 wheels on my dinning room buffet table. Never, Never, again, also didn't figure the whole total move correct, and had me pay for extra u-haul truck so the could haul it to there main truck because they couldn't get in my apt. complex. Why didn't they know that from the beginning. Never, again I am a senior citizen, what a rip off. I had to fix things my self. they said I had to get the papers notarize. A lot of work, I would have to get a lawyer.

  3. Good company.

I moved with them more than a year ago but still have a good feeling. Recently my new neighbors moved in the apartment below. They left a mess in the elevator, movers smelled like they never seen shower and they were swearing left and right. I remember when I moved with LDRS guys were professional, clean and well spoken. My interactions with their office was very helpful and informative. I fill so good that I moved with them.

  4. Move from chicago to florida.

Horrible. Horrible horrible. Just about everything that others experienced. No respect. Non professionalism. They do not stand by their words and horrible customer service. They picked up our stuff on two diff trucks. Our stuff stood in warehouse for 2 months before it was delivered. 5-6 lost boxes and wet mattresses. One lost item was irreplaceable. My daughters school medals and trophies They show no compassion. Tons of stuff was damaged and they reimbursed us $130. I would never recommend these people and would stop someone from iusing them. Already spreading the word.

  5. Horrible Company! Would give lower rating if I could!

The first quote we received was $6466.00, then it was increased to $8145.45 because they had “left out certain items” which we did tell them about. Then the day of the move, AFTER our items were packed onto the truck, they inform us the final price was $16767.50!

The movers showed up a day early to our house, so we were scrambling to get the last of our things packed up - finally just conceding and paying the extra fee for them to complete the pack..this proved to be a "so-so" decision. Our closing now had been pushed by 2 weeks and of course they could store our stuff, but it would be an additional $2,800.

The price of the move doubled (even without the packing) from the original quote. We had clothes and a piano that we didn't tell them about (by the way, we did). But what are we going to do, have them take the things already on the truck off and then find another mover in a few hours?? Lesson learned, ALWAYS READ THE 30 pages of fine print associated with a long distance move and ALWAYS get a not to exceed price. So, you get the picture….Classic bait and switch!!

W called let them know that we couldn't start unloading until late, or Saturday. But, when I finally got someone to talk to me, they acted like they never even knew that they were to be there Friday. By the way, "we aren't loading your items until Monday afternoon"! WHAT!! Nope, our stuff wasn't going to get there until Tuesday at 3:00.

Now, I'm back on the phone with Paula. Need to talk about the price of the move and the fact that our stuff didn't arrive as agreed upon. Long Distance Movers response: I should just be glad that they worked with us and didn't charge full price for the remaining packing since they came a day early. They provided the bank the request information regarding storing our property - duh! Of course they did, they wanted PAID. At that point, I knew I was fighting a losing battle. They had mastered holding people's property hostage and out of fear of your stuff being damaged beyond use, you concede.

So, Tuesday finally arrives. The movers promptly show up at 3:00, with a crew of, wait for it, TWO men! Yes, two men. They had 6 when they loaded up the house but sent 2 to unload us. Thursday, there are some things that I needed to take a look at..Broken top and glass on the barristers bookcase, busted floor lamp, two boxes of breakables that looked like they had been hit with a bat or run over by a car.. Of course, we can file a claim and get compensation..RIGHT. Just get out of my house!!

Horrible company, customer service, people and experience! Would never recommend them for anything! This terrible experience has lasted almost a year with no resolution in site.

  6. Move San Diego CA to Wheaton IL.

I know this is a cliche, nevertheless, I would give these movers a -5 star rating if possible.

They bait and switch and given false numbers regarding their load-in to bump up the moving price. They Under estimated the move them, tacked on almost 2,000 cubic feet to the final load out.

In my circumstance, LDRS, used half packed boxes (with out any packing material) and dodgy loading tactics to give the actual load out.

My job had allegedly been 3,500 cubic feet, however, the boxes fit into a 3,150 cubic foot storage locker. When I finally rearranged their hapless unloading in the unit, the total came to 2,670 cubic feet. After I checked all of the boxes and repacked them, the total cubic footage was 1, 840 cubic feet.

LDRS and their agents/employees also misplaced/stole $17,500 worth of merchandise and damaged or broke another $11,000 worth of household goods including china, Waterford Crystal, damaged appliances, cracked Denby china, broken boogie boards, damaged bicycles and many other items.

This company is currently not authorized to operate according to the D.O.T. (as of this writing on 01/27/2019).

Sufficed to say, they only possible recuperation I might have available is arbitration or a civil law suit (negligence, misrepresentation/fraud and conversion.) Unfortunately, I believe they may be going out of business.

I will also be looking into filing criminal charges against the company in California for theft, larceny, fraud and/or misrepresentation.

In the end, we did not have them deliver to the destination. We had it delivered to a storage unit so we could get out from under their malfeasance.

    M. Canada.

  7. Worst Moving Company.

Paid over $15k to Long Distance Relocation Services for a move from VA to AZ in June 2018. We had to assist the origin movers because they were running behind, they also re-adjusted the price quoted several times after our belongings had already been loaded.
Once our stuff arrived in AZ the movers attempted to unload items that did not belong to us and I had to inform the movers that the items did not belong to us. We had several items broken due to poor packing to include my daughter's loft bed I submitted a claim form for the broken items in July after waiting the advised time-frame for them to process the claim as stated in the paperwork they informed me I had to sign a release for the funds which I did, it is now January 2019 and I have not seen payment I have tried contacting their claim office and left several messages with no return response.
Do not use this company for your move unless you want to end up with your belongings broken and fighting a claim.

  8. Criminal.

Lost 2 TVs and other items broke multiple items an charged double they are a scam . Do not use. They don't care 2 plus months and extortion to get our belongings.

  9. Terrible Service and Didn’t Reimburse for Property Damage.

We paid LDRS $11,000 to move from Oregon to Massachusetts. When they came to pack our house they dragged the washing machine down the stairs. We submitted a claim, which was denied as they cited their policy of not being liable for property damage. During the entire moving process they were also beyond rude to speak to on the phone. I would not recommend them to anyone, and I’m honestly surprised they’re still in business.

  10. My choice.

I was very apprehensive about my move despite all the positive reviews for this company. With the move all done, I must say that they deserve their stellar reputation and I would choose them for my next move too!

  11. Great job!

We couldn’t be happier with the excellent service we received. This is our first move where nothing has been damaged during the process. I think we will stick permanently to these guys with their great attitude and responsible team.

  12. Unprofessional, disorganized.

There are two main reasons for my negative review of this company. The first was the lack of professionalism on the part of the moving team that delivered our household items to our new location. The foreman was very abrasive, rude, and disrespectful throughout the move. The contract that we signed stated that the full moving service that we were paying for included having the movers move labeled boxes into the appropriate rooms in the house and well as included basic disassembly/reassembly of furniture. The foreman became upset when we started directing the movers carrying the boxes into the appropriate rooms in the house and told us that they were only required to leave all of our items in the main room of the house. My wife asked for help reassembling a bed frame and 2 bookshelves that the company had disassembled as part of the move. The foreman refused. When my wife told him that the contract we signed included basic disassembly/reassembly of furniture, the foreman said “Woman, you just have a bad attitude and expect everyone to do everything for you. You must have something messed up in your head.” When he said this he raised his voice to a level that frightened my 1 year old daughter and made her cry.

After the foreman had finished shouting at my wife for having a bad attitude and having something messed up in her head, he told us to sign the bill of laden, which we reluctantly did, after he said “I am leaving right now whether you sign it or not. If you don’t sign it you will get no weight tickets, no receipt, no nothing.” The behavior of this foreman was bad enough that after the moving team had left, one of the other movers came back to apologize for the unprofessional way the foreman had treated us and said that he would be happy to vouch for us if we made a complaint to the company. When we talked to customer service about our experience with this particular foreman, they listened and recorded our complaint but no apologies were offered and no attempt to make any kind of amends were ever made. The disrespectful way that this foreman treated my wife and daughter in my home and the disregard for this behavior on the part of the company definitely says something about how much they value their customers. All this is more than reason enough for me to never recommend this company to anyone, and to never trust them with my business again.

In addition to the disrespectful, unprofessional way we were treated in our home by this company’s foreman, they showed a disappointing lack of competence and organization in providing me with the documentation for my move. As an active duty military member, I am required to provide weight tickets and receipts when the military transfers me to a different location in order for the military to reimburse me for the move. I made this known to Long Distance Relocation Services before I paid the deposit for the move, and they assured me that they had a lot of experience moving military members and that they would promptly provide the weight tickets and receipts necessary for me to get reimbursed for the move by the military. The foreman did not provide us with a copy of the weight tickets nor the bill of laden when our items were delivered. It took over a month of me calling the company twice a week or more before I finally got copies of the weight tickets. It has now been almost 2 and a half months and I still do not have a copy of the bill of laden, which I need for reimbursement for my move. This has severely delayed my reimbursement from the military and has put our family in a difficult financial situation due to this company’s inability to provide us with documentation for the move in a timely manner.

Do not trust this company to move your household items, especially if you are military personnel doing a personally procured move. Their lack of respect and professionalism and their inability to provide documentation is evidence of their disregard for their customers.

  13. Great service, great price.

Long Distance Relocation Services is the best balance of great service and great price that you will find anywhere in the industry. They have helped me make a huge and complicated move of a 5-bedroom house from Florida to Pennsylvania as simple as I could have ever imagined it. Not only are they ready for a job of any size, all their staff, from the movers to the office personnel are truly invested in your convenience and making sure the entire move goes off without a hitch. I have no hesitation in recommending Long Distance Relocation Services for its professionalism, speed and efficiency.

  14. These movers are the worst.

They broke and damaged just about all my furniture. I was also missing a bunch of stuff. They quote you one price to get you to hire them and then charges you almost double. They tell you when you first hire them that all you things are covered by insurance and there is no need to take out other coverage. But then when it comes time for them to take care of the damage they only give you .60 cents a pound and they determine the weight.

  15. Recommended.

Although we were making a short-distance move, the logistics of packing and moving the entire house was a nightmare. My wife and I are very happy we chose this company because they handled the whole affair with professional ease. We highly recommend them.
