  1. Outstanding delivery.

We made the decision to use this company after comparing several movers over a week. That time and effort was a great investment and we now know that we would never consider any other company. Great prices, good coordinators and especially good moving team.

  2. Check The One Star Reviews - do Not Use This Company.

STOP! Do NOT hire this company! The 5 Star reviews are all suspiciously similar (possibly paid/fake reviews). Read the 1 Star reviews .. pure nightmare stories. SAVE YOURSELF. A move is one of the most stressful events in life, and Long Distance Relocation Services (LDRS) will take full advantage of your vulnerability. LDRS will lie to you with their low quote and then CHARGE you far more (Thomas Philbin quoted me $4600 on 3/21/18, then 3 MONTHS LATER -- just 3 DAYS before my move when I had no other choice -- Lissa called to "finalize" the move, marking up the cost 27-28% more than the quote, even though Thomas told me, he had far overestimated the cost, and there would likely be a reduction not an increase). They will hold your belongings HOSTAGE, and pack and repack your belongings until they are destroyed (they admitted they left my belongings somewhere outside Sacramento, and were combining them with other moves; its been 4 WEEKS and my belongings are still missing). They will NOT DELIVER as promised (Thomas Philbin told me it would be 10-12 days from when they PICKED UP my belongings, and charged me for STORAGE even though he knew they would never deliver in that timeframe). They use misinformation in the contract confusing "delivery [time] frames," "delivery window," and "first available date for delivery." Even though I could have accepted delivery in Miami the next day, Thomas convinced me to state a delivery date beyond the 10-12 days, just as a fair guess, then Paula has since calculated the delivery timeframe 17 business days from that date, which is complete fraud. Their "customer service" will leave you on hold, miss you calls, not call you back, put you on hold 25+ minutes, yell at you, and threaten you. Watch out for Thomas Philbin, Lissa, Elizabeth (Liz), Leann, Brandy Jones, and their boss Paula R. Thomas Philbin will try to sound like your best friend, but his only job is to low ball the estimate, to get you locked in with a deposit and then make everything sound easy and like it will be no problem at all. Then comes Elizabeth and Lissa who coordinate the move, but their job is to find every way possible to mark up the move, bully you by claiming that "anything glass is extra" and that "you'll need special packing for that." Read the reviews, it happens in every case so they know their estimates are lies. LDRS marked the cost they charged for my move up 28%. Some other moves listed on this website were marked up 50% or more. Despite my requests to put "finalizing the move" in writing, Lissa purposely avoided emailing with me because her job is to strongarm you into paying more. She purposely did this 3 days before my move when I already had a closing date, a flight and hotel, friends coming to help, and no other choice but to go forward with LDRS. This is a type of adhesion contract, and it is illegal. The crew chief for the move was Stanislav Khodkevich, a young Russian man who was friendly, but was far too inexperienced. He struggled, and was ultimately unable to park the moving truck properly on the loading dock at the San Francisco storage facility, and he had a difficult time navigating the tight SF streets. The crew was both a day late, and then arrived late on the second day, so it was a near disaster as they did not get to the storage facility until nearly 5pm and it closed at 6pm. We rushed to empty the unit with the help of 3 friends. Without the assistance of my crew I would have had to delay closing, change my flight, miss work, and try to coordinate yet another day for moving. The crew seemed over worked, and ill informed. The movers broke the security window at the entrance to my building, said they would fully cover the cost of replacing the entire window, and then never followed up. When LDRS refused to pay, I had to file a police report, and the building fixed the window for $468 (because the security bars had to be removed), and then charged me. LDRS then claimed they could break whatever they wanted and that they were not liable, but they could not point to any part of the contract that allowed them to break my property or the property of a third party and not be liable. They still have not paid. Then comes the customer service nightmare with Leann, Brandy, and their boss Paula R. Their aggression, heartless apathy, and willingness to flat out lie to you as part of their job will astound you. They do not care about you, your belongings, what they promised, or how much it cost. They avoided my phone calls, put me on hold more than once over 20 minutes (hoping I would give up), and said they would call me back but failed to do so. Brandy is one of the worst, as did everything she could to avoid talking to me, when I did catch her on the telephone she agreed with me several times, but then changed her mind when the iron fisted Paula came down on her. Paula ended up yelling at me and using pejorative language in an attempt to scare me off. I documented our conversation immediately afterward, asking for it to be escalated to her supervisors but she did nothing.

LDRS claims on its recorded message that they have a A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) but I have found no evidence of this. I filed a BBB complaint, and LDRS responded with lies that were easily disproved with the contract. I will be filing claims with the U.S. Department of Transportation and with the State Attorney General's Office in at least four states.

  3. Do not move with this company.

What I know now of this business, I would never use this company. Do your research but AVOID this company. They are not even accredited by BBB. This was the worst experience we have ever had with any business and customer service is just as poor. I’m not even sure how they are able to continue their practice because of the fraud and dishonesty of their business. They lack a code of ethics. We were quoted $6400 and paid over 12K. It was a nightmare from start to finish.Their advertisement of accurate estimates is a sham. Do yourself a favor and stay away. Listen to those detailed complaints, as you will see the similarities and what others experienced.

  4. Happy customer.

I was happy with the schedule for delivery that I was offered and much happier when they actually managed to be faster than their own estimate. Entirely not what I am used to when dealing with moving companies. Kudos!

  5. Good for long-distance moves.

This was my first long-distance move and I had to do a lot of research to make sure that I got the right people for the job. The business manager for Long Distance Relocation Services, Anthony is the reason I decided to use them. He managed to explain all the complicated options and pricing to me in a way that was honest (unlike some other companies who seemed to trying to confuse me so they could charge me more). The day of the move, the movers did a great job also.

  6. Ideal for big moves.

I would recommend Long Distance Relocation Services to every large family considering a long distance move. Their service from the start to the end was flawless and I think it is very rare for a moving company to be this professional, based on personal experience.
Kudos to James, Trevin and Johny who handled the move on the day, and the office salesperson, Joy, who coordinated everything. All the items from our old 5-bedroom home in Virginia arrived safely and securely on time in Rhode Island. Perfect!

  7. Gerat team.

What a great team of truly nice and genuine people. Thank you all for making our move so much easier and more pleasant that we had thought it would be. It was a pleasure to have gotten to know you and we wish you all the best for the future.

  8. Rare case.

I am more of a ‘negative reviewer’ – I usually only review when something p!sses me off. Glad to say that that’s changed after my experience with these movers. They managed to impress me with their service, professionalism and also their price.

  9. Belongings not delivered.

My Belongings will not be delivered by the date time frame that was specified in the written contract. The movers have said that all they have to do is compensate me $30 a day for each late day.

Several of the customer service and sales people who I spoke with in the process of trying to resolve this told me that it is normal for one-bedroom apartment moves to be delivered past the promised timeframe.

As soon as I had a physical address, I provided it to the movers. They then told me that they had a full 17 business days to deliver my items from that date. While I wasn’t really happy to hear this, I understood that it is contractually binding because it was in the fine print that I signed. After waiting patiently, I heard from them and found out that they will not even be putting my items on the truck until the week of the originally promised delivery. Since this is a cross-country move, this means that I will not have my items for probably 5 to 6 days past the promised original dates. The issue with this now is that I have to travel for work and I have been trying to structure my schedule around the delivery of my items. I have made numerous efforts to call customer service to attempt to schedule my work around the delivery, and I have been told that they would call me back the next day, but they don’t. Now that my items will be delivered past the promised window, I won’t be able to be here when it works for the company. They have told me that they would try to give me a 24 hour window of heads up before they arrive, but that does not allow me to do anything except be here waiting for my stuff.

This company has in every way taken full advantage of the maximum allowable delivery window. I have to travel now and I don’t know how they are going to handle having to store my belongings for extra days. I am working with their customer service supervisor, who is trying to help resolve this, but unfortunately, I still do not have a delivery date, And I have both business and family travel planned.

I would never recommend this company for a cross-country move. The only positive thing I can say is that the pick up occurred on time and went smoothly. The delivery has been a nightmare.

  10. Nice people, hard workers.

I had a great time using Long Distance Relocation Services - they are a genuinely nice and friendly bunch of guys who know how to do their job and do it well. Best of all, there is no drama about what is covered and what is not because they make things clear right from the start. The credit goes to Joy, the sales manager. All my stuff arrived in one piece and on time so thank you to the movers too!

  11. Experts.

We used Long Distance Relocation Services to move our 2-bedroom apartment in Indiana to a 3-bedroom house in New Hampshire. Firstly, the level of expertise is excellent. Our old driveway was very tight but the movers, Travis, Jonny and Alex, managed to handle lots of oversize items with great skill so nothing was damaged. Secondly, they are more affordable than many of the other companies while providing a higher level of service, including punctuality and politeness. We did not see anything that would deter us from using them again.

  12. Value for Money.

My wife and I moved our own stuff the last time and decided never again! We chose Long Distance Relocation Services on a friend’s recommendation. Glad to say that we had as great a moving experience with them as she had.
The moving team arrived on time, they were polite, and worked hard. There were no smoke breaks and excessive resting and we were packed and ready to go ahead of time. Unloading and unpacking was just as smooth and simple. For the price that we were given by sales manager, Joy, we think this is the best value for money moving company out there.

  13. Highly recommended.

My job makes me move more times than I care to remember, especially because the movers have been so consistently bad. This was my first time using Long Distance Relocation Services and it seems they are the only company that I will use again and even recommend to others. From the moment I contacted them, they were nothing but consummate professionals. I believe Joy at their office is the sales manager and she is responsible for a lot of the success they have had. Leann and Brandy, also did a great job.

  14. DO NOT USE these movers!

They are rude, incompetent and will damage your items. The movers aren’t trained - they’re all new and inexperienced. They damaged our new hardwood floors and ALL of our furniture was seriously damaged.

We moved from LA to Texas - to begin:
*they lied and misrepresented the company and said that our items would be immediately delivered to Texas. They in fact were not - they were stored in LA.
    * It took weeks to get our items.
    * Once they were finally delivered EVERYTHING was seriously damaged.

PLEASE DO NOT use these movers. It’s a terrible waste of money.

  15. Great experience.

Long Distance Relocation Services is the best moving company that my family and I have had the chance to deal with. They came highly recommended by a couple of friends and now we have joined the fan club, too. Transparent in pricing, careful with your items, punctual and polite - these guys have it all covered. A special mention to Joy and John who worked so hard with so much of our heavy stuff!
We were moving from MD to NY, 2-bedroom apartment.
