  1. BEWARE Do Not Use

Do NOT use this company. I would give them negative stars if I could. They do not keep your items together. They pack everything horribly. Most of my items are damaged or lost. They do not give you 72 hours notice to deliver, rather a few hours then do not show up or even have the courtesy to call you to let you know. Horrible, horrible movers ruined many of my items, left trash in my home, refused to let me count my items, lied about me having all of my items, tried to keep some furniture on the truck (I had to go onto the truck and get it myself), refused to give me boxes I identified as mine in someone else's pile of things, were rude and left without my consent that I had everything delivered. Ruined my move.

  2. What a Joke Don't Use this Company

First DO NOT GO THROUGH A BROKER they don't tell you that they pawn your move to these PEEPS. Costing me $30,000 to go from MInden NV to Missouri. Holding my furniture hostage in LV and wanted to charge $2800 per mo. to store my furniture. Madeline who works for them let me know that just two weeks before the free month is up. Now scrambling to get my furniture moved to another Storage in Missouri. Why has someone filed a lawsuit for bait and switch. The company I thought I was getting was Empire Interstate Movers. They are just a Broker. Hell how am I to know if they don't tell you. Stay away from Empire and Kyle. Rip Off.. Thought my move would be around $15000.00 now $30,000.00

  3. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY

If there was a -1 star, that would be my rating. This company takes no accountability for their lack of competency. As indicated by several reviews, they jack you for additional money and threaten to hold your personal property hostage if you don’t pay extra costs added on when they pick up of deliver. They demand that you to sign a form that your property is in the same shape it was in when it was put on the truck (before they unload it) so you can not really tell) or they shut the truck door and prepare to take off with your items. They also hired third party people to deliver our property from they storage. When the third party arrived to deliver our property and opened the truck doors. I almost cried. Our mattresses that were supposed to be wrapped ( as the do not use mattress covers) were torn, black with soot and dirt and unwrapped. Out boxes were battered and broken open and thing were scattered. The two women who came in the delivery truck hire two men to do all the moving from Craigslist (gigs). Nice guy, but inexperienced- just the muscles for the move. This third party (Marie) took no responsibility for the conditions of our goods stating “that’s how it came off the truck and how I picked it up from the warehouse”.

NEXT STEPS: I will be filing several complaints with this company and the broker Moving Direct who insisted they ONLY hire the best movers for their jobs. They are negligent. They also get a complaint. The details of my experience are are not all in the review as I will save this for my formal complaints.

If you experience situations with a move carrier - uses sites like this to share; however, per my attorney, file formal complaints with federal and state agencies so they can launch formal investigations into the conduct of these companies that give the moving business a poor name.

  4. The worst of the worst

I don't need to exaggerate, I have Pictures to prove my complaints, including pictures of the truck just before unloading and witnessed them throughing belongings like they were footballs, I have pictures of damages to My stove, Refrigerator T.V. Console TV. Broken open boxes. when I called to find out after one full month where our belongings were and why taking so long you would not believe the rudness and hatefullness that was spewed,I had a decent conversation with Sandra now all of a sudden she's unavailable between Oasis and Priceline and their lies it cost us $ 7,138.00. I can tell you one thing I don't plan on letting this go no matter how long it takes..I will start publishing pictures that shows their driver and un loaders, I have kept all of my information from start to finish. my next step is BBB. and go forward until i'm compensated, Ihave pictures of our mattress oil all over the bottom with Gravel and grass on it. my new refrigerator is caved in on the top and dents in the side, boxes were ripped open , holes poked in them. parts to T.V. Missing. Pictures broken. I will say at 83 years old this is the wosrt thing I have ever been through added to the loss of a daughter 2 months befor the move.. Jan Goade

  5. AWFUL!

I felt bullied on the phone for more money ($1,500) after signing a contract... he made comments like "you want to assure the move goes smoothly, right?"

They were a day late saying that the truck broke down which I found out was a lie. I'm missing 5 boxes and a lot of my things were destroyed. Including water damage which I have no idea how that happened..I didn't pack liquid! I have pool table legs (very expensive) that aren't mine and when I realized it about an hour after they left i called him and he said.. "they'll have to make a claim like everyone else". I paid well over 10k for this move and sooo disgusted. Two antique dressers have holes in the bottom and broken drawers. My granddaughter's barbie toys all broken. I sent an email with pictures and explained all that was broken as instructed and then I received an actual claim form. They seem to manipulate to save time on their end and it's so frustrating!

Recap... they demanded more money, broke almost every single glass item, two wet boxes that included my daughters books and bibles which were destroyed, missing boxes that I'll never get back,

I have things that aren't mine, etc.

This entire process started through Gold standard movers, they subcontracted oasis out. I recommend not doing business with either of these companies.

I pray that you don't have to go through what I am, and may God bless your move.

  6. Bad movers

This company is not a moving company, they are a demolition service. They broke, marred, or crushed almost everything. I did not contract with them, but was brokered through Gold Standard Moving and Storage. Both of these companies should be shut down! I have been trying to file a claim, but cannot get the form from them. They were supposed to email it to me days ago. Instead of using them, just pile up your belongings and set them on fire. You'll save yourself a lot of trouble.

  7. Worst movers ever

This company overcharged, delayed move 2.5 mos, stole my silver, broke glass, mirrors and damaged furniture. Tried to settle for $117 on $6300 research on items destroyed or broken. They are dishonest and should be put out of business

  8. Long distance move Carson City, NV to Plantation, FL

80% of my belongings we broken and or damaged. They went through all of my stuff and stole anything of value. I'm still logging all of what's been taken. I was "Overcharged" for the actual CF used. I am out the $5,300 for the move and now the costs to replace all of what's been stolen from me. I'm still waiting for the claim dept. to respond. Thieves!

  9. Extortion, broken things, awful people

    Hi all,

I did not expect to have to do so much research when I hired a moving company for the first time on my own. I hired movers before for an inter-complex move but not across states (from Phoenix to Texas). My story is basically the same as everyone else in here. They told me my things would be with a military family headed from Phoenix to San Antonio that weekend. It’s almost a month later and my things finally arrived 2 days ago. They increased the price on pickup by what the original estimate was (1800) and we had to be out of the apartment so what could we do. The original quote of 3600 was over what I wanted but then the new quote of 5400 was completely absurd. I had LESS items than what I was quoted for. On delivery they tried to get me to pay an absolutely bogus 800$ shuttle fee (of course in cash) and threatened to charge me 350$ a day until I paid it. I finally got them to deliver my things without having to pay because I yelled so much at the poor driver (still feel bad about).

Anyways, I want to sue these people for extortion. A ton of people have had a similar experience and I’m tired of it. I’m curious why other people have not done it yet?

Here is my plan to get back at Oasis Moving and Storage. I want to report them to the IRS.

    https://www.irs.gov/individuals/how-do-you-report-suspected-tax-fraud-activity

Read the reasons and among them you will find “unreported income”.

“Use Form 3949-A, Information Referral PDF if you suspect an individual or a business is not complying with the tax laws. “

They demand extra cash for hostage cargo and I’m sure they aren’t paying taxes on it. They have been doing this since 2008(?). The more people we get to report under the table money fees, the better ... let’s DO something about this awful, fraudulent company.

I plan to report them today. It can be huge fines and years in prison.

For any questions, please email me:

    Legoloco47@gmail.com

I hope other people who have already been scammed read this. Let’s do something about it!

  10. Total Criminal Organization

These guys are criminals and extortionists. They picked up our stuff, then demanded more money. They refused to return our property when we said we were not going to pay more. If we didn't pay, they were going to keep our property. They had another shipping company deliver our stuff 2 weeks late. Do not do business with them. We can afford a lawyer so we will be dragging them through court. We filed with the the DOT and will work to get their cert. pulled. Will be talking to some folks about their use of interstate electronic communication and such as part of an organized crime racket to defraud people. A RICO case is the ultimate goal. I can't put 0 stars. I tried.

  11. Beware beware

Trip from arizona to kentucky, most unprofessional company I've ever seen. Tons of hidden charges, most unfriendly customer service. Showed up late for pick up, showed up late on delivery. No answers given in issues. Broken furniture, one employee was arrested when they showed up for probation violation. Worst moving experience. Don't use these people if you value your belongings.

  12. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

I hired another company to move me and these people showed up with no warning. they held my things hostage for more money, then "lost" a lot of my things, damaged a lot of my furniture to where I had to throw things out due to never being able to use them again, my furniture I did get has water marks on the kitchen table, scratches on my side tables, my top comes off my nightstand now, my long dresser the bottom is broken so i can no longer use it, my tv stand was broken, my microwave was used, all of my bathroom items were "lost", my lamps were broken, my clothes boxes were broken down and some of my hanging clothes gone, a needlepoint picture i was working on was "lost", some of my clothes were "lost". When they delivered my things they tried to extort me for more money, then when i would not pay, they drove away with my things and refused to leave them.

  13. DO NOT USE

I have been waiting to write a review publicly anywhere until after I received my belongings as I was concerned that my stuff would be stolen or damaged as it has been for other people that I have been in communications with. As it is, I am already missing 2 things which I understand that stuff happens. Do NOT use this company especially if you are moving your belongings OUT-OF-STATE. Moving is already stressful & this company worsens the stress. From them charging extra because they had to wait (after they were late) to them delivering my stuff outside of the 1-21 business days I agreed to for a move from NV to VA. This doesn't include the fact that I had to call multiple times for anyone to answer because I assume they saw it was my number & ignored it. Most of the times I'd call back because they'd answer & then hang up on me. Madeline asked me one day that I called if I’d been rude & that's the reason they hung up on me, I had just called the number the phone was picked up, put on hold for 15 minutes & then was hung up on. I was told that Mondays were bad days to call on because it was super busy, so I called on other days. There’s only one person who was helpful-that is Brittany. Madeline is the WORST customer service rep they have. She yelled at me & my mom on the phone & called us liars - I will get to that in a second. 1/21 we were given a window 7-10 am for pickup on 1/22. So, on 1/22 at about 9:00 we hadn't received a single word about when they'd show up. We decided to call just to see if they had more info. We were told it would be about 30 minutes for them to show up & I should expect a call soon. 9:30 rolls around & we still hadn't received a word. We call back & are told they hit traffic, but they should be there in about 15 minutes. 10:00 comes & they still haven't shown up. I had our wedding rehearsal so my husband & I left but my dad stayed at the house so that he could transfer my belongings. At 10:15 we decided they weren't showing up anytime soon BECAUSE WE STILL HAD RECEIVED NO COMMUNICATION, so he left the house. I received a call saying they were 5 minutes out but was unable to answer the call because I didn’t have my phone on, I was told I'd get about 15-30 minutes notice. We left a note on the door saying "We waited for the 7-10 am window y'all gave us. We will be back at 11:00". They charged us $70 for waiting from 10:21 when they showed up to 11:10 when we got back to the house. After we were told it would be $70 extra for them waiting, we called customer service because they were late it wasn’t our fault, they were late we shouldn't have to pay the extra money. Madeline was unfortunately the one to answer the phone. We started the call very respectful just wanted to know why we were being charged. Immediately she got very disrespectful & said "You couldn't wait 6 extra minutes? What's the difference of 6 minutes?" then told me that I was lying about what I was told on the phone earlier in the morning. So, I said "Excuse me? Okay, thank you so much for your help" & hung up because I wasn’t having her attitude. A month & half goes by & we're coming up on the deadline. I called almost every day as it was nearing the 21 BUSINESS days. Sandra would tell me "I've talked to dispatch, they said it's going to be out this weekend or early next week" EVERY SINGLE TIME I CALLED. As the 21 business day mark hit, I was put in touch with Brittany who FINALLY got the ball rolling. I received my stuff on 3/15 & got compensation for waiting because I told them I was talking to a lawyer & was going to pursue legal action if I didn't receive my stuff on time. I had a police report waiting as well. On the 36th business day after my move started, Sandra called me telling me that the movers were at my house waiting for me. I said "I haven't received any communication that they were even on their way so it's going to be a minute before I'm home" & she said "You know what, let me call them to see where they are actually" about 3 minutes later she says "Actually they will be there tonight at 6 but I gave them your number so they could call you & give you a warning on when they'd be there" she told me the price & we hung up. At 6:00 I received not a single word on when they'd be there. I called Oasis & they didn’t answer, I called Brittany's personal line that she gave me to call if I couldn't get through, was sent to voicemail & then got a call from the movers. They had the wrong address & I was told that they’d just received my number which is why I wasn’t called sooner. Most of my furniture is damaged but most of it is normal moving damages; i.e., corners bent on my secretary desk, corners bent on my dresser, wood broken on my cube organizer, & a handle missing from my dresser. I chose MoveSmart due to the price & they put my move through Oasis. If I could go back in time, I would rent a UHaul so that I wouldn't have to deal with the stress & drama MoveSmart & Oasis put me through.

  14. They will cheat you

I had a quote from Oasis which seemed reasonable. On the day of the move they didn’t show up. After numerous calls, they arrived the next day and decided to charge me double the estimate. Most of my furniture was damaged. Don’t use this company!

  15. SCAMMERS-DO NOT HIRE

This moving company is apart of an elaborate scheme that operates off of deceptive business practices. I hired Move Smart, out of Boca Raton Florida, who made out like I hit the jackpot. Their prices were $1000 less than other companies, and they talk so sweet and amazing on the phone, it reminded of a timeshare salesman. You are rushed through signing the contract and paying a deposit to reserve this incredible price. Our deposit was $2400 for a $3650 move. This was the contract I signed. Three days before the move, quality calls from MoveSmart, and despite taking off many items from my original inventory, they add $1000. Then the day of the move, Oasis Moving and Storage shows up with a brand new contract on the spot, tacks on another $1000, and tells you to sign it or they aren't moving your stuff and you lose the deposit. What choice do you have at that point? As a lower middle class family in a pandemic, we had no extra money to hire new movers last minute. The cherry on top, they request the extra payment in cash or money order. I have filed a police report against both companies in both states and lodged formal complaints with the DA in Florida and Nevada. I have also reported this company to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. I will have a sheriff come out tomorrow when my stuff is here and file a police report in my new state as well, if they do not release my stuff. What a nightmare....Oh and forget customer service after you pay a deposit, it is non existent. Don't believe, search Move Smart and Oasis Moving and Storage and look at the hundreds of reviews. After all the money they tacked on, I could have hire Colonial or Allied. Live and learn.
