  1. Called the day of the move to say they couldn't help

    A month before moving, we made a reservation with UPack. They were really helpful. They confirmed that they could fit in our driveway (on a corner). Fast forward to moving day. UPack calls an hour before they were supposed to arrive and they said that they can't come. Our driveway is on a busy intersection and they aren't going to be able to drop off the cubes. If they had said that initially then we'd have made other arrangements instead of needing to find moving trucks the DAY OF. Not cheap. And they weren't willing to compensate that mistake. Very frustrating experience.

  2. Great service and customer care.

    When I had to suddenly move my parents from Puerto Rico to New York I had no idea where to start since I do not live over there. Searching on the internetin my parents area luckily I found U-pack. Right from the first phone call I received excellent service and the customer care agent was very patient with all my questions and never seemed in a hurry to rush off the phone. After putting all my cares and worries to rest I went ahead and reserved a shipping container. I found the cost to be reasonable for the distance and work involved to get it to me so far away. They offered a few alternatives for filling the container either myself or with a moving company. I chose to bring the furniture to the freight location and fill the container myself. After filling and securing the container, I locked it up and put my worries aside that they were going to ship it to me in New York. Once it arrived in New York they contacted me and I made an appointment for them to drop it off on my driveway. Two days later they came back and took the empty container away. Thank you for making the long distance move so easy for me and for having such excellent customer service! To all your team members, thank you very much. It was such a pleasure that every time I called, I didn't have to go through a bunch of prompts, somebody always picked up the phone right away and was able to help me and answer my questions. I just want to say one little thing about anybody that complains about damage to whatever they put into the container. Other than major storms at sea or accidents on the road if you don't properly pack and secure your items in the container for the possibility of being moved around inside, any damage you received is your own fault for improper securing and packaging your container. When I opened my container 3 weeks later not a single box or piece of furniture had moved. Pack it right or pay the price. I will gladly recommend your company from now on.

  3. Lost items

    Well this company was the best we used when moving from Michigan to Kentucky , but when we needed to move again we went with them again this time the truck was late and they came early to pick up trailor, The first time we could put our own lock on it ,but the second time we were unable to put our own lock on it and we finally finished sorting out all the boxes only to realize we have several items missing. to numerous to list but the one thing that meant alot to my son was his leather jacket he just purchased within that year. I do not reccomend this company unless you can put your own lock on it ..

    Did very well! Was on time and very nice! Customer service was fast and understanding. Had one issue and they helped the same day.

  5. U-pack needs to do better!

    My husband and I choose U-pack because it was the best option for our budget. We knew going in that U-pack service was a hit and miss, like many other reviews validated. But I didn’t expect my experience with U-pack to be as terrible as it was. To start, I called U-pack to request that my pod be delivered to my new home. The customer service rep that I spoke with rudely told me that they didn’t service my area. I asked if there was anything that they were willing to do to help me, but they were unwilling to be flexible. Because U-pack didn’t service my area, I asked if they could divert my pod to Colorado Springs instead of sending my pod to Kansas City. They said that they would. The story gets worse from here. I called them about three days later to ask if my pod had arrived in Colorado Springs, the associate I spoke with said that my pod had arrived and I received a text that confirmed this as well. I tried yet again to see if U-pack would deliver my pod to me, they still would not, the associate told me that I would need to pick up my things at their storage facility in Colorado Springs, which is 3 hours away from where I currently live. I told the associate that we were going to come down that Saturday to pick up our things. The associate neglected to tell me that the U-pack facility was closed on Weekends, this was heartbreaking for my husband and I because online it clearly stated that they were open on weekends. This made us angry, not only did we waste 600 hundred dollars on a truck, we also wasted a friends time that could only help on Saturdays. So, on Monday I called U-Pack to yell at them for their miscommunication; come to find out that are pod was not even in Colorado Springs, our pod as in Wichita Kansas! We did not tell them to ship our pod there! At this point my husband and I became furious. We explained to the associate that we did not request U-pack to send our pod to Wichita. At this point, I made U-pack ship me my stuff. U-pack said they would have to use a third party contractor to bring our things to us, we were livid that we had to pay U-ack more money. But we paid it because we were tired of fighting with them and we wanted our stuff. It still shocks me that they didn’t offer me the third party solution the first time that I spoke with them regarding my pod. They choice to wait until my husband and I became a problem to offer us that solution. The issues with U-pack doesn’t end here either. Although U-pack used a third party contractor, the contractor used one of U-packs trucks to bring my husband and me our things. I mention this because the day that we were supposed to get our stuff, the truck broke down! I guess U-pack didn’t bother to check their vehicles before they assigned them to drivers. And when we finally did get our stuff some of our furniture came damaged! What the hell U-pack!

    Let’s review my grievances with U-pack: they are not flexible like the company claims to be, they charged my husband and I extra to ship our things to us even though they created the problem in the first place, poor communication, and rude customer service.

    So, the moral of the story is the U-pack is not a reliable moving service!

  6. Great company!

    We were in an accident right before we were suppose to move ourselves so last minute we had to change plans. Contacted UPack and got a very reasonable quote and they were able to accommodate the dates we needed (pretty last minute) for the pods to be dropped off and picked up. They arrived right on time and placed the pods in great locations for making it easiest for us. They picked up promptly as well with no issues. Love that we had plenty of travel time before needing to be at our destination to receive the pods. When we arrived to our destination we were actually contacted three days early to say hey your pods are here IF you want them early and we said sure thing. Delivery at our ending location was great as well! Nothing damaged, no problems at all. We unloaded them and let UPack know they were empty and the next day they came to pick them up. If we ever move again this is definitely the way to do it. Thank you!!

  7. Pitiful Communication

    Extremely unprofessional experience. It’s difficult to understand how this company feels comfortable charging a client $2,700+ to move all of their belongings and the communication around drop off of said belongings could be so inconsistent and borderline careless.

    Would not recommend to anyone who is moving. However, I would recommend paying substantially less for a UHaul and doing it on your own. Overall, more straightforward and less dependent on the people who work for this company to act in your best interest or care about your belongings as much as you do.

    THANK YOU UPACK!

    I scheduled a move with another company in July for an August move from San Antonio, TX to Hopewell Jct, NY.

    The other moving company never showed, and did not have the decency to let me know when they can pickup my stuff from SA. I called UPack in a panic, as I had to have my stuff out quickly. UPack was able to schedule a pod in less than a week, that we were able to pack. The pod arrived at my place in about 9 days from packing. The man who drove the pod to my place even helped me unpack the pod!

    I also love how UPack allows tracking, so you can easily determine what day your belongings will arrive.

    I can see how your items could get ruined using a pod. I would recommend using movers. I did not, and some of my belongings were really wet from weather, etc. However, that is on me - not UPack.

  9. Totally Disappointed

    My husband and I just used UPack for a cross-state move. It is beyond frustrating that UPack does not operate on weekends. The delivery of our belongings was already running late. Then, on the day of scheduled delivery, we were called by the distribution center and were informed that their one and only forklift was broken. They could not give us any kind of time estimate for it to get repaired and apparently the last time this had happened, the delivery center was out of commission for 3 days. We ended up having to spend an additional $850 to have local movers drive to the distribution center, unload our relo cubes, reload them into a truck, and finally drive to our home and unload our belongings. Once our stuff was delivered, we found our tv had been shattered. Will NEVER be using UPack again.

  10. Another perfect move

    I’ve now used U-Pack twice for long distance moves. In both cases, my move was simply perfect! From reserving my desired relocation unit, to on time drop-off, pickup, delivery, and final pickup everything was smooth sailing. The drivers were all friendly and professional. I would highly recommend U-Pack to anyone looking for an affordable moving solution that you can completely trust. Well done!

    If I could give them a 10 star I would. Moved from Ca to FL. Moving is very stressful but UPack made it oh so much better. They were up front about the time line for the trailer to get here and to my surprise it came early. Everything went smooth, customer service was great!!! I cant say enough about UPack. We had no damage on anything. Pack it right and you will have no problems. Thank you UPack for everything and making this move as easy as possible. I honestly cant say enough about this company. It was very hard to put my trust in something that had everything we owned and going across country but from the beginning i was reassured that my stuff would make it. I definitely recommend UPack to everyone that is moving. They gave us more than enough time to unload the trailer it was nice seeing that it was just myself and my husband to unloaded it. Again Thank you Thank you!!! UPACK IS AWESOME!!

    We chose U-Pack over competitors because of the sturdiness of the container, price point, and turn around time from door-to-door. Incredibly happy with the quote, ordering process, and our delivery service from Ohio and Missouri. Highly recommend and will definitely use them again should the need arise.

  13. No confidence

    First impressions are everything. Called first this this morning to get some information and the person was horribly terse and was rushing through answering my questions, which I was only calling to get clarity on. Felt like I was annoying him by asking. If this is what I can expect, hard pass. I ended up telling him, “you seem to be in a hurry to get me off the phone, so sorry for wasting your time.”

  14. Move

    I had a wonderful experience with this company. Their customer support is exceptional and worked with me resolving any issues that arose with my move. The best part was that, unlike other companies, there were no added fees. Will definitely use again!

  15. Never Again

    Never again. They managed to foul up every step of the process. The containers were at the wrong location at origin, they shipped to the wrong location at destination, they didn't tell us when our boxes arrived, so we had to book movers

    to unload at last second and paid out the nose, the movers they booked for us were 2 guys is a small pickup, several items were broken including an antique dresser, and it took 12 hours to load a 2 BR apt and almost that long to unload. There are so many different layers to their business model that nothing is ever anyone's fault so when something goes wrong, it's always the customer holding the bag. And it cost about $8,000 for the privilege.
